First time coming here with the bf. He remembered this place from when he lived in Baldwin park. We decided to try it today and it didn't disappoint. We had a wet burrito that was a good size for us to share. The carne asada was a little bland, but overall the burrito was pretty good. We also got a taco de Al pastor and a carnitas one. The carnitas were delicious, they were tender and had a lot of flavor. The Al pastor was also good. The only meat that was a little disappointing was the asada. The cashier was friendly and you can eat out in the open. For my vegan readers they have a good amount of vegan choices. It was a good experience and we will definitely come back. Decided to stop by for a Soyrizo Burrito and glad I did. The burrito itself had beans in it, big fan of breakfast burritos with beans instead of hash. Generous amounts of other ingredients: tofu scramble, Soyrizo, avocado and potato. My plan was to eat half and enjoy my coffee since I'm not a breakfast guy. I couldn't stop eating! I have been purchasing vegan food from Garduno's Taco King for almost 4yrs, and I highly recommend trying this place out. Tamales for the holidays are exceptionally the best. Both green or red chili, with lots of jackfruit, moist, and filling. Albondiga soup is flavored just like my grandmas, with veggies and lots of vegan meatballs. Perfect for these chilly days. Small local business with a surprising amount of vegetarian options which was nice to see were available. I opted for the cheese enchilada plate. It was ok. I think I would try some of the tacos next time. My husband got the chicken burrito and it was tasty. Portions are reasonable for cost. I gave my review a 4 because I think they could have additional help to provide stellar customer service. The place needs an update. The place looks a bit run down and not very welcoming. I also did not like that they only had one very small trash container that was overfilled already. I believe with a little TLC this could be a great place to come with family. Overall it was ok and I'll be back to sample other things from menu. I know they been in business for many years and I could see why the community supports this establishment. Finally! A great Vegan Mexican Food joint! I was able to see someone post on social media, and decided to drive out to give it a try! They had a huge selection for their Vegan menu! Best of all was that also had other selections as well! I want to apologize at first because the pictures I took of the food was after I plated them from a togo order, just to be a little safer from the COVID-19 craziness. I'll make sure to take better photos next time! Food Cauliflower Taco & Jackfruit Taco - my wife was the one that got these, I tried a bite, and thought they were pretty nice but definitely spicy. I don't know if there will be an option to get no spicy next time. I enjoyed it at least. Al Pastor Taco - this was pretty good, well marinated and cooked, but I believe this may not be the same pastor you may expect from like a taco truck. Still pretty good. Vegan Fries- this was quite good, we ended up getting half jackfruit and half cauliflower, but I believe next time we would just go w the cauliflower for more texture. Vegan Quesadilla- this was by far one of my kids and our favorite dish. Had the nice little crunchy texture on the outside but loaded on the inside with vegan cheese. Everyone should give this a try. Again I'm glad we were able to try this place. There were even markers for people to stand, and everyone kept their distance with masks. Will be back, and will be aiming for those Nachos! I love the potato taquitos though. The cashew cream is so bomb! My dad always gets the vegan ceviche with heart of palms in it. Came across this place and it exceeded my expectations. I got the potato taquitos, which came with beans and rice, and it was delicious. Their burritos are big (my boyfriend got the vegan California burrito) and really tasty as well. I'm gonna keep it real guys... Garduno's Taco King is hit or miss. But when it is a hit- it's AMAZING. It's similar to having mood swings. Some days you feel like you are on top of the world and other days you want to crawl into a ball in a cold, dark room. Garduno's has mood swings too! Catch them on a "good day" when they have all of their ingredients stalked and someone who can speak and understand English and you are good to go!!! But... If you accidentally come on a "bad day" you will notice the difference. The lady taking your order won't be very clear or confirm your order. She will make you some random crap you didn't even order. And you will leave unhappy. I have been to Garduno's Taco King twice now. First time was sky-high nirvana! I was extremely impressed with the food quality. I ordered Vegan Cheese tamales and a Vegan Chili Cheese Fry. The second time I came, the food was barely edible. You see, I ordered a Vegan Cheese Quesadilla, a Bean and Cheese (vegan), and Vegan Chili Cheese fries. I received something that resembled a quesadilla, but it did not have any cheese at all, and it came with some vegetables and avocado. Ummmm okay? What the actual efffff guys!? That is NOT a quesadilla. My Bean and Vegan Cheese burrito came with JUST beans. Again, What the........! To the Garduno's employee: If you run out of Vegan Cheese, please tell us! Don't just try to make the same menu items without cheese. What you served me was DISGUSTING. I ate a burrito full of beans and a weird wannabe quesadilla that wasn't edible. Good spot to grab a burrito or some taquitos and I love that they have vegan options, even though I haven't tried them. My sister did however get the jackfruit burrito and loved it! She already was planning to come back. The super combo burrito is massive and can easily be two meals. Their carnitas was pretty good, beans were awesome, with standard rice and guac. Overall a tasty burrito but not quite 5-stars as I'm spoiled with my Mexican food and I've had better in the area. I wish my burrito had more carnitas in it especially for the size. I'm super intrigued by their dessert items, and that plus their big menu with lots of other options would definitely sway me to return. tl;dr-- Meat portions are great. Asada is the best. Hooray for their vegan options. Don't be afraid of ordering to-go. I pass by Garduno's on the corner of Vineland and Pacific every day on my commute to and from work. I was interested in this place because of their vegan options. I'm not a vegan and never will be, but I like trying vegan food because it's always something new. Most of their tacos are $1.79. I tried the pollo (chicken), asada (beef), and pastor (pork). Their vegan tacos contain either cauliflower or jackfruit. I got both ($1.95 each). A total of 11 tacos was enough to feed my parents and I ($21.92 after tax). Pollo ($1.79): I ordered this without any toppings/extras. I didn't actually know what it came with, but I'll ask next time. As it was, it was literally just plain chicken on a tortilla. Not bad, but I thought it was a bit drier than I expected. Asada ($1.79): My favorite taco from the ones I tried. I was disappointed that this didn't come with more toppings (only saw a few onions and bits of cilantro) but holy heck, this has to be one of my favorite asada tacos I've tried. The meat is so flavorful I could honestly just eat it on its own. It actually tastes flavorful, not just full of salt. I'm definitely going to be ordering more asada stuff here. Pastor ($1.79): Pretty good pastor, can't go wrong. I ate this taco when I was dying from the spicy salsa (spicy only to me because I'm a weakling when it comes to spicy) so I missed half the taste, but it wasn't bad. Would probably order again. Jackfruit ($1.95): Too much sauce, but better to disguise the jackfruit taste with. Texture is like mushy meat. Somehow the jackfruit's sweetness (or was it the salsa they had?) gave the taco a bit of a sweet taste. In my opinion, jackfruit tastes like durian smells but I don't like jackfruit although I like durian. Cauliflower ($1.95): Love the texture of cauliflower. I had a bite or two where the cauliflower tasted slightly off, but I couldn't pinpoint why. Would totally go with this as a favorite vegan taco option, though. Then again, I love cauliflower. One thing I love about this place is that they don't skimp on the meat. My dad kept emphasizing how much meat there was in every taco and how impressed he was. These tacos are definitely filling. On the other hand, my dad was super disappointed that there weren't more condiments/onions/cilantro/etc. There were barely any in the tacos we got. And because the devil is in the details, I was impressed by how they wrapped the tacos because I ordered them to-go. The tacos looked like burgers when wrapped, so I couldn't imagine how they wrapped them and was afraid all the tacos would be smashed together and upside down. But when I flipped the wrappings upside down to open them, I opened each wrapper to find three tacos nestled side by side and right side up. No need to worry about any messes or fallen toppings/meats. Miscellaneous notes: There was plenty of parking available at 6:30 pm on a Monday and it usually doesn't seem busy when I drive by. There is a small indoor dining area in addition to an outdoor dining area. They also offer free wifi, which is pretty neat. read more

Underwhelming taco stand in metro LA where I have high expectations for Mexican eats. First off, this place was slow. Took 15 minutes to make 4 tacos when I was the only one in line at 11 am. The ladies who worked were very nice though. The taco meat, al pastor in this case, was swimming in grease and almost pork jerky tough. The salsa verde was pretty tasteless.
