WOW my order was delicious!!! I order two things tonight, vegan chili (soy) cheese fries (asked for the chips to be extra crispy and cheese on the side). The reason is because before when we arrived home the fries were soggy. The other thing was my first time having the potato taquitos. 3 potato taquitos for one order, side of guacamole and chips too! This was very yummy! New thing I notice is that the dining area is back open. So come and enjoy your food in the dine in area. So far all the vegan food I've tried has been tasty, but I'm slowly transitioning to Whole Foods and Plant based only. Food is amazing here!! You gotta try the vegan chili cheese fries if you come here!! Their vegan cheese is super creamy and yummy! I was CRAVING some chili cheese fries and I haven't had vegan chili cheese fries in a long time so Gardunos chili cheese fries really hit the spot! The fries are nice and thick and the vegan meat in chili is soo good. I believe it's impossible! The portions of huge here too! I had the fries for dinner and lunch the next day! I love Gardunos! It's not close to my house but is close-ish to my boyfriends house so we eat here when I'm visiting. I've tried a few vegan items, and they have all been good. The last time I went, I tried the vegan chili cheese fries, and I was in love with them. A long time ago, pre-vegan days, I used to love going to those burger joints and getting the best chili cheese fries ever. It's been very hard to find a vegan version of those kinds of fries. Lots of places have chili cheese fries, but they are skinny fries or have some unique sauce on it. These are very close to those chili cheese fries of my dreams. There's good and bad to this place. The vegan options here are great for any vegetarian or vegan. When I was vegetarian I was pleasantly surprised with the food here. Over the last year I went back to eating meat and I thought I'd give this place a try on their steak tacos. Taco meat was chewy, overcooked, lacked seasoning and had too much fat per bite. A good taco has its meat cut and these tacos had too many pieces held together by fat. I like how they give chips with your order but it doesn't make up for the lack of execution on tacos. The best thing I can say about this place is their Horchata. It genuinely has some of the best Horchata I've ever had here. It takes like they've used a smoked or toasted cinnamon to give it a nice rich depth that I haven't had anywhere else. read more

I asked a friend who used to take me to a place in BP to get giant burritos as a kid where the place is (as I was too young to remember), as I really really really wanted to taste the nostalgia I used to have eating it. They said it is Gardunos. So I trekked over to BP and got some super combos to share with the the family and a cali burrito for the bf. I really wanted to love it, there was not much meat in the burritos (which is fine, because it is a combo) but the carne asada that they did have, had tons of inedible chewy bits in it that had to be spat out. I understand that carne sometimes has a tendon in it now and then, but I was having to spit out whole chunks it was that bad. All the carne asada in the burritos were the same. I'm sad it wasn't the childhood reunion I was expecting, my mom wouldn't even finish half a burrito because of the meat. How do you mess up a hamburger special? Bread, sauce, lettuce onion tomato beef patty followed by another bread. Pretty simple right? Not at Gardunos, apparently it take 35 minutes after you place your order for the staff to tell you that that they made a mistake on the combo and that they were going to have to start over again. No apologies, not even a complimentary plate of some nasty jackfruit Mexican dish. I spent my half hour lunch driving here, waiting for food that never came just to get back the money I just handed them. Horrible customer service on Thursday afternoon at 12:40pm on 1/21/2021. The manager who issued the refund didn't even acknowledge me when providing the refund. Just completed the transaction and returned the cash, very robotic with no empathy what so ever. No wonder machines are replacing us. I am a patron of this establishment and I am disappointed to say that I will not be returning until they teach the staff some customer service skills. read more

I have gotten this place quite a few times on GrubHub and have been pleasantly surprised by the taste, quality, and price. The tacos are only a few dollars each and are a really good size. I live on Vineland and they were closed down for a bit but the owner said they did this to renovate and update the menu. My sister is vegan and I like to eat vegan food to 2/3 out of days of the week so when we came here two weeks ago we haven't stopped coming back. Here's the reasons why.. And yes their vegam menu taste good. The issue I had a lot with other places trying to replicate that authentic Mexican culinary tastes for vegans I haven't found yet, up until now!!!!!! Everything else is great to have everything from Burgers to plates to even street-style tacos that have very exotic and a authentic spices and veggies if you want to try something different than your usual carne asada burrito or nachos.... Their horchata here is my favorite They do not skip out on servings at all in fact the burritos if I wanted to I can have that for lunch and save the other half for dinner because that's how big they are. But me being a foodie I eat the whole thing in one sitting even though I'm overly stuff it's that good! There's something called the super combo burrito that burrito as long as my forearm. In this picture that I posted its the Al Pastor California Burrito. The difference with all the burritos is the California Burrito has fries in the burrito. So you know how when you want carne asada fries they basically made carne asada fries and stuffed it into burrito and may I say it's amazing it's kind of like las papas with everything else. They've really upped their game with the vegan menu options, which you would never expect at an establishment like this. The staff is super friendly, helpful, and efficient. The outside seating is clean and updated with colorful seating and clean tables. There's inside seating that I never use, but it's there if you'd rather sit inside. Been here many moons ago. Decided to give a try again. Everything here looks to be under 10 dollars. We ordered and spoke trough the intercom mic like it tells you. Got a carne asada torta, enchilada plate and a taco dorado plate. The torta in my opinion could have had more like lettuce and tomatoes, and the bread a little more toasted. The plates came with rice and beans and lots of cheese. Kids had no complaints except they wanted more. Lol. But what surprised me was how many people were ordering off the vegan menu. I think Gardunos has great staff and their food is pretty good but extremely over priced. I have noticed this for a while now. I'm not vegan but I do watch my meat intake. And while I know vegan food cost more this is not healthy vegan food and a jackfruit burrito with beans, small amount of avocado and rice is not worth $17. It's not that great or huge in size. I ordered two shredded beef tacos today at 3.99 each they barely had any meat (see picture. ) and this Is not the first time. Maybe I'm exaggerating because I'm pregnant and hungry but you be the judge. I have had their jackfruit tacos, vegan nachos and jackfruit burritos, which are really good. My son and husband has had their grilled cheese and breakfast burrito and both went in the trash. The breakfast burrito was mostly hash brown and the grill cheese was stiff barely any cheese and the bread was really dry. I have driven by here on many occasions and wouldn't have assumed they had vegan selections but I was mistaken, in a good way! I tried the Jackfruit Nachos for the first time and the plate was huge. The joy when I saw all the options! They even sell vegan cheese they make in a small container ! I have ordered a few things already i always call ahead of time and they always have the food ready when I arrive. Vegan Options in Baldwin Park! I have passed this spot so many times, but I recently heard that they started offering vegan menu items and I had to check it out. I ordered the Jackfruit nachos and they were amazing. I would only recommend looking into a vegan sour cream such as Tofutti or making a cashew based crema, I feel like that would take the nachos to the next level. I am forever grateful for the vegan option and will come back to try the other vegan tacos and quesadillas. Garduños you impressed me. I had the taquitos de papa (potato taquitos) they were absolutely delicious. They were small, they were a good portion for me at least. I also had a regular taco for my husky. The quality of food is good and they are quick. The staff is friendly and kind. I had had their chips and salsa. Loved the salsa, anything spicy I love. Good salsa makes the food taste that much better. I'm not from the area but my friends live around there, I will definitely going back. Everything was bomb, I loved my champurrado, tastes almost like the real deal but a little less thick, still amazing though. But, one thing this restaurant lacks is employee's with better attitudes. The customer service here as always been horrible no matter the time of day.
