Styrofoam to go boxes stacked up, ready to go within minutes of a customer ordering. Which is a good thing for us customers because there is no wait for our food but bad for the food sitting there in styrofoam boxes, like a hot clam, slowly sweating the chemicals from the styrofoam into our "delicious" meals. $3.50 for their tocino meal ? Sure, why not. Tocino wasn't the greatest, tasted like gas fumes (yes, like the smell of gas fumes in taste form). Big amount of garlic rice, small poached egg that was perfectly cooked that when you mix it around with your garlic rice; the flavors just go hand and hand. I really enjoy ordering food here for the price and quantity. As terrible as it sounds, I would enjoy the occasional visits to Gateway Kitchen after training at FTCC a couple shops down the street. They sell a variety of Filipino dishes and the portions you receive for the amount you pay is unreasonable (unreasonably good that is!) However, this place does get extremely busy and it is obvious the atmosphere and ambiance is not a 5-star restaurant. I would suggest to try their Longsilong, Tocino, and Bangus dishes. I live in South San Francisco so going to Superstar is not the most convenient option. In comes Gateway Kitchen. Convenient, same menu and service, cleaner (a lot of things are cleaner than superstar), and easier to find parking. My personal favorite is the Hong Kong Style pork chops. So bad, but O SO GOOD. I get my grandparents toyo with a side of bangos. So much more convenient and cleaner and less smelly than making it yourself. Their garlic rice is really garlic rice, not like other places. However, EVERYONE from NorCal and people from SoCal who've been there RAVE about this small little place. I was hungry and the aroma from the Garlic Fried Rice was making me salivate. First of all, one order could've fed me, the hubby and our 5 year old! There was so much food for like under $5!!!!! We finally, go to our seats at AT&T, opened up our bags of food and munched away. I'm not a big fan of pork, but the way they make their Hong Kong Style Pork Chops, OMG. This was delicious. Not much of a choice on the menu but their food is amazing and portions are big for the price. I am a huge fan of their garlic rice, and their pork chops are huge. I used to enjoy the food until i came across a disgusting view of containers of rice scattered around the restaurant (if you look behind the counter youll see them laying around the kitchen, there were some outside the restroom door too YUCK) its very upsetting because ive eaten the food a number of times overlooking the grease and how the restaurant looked because of the price. Honestly I chose to give this place another chance, a friend of mine and i ate there and i took an order of the chops to go to give to a co worker. after an hour, when she was gonna eat the food, she noticed that the rice had a weird texture to it so she called me over.
