The food is consistent to the level that you would expect for a chain such as gators. They are unbeatable for gamedays though!

There were three dead bar flies at the bottom of my drink. I was then told that they must've flown in during the small pour. Amazing that all three drowned so quickly. Gators is a welcome addition to Baldwin Park. The prices are reasonable and the wings are fantastic. I prefer the grilled Gators Own Hot with a couple 4 Alarm Suicide to put me over the top. I used to love this chain! I used to drive to the Waterford Lakes location and I've always been satisfied with both the food and the service. When the location at Baldwin Park opened, I was overjoyed because this location is more conveniently located for me. The first time I went I was super surprised with how fast the service was. The last few times I've gone have been so bad that I honestly could never eat here again. The service was extremely slow, it took 90 minutes just to get seated, I partially want to attribute that to the fact that the hostess may or may not be slightly racist. There were African American patrons in my group and we were seated, only after having complained 3 times. Groups that were larger then mine were seated immediately and the only difference was that those patrons were Caucasian. I could look past the horrible hostess service, but then the waitress was slow, and rude, the food took forever to come out and it was cold. I also was served uncooked chicken. Too the new manager, when two people order food and only one gets there meal and you come out with a $5 coupon in there food and you say " I've heard you had bad experience like this before here. Here's a $5 dollars off. " O Wait the coupon is stuff inside my fries. Really come on. Please note it's not sanitary to put a business card in someone's food that they're about to eat. It's your standard American chain sports bar. The food is fried or beefy, and it's pretty tasty. There are TVs everywhere and cold beer. The location is really nice right on Lake Baldwin. Parking is hard to find, but plentiful (it's in the middle of the blocks of buildings). I like the fried pickle chips there; not many other places nearby you can get them. My main complaint though is that the boneless wings are way overpriced. Charging more than $1.00 per piece for what are essentially upscale chicken nuggets is ridiculous. Last time I went, they were a bit under-sauced as well. Generally, this place is exactly what you expect it to be: decidedly average and well-branded by corporate. read more

My Friday lunch started after 2 pm and I found the place busy with a number of 1's and 2's along with a (very) loud group. Late lunch...busy with a group and loud I started with the Balsamic Chips appetizer which arrived quickly, were tasty and plentiful. My Winger Wrap arrived some time later complete with tired lettuce and fries that were cool and looking less than appetizing. Given the opportunity I'd pass on the wrap and stick with the app only...disappointing and a sign of some inconsistencies in the kitchen. My server, Christine, checked back regularly with a smile in spite of being pretty busy. She was definitely the highlight of the experience. Good spot to hang out and watch a game. The food is decent, I've gotten the wings multiple times. I would actually recommend the grilled wings personally. Also, the sauces really aren't as spicy as they say they are. I say this as someone who is incredibly sensitive to spicy food. I've tried their medium sauces and it doesn't really effect me much at all as well as their medium-hot sauces which do have a little kick to them. The first time the wings were undercooked. The manager gave me $25 discount for the future. I came back to give it another shot and the wings were subpar. I got the all you can eat, so i tried three different orders and some had red streaks in them and others just didn't taste all the way done. The steak bites were good although the sauce was not. Id hate to give Gator's a 1 star, but they deserve it. If you look at my past reviews, I've only given 1's for 2 places. One place killed my dog, and the other cost me a vehicle. The inexperience in the service industry is blatantly obvious at Gators. It was a very nice Sunday, the weather was great. I told my wife, lets find a great place to eat outdoors. We decided on Gators. We have been to the previous establishment that was located there, which was OK. We were hoping with the new tenants, the experience would be better. Unfortunately the experience was worse. We were greeted by the hostess, and asked if we could sit outside. She stated there were no seats available outside. As she said that, I saw a waitress outside was cleaning off a table. I pointed that out and I said, "I see a table opened up, can we sit there?" She told us NO, because she had been instructed not to sit anyone else outside as they were busy. I said fine, we can sit inside. Not even 2 minutes after we sat, I saw another hostess sit 2 guys outside. Another couple came in right after and got sat outside. I had also noticed there was a bar outside with empty seats. By this time I was fairly frustrated and decided I was going to pay for my first beer and leave. As I drank my beer I saw a manager pass by. I waved my hand to flag him down, but I was ignored. I did eventually see the hostess that sat us down walk by and flagged her over. I asked her what was the criteria to sit outside because Ive seen several people get sat out there but we were told we couldn't. She stated she was following instructions to not sit anyone else outside therefore did not seat us outside. From my point of view, that was unacceptable and should be transparent to the customer. I would have been willing to wait but wasn't given an option to. She attempted to "right" the situation by saying in snarkey way, "DO YOU WANT ME TO SIT YOU OUTSIDE?" By that time I was done with her unwarranted attitude and told her I was done here. She stated abruptly "HAVE A NICE DAY" and walked away. My server by the way was nice and I did not screw her on tip. I only didnt order any food or any further beers as I refused to spend anymore money at that place due the horrible attitude of the hostess. I planned to have lunch but ended up deciding to find another place. As I cashed out, we got up and left. On out way out I got this extremely dirty look by the same hostess. I asked my wife if she saw that, and she confirmed. It was a very nasty look. That definitely confirmed I would never visit Gators again. Its amazing for an area such as Baldwin Park where there is very high turn over for restaurants closing that I would get that sort of treatment. You have to step it up and keep your customers Baldwin Park! This sort of attitude is not going to fly. I give Gators another 6 months before they end up closing like the previous owners. Maybe I will come back when the next restaurant opens up in that location.Otherwise that hostess needs to be let go. She doesn't need to be in the service industry. read more

This place just opened during the weekend of 10/18/2013, and it is awesome. Huge screen tvs all over the place, the bar is indoor outdoor with lake view. Great food, always a fun crowd, specially on football Sundays. Great wings, service top notch. I went three nights in a row during opening weekend because we just had a great experience. Idk what i expected it is more of a sports bar than anything. But honestly if you want really good fried pickles go to Vanbarry's Public House on Orange Ave. You want good quesadillas go to an authentic mexican restaurant. If you want good wings go to a Buffalo Wild Wings, you want great salads go to Marlow's Tavern, if you want good sandwiches or subs just visit a jersey mikes. Overall the experience was okay, the food was sub-par, wings came out wrong. The service was as good as it could be when dealing with a kitchen that sends that kind of food out. The server was the only thing that kept me from giving a 1 star review. The old manager with a grey beard was not only rude to me, but very rude to certain staff members. I'm not going to say his actions reflected sexism, but I will say the only employees I saw him treat fairly, had vaginas. Save your time and money and go to another sports bar. read more

The only thing that you need to know is all you can eat wings on monday starting at 6pm! This is a go to monday dinner for me and my friends but I recommend getting there as close to 6 as you can because some weeks can end up getting pretty busy. I believe its about ~$12 for the all you can eat wings (ranch/blue cheese dressing are extra). My favorite sauces are medium bbq, traditional, parmesan garlic, and scooter every once in a while. My girlfriend and I stopped in for an early dinner on a Monday evening. I had never been to this location but the outdoor area was pretty nice although we had to change tables twice due to wobbly tables. Our waitress was prompt but definitely not friendly. Beer came out in chilled glasses even though we both orered premium beer. I could see the chilled glasses for a bud light but not for what we ordered. The beer selection was actually better than i remembered for a gators. I had the all you can eat wings which were pretty good. All said and done, I'd probably visit again. read more

The "fanciest" location I've seen from Gator's but it fits in well for Baldwin Park. I'm a chicken wing fanatic and I haven't found any better than Gator's Dockside. Definitely order them grilled! I recommend the Scooter sauce(my favorite and most popular), Teriyaki, and Gator's own Hot (traditional buffalo wing sauce). On Monday nights from 6-10PM they have All you can eat Wings for 11.99... If you are like me and can eat 50-60 wings on a good night (your saving money even if you eat 20) then this is the jackpot! Also for desert, I recommend the "Chocolate Heaven" :) read more

My boyfriend and I do lunch here probably once a month because his office is right down the road. Every time we come to this location, the staff is always friendly. On one visit in particular, my boyfriend accidentally knocked over his (nearly full) beer because he talks with his hands a lot. The gentleman behind the bar did not hesitate to come walking around immediately with a towel and a waitress (not even ours) asked what beer he was drinking and brought him a new one. They didn't even charge us for the spilled beer. This is just one example of this location's excellent customer service. The food is always great here and if you're coming for lunch, you can usually get in and out in 45 minutes (if you're not in a rush and if you are, you could probably make it out in 30). Great spot on the lake too. If the weather is decent, sit outside. It can be chilly inside so it helps to bring a light sweater. read more

We have come to gators dockside plenty of times. We particularly love the baldwin park location because of scenery and on a date night it's great to be able to walk around the lake. Tonight we came in to prepare to go see a movie. We have two bartenders one male one female. The female didnt start taking care of us.. We asked for a beer from another employee because she never greated us, then when we were ready for an appetizer we had to flag her down and ask her if we could order and app. She says sure. We ask for sauce on the side and that is the only contact had with her. We had not been talked to her again . If it wasn't for the male bartender John we would have left. My spouse being the manager of a restaurant and myself working a server and bartender position. My dive bar gives better service then the bartender I encountered tonight. Bartenders should be more then just talking to people because your a girl and think your getting tipped because your cute. Give good service and I would've tipped the whole tab or more. It wouldn't be our first time doing so. It's not the company's fault, but maybe keep a closer eye on who you employ. It could make or brake your business (or location).
