Soft opening special! $5.99 wonton soup & BBQ pork plate until the end of the month
    Mimi L.

Very friendly and clean restaurant. They share a parking lot so somewhat limited parking. There are about 8 four-seater tables so seating can be limited at busy times. I had their wonton noodle soup, cha siu, & duck. Their wonton soup was such a good deal at $5.99 (until the end of the month for their soft opening special). Their duck was not bad and their cha siu was alright. Some of the cha siu pieces had a good roasted flavor, but it wasn't consistent with every piece. However, this is the restaurant's soft opening so I know they are still working out some kinks. I also heard that this menu is their soft opening menu and that it may change down the line. I will definitely be back for their wonton noodle soup. Best bang for your buck that I've seen around. The wontons themselves were very tasty with a whole shrimp inside.

Good prices and good portions but my mother and I aren't fans. - wonton noodle soup: overcooked noodles and wontons. My veggies also needed an extra rinse, there was quite a bit of dirt still embedded within the leaves. The soup and wontons lacked flavor. - bbq pork rice: bbq pork was good. I got some really good marbling on my pieces. My plate looked a bit less than what other people got. Need to be more consistent on what's put on plates. - 3 combo plate: chose chicken, roasted pork, and duck. The duck had a good flavor but was mostly bone and some pieces were pretty pale, needed to be roasted better. The chicken was a hard pass. Slimy and no good flavor. Roasted pork was nice and crispy but the meat felt dry and it was just ok. FYI, come at least an hr after opening I'd you want more bbq offerings. The roasted pork and chicken weren't ready when we ordered but we're slow eaters and didn't mind waiting.

This place exceeded my expectations! Amazing food and great service! The roast pork was crispy, and the char siu was perfectly sweet and tender. The portions were generous, and everything came out quickly. The staff was friendly, and the restaurant was clean. Great prices for the quality of food. Highly recommend!

$5.99 for wonton noodle soup or bbq pork rice?? You can't beat those prices nowadays. I believe these prices are only during their soft promo in May but I hope they keep it at that price if possible. The flavor in the bbq pork was solid and the meat was juicy. They have plenty of seatings and they do share a small parking lot with other surrounding stores. But you can just park on the street and walk over. Service was great and our server immediately greeted us and handed us our menus to order. Definitely check them out!

$5.99 for wonton noodles & $5.99 for bbq pork rice!! Need I say more? lol I shall continue... Not only the price was good, but the foods were good! The portions were good. Service was good! lol so I guess everything about this place was good I prefer the egg noodles that they offered than the thin egg noodles. They also give a good amount of wontons. It wasn't just plain noodles & wontons. They even added some greens in the bowl. Flavor was pretty decent. The bbq pork rice was not bad at all. The pork was flavorful. Had some greens. Rice was good. Meats had some burnt spots...still good. This place was a bit outta the way for me. However, for such good deals, I don't mind coming back.

Tried this new restaurant during their soft opening and was really impressed. Their soft opening special Wonton Noodle Soup is only $5.99 and comes with 5 fresh shrimp wontons packed with pork and whole shrimp. The broth had a comforting, classic Cantonese flavor. We also got the 2-item combo with crispy pork belly and roasted duck for $12.99. Great portion size and hard to beat these prices in the San Gabriel Valley. The crispy pork belly was especially good -- crispy skin, juicy, and flavorful. Highly recommend this place and will definitely be coming back!

What can you get for $5.99 these days? Well at the newly opened GD Tasty on Lower Azusa in El Monte, a couple of things--à plate of charshu rice or an order of wonton noodle soup. And a variety of rice plates and noodle soup if you'd rather have something else.

Won Ton has shrimp in it. So they did not go cheap

What a bargain 5.99 for 5 peace of wonton . 15.99 3 meat combo, just a bit salty. Service was good. Came here at 12 p.m. in the afternoon on Sunday not that busy. Family runned business. Best of luck to them

My fiancé and I genuinely love this Chinese restaurant. I met the owner Charles and quite frankly their roasted pork belly & bbq pork are out of this world. Their roasted duck is quite phenomenal when it's fresh and crispy. Charles always takes care of us with his superb large portion. We just ordered their salt and pepper chicken wings. All I have to say is super delicious. I love watching the Netflix movies there it's so quaint just to relax there.

Good price . Good tasting food. Did not skim on the portion.

This Temple City location seemed to have turned over a few times over the years before AK took over. There is a lot in the back that is almost identical to Shaw Mei's/Kang Kang Food Court just down the street. Both lots are inadequate for the popularity of the businesses they serve and parking can be challenging. If you enter from the back lot, restrooms are to the right as you enter AK. The menu has some familiar items and some unique ones. We specifically came to try their sandwich made on a pineapple bun or Bolo Bao. There were a few choices of meat including chicken and beef. We got the Satay Beef or Sha Cha Niu Rou. It came with a fried egg and tomato. The sandwich was very good and enough for a meal. They also had "thick" sandwiches with several choices of meat. We got the fried fish. It was something like what a Filet O Fish at McDonalds aspires to be because AK is a far superior version. The fish portion was generous, crispy, and a much higher quality than Micky D's. There was some sort of coleslaw sauce instead of Micky D's tartar sauce and AK's coleslaw sauce had a unique and very good flavor. The sandwich was also big enough for a meal. We also got their curry fish ball dish because it is a favorite of ours. Unlike most other places that only give you either boiled or fried fish balls, AK gave you both. It did not come with rice, so we asked for some and our server was shocked, but gave it to us without complaining. The space the restaurant sits in is quite big. It was moderately to somewhat crowded and noisy on our visit. While the main lady who helped us was friendly and fairly efficient, some of the other servers and customers gave us the typical dirty looks because we are a mixed couple. Four stars for quality of food, but one star deduction for obviously being prejudice. Overall, we would come back here because the food was good, but recommend you come with a Chinese speaker to order like we have in the family or the service is likely to be worse.

Also with a choice of side of pasta or rice. We chose the pasta. It was a lot of food but made really well. Definitely recommend coming here they do get really busy, we got there at 5pm on a Friday and it was not busy. But as we were leaving they were starting to fill up.

I ordered the hot Hong Kong milk tea. Both milk teas were delicious--no complaints at all! We both ordered their jook and for our appetizers, we ended up trying all four options since each combo lets you choose two appetizers. Everything was yummy and the portions were generous enough for two people. If you're a party of three and aren't big eaters, I'd recommend ordering just two breakfast combos. The side of rice noodle rolls with sauce was quite filling, as was the giant bowl of congee. The pork chop was tender and not too tough to chew. The noodle soup was light. I just discovered the ultimate hidden gem in LA's Cantonese dessert scene! Nine Square Dessert is genuinely mind-blowing--every single bite completely blows my mind! Signature Fresh Coconut Jelly I cannot recommend this enough! It is absolute perfection! Smooth and silky on the tongue, with a texture so impossibly rich and velvety it feels like coconut-flavored panna cotta! The sweetness is super restrained, letting the pure, intense natural coconut flavor shine through. The absolute best part is the top layer: covered in coconut flakes and golden, crispy toasted coconut chips that add an incredible "crunch-crunch" texture and bring it to a whole new level! Long-lasting, rich flavor after every bite--it completely ruins every other coconut jelly I've ever had! Coconut Milk Peach Gum & Snow Bird's Nest with Taro Balls Literally top-tier! The coconut milk base is rich and fragrant, and the taro balls are insanely chewy and bouncy--like little ping pong balls bouncing around in your mouth! The peach gum is stewed until smooth and velvety, gliding across your palate with a rich coconut aroma. The layers of texture are incredible and so fun--you honestly can't stop eating it! Mango Pomelo Sago The ultimate classic Cantonese dessert, and they nailed it! The mango puree is so silky and smooth that the moment you bite into it, an explosion of intense mango flavor bursts in your mouth with zero fiber--just pure, velvety perfection. The juicy pomelo sacs are the absolute star, perfectly balancing the mango's sweetness while elevating both flavors into a magical synergy. It is SO juicy!! I was completely lost in dessert heaven! If you love Cantonese desserts, go check it out with your eyes closed. These three are absolute must-orders--you'll be thanking me later! A Little Bonus: What touched me wasn't just the amazing desserts. The moment I walked through the door, a quote on the wall hit me right in the feelings: "The world can be a bit bitter, so I want to give you a little sweetness." For anyone getting off work, walking in here feels like being wrapped in a warm embrace by a friendly stranger.
