    2 Meat 2 Sides

Gee's barbecue = the definition of TENDER. Ordered the 2 meat, 2 sides plate and chose the brisket & tri-tip for meats and kale slaw & garlic noodles for sides + watermelon Agua Fresca. The brisket was my favorite of the two meats & highly reminiscent of Texas bbq. I also tried to the order the Picanha, but it was sold out by afternoon. My favorite side was the kale slaw and the little bit of mashed potatoes that I tried. The watermelon Agua Fresca was very refreshing. Gee's shares a space with a taco place that also sells desserts, a gas station, and various food trucks surround the nearby area. I highly recommend going to Gee's for a little foodie adventure!

I travel to Texas quite a bit, and I can honestly say Gee's BBQ is right up there with some of the best Texas BBQ I've had. The brisket is fantastic, but if you can, get there early for the burnt ends--they're incredibly popular and often sell out by noon. The dino ribs are an absolute must-order. They're smoky, tender, and worth every bite. And if you want to balance things out just a little, don't skip the kale slaw. It's fresh, flavorful, and the perfect side. One tip: the lines can get long, especially on weekends. Save yourself some time and order through the app before you head over. If you're craving authentic Texas-style barbecue in Orange County, Gee's should be at the top of your list.

One of the best bbq I've had, the meat is so tender it just melts in your mouth. My husband has been talking about this place for a while, I am so glad we got to go today on empty stomach. It's hard find because of the sign but it's in the back of the famous Papi's tacos which we found out it owns by the same people. The guy that took out had the biggest smile and very friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]You have option to sit outside in the shade or inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] And if you are looking for a Halal bbq place which is very rare to find don't look too far because this is it. I would go here again and again. We had the brisket sandwich and beef sausage sandwich, since it was so tasty we had to go for 2nd and order the beef ribs with the sides of Mac & cheese and potato salad (yummy).

Tried Gee's Barbecue in Santa Ana and ordered the two meat, two side combo with the brisket, picanha, kale coleslaw, and mac & cheese, plus a Dino rib. Overall, the barbecue was just okay not the best I've had. The mac & cheese was a little underwhelming and didn't really stand out. The highlight of the meal was definitely the Dino rib. It was flavorful, tender, and easily the star of the plate. I'd come back for the Dino rib, but I'd probably try different sides and meat next time . The wait wasn't too long maybe 20 min total but I did get there right when they opened .

Very good barbecue. Tucked away in the side of a gas station this place is hammering out barbecue and delicious sides. Mac and cheese is great. Dino ribs are good. Staff was very friendly and [[HIGHLIGHT]]there is plenty of seating door and outdoor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Side note, the smoked fried rice was delicious.

The highlight of the meal was definitely the Dino ribs. They were incredibly juicy, tender, and literally fell off the bone. The brisket and picanha were also tender, flavorful, and cooked well. The mac and cheese was rich and creamy, while the kale slaw was fresh and refreshing, making it a great complement to the barbecue. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was plenty of outdoor seating available, which was nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]However, there were a lot of flies, making it difficult to enjoy the meal without constantly trying to keep them away.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I was a bit taken aback by how this joint was a combination of a Mexican restaurant plus a barbecue spot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The overall ambiance of this space is alright considering how the only seating is outside and the wait is definitely pretty long.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food itself is actually really delicious. I have to say that the meats were smoked well, had a great deal of flavor, and the sides with the noodles are what really got me wanting to go back again. Who would have thunk rice and noodles go well with smoked barbecue.

This place is probably the BEST BBQ I've ever had!!! It's right behind a gas station but you will definitely know when you're there. There's either a long line and the most heavenly BBQ smell right when you pull up. Food: 1000000 stars!!! We got the Dino rib, picanha beef, beef brisket, Mac and cheese, and fried rice. Everything was fantastic and the Dino ribs was fall off the bone!!! The BBQ sauce was simple and perfect. It didn't take away from the taste of the meat! If I would change anything, maybe less oil on the fried rice. But even that the flavor was there. Service: Five stars!!! They take their time and answer questions. They also make suggestions. They bring the food out to you when it's ready. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance: Five stars! Outdoor shaded or non shaded seating in the back. Paper plates and utensils are on the side of the window for you to grab[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I will definitely return!!!

Finally got to try Gee's after months of silent internet creeping. I enjoy smoking meats but sometimes, eating other people's smokes just tastes better. And less effort. More sleep. And every smoker has a different method and it's great to try them all. Ordered 2ct of the 2 meats + 2 sides + Gee's pudding. Brisket; got some dry pieces, probably reheated way too many times. Was looking forward to solid brisket but man, disappointment. Beef ribs; felt a bit ripped off with this (see picture). Meat was also dry/overcooked/reheated too much Chicken; hard to mess up. The only moist meat of the plate But sides, pretty darn phenomenal. Potato salad had texture -red onions and pickles and dill -i usually hate dill but this potato salad was done so well. Mac n cheese, probably the best mac n cheese ive had in a long time. Dirty noodles -not a fan of this but my friend enjoyed it. Thin noodles with brisket pieces. Dirty fried rice, why didnt I think of this. Exceptional smoke and I would love a tray of this at parties. Gee's pudding: solid dessert. Thank goodness no nasty bananas in this pudding. No cornbread here -just pre packaged dinner rolls. Picanha and tri tip were sold out -expected since I came on a Sunday evening. I should've visited on a Friday or even Saturday for better smokes/options. But from this experience, Gee's is solid, wouldn't be my first pick but still good if in area.

the Internet was right, this place is great. it's a little funky location. Gee's shares 1/2 of a gas station convenience store with another restaurant...Papi Tacos & Churros. You go around to the left side of te building to order at the walk up window. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is plenty of outside table seating around back.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was fast and friendly. I ordered the two meat plate which includes 2 sides. For the meat, brisket (the most tender, juiciest brisket I have ever had). And the beef jalapeño, cheese sausage, which was very flavorful. The sides were excellent. This is a hidden jam that is worth another trip.

Came here right at open to try their bbq. Since I wanted to sample some of the different meats, I shared two of the two item plates with my husband. We got brisket x2, beef ribs and a sausage. Sides included mac n cheese x2, potato salad and smoky fried rice. Everything was good but the standout was the brisket. The meat was super tender and you can taste the smokiness. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Seating is outdoors with adequate shade and water bottles were available in a cooler.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Sides are a definite filler. Will get meat by the pound next time as try one of their dino ribs. Parking can be curbside and their are limited spaces on the other side of the gas station.

Brisket and sausage plus Mac & Cheese and Potato Salad
    Rick S.

Tasty and delicious at Gee's BBQ is only available in Fri-Sun. The best deal is the two meat plus two mini sides for$28 (one meat plus two sides for $20). The brisket was so juicy and moist; I can't wait to eat it again. The staff at the window were friendly and welcoming. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is airy and bright as if you're transported to Texas.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They do have a few smokers in the back area. Parking available in the Chevron lot or on the street. Highly recommended!

I'm not a fan of BBQ usually so it needs to be *pretty* good for me to even consider it. I've been here several times with friends and honestly, it's good. I'm not a huge meat eater, but I did try all the meats. I thought the brisket and the ribs were really good, but I especially liked the sausage. I know my friends liked everything and they keep coming back!!

It was a late lunch so I called to see if a reservation is needed for 2 ppl. Not at all so we jumped into the car. Such a wonderful restaurant in an unassuming plaza. Lots of parking. There's an outdoor seating area and a good size restaurant inside. We were greeted as we walked in. Btw, the HUGE glass door entrance, I love. There Were a few open tables and we were welcome to sit where we wanted to. Two classes of water were brought to the table and a waiter came with the menu. My mom is vegetarian and I am not. I asked the waiter for his vegetarian dishes and he provided me a pasta dish. That was exactly what my Mom was wanting. Linguine with a light pink sauce with mushrooms and you can add zucchini, bell pepper and broccoli. I ordered a sangria. That was just amazing itself. And a linguine dish with shrimp. Warm, sliced French bread and a small dish of butter was brought out first that was so good. Usually the bread and butter that is brought at small restaurants like these could be just mediocre or not good at all. This was warm and just tasty. We also ordered a Caprese. The plate came out with big chunks of mozzarella tomatoes, and both were sitting on a marinated pesto covered set of basil leaves. That was so good. The combination of the vinaigrette, mozzarella basil tomato pesto was exactly what we were looking for so refreshing. Our entrées were huge for $20 a plate. We had to take 3/4 of it home. That was so not expected. Pasta and the pasta sauce were amazing. Very freshly made. Dishes were made to order only and not sitting around. I asked if they were doing something special for birthdays and I pointed to my mom next to you know, the waiter came out with fresh homemade Tim. They also sing to my mom wish she was so sweet. I am loving this place and will be coming back. Thank you so much for the staff for making my mom feel so wonderful on her birthday. The food was amazing Services amazing. Restaurant felt warm the moment we walked in and so welcoming.

The parking is easy in a small shopping center,, we didn't even need to use Pym particles to shrink the car to fit into a spot. There is indoor and outdoor seating, so we chose outdoor seating, so we could dine in alfresco and the service was excellent. Both the main server and her assistant consistently checked in on us and made sure our drinks were filled. Service is very friendly and they basically had Spidey-sense for exactly when we needed refills. We ordered their chef special steak, which is an Argentinian grilled ribeye, but with an Italian sauce. We also ordered the shrimp, which is also a fusion of Argentinian and Italian. The flavor team-up was so good it felt like Tony Stark and Bruce Banner working together in the lab. For an appetizer, we got an empanada. This is one of the best empanadas we've had, as the crust was very airy and crispy, but not heavy and overly dense. Excellent texture and flavor,, honestly mighty enough to lift Thor's hammer tbh. Also, ordered Argentinian sausages. Excellent texture and bold flavor. It may not have a spicy kick as an Italian sausage, but quality meat and insides. Dr Strange would happily take us on a tour inside and out of this sausage with his yellow portal openers. Oh wait, we are the sausages, so guess he can't. Interestingly, enough, we didn't think that bread could be so excellent! We are big fans of French and Vietnamese style baguettes that are slightly crispy on the outside, but very light on the inside. The bread here was crispy on the outside, but also light and a little chewy on the inside, but in the best way possible. So it has its own flare and flavor. We asked, and they indeed bake this in-house, and you could definitely tell! They mentioned that they make their sandwiches with this baguette bread that is baked on premise and in-house, so we will definitely have to come back and try it again. That bread is basically the reality Infinity Stone of the menu. Excellent food, excellent service, and excellent ambience! Kinda as relaxing as chilling at the Avengers compound after a long mission.

We took advantage of the Friends and Family menu they provide on Mondays Only from 5:00 to closing. We sat at the beautiful bar and were watched over by Jacob. The wife had some special non-alcoholic drink that was very pretty and tasted great. I went with the VACA Tonic, an icy concoction made with gin. It was super refreshing and a nice way to start. This menu has selected tapas items that range in price from $8 to $19. We ordered the Pan Con Tomate ($8) which comes with sliced toasted bread slices, tomato pulp, a delicious olive oil and a side of sea salt. You take a piece of toast, squirt some of the olive oil on top, then pour on the tomato pulp. Light, tasty and delicious. Next up, the Patatas Bravas ($9). Perfectly roasted spicy potato cubes, slathered with tomato sauce and a garlic aioli. WOW! So simple yet so good. I licked the plate clean. Next up, the Bikini Sandwich ($9). Two small perfectly toasted cheesy sandwich wedges that have Iberico ham, manchego cheese and a hint of truffles. It was really delicious and the special ham was the star of the show. These are great starting items, yet surprisingly filling. I couldn't stop there though and wanted to order some of their famous paella. I decided on the Paella De Carne ($53). This is a meat paella with pork belly, chorizo, blood sausage, duck confit (a leg & thigh), beef cheek, with bomba rice and a garlic aioli. You have to wait about 20 minutes for them to make it but it's worth the wait. It was perfectly cooked and awash in flavor. The special paella pan they prepare the dish in looked well seasoned and I wished I could have taken it home. The menu is extensive with lots of choices to accommodate any palate. The restaurant is beautiful and has a front and back patio seating. If you have a choice, sit on the back patio. There is valet parking for $12, but there is a parking structure right across the street that provides easy access and is free with validation.

They have Spanish menu items, several tapas and main dishes. We got 4 wines and both loved with whites and reds! La bola (8.5/10)-the meat inside was delicious wasn't overly crispy, sauce on top was too much but a classed dish Pani puri (9/10)-interesting concept scallop was delicious and sauce was rich, shell was crispy Cauliflower (7/10)-bit too salty and rich but they give you a good portion Steak (7.5/10)-we asked for medium but it was more in medium rare, good quality but small for price Churro (9/10)-cant beat a piping hot churro with chocolate sauce portion not too large Our server was friendly and vibe was classy Would love to try the paella my next visit!

If you are looking for a hidden gem in Costa Mesa, this spot is an absolute must-visit. From the…read moremoment you step inside, you are greeted by an adorable interior and decor that cleverly and beautifully matches the restaurant's theme. Every single item we ordered from the menu was exceptional: Beet Salad & Bone Marrow: Both made for fantastic starters, setting a high bar for the meal. Beef Tartare: Served with house-made potato chips that are a masterclass in texture--thin, fried, airy, and crispy all at the same time. Steak and Fries: Classic execution and wonderfully prepared. Duck Confit: Superb. The pairing of the rich mole sauce and sweet potato puree takes the dish to an entirely different level, complementing each other effortlessly. Baklava Cheesecake: A creative and delicious twist on a classic. The cream cheese filling is light rather than dense, and instead of a traditional graham cracker crust, it features a fantastic baklava crust. It is nicely balanced and not overly sweet, though you will definitely want to pair it with a cup of coffee to finish it off. Service: The staff is exceptionally friendly, highly attentive, and organized, making you feel well cared for throughout the meal. Portions: Portions are slightly on the smaller side. My husband and I ordered three appetizers and two main entrees to share, and we were still quite hungry by the end--so you may want to order an extra dish or side if you have a hearty appetite! Overall, a wonderful dining experience with incredible flavors and charming ambiance. Highly recommended!

It took a minute to locate the restaurant and figure out parking, but once we arrived at the door, the experience was first-class from beginning to end. The hostess was charming and welcoming, the staff kept our waters filled and the table spotless, and our server, Juan, was outstanding. His knowledge of the menu, detailed descriptions, and personal recommendations made ordering easy and built our anticipation for every dish. We started by sharing the beet salad and Chicken Tinga Empanadas with the Gringo Killer Sauce. The beet salad was fresh and beautifully balanced, while the empanadas were packed with rich, savory flavor. The Gringo Killer Sauce added a bold kick that made them especially memorable. My wife ordered the wedge salad, my daughter chose the Grilled Octopus Al Pastor, and I had the 8 oz Picanha special. Every dish was exceptional. The octopus was a creative and flavorful take on al pastor, and the Picanha special was perfectly cooked, tender and was an absolute standout. Everything was so impressive that I sent my compliments to the chef and was fortunate enough to meet Chef Jackie personally. Then came dessert. Juan described a peach cobbler special that immediately had my mouth watering, while my daughter ordered the Espresso Crème Brûlée. Juan returned to our table with three plates and spoons and informed me that Chef Jackie has recommended her specialty. I did not argue, Chef knows best. She surprised me by sending out something different: a slice of Baklava Cheesecake accompanied by a scoop of house-made peach cobbler ice cream. Now, I have eaten some outstanding cheesecakes all around the world, but this Baklava Cheesecake was on an entirely different level. It was rich, layered, perfectly textured and flaky, and so unbelievably delicious that I nearly licked the plate clean. The house-made peach cobbler ice cream was equally impressive--light and creamy, yet captured the full peach cobbler flavor. The Espresso Crème Brûlée was also beautifully executed, with a crisp caramelized sugar shell and a deep, smooth coffee-flavored custard. My daughter ate half of hers before turning her attention to the cheesecake, and she does not even like cheesecake. That alone should tell you how special it was. I live three hours away, but I will absolutely be making the drive back. Lemon & Thyme delivers exceptional food, thoughtful hospitality, creative dishes, and the kind of personal service that turns a meal into a lasting memory. This is my new favorite restaurant!!! Do yourself a favor and make the trip to Lemon & Thyme. Ask for Juan, trust Chef Jackie, and do not leave without desert. Chef Jackie, Juan and the rest of the staff, thank you for the amazing experience!!!
