Had a horrible experience today at Gengis Khan. As I first approached the cashier, she never made eye and was very short but I figured she was just focused due to the line. I then proceeded to add food to my plate. The food tray was disgusting, to the point where I didn't use it. When it came time to adding oils/spices the male employee just starts adding oils on my food. I stopped him by saying "I don't want that" he looks at me and says "why not? It's only oyster sauce" I then stated, "I don't care, I don't want it" keep in mind, as I'm speaking he's adding other sauces that I did not ask for on my plate. From that, I went back to the cashier (different than the first) to ask for my money back. She was very polite and with no issue at provided me a full refund. This place is disgusting. I came here once it was a busy day and I got some noodles, meat veggies and after I ate it I didn't feel so well I felt very sick and after I threw up. It seems that they didn't cook their meat well only did it for like 60 seconds then put it in the plate. So I got food poisoning from here and I had to go to the hospital I felt nauseous because I didn't want to eat anymore because this place caused me to get stomach pain and so I felt weak my Iron and vitamin levels went down. If you don't believe me I took a CT SCAN and they did tell me I had stomach pain caused by an infection FROM THIS PLACE AND THEIR UNCOOKED MEAT. I ate here on a very busy weekend, I and other people in the line had to wait for 5 minutes because one of the worker told us that they ran out of bowls and that they are still trying to wash the bowls. I really don't mind waiting however, once the bowls got out and passed to the me and other people waiting in line, the bowls were water dripping wet inside and outside. The bowls and look pretty gross specially after seeing remnants of vegetables of previous use still sticking on the side of the bowls. Looks like they were so in a hurry they hand washed all of them quickly and did not have time to heat dry them or even check the cleanliness of the bowls. It is a turn off that this business does not practice diligent disinfection procedures on the utensils they use for serving the public. I selected to have a plate full of meat and some mushrooms. on top. But what i received was 3 pounds of nasty oversalted noodles and 1 little piece of meat and 2 pieces of mushroom. Didn't expect to give it 1 star. Then again I didn't expect to be so disappointed!!! Del Amo Mall is in the midst if redesigning and Gengis Khan received a completely new makeover! Definitely is beautiful to walk past. Today I decided to have dinner there with Robby and let's just say don't let the looks fool you! Pretty on the outside, dirty on the inside! Set up is nice, pretty fancy smancy. They keep the set up of the food organized. So what's the problem? The handling and cooking of the food! Myself and another party were waiting for our food to be cooked, we literally watched the employees clean the grill which was filthy! You can see in my photo. On the ground there was so much food that was dropped on the ground, we saw them sweeping as well. What I noticed is that both cooks did NOT wash their hands after cleaning and sweeping. They just put gloves on. -_- So the guy who cooks mine begins cooking the meat and noodles then separates the noodles to be put back in the bowl. When he went to slide the noodles back with the giant chopstick he dropped a handful of our noodles! And the remaining was left dangling from the bowl. What disgusted me was that the dangling noodles were touching his apron and God knows what else was already on there. It gets worse...he then puts our bowl on noodles on a steel tray and the noodles were touching the tray since they were half dangling from the bowl. Again who knows if that tray is even clean. As we watch the train wreck continue we see him push our food around and around, each time dropping more noodles and meat. At the end when it was time to slide the rest of the food into the styrofoam box, yes, he dropped even more food. The other cook next to him was no better. I've never seen such sloppy cooks before! Please retrain them!!! The cook knew he dropped a lot of our food but just laughed to his cooking buddy. My boyfriend and I were exhausted after work, otherwise I would've complained but this franchise has a DGAF vibe to them. Also the employee handling the meat had his hair in a long ponytail WITHOUT a fishnet stocking. That's pretty disgusting because his hair can fall into the meats. This location is beautiful but lacks health code standards. As for the food it tasted okay, nothing special. We always order medium for the spice level which has a kick. The medium here was bland, no flavor no nothing. I don't plan on eating here again. There really needs to be a health code inspection here! read more

I was looking for some food that's semi-healthy and hot in the mall, the Gengis Khan served the purpose. Don't get intimidated by the long lines in front the counter at lunch time, they move super fast. All of their cook seemed irritated when they ask the customers what sauce they want. Always my go-to place to eat when I visit Del Amo mall. I don't know why people complain about cashier's customer service when all she does is taking your order and ring you up for payment. Do you expect her to chit-chat with you while there is a long line? This is a quick service food court so don't expect diner waitress service. If you want that than go sit down at a diner and leave a tip for the service. Anyways, I never fail here. Great noodles and a huge portion size! I don't recommend beef though because they are too chewy and dry when cooked (cheap quality beef); however, go for chicken and pork. The perfect combo would be to add onions, bell peppers, green onions, bean sprout and you must add pineapples because they add sweetness to the food! When you go to the sauces, make sure to ask for spicy and extra garlic! Tip: make sure to keep an eye on your noodles while they're cooking because sometimes the cooks don't pay attention either. So it was failure on both our parts. Wow was this a long line, like 45 min long and it was 2:30! I'd hate to see it during the lunch rush. I think the cooks were overwhelmed however they were taking their time, it was slightly frustrating to see. I love however that this place lets you grab your own food to put in the bowl. Most places dont let you do that anymore. Of course with the wait, the meat had defrosted by the time I got to the wok and so it got a tad overcooked but I still give it good ratings because it was tastey and I could put in exactly the right amount that I wanted. One tip though is they should cut the tomatoes smaller. The large (and I mean too large) chunks, don't good enough in the time on the wok and it's a weird ratio. It's kinda like a cafeteria style place where you walk through filling your bowl with items. First you pay, and then you fill your bowl with your choice of meats, then choice of veggies, and food preparer fills bowl with noodles and asks for sauces of choice. Finally, there are the chefs who cook your bowls' items in a big round grill. I found it very filling and big-portioned enough to share. read more

This is my go to place for Mongolian BBQ in the South Bay. Yes, they are located in the Del Amo Mall. Yes, sometimes I struggle to find parking. But, it is all worth it. Since I usually get my food to go, I just get the Mongolian BBQ Plate. They offer a Combo Plate, which is the same thing as the Mongolian BBQ plate, but comes with rice and soup. There is a good selection of meats (chicken, beef, turkey, etc.) and add-ons (broccoli, onions, mushroom, sprouts, baby corn, cilantro, carrots, cabbage, etc.). After putting everything you want in your bowl, they give you a very generous portion of noodles and juices/flavors to top off your order. Then, you get to watch the cooks go to work. The cooks are always very cautious to make sure that all of your meats are cooked. They are also very friendly. Good food and good service, what more could you ask for? read more

It's Mongolian BBQ and pretty good. You get an empty bowl to fill for $7. Another buck gets you a drink, rice and vegetable soup. It's in the International Food Court in the mall. Usually walk by and don't go there because it always looks crowded. This time I felt like waiting because I haven't had it here before. You can get Chicken, Beef, Pork or Turkey in thin curled frozen slices. It fills the bowl up easily and there is a no flattening the meat rule posted. Then you add your veggies. Bean sprouts, cabbage, celery, onions, cilantro, carrots, green peppers, baby corn, broccoli, mushrooms, water chestnut, tomatoes. After you have filled or overfilled your bowl, a person sauces it up. Choose from mild, medium, spicy and whether you want garlic. I chose medium which my 1 year old was able to eat. (Bad daddy). After the saucing, they stack it with a big pile of noodles even if you have overstacked bowl. They cook in front of you. Meat and veggies first and then adding the noodles. It tends to be a bit oily so it doesn't stick to the grill. You can fill small plastic cups with Sriracha sauce or sesame seeds while waiting. They then put your stir fry into a to-go container. Overall experience was good. Too much food for me in one sitting. I split it with my wife and felt full. Nice that it automatically goes into a styrofoam to-go box. The rice was a little superfluous for me since it was already a bit much already. The veggie soup is just the cabbage, carrots, celery and cilantro. My soup was lukewarm. Giving it a 3 star because although the noodles and sauce were very tasty. But the soup was lukewarm. Some of the carrots and tomatoes didn't look great although you probably won't notice once they are cooked. A very good bargain for the money so probably will come again if I'm in the mall. read more

Was looking really forward to getting Mongolian food but turns out my bf and I got THREATENED by an employee who has a distinguishable wart on his nose (STAY CLEAR OF THIS GUY) wanted to "take things outside" and also claimed to be the manager when you can clearly tell he wasn't by the attitude and aggression towards the customers. Such a horrible experience, we had to get security because the employee threatened us. Managed to get the managers number and got his apologies which I appreciate and also mentioned how many other clients have mentioned his misbehavior at work. I hope this guy gets fired for the way he came on to us. No other person should go through what we did. Don't let them pour those sauces without your permission. Don't bother getting soda, opt instead for the Lemonade next door at Hot Dog on a Stick, it goes good with the spicy (you did get spicy flavor, right?) flavors of the finished slop of food you get poured into your package. read more

Gengis would be proud. The meat is sliced thinly which is really good. A lot of places slice it thicker which makes the meat chewy and tough. They also have pineapples, chestnuts, and mini corn which are fairly uncommon. I like to put the pineapple which makes the dish sweeter like teriyaki. Overall I'm not sure why this place is rated so low so have to give it a high score. It's clean, the food is well prepared, the service is friendly. The only thing is that when they get busy it's slow because they only have 1 stove cooker. Oh and edit: the bowls are generous. They aren't big but is really deep so it holds the meat and veggies well. Some places give you the shallow bowls Edit: I read some reviews they don't allow you to press, if that's true, it's a no go for me.
