Service was great. Very attentive to customers who walk in. The communication between the cashier and the cooks worked well in getting my order out to me quicker. And the place looked well put together, clean and direct. There isn't anything about this place that screams at you and wows you. This place is an order, stay if you want or take it to go vibe. My food is the reason I gave it 3 stars. Although it tasted great, I felt like there was more rice than there was chicken in my mini bowl. Meeting me in the middle would've been better. Chicken was cooked thoroughly. Rice tasted fresh. For me it was just the portion size. I was left hungrier than I was when I came in to order. Maybe that's just what it is about the mini. I dont mind giving this place another shot with their regular sized plate or bowl.

This place is sort of like all the other teriyaki bowl places but way better. The small business touch to this common item in California is done so well with delicious sauce and really well prepared spicy pork and chicken that hits the mark. I recommend both the spicy pork and their chicken bowls. The price is on par with the quality and amount of food they pack in those Togo packages. I want to say this place is in my top three teriyaki bowl place

My partner & I went in last night for a quick meal on the way home. It was very fast service, the staff that was working were so polite and friendly. It's a small, tasty little place. Much better than flame broiler in my opinion. We both loved our food.

The food was delicious & the service was amazing. Ambiance was relaxing with a tv playing. They had a good drink and snack collection too. No public restrooms though.

Thank you so much to the team! We had a group of teens for a construction camp lunch and we took over the place so they were fueled before a jobsite walk! As always the food is great!

Food is good. Our family's favorites are the spicy pork bowl and the short rib plate. Service is awesome. They are always friendly. Place ambiance is simple almost giving out the small canteen vibe. A lot of workers come here to eat lunch or have items to go. You can always call in advance to order your food and it is usually cooked fast.

Amazing flavor from the chicken and pork. Friendly service. Small parking lot. They had a news channel playing on a T.V.. Owner was super friendly and happy that I stopped by. Chicken was tender, and teriyaki sauce had a nice sweetness to it that cuts through the chicken and pork really well. Rice was cooked well. Green onion was crisp. If I'm in the area, I would stop by again.

Hidden gem with generous food portions. The meat is expertly cut and cooked to perfection, always fresh. Their trio of sauces - two spicy options and a delightful teriyaki sauce - are simply divine. The staff is welcoming and efficient, with convenient parking available. A must-try spot for a satisfying lunch

Plate of rice spicy pork and beef. (Ignore the chicken on top....I took it off the other plate I had )

Both the galbi and both versions of the noodles were incredibly delicious. We also tried the stir-fry intestines--they were cooked perfectly with absolutely no gamey smell. My wife got the steamed egg, which was also really good. On top of all that, they give you plenty of side dishes that are actually delicious ,more variety tô . This place is top-tier, and we are definitely coming back next time we are in town!

Street parking is also fairly easy since it's residential if you don't mind walking a few minutes. Once there, there's often a short waitlist (~ 15 min). Our party had the Prime Non-Marinated Korean BBQ Combination for four and added a Boneless Short Rib. The first thing I noticed? Definitely the charcoal grill - my favorite! The staff cooked all the meats for us, and each was cooked well. There were a few time where the meats were lightly charred, though that was on us for eating a little too slow. Can't blame us though, we had good chats and shots. The sauces for the meat were all tasty as were the sides, which I devoured multiple rounds of, but if there's one I don't recommend it's the boneless short ribs... why had I not read that it was marinated? The marinate was way too sweet, an I'm sad that this was our last order to come out. It was by far a chore to eat and not the best way to end our evening. I highly recommend the Prime Non-Marinated Korean BBQ Combination, though!

You need to add your own salt which is provided on the table. It's a simple and filling soup. The Galbi Tang is flavorful with lots of meat. You also add your own salt. This is one of my go to "sick dishes" as it's very comforting. Their Yuk Gae Jang is SO GOOD. It's definitely my favorite here. It's the perfect amount of spice. It's filled with meat, noodles, and veggies. The flavor of the broth itself is so yummy and when rice is added, one bowl can be stretched to three full meals. I had this dish last week and I actually can't stop thinking about it. Overall everything here has been delicious and the portions are very generous. The banchan includes 3 dishes: radish kimchi, kimchi, and mustard greens kimchi. All have fish sauce. Service 10/10 Servers are quick, efficient, and attentive. They brought extra bowls and without being asked, brought serving spoons and scissors to cut the noodles with. I have a fish/seafood allergy and I appreciate them taking it seriously and letting me know which foods they recommended I stay away from although they did not know for certain. I wish they knew which dishes had fish/seafood so I knew for sure what was allergy safe, but I understand that it's impossible to know the ingredients of every dish. Ambiance 8/10 I've been coming here since the pandemic days when they had outdoor seating and it's always very neat, clean, and pretty quiet as well. There is plenty of parking and lots of other dessert, drink, and food places nearby. Even though it's almost 90 degrees outside, I've been craving their Yuk Gae Jang and can't wait till my next visit!

The former because everything looked and sounded so good; the latter because it's hard to know whether you can trust what some of these foodie accounts are saying is truthful or paid for. Given how I write Yelp reviews, the irony in saying that doesn't escape me. However, now that I've been here several times, I can happily report that everything those IG accounts said was entirely true! Even though their complex isn't very large (parking is usually easy, but it can be scarce at time), Yoo's Place itself is decently large and always seems to have tables available for groups large or small. Similarly, their menu is rather extensive as well, to the point where it took us a while to figure out what we wanted to try most the first time we came here. Whether it be their appetizers, soups, stews, cold noodles, hot noodles, BBQ meats, stone pot dishes, bossam, broiled fish, galbijjim, and even omurice and Chinese dishes. In short, too many dishes for me to try before finally writing this! -- BANCHAN For the most part, all of these were great! Of the bunch, the fishcakes, kimchi, and radish were my favorites. I also like the kabocha a lot, but they sometimes slather too much mayo/sauce. -- HAEMUL PAJUN - Seafood & Green Onion Pancake As weird as it is to say, this almost came with too many goodies, as it was chock full of seafood and green onions. Definitely a nice problem to have, but I do wish there had been a bit more batter to make this crispier. -- HAEMUL KALGUKSU - Homemade Noodles with Seafood I don't get this often, so I don't know how it compares to others, but this tasted so good! The noodles had such a nice chew to them and I love that they didn't skimp on the seafood. Plus, the portion is large enough where you could easily stretch this into two meals! -- SEOLLEONG TANG - Ox Bone Soup Similar to the Haemul Kalguksu, this was one hearty bowl of soup! The broth was rich and beefy, there were several large chunks of meat, and there was a lot of noodles in this. Plus, I liked that they also included a lot of veggies and strips of eggs, too. -- DAKNALGAE TWIGIM - Deep Fried Chicken Wings Despite falling a bit short of what we hoped for, this was still pretty solid. While the portion initially seemed light (only about eight wings), each piece was HUGE, the batter was crispy, and the chicken itself was juicy. I just wish it had been a little more flavorful. -- LA GALBI & (SUKEO) SOON TOFU COMBO - Marinated Beef Short Rib and Seafood & Beef Soon Tofu Soup The LA Galbi was great - meaty, well marinated, tender, lightly charred, and the portion was sizable for a combo. As for the Soon Tofu, it was terrific! The tofu soup was rich and hearty, had a good mix of beef and seafood, and was just so comforting. -- JAJANG MYUN - Noodles with Black Bean, Pork, Cream Sauce Maybe it's because I haven't had a legit Korean Jajang Myun in ages, but this was pretty good! The noodles were perfect and I love how it came loaded with plenty of pork and onions. The sauce had a bit of an aftertaste to it, but I still liked this. -- KODUNGAE - Broiled Mackerel This was delicious! Compared to the one we had at BCD, this one was deboned better and was just as big, if not bigger. Plus, not only was it still really moist, but the mackerel still had some crispy edges, too. -- KALBIJJIM - Braised Short Ribs While I do wish this had more chili peppers in this (it was really yellow), the taste of this was still awesome. More importantly, there was a fair amount of short ribs, which were so tender and meaty, along with rice noodles, glass noodles, cheese, and vegetables. SO GOOD! -- NAENGMYUN - Sliced Beef & Vegetables over Noodles with Spicy Sauce This was on the house (possibly from ordering the kalbijjim) and, even though it might have been a scaled down version of the dish, this was still so good! The noodles had the perfect chew, there was just a touch of heat, and the overall flavors were amazing! In addition to the food, the service here is fantastic. All of the workers are super friendly and the kitchen gets dishes out very quickly. What's more, the workers will happily refill any banchan dishes and every table comes with a small thermos of beef bone broth that is just so PERFECTLY DELICIOUS! Even when it's hot out, it still hits the spot - it's just so warm and comforting! Honestly, it's one of my favorite things at Yoo's Place! With so many options in Irvine and around the rest of OC, I know there may very well be better places than Yoo's Place, especially when it comes to a specific dish. However, I can't imagine that Yoo's Place isn't among the best of the bunch. At the very least, it's the best I've tried thus far and I wouldn't hesitate to keep coming back even as I try more places in OC!

There is nobody else standing in line outside and the owner comes outside to tell me 2 times that I need to wait 30-40 minutes. I told her there is no waiting in front of me, and that it should be first come, first serve. She says no, you can only sit on tables for 1 person and it will be a 30-40 min wait for that. I said okay, but if there is no line and people are done eating with empty tables it should be fine, right? There is a waitlist, and that it should go in order. She said no, you can only get seated on tables for 1. Then she proceeded to say it's a 30-40 min wait again as if I didn't already know that for the second time. I told her i'd wait, but now i'm feeling bad and don't know if she even cares to earn my business. It's my 5th time coming here, and unfortunately this place was one of my favorite Korean restaurants and since I'm from out of town I make sure to visit each time I am in the OC. I'm not sure if I want to continue coming back here if service remains this way. It's embarrassing enough to come alone, it's even worse when you're called out in front of people inside of the restaurant while there are only 3 people waiting outside. When I got seated she didn't even give me a menu and asked me what I wanted. Lucky for her i'm Korean and was already a repeat customer from the early days so I was able to order right away-otherwise how could I order? God forbid I ask for any recommendations on the menu... 1 star well deserved for this. Congratulations this is the first time I rated a fellow Korean restaurant 1 star. There is a first time for everything I suppose.

While we waited for the grill to get going, we snacked on the banchan. The pickled dishes and spring greens were especially refreshing and did a great job balancing out all the rich flavors to come. The highlight was definitely the meat. Everything was grilled perfectly and came out incredibly juicy, tender, and flavorful. What I loved most was how many different ways there were to enjoy each bite. You can dip the pork into the garlic oil sauce, add a little wasabi, pair it with the melted grilled cheese, wrap it with myeong yi, sprinkle on some salt, or simply enjoy the quality of the meat on its own. Every combination brought out a different flavor profile, so the meal never got repetitive. The soups were comforting and packed with flavor, making them a great complement to the barbecue. Overall, this was a really satisfying KBBQ experience. The pork collar and belly are wet aged for a couple days, and the texture and flavors of the sides and meats combined make a great bite every bite. I ordered the original broth and they have either the flat iron or the beef toro as their special for lunch along with tea drink. In total after tax, the cost was $25, which isn't too bad with today's inflation. The broth itself was fine - 3/5. The beef still tasted frozen and still being thawed at the time I had tried it. Once I had dipped it in the broth, the meat was pretty tough and mind you I didn't leave it in that long. I do feel the side sauces has a change in ingredient. I was hoping there was more creaminess to the sesame/peanut sauce. Service was quick and efficient, no problem there.
