My daughter tried the oxtails for the very first time, and she absolutely loved them! We also started with the deep-fried deviled eggs appetizer, which was fantastic and a total must-try. ​Beyond the amazing food, the atmosphere and team made our meal truly memorable. Miss Pearl (Auntie Pearl) was such a joy, and our waitress, Kim, provided fantastic service from start to finish. To top it all off, we got to briefly chat with the owner, Kevin Johnson, who was so incredibly kind to my daughter. ​We'll definitely be back soon. My oxtails were still fairly tender but quite as much as before and the flavors were a little muted compared to before. The deviled eggs were a bit of a letdown too, pretty dry although the bacon was on point. The place is super clean and you couldn't tell they've been in business as long as they have so that's a plus. Service was pretty good especially considering the party size that came.

The gravy/sauce was so rich and delicious. It had great flavor. The mac and cheese was really good, another friend ordered wings, they were delicious! Salad was huge for a side! I also ordered a pork chop to go for my husband with the Cajun red beans and rice. We both couldn't stop eating the red beans and rice. They were amazing!!! Birdies is located about a half-block from the entrance to Sutter Health Park, near right field. So one game we got to about an hour early so we walked into Birdies to kill some time. I've been to Birdies probably 3 to 5 times and it's always been in this exact situation,Happy Hour before an A's game. It seems like they have a happy hour before most if not every game. When you go to Birdies they have both indoor and outside seating though I've only sat inside. They have three ways to order at Birdies,one can order at the bar or one can grab a table and order from a waiter or waitress or finally you can order from a QR code located at each table. Their Happy Hour features $8.00 items for both food and cocktail drinks though beers are priced at $6.00. Some of the things I've gotten over my visits during happy hour were as follows Blackberry Margaritas Guava Lime Spritz Urban Roots Lager Carne Asada Tacos Single Patty Smash Burger If I'm being honest, the food at Birdies is probably more towards average rather than excellent. The drinks though have all been made excellent and tasted great. This place to me is better suited for a spot to get great drinks before the game rather than great food. Super attentive, friendly, and made sure we were taken care of the entire time. Somebody needs to give Raul a raise and while you're at it, give the chef one too because whoever is back there cooking clearly knows what the hell they're doing.
