Welcome to 1977. The wood paneling, the oil lamp, the ambiance you would expect from a steakhouse that never let the 1970's out of their sight. Phenomenal steaks, loaded bake potatoes & homemade garlic ranch. Service with a smile and just the perfect amount of Northern Wisconsin charm. Definitely a great experience!!

Went here on a whim for a birthday dinner and boy were we happy we did! Excellent ambience, service, and food! We order the chicken and the cheeseburger soups which were hot and delicious! Next we had our salad and this is one of the few places still in the valley to serve hot bacon dressing too! After being told so much about it i was glad to finally try it! We had cheese curds appetizers with home made ranch which was also amazing! Our server recommended after-all the owner has been snacking on em for decades (something we saw with our own eyes here too ) Our steaks were cooked perfectly too! We will definitely be back! Oh and can't forget the cherry desert!

Stopped in because we were recommended to try it out for a good steak. We wanted an early dinner so we came right when they started seating dinner and we had a table instantly. This is an old building with a cool bar and you can tell this place is a blast from the past. It truly looks like it hasn't been updated in 40 years, but that's the vibe they are going for with this traditional "supper club". Our service was very quick and organized. She asked for our drink order but we never received a drink menu so she went and got one. That's when we noticed they had appetizers on the drink menu, which we also would have never seen. So we ordered some beers and cheese curds. The curds were delicious and she brought us their house made garlic sauce. For my meal, I got the porterhouse which included bread, a salad, soup, and a potato of my choice. The amount of food was incredible. The tomato bisque soup was hot and tasty. I wish my baked potato had more than just sour cream but that's all she offered. Overall, an interesting old building with pretty good food. The portions were massive for a reasonable price for a steakhouse.

There is a lot of history here

Solid steakhouse in the middle of downtown. Friends and family gather in this dark-paneled den for fine-dining. My steak was cooked perfectly, with just the right amount of sear, and it tasted great. Good cuts of beef, with a garden salad, and recognizable side-dishes ciled me up. I was too full for dessert.

I heard this place gave the cheddar cheese and was a nice little steak house. We called and made a reservation. We were seated on time and it was a nice little place. The service was good but a little slower. Our dinner was 2.5 hours long. The soup was very good and flavorful. The salad was poor with a lot of pieces that were bad. The onion rings on the steak were thin and good. The steak was okay. Not the best but not terrible. I would eat it again but I wouldn't rush back for it. Overall it was a decent experience.

George's has the best steak in town! They have a little snack bar that is nice. They always had good service. I hope that they reopen!

The rarity time off we snuck over here and could not have been more impressed! Very much a unique place in Appleton but takes you to a big city like NYC or Portland. The vibes, decor, overall environment was welcoming. Food was delicious! We got BYO omelette and Cheese risotto cake with braised beef short ribs. Both were cooked to perfection and flavors aplenty. Not overly salted which many places can be. The perfect portion size that we didn't even need to take anything to go. Honestly impressed. Even more cool is they try to source ingredients locally when they can so it's helping our community. Very excited to have found this place and will be back for more! We did try some of their specialty drinks and will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu whenever we get the chance. We came back for a second visit fairly quickly because we kept thinking about the food! We got some breakfast bowls and added protein to it. Again, this place did not disappoint in the slightest! Happy eating!

They're located in an old building along the main street in downtown. For lunch, they seemed to have a short list of items...and not really catering to a red meat eater like me. I picked the chicken pesto sandwich since I normally eat chicken sandwiches for lunch and opted for the house potatoes. Our waitress was very loopy and loud add seemed overly happy about her job. My colleague thinks she was yelling at us whem she spoke, but I believe that is just how some people talk. My chicken sandwich was good...but the chicken breast seemed like a machine formed patty and it was small. I was expecting something a little fresher, like a whole grilled chicken breast for the price. Instead, this seemed like a pre-made patty from a vendor they just heated up in an oven. The house potatoes were simple and pretty good though. They add cheese and herbs and spices to these to amp them up. I can't really speak for the breakfast or cocktail program, but their music was pretty good.

When you come…read moreinto the main doors you are greeted by a normal Wisconsin bar scene with televisions and ample seating. When you would like to dine the dining area is not too large. However, they make up for their lack of seating with their use of the space. They put tables together for our party of eight and it worked well. The salad bar was a delightful Wisconsin supper club salad bar. It was offered with every dinner. The salad bar was delightful with nice greens, fresh veggies throughout, some delightful sides, and finally their two options for soup. Everyone at our table had the seafood soup. It was well made. A rich creamy base with an ample amount of seafood and potatoes and a few vegetables. Once dinner arrived, we had one who tried the surf and turf, lobster and tenderloin. Lobster was tender, juicy and served with butter. The steak was cooked to medium rare, though I asked for rare. Other steaks at the table were a 10 oz. Tenderloin and a 12 oz. Tenderloin and a 16 oz. Rib eye and a petite prime rib. Another had a full rack of ribs, and another had the walleye and the other a creamy chicken dish. All of the steaks were a fraction more than what we ordered. The med rare I ordered was more medium. The rares at the table were more med rare etc. take that into account as you order. As sides go, the garlic mash was a hit. Good portion size. Very tasty. All in all the meat was real and delicious. With all of the meat glue instances out there, it was good to have an actual cut of meat which wasn't manufactured. Desert was great as well. Lava cakes, sundaes, etc. only complaint, they didn't have cheese cake though several were told they did and wanted, but we shifted to lava cakes and were not disappointed. Michiels has earned a future trip for me. I will return.
