3.5 stars rounded up to a 4 -- Nice upscale restaurant with a lovely ambiance that's great for a date night out! My fiance and I visited Georgie after we had our engagement photoshoot in downtown Dallas late last year, and it was a great way to end our night while we were dressed up nice! We had a reservation and were seated immediately, though the restaurant was nowhere near full at that time. They started us out with a complimentary amuse-bouche which was some sort of jalapeno cheddar biscuit with a creamy filling - this was a delicious bite and left me wanting more! For our appetizers, we opted for the hamachi croque madame and the Anson Mills cornbread with shishito and cheddar. While we both really enjoyed the "surf and turf" vibe of the hamachi croque madame, the cornbread dish did get overly sweet the more we ate it. For our main entrees, we shared the jumbo crab cake and antelope tenderloin. The jumbo crab cake was quite good and had great texture. The antelope tenderloin was very unique (I've never had antelope before!) and the meat itself was tender and juicy; however, the pork jowl vinaigrette it came with was a bit too acidic for me though my fiance didn't mind it at all.

Love Georgie! Always a tasty time here. Favorites are the complementary bread, the agnolotti, and the crisp potato brick things. So so good.

Our second time at Georgie as our first time was incredible! The food was great as always and the wait staff is very attentive. If you are in the Knox area and are looking for a fancy brunch or dinner spot I would recommend Georgie! P.S. they also have a small little "butcher shop" on the back where you can order quick bites if you're in a rush or just want to stop by for a snack before walking the trail.

Was such an amazing brunch! Sat outside so didn't get to take in quite as much of the ambiance per se, but it was in a very adorable area and we loved the surroundings. From what we saw inside, it was lovely and well decorated. The food and service were stellar. Started off with mimosas and they definitely were not stingy with the champagne! They asked us our preference for the ratio of juice which I always appreciate. We shared the seasonal scones and thought they were delicious and super unique. One of Lavender something and the other was a ham and cheese one. Definitely a big fan of the savory one! We also ordered a chocolate croissant to split which we all loved. I had the Sausage and Egg sandwich and was pleasantly surprised by the flavors and the portion size! A very large portion of meat as well as excellent seasoning in it. I added avocado on the side and thought it went nicely with it. Honorable mentions to the Breakfast Stratta and the Short Rib- although they weren't my entrees, I tried both and thought they were super delicious and would recommend either of them. The short rib is definitely on the heavier side though because the yorkshire puddings! Our server was lovely, I think her name might've been Molly? Wish I remembered because she made the experience even better. Will be back whenever i'm in town again!

I've been wanting to visit Georgie for a while and made it out on a Friday evening. We had reservations, but we ended up waiting over 20 minutes for our table. The table was cleaned and ready for us, but we stood there for a while unsure if it was ours or not. Unfortunately we were just overlooked, no one checked in with us during that time, and there was no apology for the delay, which was a bit frustrating. Granted, it was a busy night but that's expected on weekends so better organization in managing reservations and seating could definitely improve the overall experience. Once we were finally seated, the service was underwhelming. Our waiter didn't introduce himself and overall seemed a bit disengaged. The level of attentiveness and warmth wasn't what I had hoped for, especially given the reputation of the place. That said, the space is absolutely beautiful and the food was delicious. The Alaskan halibut was incredibly flavorful and the presentation of their dishes is top notch! I suggest adding sides to your entree since the main portions are on the smaller side and don't come with any sides. Overall, food was great but the service could definitely use some improvement.

Service - Outstanding. Valet service at entrance, every door opened for you, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Drinks handled by one specialist while the meal was handled by another. Very attentive staff for your every need. Ambiance - Warm and classy. Tables for two were very small but worked just fine. Though the dress code reminder in the email confirmation said no hats - there were plenty of men in baseball caps. Not a compliant just sharing. Food - Some were stand outs and some were interesting but not memorable. Bread and French butter infused with garlic - amazing. Took some home to go. Butter poached oysters - yum! Caviar didn't add much to it beyond looks. Butter sauce was perfect. But then again it's butter. Potato churros with onion sauce - memorable. Sauce was a stand out. Uni toast - Solid. Huge portion of Santa Barbara uni but it doesn't have the fresh ocean salinity as you'd find in uni when it's fresh. Maybe get one to try but no more. Cacio e Pepe - Dumpling style that was a bit too salty given the Parmesan stuffing. Duck confit sauce was Devine especially with the complimentary bread. Black truffle shavings had no aroma or flavor. Just looked pretty. Lobster and scallop "chowder" dish is delicate, light, and delicious. Won't fill you up if you didn't get a bunch of apps and pricey for only two scallops and one lobster claw at $58. Glad I tried it and enjoyed it but poor value. Cocktails - $35 for a cocktail should come with a song and dance. It was solid but not worth $35. The classic Georgie cocktail was good. Comp'd birthday dessert was a nice bread pudding with a spoonful of ice cream. Would visit again but be pickier about selections.

My friend and I went here on a Friday at 5pm on the dot and secured a very coveted seat at the bar. We had such a blast! The bartenders were so sweet and made amazing cocktails. We ordered some dishes to share and they split everything for us. And they gave us free dessert! I love this place, I can't wait to go back! Try the bump martini and peep the beautiful restrooms.

Wow what a great meal at Georgie! When we first stepped in, we found ourselves in a retro throwback atmosphere, very unique and fun. The waiter was fantastic throughout our meal and made some fantastic suggestions. The plates are smaller, tapa style, so you can order a few to share. Highlights included grilled octopus (awesome Al Pastor flavor), Alaskan halibut & churros with onion dip. Every dish was expertly plated in a unique way. We loved the meal and definitely recommend!

High expectations I had when I first stepped into Georgie. No longer partnered with a celebrity chef; instead the kitchen has been magically transferred to the incredibly talented, The French Laundry in Napa alum, Chef RJ Yoakum. Mind blown dinners had! Fresh seasonal menus; fortunate I am with them keeping my two favorite starters, "Potato Churros"and "French Onion Consume", in tact so far. Gorgeous steaks are still being served; yet I have loved every bite of their "Tasmanian Ocean Trout" and "Dry-Aged Duck Breast"! Beautiful is the restaurant. I love sitting, sipping, and, nibbling at their bar on weekdays. As for weekends, wanting only the best for my close friends and family this spring, our celebratory dinners have been and will continually be here at Georgie! CHEERS!

I wasn't quite sure what to expect given the one star reviews that mentioned things like poor service or credit card surcharges, but still wanted to give Georgie a chance. In regard to service, perhaps we were lucky or the one-stars had an uncommon experience. I found the service to be perfect. Zero issues there. Interior is very nice but not stuffy; "business casual" did not feel out of place. The bread / butter was good. The hiramasa sashimi appetizer was small but tasty. My sturgeon entree would have been a very bland fish if not complemented by the delicious sauce. The maitake side was also to my liking. Lastly the "candy bar" dessert was a good way to end the night followed by a couple of complimentary sweets. In that a review less than one month old spoke of a 3% "credit card surcharge", annoying since it was not indicated anywhere on the online menu, I did come prepared with cash. FORTUNATELY, at least for us, the surcharge was not added. Maybe they've smartened up and stopped this practice which more often than not gets "self inflicted" one-star reviews when all else is fine. Cash discounts = fine. Credit card surcharges when noted on menu = annoying. Surcharges when not noted = unacceptable. Many places are going cashless. Raising menu prices 3% is less annoying. Whatever caused them to not add the surcharge to ours, combined with the fantastic service, raised them from a 4 to 5-star experience. If only they could get the construction out front finished! :)

I am such a fan! Georgie has an upscale, lounge vibe and a creative and perfectly executed menu. I hadn't been there when it was more steak forward...the focus now is definitely more fresh ingredient focused. Everything was beautiful and equally tasty. My menu: Tomato consume ***** AMAZING Snapper tartar *** a-okay and beautiful but could have been more flavorful Corn Risotto ***** Wowza! This was an inspired dish! Brioche Crusted Salmon ***** Easily the most perfectly cooked salmon I have ever had. It was next level and perfect in every way! Basque cheesecake ***** cheesecake isn't even my favorite, but this was perfectly baked to solid on the outside and an interior the consistency of creme brûlée. Best cheesecake ever! So now I'm looking for people to take to Georgie. I never expected to love it as much as I do!

We came in near closing time, but Emilia provided us great service and stayed attentive even though they were clearly packed. We were seated at a table near the door, and unfortunately it had a vomit smell. Whatever it was, my friend could not stand it and had to get up and step away from the table. We first thought the culprit was the paper drink coasters, but then the staff removed the door mat near us later on, so maybe someone puked on it and the smell lingered, even after it was cleaned up. Clear Mizu ($16): This has Sakura vermouth and bitters, so we ordered it. It tasted like straight up gin and was not good. It was actually one of the rare times my husband could not finish his drink. Kyoto Sunset ($15): This one wasn't bad and tasted like honeydew. The ingredients include honeydew Calpico, so that makes sense. Johnny Walker Black ($16): This was our friend's drink, which I think was just coke and Johnny Walker. Nothing special about the taste either. Given the smell and so-so/terrible cocktails, we will not be coming back or taking our friends here.

At one point, our food was delivered while we were outside getting fresh air. The food was also disappointing. The scallops and chicken were extremely salty and lacked flavor, and the chicken was overcooked. When we brought it up, the server did little to address it. To top it off, we saw two large cockroaches around our table, which was especially noticeable in the dark dining room. The cocktails were the highlight, but overall, the service, food, pacing, and cleanliness did not meet expectations. One star. Very disappointing, and I'm not sure I'll be back.

The staff was very welcoming, and the other guests I encountered were friendly and sociable. The drinks were excellent. On my first visit, I had the Hugo Spritz, which was mixed to perfection. During my second visit, I tried the Bitter Lemon Soda, which was also very good--simple, refreshing, and without any overpowering flavors. I actually enjoyed The Bowen House so much that I went twice during my weekend trip to Dallas. It has an almost speakeasy-like atmosphere, with low lighting and a cozy, historic feel. It's also in a very walkable area, which made it easy to visit on foot. There is some parking available, although I would say it's somewhat limited. I don't think it would be the best spot for a very large group, but it would be perfect for a few friends getting together. I also appreciated that you can order a drink while waiting for a table or bar seating, which made the wait feel much more enjoyable. Overall, The Bowen House was one of my favorite places I visited while in Dallas. Between the atmosphere, welcoming service, and well-crafted drinks, it's definitely a place I would return to the next time I'm in town.

At least one leg has been kicked out, one is suffering. The Mansion Bar used to have a great recipe for success - proven by how busy and regular the customers were and loyal (or was), and the top tier talent that was routine for 10+ years. Me and my friends have a relationship with the long time staff as customers as well as the excellent music talent. The cause? Not precisely sure but I think it's new ownership, at the very least a new Food & Bev manager. I also know the staff is very upset about these changes and the relationships with the repeat music talent is now a mess. I wouldn't be surprise if the staff start leaving. I'm hoping whomever is making these decisions can revert back to what was working. Dallas has a lot of great venues that will fill this void.

(I rarely post Yelp reviews so that's how bad it was) I ordered the steak frites medium-well (thinking it would probably come out well-done, as most non-steakhouses tend to do). After a long wait for our food (the restaurant didn't look that busy, but maybe a lot of to-go orders?) I received the pictured steak: I'm pretty sure I can still hear it mooing. How anyone could look at this and think this is medium-well is beyond me. I tried taking a bite, but it was so raw it was inedible to eat - I would've been chewing for ages. I brought this up to my waiter, who said he would take it back and speak to the kitchen. My group needed to leave for another event (didn't anticipate waiting nearly an hour for our food) so we simultaneously asked for our checks. The kicker? My waiter did not follow up with me on how raw the steak was and did not comp my meal/provide any kind of remedy. I wasn't looking for a free meal, but the lack of follow-through to remedy the situation was the icing on the cake (or insert some kind of raw steak pun). My cocktail (which all arrived AFTER our meals were delivered) was pretty good, thus the 2 stars. But I question why/how my steak was so raw despite me waiting 45-55 minutes for it. Overall, only come here for drinks - so long as you're okay with waiting forever & a day for them.
