Great food , great friendly customer service are what most of us look for and this place has it. A gem in Fairbanks for sure . As i drove up to the parking lot it was nearly full a good sign so i stopped in and was seated rather quickly . I asked the waitress a few questions and she knew the menu and wine selection well. We had friends from out of town visit and chose dinner at Geraldo's where we have been before for pizza. I ordered the rib eye medium it arrived well done sent it back and the next one was rare. Our last three meals have been so terrible!!! in August I went out with a small group for my bday dinner. I ordered my normal meal fettuccine Alfredo -no meat bcs I'm a vegetarian. The meal comes out and has large pieces of chicken all throughout. Not a big deal. I flag down the waitress and let her know. She doesn't apologize but says she will have a new plate out in a minute. After a while she comes out and gives me what looks like a new dish. I begin to eat when I bite into a large piece of chicken. I think notice it looks as if the chicken had been picked out and the same dish was brought out. Ok now I'm upset. I flag down the same waitress and tell her "Hey the chicken was just picked out of the last dish and reserved" she just took the plate and left. Later she came back and said the item had been removed but I was still being charged for the soup. Alright whatever but had I ordered the soup alone it would be 6$ it's included with the meal. Not even a sorry. I'm not one to argue so I just said alright. Now last night I ordered the same meal and it was just terrible. The sauce has got to be canned. Also my husband and myself felt extremely sick 45min after eating. I don't know what's up with this place but we will have to make the drive to lavelles for our dinners. Hands down the best. Here you will pay for the good meal. I always get fettuccine or egg plant parm. Hubby always has some type of steak. Always good. Service is great and the mixed drinks come fast and are made well. Family owned and operated- this Italian restaurant is true to family roots. The pizza is delicious and the lunch buffet offers something light if you don't need too much. Dare you to try the creme brûlée and not be amazed. It's in its own "deep" dish complete with a nice caramel hard shell on top and deep-cool custard at the bottom!! The best!!! read more

Every time we come here its delicious! I get the french onion soup and Chicken Marsala each visit and am never disappointed. The staff is very friendly but usually slow. The restaurant just had a makeover so its really nice inside and they added an outdoor patio as well. Great wine selection if you are into that. For our first time in Alaska my wife and I decided to go out for our wedding anniversary and she found this place so we go and head out we were greeted right away and they sat us down on comfortable sofa seats. Our waiter Adam was very friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the food. We got our food and it was delicious! My wife had the Cajun Alfredo with chicken it was spicy but not a lot which was good for me and I had what Adam recommended which was the RibEye Siciliano. Everything came out great and tasted great. One of the better restaurants in Fairbanks. Service is dependable, the food taste and looks good. The pizza is some of the best in town, although I do not order it as often as I wish I could because at the price it sells for, it just simply is not worth it. My husband and I love this place. It is our go to anniversary place to eat. The service is always good and the food is delicious. My husband gets the stuffed shells with white sauce and oh lord it is to die for!! Their pizza is always perfectly cooked and the soup is flavorful and hot. We were what we wanted to drink and once ordered the drinks, had to ask several times and had not received drinks. Dinner took over an hour, the children's meal came promptly and so we checked to see if our dinners were coming they reassured us they were. When asked about our dinner she said have patience as we are understaffed and thank you for understanding! Our food was cold and not very good. Finally took our order, and never showed up again till our food was done. Had to ask for refills on our drinks when he did show up. Had to ask him where was our French onion soup and bread was after our meal arrived. He apparently forgot. Then we had to go find him to get our check after we were done. All it was was some kale, some lazy cut zucchini, and some dry pasta, and a baked piece of Chicken breast!!! Don't get me wrong the sauce wasn't bad but a baked piece of chicken not dredged in flour and then pan fried. I took a bite to try the chicken, you know give them a chance, but a big let down. I have never been to Geraldo's and I will probably not go again after my experience there. I had heard from many people that Geraldo's was a good restaurant so I decided to try it. Unfortunately, it was not a good experience. When I walked into Geraldo's it had a good amount of people already there, but there were some booths and tables still open. However, I found out that many were reserved and the only booth that was available was the one right by the door. Throughout my dinner people coming in and out brought with them a cold breeze and I ended up wearing my winter coat the whole time. Although Geraldo's is currently being renovated, its décor still had an Italian theme and it was clean. The overall light in the restaurant was somewhat dark; the lights were small and dimly lit. The booth was a deep red along with the chair cushions and napkins. Friends and family that were there created a constant buzz of conversation, but not too loud. There was also low music playing in the background. The waitress came over and took my drink order along with my appetizer. I chose the small order of the mozzarella bread with marinara sauce for $4.99. When she came back with my drink, I ordered the Stuffed Cannelloni at $16.99 for dinner. The cannelloni also came with the salad bar or soup, so I chose the salad bar. When I went to the salad bar I was very disappointed. The salad looked fresh and crisp, but there were very few choices for toppings. The mozzarella bread had a good crunch on the outside and was soft in the middle and the cheese was nicely melted. However, once my appetizer arrived I did not see my waitress for approximately forty-five minutes. It became very busy and I had other waitresses coming by and checking in on me. After about a forty-five minute wait my dinner arrived. On the menu, it said that the cannelloni was stuffed with beef, pork, and ricotta cheese and was covered with marinara sauce. On top was a layer of mozzarella cheese and parmesan cheese. When I had the first bite, I hardly tasted any meat but I did taste a lot of noodle. I could only taste the beef and did not even see cheese in the middle. It was very disappointing compared to other cannelloni dishes I have had. Overall, my experience was not the greatest. It took a very long time to get my dinner, the salad bar was very small and had little variety, the cannelloni did not taste great, and although the service was friendly it was very slow. By the time I was ready to leave, a large number of people had gathered around the door waiting for a spot to open up. I had to squeeze my way through to get out because there was nowhere for the people to wait. The food was good enough. The garlic bread is cheesy and unique (in a good way). The food wasn't outstanding though. The salad bar was weird.... It was small, just lettuce, grape tomatoes, olives, potato salad and stuff... No cucumbers, carrots, egg, meat, etc... Potato salad is a weird thing to have on a small Italian salad bar, IMO. The service is pretty slow.... I'm not sure any of the servers enjoy working there and it shows in their demeanor. For the price of meals (most in the $25 range), service should be excellent. This is the second time we have been to Geraldo's. First time we had great waitress who reassured us when our food took forever and she comped us our drinks. Tonite, we entered to a lovely view of a waitress and a cook making out at the hostess stand who looked very annoyed that we interrupted them when we asked to be seated. Our waiter was clearly stoned. We got wine which was excellent. We ordered at 5:45, a pizza and a calzone. Our waiter disappeared into ganja-town and we never saw him again. Wine gone...now 6:50...the guests at other tables also starting to get upset and planning a mutiny. It's 7:25...no waiter. A confused busser approaches one table after another asking if each ordered what she carried. Each says "no" with annoyance. My man and I look at each other, and spontaneously agree to blast. We take a B-line for Papa Murphys and get 2 ready to bake pies for 10bucks with his military discount...Geraldo's...you suck ass! Where is your management staff??? Great place. They have an amazing menu with many options.....but I can't get away from the pizza. Great specialty pizzas or build your own. I was not a fan of their food. You hardly get any veal with the veal parmesan and their spaghetti was extremely garlicky. We got seated in a weird two person table tucked in the back corner sitting above another couple who looked uncomfortable that we were breathing down their necks. Not a clue what real Italian food is, poor attempt at flavor unless you like overwhelming garlic in everything, I tried several entrees and all i tasted was garlic. my son couldnt eat his favorite dish Alfredo because all the garlic burnt his taste buds. even the pizza was nothing but garlic. dont get me wrong I am italian and i love garlic when its used appropriately. the salad bar is a joke. On a positive note the atmosphere and service was nice.
