This is a down-to-earth spa. It's not high falootin', it's just comfortable. I liked the patio full of green and the comfy day bed. I felt very taken care of. My sister and I wanted to do a day of massage and facials for our bdays, which just happened without much ado (as we like it.) We have both gone to spas and resorts on our own, but have never done it as a day together. Geri's Garden was on my mind because of the weird first review, which was so terrible, followed by the response from the owner, who clearly ID'd herself (something I appreciate) but her 5 star review neutralized the 1 star. So, I saw that as a challenge. What I liked: I liked the blue walls. I liked the fact that it feels like a home in a lot of ways. I was not a fan of the music, but I will say it was relaxing. I chatted throughout both my massage and my facial. I liked that both were good conversationalists, although they definitely let me babble away and laughed at my jokes, which made me feel good. Even if I actually tell terrible stories. I liked the robe. It reminded me that I need a nice cotton spa style robe. I liked my facial. Laura uses the Pevonia line. I've never had that product used on me, but it was quite pleasant. Laura is lovely to chat with and is very experienced as an asthetician. When my sister came out, she was missing a milia and a newly erupting blemish was viritually wiped out. I also had some good extraction time, and got some good advice about my own skin care. Nice. My massage was from Michelle. I knew it would be good because my sister had gone to the massage room first, and when I came out of my facial she looked totally relaxed and had a smile on her face. I went into a teeny room and Michelle came in. Michelle is a zaftig gal, with kind, warm hands and a LOT of power. One of the most pleasant things I have ever experienced was having a woman of size use her arms on my back. Instead of the skinny elbow bones sticking into me, as is my usual experience with deep tissue massage, her soft and powerful thumbs and elbows found my knotted spots and really worked out the kinks. I have a lot of hip and lower back issues from some lumbar vertebrae that are a tiny bit crunched and crooked, and my upper vertebrae are a mess from overcompensating. I really enjoyed this massage and would go back, she gives a luscious deep tissue massage that fixed some parts of my back. My sister has serious back issues and is very self concious/untrusting about her back being touched, and she agreed this is one of the most gentle, deep, and enjoyable massages she's had. For this double treatment? $140 plus tax and tip. Honestly? It's so worth it. I have no idea what the first reviewer had a problem with price-wise. Maybe if you are really young and have never gone anywhere else, it can be a shock to pay for pampering (your mom does it for free.) Personally, I thought that their care package is a serious deal. It's severely under priced, so I tipped about 20%. I didn't like the cement walls, but that's not their fault. They did a decent job making it feel like a cozy, calm place. I never noticed anyone else's spa experience through the extremely thin walls (they are cement.) And even though the place is very tiny, it is comfortable. I'd definitely go again. read more

I've been here twice and I cannot believe how I havent rated them yet. My first visit was for a back facial. Megan is outstanding. So thorough and gentle. Since my first visit, my back has improved significantly. Im no longer embarrased. My second visit was inclusive of a package. I had a specialized facial, foot scrub and the integrated massage. Megan did my facial, I cannot praise her enough, she makes you so comfortable and she knows exactly what shes doing. My skin has been so glowy since. The integrated massage(drool). I have never walked out of a massage so relaxed before. When asked what I preferred I asked for firm pressure. At first I thought it hurt(im a wimp) but as she kept up with the massage and it felt winderful. She was isolating spots where I had the most pain, I hadnt even told her where I had the most pain (i didnt know myself). I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place, for the overall spa experience. From the moment you walk in, its dim and soothing and smells so relaxing. Its also located in this dainty area in fairoaks which makes it all so special. read more

This is a tiny little spa tucked away by the green. I've been to spas that are far more "glamorous", but never been to one that is so relaxing. I always feel a bit out of place in those super slick places, but Geri's Garden spa was extremely welcoming. My husband was the one needing the massage, he tweaked his back and was in extreme pain, when I phoned to make the appointment and explain the problem, the owner took personal responsibility to ensure he got the right treatment, and although she was fully booked, consulted with him and her deputy to make sure he got the right treatment. I can say that he walked out of there upright - which was a lot different than when he walked (or hobbled!) in. He said that he got the best massage EVER - Hands down. (and he was far less grumpy after, which is the best news for his wife!). read more

This is such a cute little place! And it is little, but so charming! I got a massage here from Jodi. She always does a great job on me and my runner legs! This place is very relaxing. I had a foot/leg soak before my massage that was very nice. The room was near the door to their outside patio. The patio is just as charming as the rest of the spa. Now that I think about it, the spa has the Old Fair Oaks feeling. Such a cute little town in Sacramento. If you've never been you are missing out! I've been going to Geri's Garden since they opened, and I should have written a review a long time ago. They are amazing. The minute I enter the spa, I feel all my stress melt away. It is small and intimate and cozy, and everyone who works there is friendly. It feels like a getaway with my girlfriends. For a number of years, I was getting a monthly massage. That was the only period of time in my life when I did NOT have migraines. Plus, the location is awesome. Right in the middle of the quaint downtown Fair Oaks right across from the park. This place is a hidden gemstone indeed. I was searching for a place for facial that would see me the same day, and they did. The place was very clean, beautiful and calm, just what I needed to relax. Camille, the Skin Care Specialist was very knowledgable, attentive and accommodating throughout the whole time. Even though I came in for a facial, she gave me a complimentary foot soak and scrub and took. I got the Specialized Facial and Camilia really took the time to focus on my skin needs and guided me through the while process. Such a cute quaint location in the heart of Old Fair Oaks! If you drive too fast down California street, you just might miss this great place! My husband and I had breakfast at the neighboring restaurant (which was great) and headed over to Geri's for our messages! It was small but so peaceful and calming. Great garden area. I live in San Francisco and was looking for a nice day spa to take my Mother-in-Law for Mother's Day while we were up visiting this weekend. She'd never had a pedicure and I wanted this to be a nice experience, and not just take her to a strip mall chop shop! Thankfully I found Geri's Garden via Yelp and Spa Finder. This is a wonderful little gem tucked away in old town Fair Oaks. Jeannine was amazing! Helping me coordinate our appointments and make sure my 81 year old mother-in-law had a fabulous experience. And the mani/pedi from Dani (hope I got spelling correct), was nothing less than superb! I travel for business and have been to many luxurious 5 star hotels with destination spas and this was hands down the best mani-pedi I've had! Overall if you want a wonderful experience with a caring and cozy atmosphere you should choose Geri's. Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me! That is how many times I have had spa birthday parties at Geri's Garden. I met Jeannine in 2004 when a friend gave my husband and myself a spa couples package for our wedding present, I cherished that gift and it was exactly that wonderful. Hubby and I arrived with good intentions of getting the whole deal and then going to eat out at Slocum House around the corner. Well, we were in the spa at 5:30 with peppermint foot soaks and a glass of champange, chocolate and strawberrys. We felt like Royalty, we owned the spa for the entire time, 3 hrs. after leaving our relaxing enviroment we sauntered over to eat and found that we were so relaxed we just couldn't eat to much. What a wonderful time! Later on I decided to put together a spa party for my birthday and remembered what a relaxing time we had at Geri's Garden. So I invited 6 of my friends and OMG, what a hoot we owned the Spa all by ourselves the entire Sat. 10-4 just lounging in our robes and getting facials, body scrubs and the list goes on. I found Geris through a Fair Oaks Womens Event. Geris was giving out mini facials. I wanted to get a facial and have not really had a good facial for a long time and I have problem skin. I made an appt. with Megan, an esthetician, for a facial. It was amazing and will be going back monthly. Also, Geri's is so quaint, cute and relaxing. Try it, you'll love it. Treated my daughter-in-law to a well-deserved spa day. Took a chance on Geri's Garden based on the raving reviews on line. Although small in size compared to many, this place offers outstanding customer service from the moment they answer the phone to completion of service. Very peaceful and calming from the minute you enter. We both had facials and massages, Camille for facial and Allison for massage. I had the extended facial package, my daughter-in-law a 90 min. massage. We were offered beverages to start with, then a foot bath with massage. Camille offered options for my facial, made suggestions when I was unsure which way to go, and explained what she was doing in every step. Allison performed a soothing and relaxing massage, working on a problem area which has plagued me for years. I would return for services here. The truffles were a great treat and a nice surprise! I usually go to Reno at a spa in one of the hotel/casinos where there are showers to be able to wash and dry one's hair and put on makeup, so keep this in mind. This was my first time at Geri's Garden Spa and I had a fabulous experience. I was greeted at the door and provided a robe and socks to change into. I had a lovely foot soak and foot massage prior to my 80 minute facial that I purchased through groupon. The facial was amazing! I was so relaxed after and my skin felt great. I have recieved regular facials in the past and this has by far been the best! I will definitely return to Geri's in the future! The location is small but the ladies who work their are attentive and friendly and it feels like a nice little get away while you're there. read more

Extraordinary massage, care and wisdom. My masseuse was an excellent listener and as a result gave me the deep massage I have long been looking for. She also could read my trouble spots and spent time working on them. She has a richly diverse work history, but I think she was born to be a masseuse, a natural. The atmosphere at Geri's garden is sweet, genuine, authentic and very pleasant, not trendy, or posh, or clinical. The people that work there are invested in the locally owned business and their clients, delivering quality service and a warm bond. Amazing massage and retreat! Starting with the peppermint foot soak and scrub with lovely relaxing ambiance. Quaint and quiet spot well hidden within Old Fair Oaks Village, but definitely WORTH finding. I was greeted with a robe and slippers, chilled water in a crystal goblet and a "no hurry" "massage-mill" approach. This is where you come to relax. Ana gave an amazing massage, asking all the right questions about pressure and problem areas. She meticulously and professionally worked on joints and muscles seeming to feel where the most attention was needed and lingering there to make sure the therapy was effective and helpful not just starting the process and leaving it. Great massage, great staff, great place. Highly recommend a multi-service as this was not my first service here. New places are open close for lunch and I'll be back to spend the afternoon soon!
