WOW! Took a chance and tried German Auto Specialist, for the first time yesterday, for my 2016 MINI Cooper F56. I've been looking for a place that really knows MINI's, is customer focused, community based, and reasonably priced. Well, GAS is the place! GAS is a Simi Valley Family owned and operated business, with multiple generations working from the front office to the shop. Very polite and super customer friendly. Gino (Owner / Dad / Husband / Uncle) / Emilio (Nephew / Cousin) discussed the services needed, ensured that the pricing was outlined, reviewed the products to be used for the the services and provided me quick ride home in a very clean Service Vehicle. A few hours later got a call confirming all was done, no other issues, confirmed the price and offered a pickup ride, if needed, back to the shop. My MINI F56 was very well taken care of and runs like a dream (except to other cars on the road, to them, Aubrey is a nightmare.) I took far to long to write this because well life.... also it was only a break job. Anyway let me start with the fact that the "stealership" I got a quote from was almost double what German Auto Specialist quoted me. I won't bad talk the dealership because my last review got me a sit down talking too from the service manager when I decided to give them one more shot. Right Thousand Oaks MBZ dealer? Oops. Sorry. Anyway. Called these guys and they gave me an approximate quote ( obviously). So I took my car to them and got the same price quote again. Left my car with the hopes it would only be the front breaks that needed to be replaced. They were able to drive me Back to my home to wait for the work to be completed. I got a call a couple hours later. They told me What the actual price would be and let me know that yes In fact. Only front needed to be done. What? No up sell? No "just tell him he needs both so we get a few more bucks from him." Nice. They picked me up from my house after the work was finished and had my car parked outside ready to go. No waiting "a little longer". I paid what I thought was reasonable for the work and left happy. Who can say that about. Repair shop?.... ever? Thanks guys. I hope that I don't have to see you again. I have been taking by Porsche Boxster to Gino since 2014, not long after I purchased it from a co-worker who has no respect for mechanical things. Gino and his crew has corrected many things on this car, and every time I picked it up, it runs a little better than it did when I dropped it off. He has always been upfront and honest with me on how much repairs would cost or how long it would take, and he has been more than fair with how much labor he charges. He has always spoken to me with respect and has never been rude or condescending. Nothing is more frustrating then when you are looking for help with something you have no knowledge about and you end up trying to deal with some arrogant, lazy jerk. If you have a German made car, he is the one you want working the problem. I have not been able to stump him. He has always been able to answer my questions. Recently, he solved the issue I was having getting the car to pass smog. He went at the problem with enthusiasm and never even hinted that he would not be able to get it figured out and take care of it. Gino, I know that was a major headache for you for a couple weeks, and I appreciate you taking care of it for me. I had to take my Audi to the dealership for the front end alignment, as they don't have the equipment here yet. After the dealer inspection they told me I needed rear brakes and that my left high beam was out. I called over to German Auto Specialists to set an appointment and Gino said, we can take it today and it will be done today. They dropped me back off and also picked me up. The brake job was $300 less than the dealership. He also found the high beam was not working due to some wires that had come loose. He said the dealership would normally just replace the whole light kit for $1500. He charged me $100 to repair it. It was a great experience. read more

I was recommended to Gino by a friend and after shopping around for quotes at different places they were the most competitive. I called several times to inquire about brakes and rotors for my c250 sport coupe. Gino was very patient with me and was more than willing to help out. I brought my audi to them last min with gas intake isuues. I was a little worried cause I was asked to drop it off on a tuesday before I had to be at work and had no idea how I would get to work. Well their amazing team offered to take me to work and pick me up. And they did just that. Not only that, they diagnosed my car and fixed it all in the same day WHILE I WAS AT WORK. Recommendation is to avoid this shop. My first couple of visits were routine and ok. 3 visits for leaks and issues continue, was offered brakes every time. Smog guy tells me any mechanic worth their salt has tools/tech to detect where the fuel leak is at. Get a second opinion on my brakes and they're not as bad as this shop made it out to be. I've already spent quite a bit of money for absolutely no resolution to any of the original issues. Car is leaky again in the same spot. I don't even want to bother trying to bring my car back to see if they'll stand by their work because simply I don't think they will. Got burned for nearly $1000 and back at square one. read more

I have a few mercedes benzes and Gino and his technicians have worked on all of them, even my 42 years old 280se which mercedes benz dealer won't touch( their mechanics are not familiar with it, as per their own comments). They are honest and knowledgeable and have the latests software to determine the problems. Gino even refused to charge me for a front light bulb that he had to change.
