    This is cool

"Ticket didn't print". That's what happens when u trying going to MID places and giving them a chance. Even left a tip for the great customer service though how am I waiting over an hour and still no food, I understand it may be "understaffed" but customers behind me in line are getting their food before mine. All I ordered was a singular patty burger and fries. I find it really cool they got Pepsi and cola though that's it. May NEVER come back here, genuinely taking their advice and going to Carl's Jr as they would NEVER be this bad at giving me a burger and it tastes 10x better. The bathrooms are clean and the area is nice, parking sucks just like the food. Might have to take back the tip I left from their tip jar as they literally just robbed me of my time. As I am writing this, my food has still not been given out and I already asked them about it, other customers are still being given priority despite more than an hour wait. Not coming back and do NOT recommend.

Leading Man burger, small fries, large soft drink ($18)
    Ame G.

First time visiting and it was good! I ordered the "Leading Man", a small fry, and a large drink. They offer both Coke and Pepsi products along with Horchata, Jicama, and Stubborn Sodas! My order came out to our table 15 minutes later (freshly cooked to order). The burger was better than I expected. The portion size of meat was very generous and the meat quality itself tasted very good. Almost like a mix of Five Guys and In n Out burgers. So delicious. The fries were deliciously crispy too. The inside of the restaurant is a little warm, but a good amount of comfortable seating is offered inside, and a dog friendly patio around the building. Loved all of the beautifully painted wall murals too. Good first-time experience and one of the top burger places in Big Bear, in my opinion.

We got an order to go and the service was super quick and good. The menu is super Finn We ordered their leading lady and a leading man, a hot dog and nuggets for the kids, and their French fries and onion rings. Their different ranch dressings like the wasabi ranch were the stars of the show, along with the special sauce on the burgers. We enjoyed the meal and next time will try the dine in option. Definitely a great burger spot if you're visiting or live in Big Bear.

The Cod Burger was amazing brilliant in color & taste The Cole Slaw was fresh tasty & a wonderfully spice on the dressing. Service was slow but they warn you. it's not fastfood. As a cook myself I know quality tasty food takes time. The placed was packed inside & outside. The drivethu line never ended friendly tourist chatting all over ***It"s worth the wait*** This building had struggled getting a good business, not anymore. GET THE BURGER****is here to stay. Very reasonable price God Bless this new Business

    Chicken sandwich... delicious

This place was a hit. We were really craving fresh burgers with all the juice and sauce. We ordered two double cheeseburgers, chicken sandwich, hot dog, French fries, onion rings. Everything was awesome. So good, in fact, we visited two days in a row! Wait times were no more than 10 minutes, by the way! Parking is convenient, seating available inside and outside. I wish we would have got a t-shirt!

This burger was delicious. 9.2/10. The meat was seasoned well, very moist and flavorful overall. I love burger sauce so it could've used more than that is my only critique. We also got sweet potato and regular fries, they were good. Highly recommend this spot if you're looking for a burger. You won't find better in Big Bear!

Super good food fo such a reasonable price! I was so surprised that given Big Bear is predominantly a tourist area, they are not charging ridiculous amount for their food, especially since they're so far away from the main civilization. Food is generous amount, they have yummy options, and overall great service. Highly recommend this place!

    This is the table!!!!!

This is not about the food, it's fine. Sat outside, decent patio. Clean the tables!!!!!! Even after requesting they be cleaned they ate disgusting .If you are offering outside eating , clean the tables!!!

I think I may have set my expectations a little too high after seeing this place all over social media. Unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to the hype it felt more like an overhyped Carl's Jr. The burger itself was underwhelming; the patty tasted like it had been frozen, and the veggies didn't seem very fresh. That said, the pickle fries were a standout crispy, flavorful, and easily the highlight of the meal. We chose to sit out on the deck, which had a really charming view of the forest definitely a plus for the atmosphere. The wait for food was a bit longer than expected, but the staff was very friendly and welcoming throughout our visit. Overall, it was an okay experience. Not bad, just not quite what I'd hoped for.

Welp, we came this past Saturday during the power outage of the entire Big Bear Valley... to say that EVERYONE was on the look out for any place that had electricity should tell you that it was as if we were living in dystopian times LMAO!! The restaurant staff handled it like Champs! We arrived right as they opened at 11:30 AM, and they KNEW it was going to be one of those days from go. Plenty of seating indoors and out. Food was fresh, music was pleasant, and beer was cold. I got the 'Leading Man' with beer-battered onion rings. Ask for the side of ranch dressing at the counter before you have a seat. Respectfully Reviewed.

    Ryan H.

Good quality burgers for a good value. $10 for a single and roughly $13 for a double. Patties are thick cut. Codfather ~$10 is solid option too! Only downside is the wait. Wait in the line was a good 15-20min, wait for the food is another 30-45min. But they do warn you that the wait is long. Up to you if you want to wait that long for your food. Besides the wait food is solid. Good classic burgers. Patio is dog friendly and the owners were really nice!

    Nasty food

Walked in and stoop in front of the register for almost 10 min before being acknowledged. Kitchen full of people. Took our order. They only take CASH We kept seeing everyone's food get taken out. They threw our receipt away. Ignored us. We were sitting in an almost empty restaurant. Long story short if you are any color but WHITE do not go here. You are not welcome. We are glad we didn't eat here. In a town full of options - you do not need to deal with filthy incompetent people

Haven't been here in a couple of years. Burgers are as good as I remember. I had a protein style double patty which was good. Service is great and they have music playing in the background. Sorry no photos of food this time around.

Everything from the bathroom to the lobby to the little dining room is really tricked out nicely. This place probably is more of a bar for beer and they happen to do food also. In the indoor dining room they have four televisions with the latest sporting events going. When we were there, two of the TVs were tuned to the pre-All-Star game, one was the NBA Summer league and the final one was to some Spanish station that had some type of soap opera /talk show going on. The wife ordered the declaration burger and I ordered the Californication burger. They both came with french fries. The one thing we both noted was the cold buns. This really immediately made the burger not that appealing. Both burgers were cooked to order. I can talk directly to mine. It was a good burger with an Ortega green chili on it piece of cheese two piece of bacon and shredded lettuce and some diced tomatoes. Unfortunately having a cool doughy bun on a hot burger just didn't do it. The wife complained of the exact same thing. The french fries were hot, but they were nothing to write home about. No seasoning or anything like that. They were not very busy when we walked in three tables going. The service was slow because our server was talking to some friend at the end of the bar who appeared to be an employee on break. They have a great concept and with a little effort and attention to detail the food could be outstanding. With all the competition going on in the village, we were really looking for so much more. We thought we were gonna be getting a Great light designer burger, that really wowed us with taste. But that didn't happen. Might give it a try again. We're making a point to try to hit every single place in the village and the surrounding area.

There were a a handful of people waiting to be seated when we arrived and the couple before us were seated at the last outdoor patio table available. The hostess told us that we could go upstairs to the bar area and sit anywhere we wanted and a server would be with us directly. So that's what we did. As a side note, the whole vibe of the restaurant was very comfortable and the building itself is pretty remarkable. Water and menus were delivered within minutes of us selecting our table, and our waitress Victoria maintained that same level of attentiveness the whole time we were there. The biggest shortcoming of so many restaurants in and around Big Bear is the bar and their specialty drinks. But this place just slam dunked on every other restaurant we've ever tried over the years - and not just for the drinks. I love a good old fashioned but until last night, every place I'd been to served their old fashioned in a glass full of ice like I was getting a soda at a fast food drive through. Not here. A proper big block ice cube made the "Maple old fashioned" (hands down) the best drink I've ever had. (I think they've got like 7 or 8 different varieties of the old fashioned and I will definitely be back to try them.) Our potato skins appetizer was on another level and that was before our entrees even arrived. My beef dip sandwich was perfect as was wifey's chicken Scaloppini. The timing of food arriving and the periodic check-ins from our waitress was flawless. We spoke briefly with the bartender, Doug (who may or may not have been one of the owners) to express how much we enjoyed our drinks and dinner. The hallmark of a well-run restaurant is that everyone who works there conducts themselves like it's their name on the sign out front. That's exactly what we got from everyone involved. Whoever is in charge of the kitchen staff deserves a Michelin star rating. The rest of the staff is equally impressive. I can't say enough about this place. Excellent drinks, excellent food and dynamite service. If you want a top-notch dining experience in Big Bear, this should be your first and only choice. From now on, it'll be mine.

Order from the window and take your food to eat out on the back patio. The menu is different from what you can find on these Yelp menu photos so expect the prices to be a lot higher than two years ago, but prices are way higher everywhere from two years ago. I ordered a one item plate w two sides thinking I might not have ordered enough food but boy was I wrong. The sides portions are huge, the cornbread is huge, and the meat filled me up. The beans here are a spicy chili bean type that went great on top of the corn bread. The slaw was very good and the mac n cheese was reminiscent of kraft mac n cheese only w/ the addition of pepper and a sharper cheese flavor giving it a memorable taste. The potato salad was decent, potatoes prolly coulda been cooked a tiny bit longer but the rest of the salad tasted good. The star of the show was the brisket. You will get a slice or two near the end that might be cooked thru a little too much for my liking but the majority of what you get is melt in your mouth deliciousness. The honey mustard sauce they offer is perfect to dip the well done slices in but the juicy slices go great unassisted. Then, while waiting for the check, I made the mistake of reading the one-star reviews. Now I *had* to leave one. Yes, the food isn't served at lightning speed. Ours wasn't either. And you know what? It was worth every minute. This is a small, family-run restaurant--not a corporate chain with an army of cooks hidden behind swinging kitchen doors. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, tasted homemade, and arrived hot and fresh. The staff was warm, welcoming, and working incredibly hard. As a bonus, they're genuinely dog-friendly. We were able to enjoy breakfast with our pup on the patio, and they even have a dog menu. That's not just "dogs allowed"--that's a business that goes the extra mile. Somewhere along the way we've confused "not instant" with "bad service." We expect fresh, made-to-order food from small businesses to appear with fast-food timing, then punish them when it doesn't. Patience has become a lost art. If you're in a hurry, there are plenty of drive-thrus. If you want an outstanding breakfast, friendly people, a place that welcomes your dog as warmly as it welcomes you, and food that's worth waiting for, Broadway Cafe is absolutely deserving of its reputation. We waited according to your instructions and schedule. We were told many different wait times every time we followed up and asked. The time kept getting longer and longer when there were no other parties waiting but us. First we were told 30mins, then literally minutes later it changed. Then an additional 20mins added. Then, 30. Then we waited, and it changed again. They kept telling us it would be longer and longer. Why would the time go backwards? A small gilled cheese sandwich for an hour? One order. You can ask any business owner or any place outside of your small town that it is a ridiculous wait time for a customer to wait for that long for one small sandwich. Instead of arguing back with your customers, a decent thing to do would have been to apologize and just have accommodated the sandwich just for having us almost an hour of waiting without even getting in. A true business owner wouldn't have responded in how you did. Not only horrible service, but bad ownership practices so I see where it reflects poorly.

Overall, great spot, amazing staff, great variety of beers and seltzers, the pizzas are killer, the nachos were perfect, cocktails were a hit, great space for watching a game or hosting a group apparently, and even better for a date night! Stoked to have a place like The Bear Trap in Big Bear. Already planning our next trip.
