This new sandwich shop is amazing! Ordered it with my mom a couple times and each time we have both really liked the sandwiches. The bread is amazing and well toasted with the meats always tasting very fresh. Hardly had to wait when we order too which is a positive. The service was amazing as the worker was very helpful our first time there recommended what they like and what they would add to certain sandwiches. Yummy, high quality sandwiches! We thought we'd try Ghost Sando Shop since it's right down the street from us. We were fairly happy with our sandwiches! We arrived and were greeted by a kind and helpful employee who asked us if we had been there before. When we said no, she gave some recommendations for a hot and a cold sandwich, and we decided to try them both. We got 'The Melrose,' a hot sandwich, and 'Uncle Nikki,' a cold sandwich. The Melrose was really good, but extremely peppery. Too peppery to the point where I could barely finish it. My husband traded me his half of the Uncle Nikki when he saw my eyes were watering from mine. The Uncle Nikki was DELICIOUS! It cooled my mouth down and everything on it was so good! I also read many reviews mentioning the Dutch bread, we both thought the bread was delicious! Inside it is simple and clean with plenty of seating. I had to remove a star because of the price to value. I felt it was really expensive for 2 small sandwiches, over $35, it doesn't come with a drink or any sides, and there wasn't a whole lot of meat in the sandwich at all... see the pictures. We ordered the smallest size (which they call 'large' then there is XL and XXL) and noticed if we had got the larger size the sandwich doesn't even get bigger, they just add meat and cheese. So it is the same size and type of bread for all sandwiches. The bags are cute, but you can't help but feel like that cost is bundled into the price of your sandwich. read more

If you're a sandwich fan, this is the place for you. They have enough options to satisfy any palete, but not too many to overwhelm a hungry belly. They have both hot and cold options as well as a "build your own" option. The bread is tasty with both savory and sweet undertones, and the "large" sandwich is more than enough. Curious to see what an "XL" looks like and if I can devour it. I can't speak to all options, but the Firebird cold sandwich was great. Well stacked with thinly shredded lettuce, pastrami turkey (I must have been living under a rock because I was both shocked and pleased to taste this), pickles, and cheese to name a few of the ingredients that comprise the filling. Decided to try this new sandwich spot that just opened. The customer service was great and the food fantastic. I had the Large Uncle Nikki and my husband had an XL Melrose. The difference in their sizing isn't length, but girth. (TWSS!) So, they're all the same length, but the larger sandwiches get taller. They are a little pricey, but a large is still very big. And the quality of the meats, cheeses, and veggies is top notch. There are some tables to eat. It's a no frills interior sandwich shop with good sandwiches. The hottest Sando shop finally makes its way to La Mirada. I've been wanting to visit this shop on Melrose and have never had the chance . I was excited and shocked to hear a ghost Sando shop was opening in La Mirada! I decided to go today to grab lunch. I was looking for a classic turkey and cheese but couldn't find one on the menu. I opted for tuna instead. Their sandwiches come in three sizes and I got the large. It comes on the most amazing bread, the Dutch crunch. The sandwich was pretty big to me and they don't skimp on the ingredients. It was pretty messy but I just used my chips to scoop up the fallen tuna. The tuna itself was so flavorful. Way better than the chain sandwich shop that I won't name. I was only able to finish about half of the sandwich. The shop itself seemed pretty big. It had plenty of tables and was really clean. Tried Ghost Sando Shop and it was pretty good. I felt like the quality of ingredients was there and I like the choice of sandwich options and different sauces on the sandwiches. I give it 4 stars and not 5 for 2 reasons... 1. You don't see your sandwich being made. Not a big deal, but I'm curious if the meat/cheese is pre-sliced, pre-packaged, but it's not a deal breaker. 2. They only have one size of bread so it's difficult to share. Not quite enough for two people. The difference between sizes is the amount of meat/cheese added to the sandwich. L, XL, and XXL. The sandwiches I ordered were Large and already pretty thick with ingredients. I feel like XL and XXL would just be more difficult to eat unless you can unhinge your jaw. (A family of 4 walked in after me and due to the sizes had to order more sandwiches rather than share them.) I guess the upside to that is you get to try more of them. We ordered Reuben's Cousin and Kicken' Chicken- both hot sandwiches and both good. The bread is crackled a bit on top (from baking) and the crackle tastes a bit sweet. Great texture. Next time we'll try a couple cold sandwich options. Service was good and the place was very clean. Parking is difficult, but locals all know this. Not the best place to try to go if it's a busy lunch hour. read more

This is a newly opened branch in La Mirada, I've never heard of it but it seemed to be a very popular sandwich chain in LA. The staff is super friendly and provided very efficient service despite being pretty busy during Sunday lunch rush. The restaurant is large, but the parking is tight. All the bread is Dutch crunch which was a really fun texture. We got all sandwiches in Large which was more than enough for me. Uncle Nikki -- 4/5, a classic Italian sandwich but more loaded. 4 because the other menu items had more interesting ingredient and flavor combinations! But is still a great sando. BLAST -- 5/5, I love a BLT and the upgrades on this sandwich were crazy. The avocado is chef's kiss in here! The Better -- 5/5, my partner likes roast beef and really enjoyed this. The young woman at the counter was friendly and pleasant, and definitely knew the menu I ordered the BLAST which is their take on a bacon, lettuce, avocado sandwich. Compared to the pictures of the other sandwiches this one's a little meager in the meat layer. There was only a thin layer of bacon on it with a ton of lettuce. The blast sauce they put on it is tasty but spicy and it makes the sandwich very wet. I ordered the sun-dried tomato on the side ($1.50 extra) and it is a better spread. I would probably ask for traditional mayonnaise not the Blast sauce . I also paid for cheese, which was two dollars, and is literally only a slice. I enjoyed the bread. It was awesome. All in all, this was an $18 sandwich. That's a lot of money without a drink or chips. Yes, I know everything is expensive. You also have to think about value. I cannot save the other half of the sandwich until later because it is soaking wet with sauce. Something to remember if you plan on saving some for later. read more

I got the Uncle Nikki which is essentially an Italian and it was delicious. The dressing was very flavorful and the pepperoni had a nice kick. The bread is slightly sweet so that adds an interesting flavor to the mix. The only thing keeping it from a 5 star, is that for the price ($13 for a 6"), the meat ratio was really light. Omg I finally was able to try this place out. I have been wanting to come for a while. My family and I ordered The Melrose and kickin chicken. Both were AMAAZING! Such great flavors. The melrose will definitely be something I will frequent often. You can just tell all the sandwiches are great and you can also build your own. The bread is also super soft and tasty. They also have fresh agua frescas. Pineapple strawberries hibiscus and watermelon I definitely recommend those. If you dine in you get one free refill. They also have fountain drinks (Coke products) and other bottled beverages. Lots of variety which I love. The last thing worth to mention is that their customer service is top tier. I have been coming here ever since they opened, I live about 30 mins away but I love the subs. I am very picky about the things I eat, but this place it's so good. They load up these subs which makes it worth it A regular or large sub really fills me up and you get free refills on the fruit drinks. they are also very helpful and always encourage me to get a new sub. It doesn't seem so squished and I really like that they have an open space. I've never had any issues here. The workers do care about what they make and how the customer feels.
