Great place for brunch. When I told my husband I was going to Gigglewaters for brunch with friends, he said, "Isn't that a bar?" Well, yes, but it is also a fantastic place for brunch. A friend recommended it and I was just along for the ride. Said friend thought it was going to be a line out the door, so she asked how early I could make it. They open at 9 a.m., so I begrudgingly said maybe 9:30 a.m. We were there right at 9:30 a.m. and there were only two other tables seated outside and no one inside. By the time we left around 11:30 a.m., there was only one table left open outside and it seemed like half the tables were open inside. This was on a Sunday. I think if you decide to eat brunch at a more reasonable hour, you still won't have to wait. I stared with the Bloody Mary. It's made with roasted garlic and was delicious. I highly recommend it. Then for my meal I got the Napoleon with coffee (needed to wake up since we got there at 9:30 a.m.). I didn't realize that their bubbly of the day is champagne infused with flavor. Our day, it was dessert pear. It came out a pinkish color (my friend ordered it). You can get carafes of their brunch drinks, which is a great idea if everyone is drinking the same thing. My second choice was the Buchanan, which my friend got. I really enjoyed my The Napoleon. The Buchanan looked more filling (the omelet was a good size), so depending on how hungry I am, I may switch to The Buchanan next time. This place is slow in terms of service, I think it was one waiter for the whole outside. But this isn't the type of place you should be in a rush to leave. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal and I'll definitely come back. read more

Last night's experience felt like the Twilight Zone - not the movie we bought tickets for, which was Elf. If you're not familiar, Gigglewaters has a dine in movie experience. Food here has been historically good, and movie experience fun. Because of the treatment from "new management" - I will never be spending a dime here again nor even stepping foot inside this establishment. With high expectations from past visits of seeing movies and a meal at Gigglewaters, my wife and I had high hopes for our (first visit in a while) last night. We had just got a new puppy so after arranging a dog-sitter we headed over from St. Petersburg with our pre-bought (weeks in advance) tickets. The showing was at 4pm, with us arriving promptly at 3:55. Upon entering their "theatre" my wife and I noticed there were no two seats together. No big deal we thought and a very resolvable situation as long as we spoke with a service member. Upon speaking to the manager I was shocked by, in all honestly - the worst customer service interaction in my life. I was immediately told it was our fault we did not arrive "early enough" and the seating is "first come, first serve". Now, we PRE-BOUGHT two tickets. I didn't know five minutes early wasn't "early enough" (insane). A similar situation to as if we pre-bought tickets to a comedy club.. I am not expecting my wife and I to sit on opposite sides of the room and the establishment(which I have been at many) would never expect us to do that. So we asked for a resolution. Now, the disorganization is one thing and we are flexible.. But to be gaslit and told repeatedly by the manager it is specifically our fault was appalling. After going back and forth with her (and without us yelling, cursing, causing a scene) she continued to double down on how it was our fault. Not one word of accomodation. She then wrote our name and number on a piece of paper and walked away. After waiting 10 minutes she walks back, looks at us, and says "why are you still here?". She said she would call me later that night to answer my question about getting our money back - which never happened. Again, we are extremely reasonable people and understand things happen in dining, but to be disrespected and treated to the level we were - we will never be spending a dollar here again. The situation is baffling and I felt like I was watching the Twilight Zone, not the movie of the night - Elf. And for extra detail - we immediately went to another restaurant right down the street, had amazing service and food, and watched Elf at home. We will not be losing sleep over not going here again. read more

They have indoor and outdoor seating available. Indoor is very small with tables and bar seating. 1 restroom so be prepared to stand in line if you gotta go! Service was slow which is my only negative! We sat outside and it took forever to get even water. Had to flag down our waitress a few times for refills and napkins throughout the visit. We were seated prior to a few other tables but served last despite our orders being placed before theirs. When we questioned we were told that because those tables had 3 people as opposed to out 5 people it was easier and quicker to get their food out. Say what!? A very cool restaurant and venue in the prime spot of Main Street, Safety Harbor. You honestly wouldn't even know it's here, but both indoor and outdoor seating with both options being good. Also, on the inside they have a movie theatre playing classic movies, where you can eat and watch a movie at the same time if you are feeling it, which is a cool and unique touch to the restaurant. The food itself is great. The Tommy Gun Margherita is super Smokey and spicy, which is my kind of taste. The pretzels with beer cheese are probably my favorite I've tried in the Tampa Bay area. For the main event, The Hendry, a nice juicy gourmet burger on a brioche bun with perfectly seasoned fries. A very gourmet type of restaurant which is very much worth the hype it receives. Ok, look. I've had this place bookmarked for quite some time and finally made my way over there. It was INSANELY delicious! The chicken and waffles is BY FAR the TASTIEST chicken and waffles I have EVER HAD , amazingly scrumptious! The chicken was seasoned perfectly and is delicious on its own and decadent with the waffle and syrup. I could have engorged myself. We did have the baby Bellas as an appetizer and it was delicious and a much larger portion than we expected. Two of us didn't finish it. We also shared the Goldie Mac and cheese and it was delicious and creamy. For drinks, the Black Ship old fashioned was amazing and the Tommy Gun margarita was all I've ever wanted and never knew. My server, Dan was very attentive throughout my experience and thorough with the history of the quaint setting of this downtown historic restaurant. He recommended his favorite foods and the selection of many sauces offered to pare with the foods and appetizer did not disappoint. My best friend and I had a BLAST at Gigglewaters this weekend! Parking was free on the street in front and easy to grab. We secured tickets to Step Brothers in the screening room for $5 each and got there 45 min early to hang at the bar. We both got their signature margarita (delicious) and a side of fries to share. There's bar seating, indoor and outdoor. We went into the screening room where there are like 16 pairs of wooden seats with a small wooden table. They use a light button system with colors for service, check, etc. We ordered the cookie butter popcorn which came first. This thing was ridiculously incredible, my GOODNESS. There were a few chocolate covered peanuts (we wished there was more) and popcorn that was covered in some kind of sweet, cookie-butter flavor or sauce or SOMETHING??? We were in such heaven eating this popcorn we almost regretted ordering dinner because we just wanted to feast on this stuff. Our rookie mistake was ordering salads as our main, in a dark movie theater room where we couldn't see our plates to use our utensils. My friend got the caprese salad with chicken and I got the chicken salad salad. It was impossible to fork the lettuce and get chicken and everything because they came deconstructed rather than mixed and chopped (which in hindsight, duh), but it made for a difficult eating experience. That was our fault though! They tasted good, we just had no idea what we were eating. We requested the check before the movie ended so we could quickly bounce at the end. It was so pleasant and so much fun!! Next time, I'd probably skip the movie and just hang at the bar, but it was definitely a unique experience and I'd highly recommend. read more

The food here is excellent! Portions are decent. We got the Willie Dynamite and the Mac the Dog. The service is very good. Bartenders make very good cocktails. The ambiance is a very speakeasy vibe. A nice selection of liquor along the wall behind the bar. We were sad to see the smoking boxes are no longer on the bar. What a pity as they made for a much better presentation and flavour! I stopped in for brunch at Gigglewaters on a recent visit to Tampa Bay and the first thing I noticed was how cool the vibe was! It felt like a speakeasy with leather banquettes, dim lighting and vintage ceiling tiles. The menu was filled with off-the-beaten path options. We opted for the breakfast burrito and plain Jane burger. The food didn't blow me away by any means, but the quality was good, the service was great and the ambiance was the real winner (though it was surprisingly loud for brunch time). The highlight for me was the fact that my entree came with a drink selection. The bubbly of the day (desert pear) was delicious, in addition to being a beautiful shade of pink! I visited Gigglewaters yesterday for a late lunch and a movie. We grabbed food in the restaurant first. The staff was super friendly, efficient and helpful. Out food and drinks were tasty and came out in an appropriate amount of time. I got the patty melt and the bangtail drink. The person I was with got the bacon wrapped hot dog and a giggle juice. The back theater for movie showings was a good size, could seat about 30 people. The movie tickets, food and beverage were all reasonably priced and worth our time and what we paid. I found this place through googling "fun things to do around Tampa when it's raining." I've been to Safety Harbor many times and I've never heard of this place! The menu looked great and what a way to spend a rainy day watching an older movie! This place is so cute!! The viewing room is in the back of the restaurant, so it's separate and quiet for the movie. The setup was so cute!! I didn't get a picture of the food because it was dark, but my husband and I both got burgers and they were delicious!!! Pretty cool place in the quaint city (feels like a town) of safety Harbor. Gigglewaters is set up like a 1920s 30s Prohibition joint. Dark walls, old time photos on the walls, looks great. It also has outside seating which was very popular the afternoon that we visited. The menu is very unique. I will not list all the interesting choices, check out the menu photos. My choice for lunch was the Lansky. A quarter pound all beef hotdog, wrapped in bacon, deep fried, nestled in a toasted hotdog bun, with a large smear of cream cheese topped off with some scallions. What's that you say? Doesn't sound good? Wrong! It was freaking delicious! My Bride chose To have a burger named the meat wagon burger. It came with cheddar cheese, bacon, and a sunny side up fried egg. She subbed onion straws instead of fries. I think this was the first time she ordered a burger at a restaurant that she was happy with it! Yay! In the back room you can find old time movies Being played nightly with seats with small tables for enjoying snacks or your meals while viewing. What a fun time we had in their little cinema! They play classic movies for $5. We saw a movie from the 80s and they ran commercials from the time period beforehand! Wonderful, speedy, lunch at Gigglewaters in Safety Harbor. We sat at the bar and took in the "speakeasy vibe." Copper ceiling, throwback photos on the walls, and a vintage bar from the 1930s are just some of the highlights of this establishment. We started by ordering some Harlem Sunset Margaritas. The drinks were awesome and tasted delicious. We started off with a classic small popcorn with butter. The kernels were small and soft. Delicious! After our appetizer, we ordered our entrees. We chose the Gennaro and the Virgil Starkwell. The chicken in both sandwiches was well seasoned, moist and well prepared. The tater tots were cooked perfectly--crispy shell with a warm, soft center. We will definitely return to checkout the movie theater at the rear of the social club. All together we made it through drinks and food in 30 minutes. I'll start with the good. The food was 4.5 stars. After reading many of the reviews I tried the Count Rugen. Typically not liking the fried aspect I was surprised this wasn't dripping with grease. It had great flavor, was super juicy and huge. Would highly recommend. Also tried the Burke, which is a more healthy chicken salad wrap. With cranberries and cucumbers. All great choices to stuff in a nice size wrap. Sandwiches come with fries, which is what I would highly recommend. Huge pile. Tasty. Crisp. Umm umm good. What I wouldn't recommend at all are the upgrade to to truffle fries. There were maybe three small pieces of cheese on the huge pile of fries that unfortunately were all stuck on two fries. And the garlic was limited too. Terrible choice for the $2 upcharge (almost sent this back to fix but the waitress didn't return for at least 15 minutes),. Service: Not too good here. They appear understaffed even though they weren't too busy. The tap water must not be all you can drink because mine went empty about five minutes into my meal and was never refilled, ever. I had to drink from another persons, who luckily shared. Waitress never asked how the food was, probably because she missed about 90% of the eating period. We saw her be pulled away from chatting with one table because another table needed service. And she did this with a smirk, like "how dare you ask that I take care of one of my tables". Another question mark was why we were seated in the smallest table in the entire establishment under a bunch of Christmas lights that decorated my arm throughout the meal and on top of two ladies sitting at the next table when you had an entire restaurant full of empty tables closer to the kitchen? The house flies were also pretty bad inside, as the restaurant is open to the outside. One fly was mashed on the window screen but the one that had lunch with us kept landing close by before dive bombing for more grub. Wish we would have brought our fly swatters. Ambiance: nice vibe with the exception of being on top of one another. Hopefully to get better service the next time. Parking: plenty on a Saturday for lunch. Just went down a side street. Safety Harbor is a very accommodating town. After our meal we visited about ten shops and galleries. Note that many close at 3pm on the weekend. Definitely a cute hidden gem located in Safety Harbor. I love the ambiance and vibes they give off here. Awesome food, nice servers. There's a movie theater inside the restaurant too that you would have to call ahead for just incase it sells out. The brunch menu is such a good deal and it's just full of whimsical food options. Located in a beautiful friendly downtown area that's super dog friendly and a nice pier that's not too far off. It's the perfect place to spend a day there. I'll start by saying this: Our experience at Gigglewaters was so good that it made me wish Yelp allowed 6-star ratings. Since they don't, I'll just have to think about future reviews differently, as in when considering the food at a new place and thinking it should get 5 stars I'll need to consider the question, "Yeah, but was it as good as Gigglewaters?" Mel and I stopped in for lunch on a Saturday when we had to be up in North Pinellas for other errands. That's important to mention because we live in Gulfport and don't get up to towns like Safety Harbor on the other side of Pinellas very often, but Gigglewaters might change that. We asked for an inside table considering there was rain in the forecast and got a 2-top in the center of the dining room with the bar to one side of us and more tables with banquette seating on the other. The spot offered a wonderful opportunity to take in the space's fun classic Speakeasy decor: faux rubbed bronze ceiling tiles, damask patterned wallpaper in classic maroon and gold, dark wood furniture, and classic signage behind the bar and calling out Gigglewaters' screening room in the back. If you love the Speakeasy look and vibe, this place absolutely nails it - you need to see it for yourself. Of course, you can't have a good speakeasy without good booze. Gigglewaters delivers in that department, as well, Mel had actually been there with another friend recently, so she went with a drink she'd enjoyed on her previous visit: the "Noble Experiment." Four Roses Bourbon, plum, black cherry, sours and club soda make this one surprisingly sweet and refreshing, like a glammed-up Whiskey Sour. I, on the other hand, went with "The Black Ship." This one also starts with Four Roses, but that's where the similarities end. Throw in some Dow's Port wine, spiced maple syrup, bitters and garnish with a smoking sprig of Rosemary and you get a cozy, more full bodied take on an Old Fashioned. Both were terrific and are perfect choices for whiskey cocktail lovers--the Noble Experiment might be the better choice for day drinking on hot days, while the Black Ship is a nighttime cocktail choice, for sure. Finally, we get to the food. Both Mel and I went with melts -- she went with "Quite Possibly the World's Greatest Patty Melt," the Gigglemelt, while I went with "The Big Chick." Now, I'm certainly never going to claim that I've tried every patty melt the world has to offer. But if there's any in the Tampa Bay Area that has a right to claim the title of "World's Greatest", I'd support this one. It's all about their house made pimento cheese -- the savory culinary glue that holds this bit of brilliance together combined with a Wagyu beef patty, sautéed onions, thousand island and served on grilled garlic toast. Between our two meals, this was the clear winner, though "The Big Chick" didn't disappoint in the least, as their fried chicken had great crunch and flavor when added to their pimento cheese and sandwiched between grilled garlic toast. Do yourself a favor if you order this one: add bacon and get their Mac n' Cheese as your side. Your mouth will thank you, though your arteries may not! Top all this goodness off with incredibly friendly service and you've got an experience that you'll want to repeat over and over. Just keep in mind it's not a big space, so they'll fill up quickly, especially if they've got a classic movie going in the screening room, which they almost always do. Get there early, get a cocktail and a melt, and just let your appetites take over. read more
