After an accident I was researching local body shops and instantly looked into Gili's upon seeing their great ratings and costumer reviews. I brought my jeep into Gili's with some front end damage, Orna made a great impression from the start and was straightforward with the whole process I'd needed to go through with my insurance to getting it into the garage. Upon dropping my car off I was made clear of a timeline and the process my car would be undergoing, whether it was adjustment, ordering more parts, insurance related things, the whole lot. I was kept in the loop everytime my insurance was involved, I was told what parts were being ordered, when they were expected to arrive and what was going on. I was not left in the dark and felt part of the entire process. That's something I'm not used to when dealing with garages and it was a breath of fresh air. I just picked my jeep up this morning (it was finished a day ahead of when they originally expected) and I'm blown away with everything. The car looks amazing, runs better, and is squeaky clean! As someone who does a lot of my own vehicle upkeep I'm always terrified when dealing with garages for fear of being ripped off or given the run around, and my car means a lot to me. Gili's Autobody - Car fixed better then the factory paint - Body Shops Near Me - Rockville, Maryland

Gili's is working on two auto claims for me. This has been a horrible experience. I asked for the estimate and they were unable to provide it to me. I went to the shop to get something out of my car and I found the bumper they are repairing sitting inside my car, possibly scratching up my leather seats. There has also been major delays, my vehicle has been there for over THREE WEEKS. They stated they were going to submit a supplement so my rental car would be extended by USAA, but yet again they did not submit a supplement. So, I will have to pay for my own rental car for weeks because they didn't timely order parts. USAA has stated they are not responsible for there delays due to them delaying ordering parts. They are nickel and diming everything with extra fees. The cost is way over the amount that was estimated by the USAA approved shop. I recommend only going to approved body shops. With having to now pay for rental car I have to spend money I don't have. They don't seem to care about customers at all with being okay with scratching up the inside of my car with the bumper. Now, they decided they won't inform USAA of further delays. Delays, Delays...& more money for a rental car. I don't even know how this legal. I have no estimate, it's crazy. The previous reviews have to be fake or maybe I just got discriminated against. If I could give zero stars, I would. With how much this is going to cost me I wish I never took my car to them. I can not say enough good things about the people at gilis. I have uploaded some before and after photos and it's clear with out a doubt gilis is the best. They provide excellent customer service and true quality to their repairs. I am an ase master certified tech, former certified Porsche tech and now Mercedes certified tech and am very picky about having some one else work on my car. I have always taken apart the work these guys have done and never have found 1 thing wrong. The right clips and screws and ofcourse oem parts were always used. I just had to bring my girlfriends Audi in to get two small panels painted and i got it back a couple days later and it's perfect you can not tell it had been painted. INTRO A little over two months ago, my car was hit on the driver-side, rear quarter panel and the bumper. I didn't have a go-to shop, so I did some research. I saw the Yelp reviews and the Website and decided to check them out. Their claim is they work for you, not the insurance company. ROUND 1 After meeting with the shop manager (known as the SM from here on out) and briefly with Gil, I was sold. They convinced me that my car would be better than when I brought it in and it would be ready in a week and a half. Hmm. I dropped it off a week after the estimate. Three and half weeks later, I picked it up. Over the phone, the SM said it was perfect, so I was instantly excited. Upon arriving and close inspection, I noticed that the paint job was not smooth; to make matters worse, the shop manager scratched my car while prepping it. The driver-side rear door had new creases and dings in it--this door WAS absolutely perfect before entering Gili's--and the driver's door had two new dings. This was just the beginning of my problems: the FM/AM radio has annoying static on all channels; the 40-split rear seat was also refusing to close; the tint on one of the windows was scratched; after checking my trunk, I noticed the 12-volt outlet was completely missing; someone actually took the time to put a rubber plug in it's place. All the while, the SM assured me that these things didn't exist. Seriously, how's this guy going to tell me about MY car?! I expressed my concerns and the SM kept assuring me I was seeing things--I know he wanted to tell me I was delusional. Since I returned the rental, he said he would PERSONALLY pick up my car and I could use his car to get to work while they addressed the defects in workmanship. I know that's not exactly protocol, but he seemed genuine. I agreed. After attempting to coordinate with the SM multiple times, he text messages (I still have these) me saying that the shop was busy, that he has personal problems, and that I should stop bugging him with all these problems. I see how it is, they work for me, not the insurance company, right until they get paid, then it's F-U. A week later, I visit the shop to show the problems to Gil; I can tell he's suspicious of my claims and has his guard up. But he does work with me. I reschedule with the shop after a long, grueling month of coordinating with the insurance company and Gili's. ROUND 2 I provide them with an itemized list of the issues and after a week, SM says they're all done with my list, that he's personally checked them all off, and the car would be ready at 5:30PM. Oh, by-the-way, SM doesn't want to deal with me anymore; he defers to Gil. When I arrive, I see my car still dirty, so SM sends me to Gil; I'm virtually ignored as I wait. I get up after five minutes because I hear my exhaust rev up and head outside. The SM starts bossing around the shop foreman who's cleaning my car. Didn't the SM scratch my car last time? After the wash, I meet SM outside and he's like, "Everything's good." He shows me the outlet, check; the scratch he made, check; the door, still creased. At that point I was like, "Whatever, I just want my car back." He keeps saying everything's done, then I'm like, "Oh, yeah?! Then why's my seat still not locking?" He IN-STANT-LY gets super defensive saying, "DON'T COME AT ME, MAN!" He's like, "Honestly, we don't even have to pay for this." Now I'm confused. I remind him that he was the one who talked-up the shop, that their quality was this and that and how the car would be better than when I brought it in. The last time I checked the body shop is supposed to cross things off the To-Do List, not add to it. He quiets down and says, "I know, I know." He gets the Korean guy who did the body work. I watch this guy ATTEMPT to fix the seat. He's adjusting and slamming my seat repeatedly; I'm recording him while he does this. It's past 6:00PM. He gives up and Gil finally comes out. After five minutes, Gil figures out how to fix it. After 30 minutes, he's done. I say to him, "Now, if you worked on my car in the first place, then we wouldn't be in this mess." We shake on it and I leave. CONCLUSION To be honest, before initially taking my car in, I had complete faith in the shop. I didn't even bug them while they worked on my car for 3.5 weeks. Even after I saw the new problems for the first time, I was still mellow and easy-going. The body work was pretty good and acceptable. I've been to reputable shops before and still had to take my cars back in. My gripe is with their customer service and their handling of the loose-ends. The deception and lies from the shop manager were also very unprofessional. If you're a person who likes to be treated with respect and you pay attention to your car, then I suggest you look elsewhere. Gil is actually really good, but he needs to check his staff and their workmanship; they're hurting his reputation. read more

Absolute, total scam. Do not go here, especially if you are paying out of pocket, as they will simply include all sorts of unnecessary things in the work, to jack up the estimate. They're basically there to rip off everyone, whether it's the insurance firm or you. I got an estimate that I knew right away was ridiculous, and ended up getting the work done for about 1/3rd (33%) of that amount from another place. Never going back here again. read more

I have to admit - I was lured into trying this place from a Yelp promotion when I looked for a auto body shop near me. Who else can I rely on for reliable business options besides the Yelp community, especially if a small(er) business took their effort to raise their exposure by advertising on Yelp. Hard to find parking here, but just pull into a spot and you're golden. The service guy Greg was no-nonsense business and did a good job assessing my damaged bumper and gave me a complete written estimate for repairs. He was even able to give me a time estimate for doing the repairs after receiving parts. Also a perk that the body shop is linked to its own mechanic shop in the case that body repairs lead to hidden mechanical repairs. I haven't seen that much but it makes sense they're together. FYI - as with all auto businesses in this area it can be hard to find. I did what Greg instructed me to do to find this place by: going east on Randolph past MD-355 and turn right on Nebel Street (same corner as Tysons Buffet/Gold's Gym strip mall). Turn into the strip mall with Offenbachers, veer left as if to park there and keep driving until you see the sign for GIli's. The Body shop is to the left of their Automotive shop. If you accidentally walk into their automotive shop like I did, they're pretty good at walking you next door where you should be. read more

Did you know that your insurance carrier's list of "pre-approved" body shops is often in cahoots with your insurance carrier to repair your car on the cheap? My sweet Gilda (Volvo S40) had some damage on the right fender that one body shop (I won't name names) estimated about $1300 to repair. I decided to get a second opinion, and after getting an estimate at the insurance-carrier's appraisal office for $1400, took my sweet Gilda to Gili's after reading all the great reviews on Yelp. Gili's made a great impression on me from the start, with Orna's kind and helpful voice on the phone, helping me find their location. The shop manager was also super-helpful, and explained exactly how things would go. Inevitably, the insurance company had low-balled the estimate, and once Gili's took my car apart and saw what the real damage was, they would submit the supplemental request to my insurance. My insurance carrier would have to send an adjuster onsite to verify the additional damage, and then release the additional funds. Turns out there were a number of additional damages that were in need of repair. If I had gone with the first body shop, those things would have been left untouched, since they would have been committed to the first extremely low estimate they had quoted. But since I had taken my car to Gili's, they replaced and repaired everything that had been damaged, bringing the total repair to $2900! Thank goodness I was still only responsible for paying the deductible. The only delay in the repair was caused by my insurance company's slow response in getting an adjuster onsite. Both Orna and Gili himself kept me fully apprised of all progress throughout. Not only does my car look gorgeous and new, I also have the peace of mind that everything was done completely and correctly -- no shortcuts, no snow jobs. Simply the best and most honest service I could have hoped for. Had to get body repairs after and at-fault accident, and Gili personally worked with me to achieve the most affordable option. He repaired an existing door-handle issue free of charge. The office is extremely accommodating, stayed open late so I could drop off my car after work. Gili provided me insurance advice and let me know how the claim process would work. The office staff was beyond helpful, calling with updates and explaining each charge to me so I wouldn't have any surprises. As a finishing touch, they even washed the car before I picked it up. Great Customer Service!! Orna, Eli's wife kept in contact with me through e-mail the entire time with updates, estimates, and new information concerning mechanical issues. Not only do they do autobody work but they have a mechanic shop next door which helps with the quick turnaround. I got into my accident and the tow truck dropped my car off Sunday and I had my car back that Friday! One important thing I really liked is every vehicle is moved into the garages at night to protect from theft/vandalism. Also, I was paying out of pocket and they completely understood that I couldn't pay for everythig all at once....they did give me a large estimate, but let me choose from there what I wanted done at that moment. I had gotten into my very first car accident and damaged my 2003 Toyota Camry pretty badly. I chose Gili's Autobody because of all of the wonderful reviews they received on Yelp. I made the right decision. Brian walked me thru the whole process. He was straightforward, honest and made the whole experience painless. I felt very comfortable and nothing was ever forced on me. He gave me weekly (sometimes daily) updates and made sure every detail was handled. When they put on the replacement parts he saw that it did not look right. Rather than just okaying it and giving me shoddy work, he told his guys to tear it down and redo it. Yes, this delayed me getting my car back by a day, but I'd rather have it done correctly and look proper. I knew right then I would come to Gili's for all my future car work. In November, 2014, I went to a few places to get quotes for my car's body work after a fender bender. I wanted to try somewhere close to home so I looked up auto body shops in the area and decided to also get a quote from Gili's. I called to get directions and it just happened that I was just around the corner, so off I drove. It was 15 minutes before they closed and it was dark. I was greeted so warmly by Orna who did not make me feel as if I were keeping her back from leaving work. She had to struggle to get the pictures and VIN in the dark but she was such a sweet trooper. I have to admit that Orna sold the place by her sweet personality, but this initial positive experience was followed up by the excellent work that the Gili's team did on my car. The whole experience cemented my appreciation for this establishment. They were quick, dropped me off to work the 1st day and picked me up the day that my car was ready. Orna kept me informed of progress as it approached the day that they promised to have the work completed. There were no surprise additional costs and the whole process was so smooth that it eased the pain of the circumstance. I am definitely going to try Gili's also for my regular service, money that I now give to the auto dealership. Thanks Orna and Gili's for being one of the few businesses left to offer such personal and excellent service! Then in February 2015, a truck backed up into my car causing significant damage. I was pretty shook up, but God MUST love Gili's because this happened a few yards from Gilis. Guess where I took my car? Orna worked so hard to get me the best parts, fought with the trucker's insurance to get me After Market parts in some cases in lieu of used, went to her local contacts to get the few used partsfor which she could not get alternatives instead of going all over the country as the Adjuster wrote up. In some cases Orna was even able to get brand new manufacturer's price for the same cost that the Adjuster had listed in his cost breakdown. Thank you Orna and Gili's. I have NOT WORKED WITH AN ORGANIZATION WITH SUCH HIGH ETHICS in a very long time. They took me to work and after the car was ready, they picked me up. When I first brought it in and received an estimate, they made it very clear what needed to be done, and they weren't going to cut any corners. When I took their estimate to my insurance company, they informed me that the estimate I was given was spot on as well. My car was in the shop for a day or two longer than expected, but the communication between myself and shop was comfortable and they kept me in the loop as to what was going on, and even sent pictures too. This shop worked on my new car that got hit by a deer. They noted my concerns from the start and previous sub-par bodywork services that I had tried in the past. I had to come back a couple of times but they ultimately got everything right like it never even happened. Clear coat wouldn't set flat in some places because of near-invisible small rock dents. Gillis gave me a good rate to get it smoothed out to a mirror shine. The real villains here are the insurance companies -- I did have to get additional work done because the insurance company wouldn't pony up for it and told me directly. My beater of a 2000 Sienna took on water and the carpets and floor were soaked and smelly. Brought it to GILI'S and Orna took it right in. Working through my insurance company, the capable techs guided by the experience and sharp mind of the owner, Gili were able to identify the source of the leak as the moonroof drains which were clogged. They stripped out all the carpet, power washed it, disinfected it, mildew proofed and put everything back together. The old van with 153K smells better and looks cleaner than ever. No musty odor, no mildew or mold smell and when they had the insides disassembled, they even installed a new set of rear speakers I had bought because the factory ones were shot. They also fixed the leak and tested it numerous times before putting everything back together. All with a smile and a sincere desire to get it right the first time. I have used them before for more extensive collision work and GILI'S always has come through with excellence. They will also go to bat with the insurance adjuster to get the job done correctly with the best available parts. No easy outs and crummy work. I highly recommend them. I don't post many reviews on Yelp or elsewhere, not only because it takes up time but mainly because I expect to receive good service from businesses, and the service has to be extremely bad or extremely good for me to have enough energy to write a review. Gili's really excels in customer service. I was having trouble dealing with an insurance company that was trying to lowball the estimated cost to repair the damage caused by the vehicle they insured. The damage was bad enough that I was not planning to have my car repaired, but I wanted to make sure I was getting a fair settlement. When I explained this to several other autobody shops, they wanted nothing to do with me. Orna, however, the Office Manager at Gili's, spent about 30 minutes on the phone with me, explaining the process of dealing with insurance companies. She also offered to inspect my vehicle if I brought it out to their facility in Rockville. I made an appointment and went out for the inspection. Orna looked over the car very carefully and then researched the cost of repairing various things that the insurance company had left out. After adding up all the additional items that needed to be fixed, and applying the labor rate that most shops in Rockville charge, Orna identified about $700 in additional costs that I was entitled to be compensated for. She prepared a repair estimate for me, which I submitted to the insurance company. The insurance company then paid the full amount of the repair estimate. I told Orna and Gili's that I wanted to pay them for their time, but they refused the money and said they were glad to help me out. I am very glad I found Gili's, and I will definitely be bringing my new car there if I get a dent that needs repairing! read more

Excellent customer service, great body work, and fast turn-around. Would definitely recommend. We brought our 2010 Toyota Prius in for some front fender/side panel/door work after it was mauled by a WMATA bus (true story). We chose Gili's after some extensive yelp research, and we were not disappointed. From the time we called (multiple) places to get a feel for where to drop our car off, to dropping off our car, to checking on the progress and dealing with the arbitrator and WMATA (not a process to be underestimated), we were well taken care of by the staff at Gili's. Work came out pretty much perfectly, and they stood by their work when I thought I was having a problem related to the accident (I actually wasn't). They really do work for you and are huge advocates for your car and all it needs, even through the initial appraisal from the arbitrator, to adjustments as more damage was found internally. They attempted to repair my vehicle and left me with the front passenger side with a different color paint, which was not applied properly and contained dust and debris trapped within the paint. In my quest for an auto-detail - this shop stuck out from the get-go. Orna was a great first impression! I had called numerous other shops to try and arrange a detail ASAP. I felt like Orna heard me out on what I wanted, picked up on my sense of urgency, and she made it a priority to see when they could accommodate my needs. She was able to arrange a car detail for the next day. I dropped my car off in the am and was fully expecting to walk myself to the metro that was a few blocks away, but she insisted on giving me a ride and even offered to coordinate pickup as well! My car was done by the time I got off work and I couldn't have been more thrilled with the outcome - they did a great job on both the inside & the outside. My car is white, with black interior, it wasn't the messiest but as far as needing maintenance....it was in dire need. They had quoted me a fair price that was competitive in the market, for sure, but when I picked up my car I noticed they took $20 off the total because it wasn't as messy a job as perhaps they were expecting. I obviously knew what I had signed up for, as far as price was concerned, but it felt nice to feel appreciated and not at all taken advantage of! No doubt, they know what they're doing here. They also seem to know how to milk it for every penny. The person who scratched and dented my car in a parking lot actually left a note and we both wanted to settle the matter without insurance company involvement. Every once in a while you make a change, whether it's a new doctor, barber or whatever; this was one of those changes. My last autobody service was solid, but something was missing in the personal touch so, on a friends recommendation I went to Gili's. My first impression was made when the owner himself gave me a tour of the facility and showed me all the high-tech equipment they used. I was introduced to the mechanics one by one and you could tell they were happy where they worked, which said a lot to me as owner of a small business myself. I felt they were honest from the get-go regarding the work that needed to be done in terms of parts and labor; to make matters better, they totally handled my insurance claim, arranged for the adjusted to come to the shop saving me time from having to be there and the turn around time was fantastic. I like to write reviews as you can see on my profile, and for my 4 and 5 star reviews I like to add something that was a little "off", maybe even slightly negative, but as far as Gilis Automotive I am hard-pressed to find something negative to say. Before choosing Gili's Autobody and bring my VW Passat I read reviews. Most of them were very good so that I disregarded the negative ones. However my experience shows that those who warned with a negative review were right. During 2 weeks I was told that they cannot get all parts. Here is the abstract from Orna's letters: "I will check on the parts and let you know, some small ones came in. But looks like for next week... the rest of the parts should be here Wednesday to Thursday, since they were not in inventory.... The Hood, not that I can't get, but I've received 2 times with damage on it, that is why I told you let me get the parts because I know that there is always chances of it coming damaged..... .....you have to trust me and stop comparting estimates from one shop to the other ...... we know what we are doing, so please be patient, If the Hood comes damage another time then I can say I've tried and we need to move forward with another vendor or OEM. Thanks Orna " This was a deliberate lie. After losing 2 weeks I brought the car to a different body shop - there are several nearby- and all was done excellently and fast.
