In the conversation about legendary Chicago style pizza, Giordano's deserves to in included in that conversation. It had been a while since I've had their famous stuffed crust pizza and I had forgotten how special it is. A mountain of cheese envelopes the other ingredients and then second layer of crust is placed on top of the toppings. With all of that cheese, this pizza takes about 40 minutes to cook. While waiting for our pizza to cook we ordered the appetizer sampler (Bruschetta, Boneless Chicken Nuggets, Mozzarella Triangles, and Cheesy Garlic Bread). My favorite were the chicken nuggets and the mozzarella triangles. The samplers hit the spot and kept us satisfied while we waited for the main event. We ordered The Special Deep Dish (sausage, mushrooms, green peppers & onions). It tasted phenomenal. The servers were very nice and accommodating. I look forward to coming back more often for more stuffed pizzas!

Piss poor service and rude drivers and person one phone kept saying can you repeat that. Like dude how about you open your ears. He was either be a dum****s or just didn't care I'm i am handicapped and pizz should brought to your door not go outside. If I wanted that then I would have ordered uber eats and then also uber eats would know how to hand my pizza to me. On top she was super rude driver as if she didn't want to do the delivery. All she hd to wait for 5 minutes it's not like I am waiting outside for 65-75 mins for them to deliver. And I said i will tip cash my gift didn't have the amount to cover everything. I have a $15 cash but with that service she got nothing. I definitely won't be going back to this location nor place and orders from this location. Schaumburg is it. I was live on twitch.tv....now my viewers also know what happened and I won't recommend this location to anyone.

I have not been to Giordano's for many years. Every time, we went with some of our family members from out of town, who are very fond of Chicago deep dish pizzas. I did not know that this restaurant is indeed quite touristy. Last Wednesday evening, our group of 10 went to Giordano's, my hubby and I followed a shuttle bus in their parking lot (BTW, beware of pot holes in the parking lot), it was from a local hotel that dropped off around 30 tourists to the restaurant! These group of customers sat along the tables that were semi-booths along the wall, where we usually were seated. We sat right next to them at the long table put together by several tables. So, it can get busy even on a weeknight! We made the right move by ordering our deep dish pizzas ahead of time, since it took them 45 minutes to make! We pre-ordered 2 large and 1 medium deep dish pizzas, namely Meat & More Meat, Chicago Classic, and Make Your Own with sausage and pepperoni. At the restaurant, some of us also ordered Greek Salads and a House Salad, an order of Fried Mozzarella Triangles, and a Fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken and Broccoli (fettuccine was a big portion). There were so many leftovers! I am not a big eater, and could hardly finish one slice of the Chicago Classic deep dish pizza, which did not have too many ingredients in it. I only saw a couple of small mushroom slices in my slice. There was only one thin slice of pepperoni in my hubby's slice, and one of my sisters' slice was basically all cheese as well! Maybe we had taken too long for everyone to take photos, my slice of pizza was only lukewarm. So, I have no idea if the pizza came out lukewarm or not. Hubby's Greek Salad was fresh enough to meet his standard. The Sprite that I ordered was rather tasteless and did not taste like Sprite at all. Hubby and I feel that the food was just average. However, service was surprisingly good! A shout out to our server, Emma, who was very pleasant and attentive. She was very patient and happy when she helped us take a group photo. She even made a headcount on the cell phone photo to make sure that everyone was in it! The restaurant closes at 9:00 PM on Wednesdays, the group of tourists were picked up at 9:15 PM by their shuttle bus, we left right after them. There were still several other tables there. We had a good family gathering there.

I noticed a portrait on the wall next to the stand and inquired who it was. Her name was Sara Rowe, and it's a loving memorial to a long time Melman partner. Melman combined her first name, Sara, with a classic Italian suffix to create the name "Saranello's". It's an upscale restaurant with upscale food. But at a mid-scale price point, Thanks for that! The food: I had the baked eggplant parm, since I'm from Chicago. You know what I mean if you're local. And it's my new benchmark. Well done! The wife had the braised short rib ravioli. It's now her desert island dish. It's a very very nice space. And our server knew the menu backwards and forwards. Anyone who's had the grated "parmesan" in the green can will appreciate the genuine Parmiggiano Reggiano they serve here. Freshly grated with no cellulose, and that beautiful tang! With homemade tiramisu for dessert, and a glass of wine, the tab was about $75, but you get what you pay for, and you'll get what you're paying for here!

The first tricky part is finding the entrance because it's not really obvious as expected in long grove There's no real signs. Further, the next tricky piece is finding parking if you can get it on the street or find it in the lot now luckily both are free. Once I managed to find a door to the place, it turned out to be the back door and so I had to climb up a bunch of stairs in order to get to the front part of the restaurant to actually check in for the reservation. And yes, please make a reservation. This place does get packed even for early times. The service was really friendly and very nice however, I will say overall the food was OK but nothing really standoffish. For example, if you look at the pictures of the food quite bluntly it just looks like they slapped food onto a plate. There's really no thought that's been put into the presentation. There's really been no thought also to just the pure amounts of cheese and sauce that are also creating a swimming pool on the plate. We ordered the grilled octopus for appetizer and even that was swimming in olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette and too much of everything I think the food is OK but nothing fantastic. Considering the overly saturated Chicagoland market of Italian restaurants I wouldn't necessarily say this was at the top of my list.

The selection of meats and cheeses and were very nice, but the prices seemed steep. The cheeses and meats were as follows: Wooley Rind (Green Dirt Farm) - soft ripened sheep's milk MontAmore (Sartori) - semi firm Italian style Cheddar Goat Gouda (Central Coast Creamery) - crumbly aged goat cheese "Creamy Sexy Blue" - German triple cream cow's milk with blue veining Jamon Serrano, aged 24 months Stagberry - Elk Salami with dried blueberries Finocchiona - Tuscan style salami with fennel seed Pig & Fig Terrine - Country style pork pate with dried figs, cinnamon, ginger All were very good and had a lovely flavor. Due to the number of people nibbling, I asked for extra bread and was treated with toasted sourdough, which was very nice. For dinner, I got the Chicken Tinga Panini (Tomato-Chipotle Chicken, Queso Oaxaca, Arugula, served with Salsa Verde & Guacamole). This was a very good sandwich. I loved the idea of Chicken Tinga in a sandwich format, and it worked. I had saved half of it to take home to have for breakfast the next day, but got wrapped up in good-byes and walked out and left it. Man I was mad! My manager ordered the Roasted Beets (with whipped Feta cheese, toasted pistachios, red onion, dill and a red wine vinaigrette). The serving was huge! She loves beets and said that the dish was very good A few people got the Broccoli Cheddar soup and said it was very good. I wanted to try the oysters as I love East Coast ones, but at $20 for 6, couldn't wrap my mind around that. The wine list was pretty good and on this particular night, we got bottles for a crazy low price. My manager got a bottle of red (can't remember the name) that was $75, but she got it for half price. Same for me for a lovely bottle of sparkling rose. The hostess had a list of wines on her tablet that she showed us as well that were 50% off. The location is quite a drive from Chicago, but the times I have to go to Lake Zurich for team meetings, I may just stop in to camp out for eats and drinks while waiting for my Uber and rush hour traffic to die out.

While waiting for my personal pizza, I looked over and saw a rotating display full of fresh slices -- sausage, specialty pizzas, etc. I ended up grabbing an Italian beef slice with sweet and hot peppers after another customer told me it was really good. Threw in an RC Cola and a side of ranch too. Total came out to around $16. Got back to work and started with the Italian beef slice. It was cold, which I won't knock too hard because who knows how long it had been sitting there. I was told it was spicy, but honestly not really. You could tell by the way the slice fell apart while eating it that it had probably been sitting for a bit. As for the personal pizza, it was cheesy, decent amount of pepperoni, and not overloaded with sauce, which I liked. But overall... it just lacked flavor. I can't fully put my finger on it, but it feels like it's missing something. Maybe seasoning? Salt? Not sure. That said, service was good, prices weren't terrible, and I do like the concept. As for the veggie basket, I was a little disappointed at the amount we received. I expected more pieces but I guess it was ok so we can save room for the main dish. As for the stuffed pizza, it was not cut in perfect triangles and the crust at the cuts were smushed (it seemed like they need to sharpen their pizza cutter or they were training a new hire. Overall, if you want good stuffed pizza , give them a try. I certainly will place an order again (hoping the pizza is cut like it is supposed to). If not, I'll certainly take a picture and send it over. I'll give it a 3 star rating today due to the cut of the pizza as the slices were not even and crust was crushed.
