Okay, so Giordano's you're an oldie but definitely a goodie. My family has been going here for years, in fact my 15th bday party was here way back when :) I have to say though at the time, I would only like your thin crust pizza since deep dish literally wasn't my thing back then. However, when my mom would come visit you guys for lunch back in the day, she would always bring me a piece home to munch on. As I grew up and I'd like to think I'm finally close to becoming a real adult, my love and appreciation for Chicago deep dish style pizza has grown. I do have to say I've been to Lou Malnatis, Pequods and Giordano's and Giordano's ranks #2 favorite for me, which isn't bad I must say! Pequods truly does have my heart and is my #1 spot. Here are some of my thoughts regarding Giordano's and why I seem to like it: 1. It is really close to home, so the convenience factor truly plays a roll. 2. I love the cozy, casual atmosphere making it great for a date night or a fun night out with the whole family. Love their checkered red/white table clothes. 3. The gooey cheese is everywhere for the deep dish and it makes for a very tasty experience, however eating it there is always much better than bringing it home. 4. The prices are very decent and fair and one large is enough to feed my family. 5. The people working there are always super friendly or at least the last few times that we have been. 6. It does take a little while to get your pizza so come at least 40 minutes earlier especially for the deep dish. Overall, I will continue to go to Giordano's for the closeness factor for me and it really is tasty, the crust is crunchy and the cheese is super gooey, just the way I like it. What I would like more out of it, is if it was a tad on the spicier side since I definitely like my kick factor in everything I eat. Definitely a fan! read more

I've been to four or five different Giordano's locations, and this is another good one. It's medium sized, with lots of tables and booths. Service is friendly. We were seated immediately. Food wise, yes, this deep dish is fabulous. The crust is a bit flakier and pie-like when compared to Lou Malnati's. The crust is also taller than Lou's, and the while pie is a bit thicker. I think Giordano's does cheese best of any deep dish I've tried. Their sauce is also excellent, and is more of a purée on top, versus the chunky, stewed tomatoes Lou likes. It's just an overall great meal. Do it. read more

Our first time here and the pizza was great! It's really a deep dish pizza ! We ordered a small pizza for a family of four and we only ate one slice each. I absolutely adore the Giordanos in Lake Zurich - which is what drives me to order from the one here in B.G., close to my home. The problem is, the couple of times I have ordered from here it just doesn't quite live up to that expectation. There's always something: once it was just way to saucy, another time it had all the nasty oven crumbs stuck to the bottom of the pizza. And here's the problem: they are CRAZY EXPENSIVE for one pizza! It's like $22 for ONE Large thin-crust , single topping, pizza - which is just nuts. That is even more expensive than Lou Malnati's, which is more food!! The average thin-crust, one topping pizza around town is like $16-17 tops, so I don't quite understand where they get off charging so much more money. It aint right. Location: they're in a great location in terms of proximity to ME.... but the ambiance is really lacking. It's not a "comfy" restaurant where I'd bring my family to go have dinner. It just doesn't have that restaurant feel. It doesn't make you want to sit there and enjoy a long meal. The good: The kids at the register have always been friendly. I love their packaging - they've got fabulous sandwhich boxes to protect your food! The bottom line is that I will still occasionally order from here because they have one thing that brings me back: their pizzas can be really cheesy, and it's that thick, gooey, yummy cheese that is like CRACK to me. So good. But my orders will be few and far between, because it's just too darned expensive for what it is. I will continue to order from either Rosati's, Ninos, or Joe's for thin crust, where I the value is greater. If Giordanos wants to lower their prices, I'd be ordering a lot more, and I bet others would too. read more

Our group of 5 gathered at Giordano's to split 2 large pizzas and beer. We ordered two large stuffed pizzas, one with sausage, mushrooms and onions, and the other vegetarian. Before the order my brother-in-law told we would not finish the order. I though it would be easy to finish, but he was correct and in the end and we had take home boxes for breakfast the next day. Though I usually prefer no meat on my pizza, I would say the sausage version was the tastier choice. I would rate the sauce on our pizzas as very good, but the crust was exceptionally delicious and for that reason I now find it my favorite pizza when we visit Chicago. Special note to our server, Yordanka, who cheerfully took our order, kept our drinks flowing, and accommodated our request for some group pictures. I highly recommend this restaurant as it has everything you would want in pizza with comfortable seating and easy parking. Absolutely love the stuffed pizza. Staff is very friendly. Before kids, we used to come here once a week. After kids, we order for pickup from here about three times per month. Even the thin is great although it's not really thin. If you go with young kids, preorder. They are fast, but deep dish pizza takes a loong time to bake. When we preorder, we have our pizza within 5 minutes of telling them. Crazy fast. The have a bunch of LCD TVs now which are good for a distraction. read more

The thing I love about Giordano's is the quality of ingredients. I am absolutely willing to pay a little more for great quality. The deep dish spinach and canadian bacon pizza is my go to dish. But we also love the soups, salads, pastas and desserts. I have come with friends, family and guests. Not a bad meal ever. This was our go-to place for the holidays. But we go there at least once a month. If you take home leftover pizza ask for a small cup of the sauce. Reheat it with the pizza for a perfect reheat. read more

Brought 20 teenagers in tonight for a birthday party... The manager Jacob couldn't have been more accommodating and helpful. We called ahead and pre-ordered to make it easier on everyone. Our server, Jason, kept our sodas and waters filled and was helpful in every way. Can't say enough great things about this location, the people here, and of course the great food!! Just left the restaurant after a fun night of bowling just across the way. Our meal at Giordano's tonight was sub par, to say the least. We had the choice of chicken Parmesan as an individual meal or as a family meal which was twice the price. Since the four of us were all getting chicken Parmesan, we decided to go for two family meals. Not only were there only three pieces of chicken, but the pasta arrived Stone cold. They offered to reheat it in the microwave, which made it only slightly more palatable. Needless to say, we will be finding another place to eat after bowling in the future. read more

I'd give a 0 star if I could. My experience with the Buffalo Grove store had always been good however, Tonight my delivery was 1/2 wrong. After calling 4 times I finally got the Assistant Manager who seemed inconvenienced by my call because she was very busy. She told me to take a picture of the wrong pizza and email it. 3 hours later and we'll past dinner, the General Manager, George calls. George offered no apology and then argued with me that the pizza was correct. I asked for a refund and he said the best he could do was a $15.00 store credit. Shame on you Giordano's, you had the perfect opportunity to make this right but your arrogance and your need to be right at my expense, ended up costing you a loyal customer tonight. My boyfriend and I LOVE Giordano's pizza. We order from them all the time. I've been meaning to write a review about this location but never got the chance. We decided to host a Super Bowl party this year at our house. I tried calling the restaurant to place my order but because they were so busy I couldn't get through. So I decided to order online. I ordered three large thin crust pizzas and five orders of the ranch dry rub wings (which are THE BEST) ! When the delivery man came with the food we only got three pizzas but no wings. I asked the delivery driver where is the rest of my order and he told me oh I'm sorry we ran out of wings. I was out raged. They did charge me the appropriate amount however I did not receive a phone call that half my order will not be arriving at my house. I was furious because I didn't have enough food to feed my guests. I tried to call the restaurant but because they were so busy the line would ring out. The next day I called and asked to speak with the manager(Big George). First of all I have to say that this man is one of the nicest people I've ever spoken to in the restaurant industry and his customer service is on point. When he asked me why he can help me with, I explain to him what happened and why I was very upset. He did not interrupt me once, he listen to everything I had to say and very nicely apologize profusely. He told me he was actually the one who update on my order and because the restaurant was so busy he completely forgot to call me and that is on him. It's so rare for management to own up to their mistakes. I was truly taken back. He asked me what he can do to make it up to me and I told him next time I order just give me a free pizza. He said I'll do you one better he took down what we typically order and pretty much told me he will cover my entire bill next time I call. The restaurant dining room is not open for dine-in but they delivered to Deerfield from Buffalo Grove! One hour wait was expected and they were pretty close to the estimated time. Great location in the middle of the suburbs! Lots of parking; nice old Italian style decor. Our waitress was attentive, accommodating, & friendly. Televisions for those looking for a nice game night local (not sure if volume is ever turned up). Old classics blast across the speakers; which I enjoyed! A small pizza was enough to feed 4 or maybe 6; depending how much the group eats. Very filling; I only got through one slice! My partner made it through two by removing the crust! I can literally walk from my house to this location...not that I have ever..but just saying. The pizza is really good, almost as good as Lou Malnatis but it 'aint. I don't remember the exact reason why we chose Giordano's over Lou's considering Lou's is just down the road from this location...in any event we were here on a cold winter's day. The ambience is rather nice, walls are covered in Chicago pictures etc. Besides pizzas ( deep dish and thin crust) they have a lot of Italian enterees. I particularly liked the Spinach Artichoke dip. We ordered a Spinach and Sausage deep dish, it was ok. I can't help comparing it to Lou Malnatis. It comes a distant second to Lou's. Would I go here again...ummm maybe if going to Lou's was out of the question. read more

While I really only frequent deep dish places when out-of-towners are in town, this recent visit has further convinced me that I am just not a fan of deep dish (and yes, I grew up here). If you must eat deep dish, however, I would recommend Lou Malnati's. It's something in their crust and their sauce. If you're a thin crust person, DON'T get Giordano's thin crust. It really is more crust and less sauce than anything, so all in all not a good version of thin crust. read more

When I lived in Chicago in the '90s we ate Giordano's a lot, and I had it almost every time I've come back to visit, but I never ate in this location and it did not live up to my recollections. Service was fairly fast and friendly and the restaurant was clean and inviting and we were able to get a table for 9 with no wait, but the food was sort of flavorless. We ordered a Caesar salad with sort of bitter lettuce. The cheese looked good but didn't have much flavor, and same for the croutons. The dressing was unappetizing. I didn't try the other salad but it looked OK. We also ordered some fried cheese; the breading was very crunchy but the cheese was flavorless. There were some fried ravioli but my nephew refused to share. The pizzas came out in good time: one thin crust and one Chicago style. They were both hugely disappointing. The same tasteless cheese, hardly any sauce, and the crust completely bland and bread-y on both. It doesn't seem to be the pizza I remember. read more

We are from Arizona and came to see our Sailor graduate boot camp. Everyone suggested Giordano's for Chicago style pizza. This locations was closest to us and we are so glad we came. I usually love Giordano's pizza, but i wasn't happy with my experience at this location. When we got our pizza, it was cold and under cooked. We should have sent it back, but we were soo hungry after the extra long wait it just wasn't an option. If you like Giordano's I would suggest the Evanston or Wrigleyville locations. While I'm personally a Lou Malnati's girl, Giordano's is still a little slice of heaven compared to the crap they serve on the East coast and call "pizza." Large stuffed tropic delight = delish! Called in an order for a memorial lunch, and picked up for carry out. The order process, online, was decent. My wife was able to place an order, including using a discount, on a tablet with only a little fudging around to figure things out. One you've gone through the process once, this seems to be a great way to see the pizza / ingredient options and place an order. I came at the early end of the pickup window, and the four pizzas were ready to go at the early end of that time. We ordered both deep dish and thin crust, and all came out hot. The crew was helpful and upbeat, and made my few minutes there go quickly while they tended other customers and orders. It seemed like an efficient place. The flavors were great! We had just over 20 people for lunch, and everyone loved the pizzas - especially those from Chicago who have moved out of state and miss Giordano's.
