I came to Giordano's with a serious pizza craving! When I crave pizza it is typically thoughts of cheese and a thick crust! Since a deep dish takes a while to make we ordered some starters. The bruschetta had a thick layer of mozzarella topped with tomatoes. It was refreshing to see cheese on them . We also had the cheesy garlic bread it was delicious and good enough for two people. Warning: You may be full when the pizza comes out. The starters were filling so when the pizza came out I had one piece. The peices are big though but so worth it! Tons of cheese and the perfect amount of Italian sausage. When you lift the pizza from the pan ...the cheese stretches with it. The service is friendly and the atmosphere is fun! Filthy! There were about over 6 tables that were not cleaned when we walked in. Our server was amazing though. He was working hard and the server working the early shift stayed and helped him. There was a server that came in later in the afternoon who was bald with glasses and he was not a team player. When there was a spill on the floor, he walked past it several times but when our server Anthony cleaned it he said thanks which means he saw the spill the entire time. Lazy and only concerned about self. Didn't see a manager the entire time. Shame on the manager for not doing their job. Kudos to Anthony!! read more

The Deep Dish Chicago Style pizza is amazing! Cheese melts in your mouth, the tomato sauce is very tasty and not overwhelming, defiantly with the drive from Salt Lake City Utah, for me and my hubby second time in one week lol and my parents, grandma and little sister first time, my dad doesn't normally like pizza but this one he loved, he would definitely eat it again, we hope in the future one comes to Salt Lake City. We had a birthday dinner for my son last night. The food was fine and the service was fine but I'm only giving three stars because the server charged me a 20% tip for a party of eight of which one was a baby that was not eating. Since when would you charge a 20% tip on the bill for seven people dining and not say anything about it? I could not see the bill clearly so I added an additional 21% tip on top of the total bill. The sever should have advised me that the gratuity was included. She got a 41% tip for her service and I'm really angry that she lacked transparency on the bill. Her service was only average as it was. Who ever heard of charging a gratuity on the bill and not advising the person paying when it is only a party of seven people having dinner. The receipt included a place to add a tip and the signature of the person paying. I will probably never go back just on principal. That server ended up with an $86.00 tip because I gave $50 on a $240 bill but when I got home, I saw she charged me $36.00 for a tip without my knowledge. Poor business ethics. read more

The food is great! Deep dish pizza is thick and cheesy, Buffalo wings were tangy and not too spicy. We waited a while before we were greeted and seated but they are definitely short staffed, you can't blame them when no one wants to work. Got a medium Chicago pie for my family of 4. It's super filling that we could not even finish it! The amount of cheese they put in it is no joke and the crust is amazing! I've been to Giordano's a few times in Chicago and the pizza is good. Same thing here. Good pizza, good selection of beers on tap. The problem is that we came to watch the Golden Knights game which is on the TVs and the sound is off so you can't hear what's on the TV. I asked the waiter why and he said the restaurant owner would have to pay extra to broadcast the games and doesn't do that so they don't play the audio. Well, that pretty much sucks. You got a multi-million dollar business and you can't afford to pay for the local teams broadcast? Obviously, we will just go to one of the 100+ restaurants that does broadcast the game next time. Try it! I know deep dish pizza doesn't always reign over thin crust but this one does. The cheese just oozes out. I wanna say layers of cheese and you can still taste the meats. Mmm. I had to go on a no carb diet after this one! We got a thin crust with white sauce, chicken and pesto. We added a small deep dish pepperoni, sausage and mushroom- that can feed 3 people heavily! We were so full we had leftovers. Great pizza the next day too! The pie crust was cooked perfectly crispy like an oven pot pie! Calamari was good and we added a pitcher of Sangria that could make 6 wine glasses. Did not have any room for dessert but will definitely be back for happy hour! The last time I had Giordano's, I was in Chicago home of the original. While on vacation in Vegas with the family we broke tradition and had pizza on Wednesday instead of our usual pizza Friday's, and it was well worth it. We had a Chicago style pie and a hand tossed flat pizza. Not that the pizza lacked in flavor on the day of, but I think the pie was actually better tasting the next day after reheat. Today I was craving deep dish style pizza. Looked up this place and figured why not! I've had deep dish from other places and have been very disappointed. But this place... exceeded my expectations. The crust was perfect. I was looking for a pie I needed a fork and knife to eat, and this was just that! Other places struggle with greasy pie's. But I got the meats deep dish, and it was hardly greasy! I love this place and I will go back for sure!!! read more

This place is a joke with poor management. I went there with my family of four. Sat down ordered drinks, appetizer and the large deep dish. The menu said it would take 35-45 minutes for the pizza. Everything was fine until the sampler platter came out. Everything was dry. The cheese triangles had been deep fried so long that the cheese was no longer inside. The bread for the bruschetta was so hard we couldn't break them in half. The chicken wings were ok. Here is where it starts to really go down hill. About an hour of waiting the waitress comes over and tells us their oven was broken but hopefully they got our pizza in there before it was broken. She was going to find out and let us know. 30 minutes later still no sign of her. We did however see people complaining about their pizza not being cooked to whom I can only assume is the manager. 45 mins have passed, still no waitress but the kitchen chef comes to us tell us our pizza did not get made and he didn't know how long it would take to get the oven fixed. I tell him that's fine would have been nice to know 45 minutes ago. We don't want to wait. Keep in mind that 3 other tables around us have already spoken to the manager and left without paying plus received a complimentary free pizza for their next return. As we get up to leave the waitress brings us our bill, I ask her really? I pay, we leave, never to return! read more

Oh my! What an experience! I'm a pizza enthusiast and never had tried real Chicago Style pizza. Btw, pan pizza doesn't count. The experience was amazing, the flavors were perfect and by far Giordano's has the best tasting pizza sause I have ever had! If you are craving that deep-dish pizza with the signature cheese pull, look no further - just so you know, their deep-dish always takes 45 minutes, so enjoy a side or a drink. All the sides are great too! I've enjoyed the house salad, the sampler, the calamari - all great! Let me focus in the service though as food is one thing, service is just as important - and this location does not disappoint! Stephanie (Steph), Desi (Desiree), and Roman really make you feel at home and are super attentive! I've gone there solo, and with my daughters, and they agree as well! Sure you'll have a main server (and hopefully one of them =) ), but they've worked together as a team so that you don't feel like your forgotten. On one of my solo visits, Steph, my main server, super warm from the get go, took her time in helping me with making my selections, getting me my salad the way I liked it, serving me my first slice, and making sure my iced tea was virtually bottomless, not missing my need for a refill throughout - she even boxed my leftover, and packed me an iced tea refill to go! On my latest visit with my daughters, Desi, was our main server, just as warm and friendly as Steph... but get this, Steph recognized me (even with the masks) and helped out Desi by getting my salad out to me and she, Desi, as well as Roman made sure our drinks were bottomless again! Roman helped with our first slices, Desi made sure to ask and got our other sides, boxed our leftovers, and even offered refills on our drinks to go! Have seen this place passing by to go to Target for many months now. Decided to try it with my boys, we perused the menu to decide on thin crust vs deep dish, salad vs appetizer....many choices. We decided on the sampler appetizer with just that a sampling of mozzarella triangles (3), bruschetta served in a bowl with the toasted bread and fresh mozzarella on the side (4), 4 pieces of cheesy garlic bread and a handful of chicken nugget like pieces. All of which was served with a few sauces ranch, buffalo, BBQ and marinara. This wasn't bad as it held us over til the pizza came. We ordered a create your own with meatball, pepperoni and sausage. (It's at the top of the menu that it takes 25-30 min; and yes it did.). When it finally arrived to the table it looked delicious. We served each other a slice each and we enjoyed the flavor. What we didn't enjoy was the temperature of the pizza. For something that takes 25-35 min to cook it should be piping hot. The temperature inside was as if it was sitting for a bit or as if it didn't reach temp. Unsure, either way we ate most of the pizza and took a slice home. Chicago pie is good. Horrible experience. Came in - only customer. This should have been a sign to leave :( Soup and salad were very good. ---- they got something right Then, the lunch specials - a meatball sub and chicken parm sandwich. It would have been nice to know the meatball sub was not full size (3 meatballs) - but not a big deal, since the only part that was edible was the meatballs and sauce. The bread was HORRIBLE! The restaurant says they get it from a third-party bakery ... OK, but it was mushy and tasted like a bad $1 packaged hot dog roll! It might have been toasted for a few seconds, but not enough to take away the mushiness. Then, the chicken parm. This is a "premium" item that has a $1 service fee for ... waitress said it was very good. OK ... sure, why not. The only good part on this was the bread. The chicken itself was mushy and obviously improperly defrosted frozen chicken. I told the waitress about the chicken - as it did not taste right, and seemed bad - as in not safe to eat. She took it away and brought back the check saying she took it off ... ummmm, did you tell a manager? As the place was EMPTY (except for one table) and I saw the manager walking around. She said "yes, he is on the phone with a supplier" ... I look over and see two managers in the restaurant - neither looked too busy to come see a customer who just had a food safety concern. Then, the manager came over - holding a clipboard - and said "hi, I hear you wanted to speak with me" ... Yes, did the waitress let you know what was going on. "No, I just got here," ... OK, so you did not see the food we sent back. Interesting. He showed me the clipboard and said he was just checking the restaurant with a pre-shift checklist and he would address our concerns. Oh, and did she take it off your bill. Oh, and "they toast the rolls and the chicken is previously frozen". Yeah, here is the money for the rest of our "food" (which was on the table and mostly not eaten) ... zero concern for our health, zero concern to look in to what was going on ... and zero interest in asking us to come back and try again. Taking off the item that was not cooked properly and made of poor product is not the answer to good customer service. Also, curious why a large restaurant like this - that offers a "premium" chicken sandwich and does some decent volume is using a frozen chicken? If they want to use this poor quality, maybe hammer the chicken down - this would make it less chewy and not taste as frozen. Just my thoughts. read more

Just ate here and was completely blown away. The food alone was outstanding. Best cheesy garlic bread I have ever had, and the traditional Chicago Deep Dish stacks up equally to the original. We had Roman as our cullinary guide, and his knowledge and service was exceptional. Friendly smile and banter, very attentive, and most accomodating. Would reccomend to ANYONE, to make this location a MUST visit when in town. read more
