Pizza is our Friday night go to and is a great choice in Chicagoland. We ordered our pizzas while waiting for a table, knowing how long it takes for a deep dish. When we got seated I checked with the server, she said it would be out in 15minutes. An hour later, the manager stops by and tells us our pizza went to another table. They still hadn't brought our thin crust either- which I had to ask for. Asked if we wanted to order deep dish, on the house. No, not waiting another 45. This is the only Giordanos in Oswego. The restaurant is a pretty good size. The decorations were really nice. I love the stuffed pizza and the thin crust pizza. The reason why I'm giving this location only one star is because of our waiter. Before I even said what I wanted to order, I clarified with the waiter if I can order a stuffed pizza with one half cheese and the other half special (which is sausage, mushrooms, green peppers and onions). He said yes and that we can order half and half for the stuffed pizza. So I placed my order and we waited about 40 minutes before we got our food. When they gave me my pizza, it wasn't a stuffed pizza like I had requested. It was a thin crust pizza. I never said anything about a thin crust pizza! I was really disappointed when I got the wrong pizza. I know I mentioned earlier in this review that the thin crust pizza was good, but still. It's really disappointed when a waiter can't even take down your order properly, especially when he said that I can order half and half for a stuffed pizza. Despite all of this, my parents were able to give me a slice of their stuffed pizza. By the way, this was the first time I have ever gone to a Giordanos. Never expected my first experience to be disappointing. Good service goes a long way for me when I go to a restaurant. I know I definitely won't be coming back to this location ever again. read more

Okay, it was Xmas eve and they were closing in 90 minutes but they did offer to seat us along with a half dozen other parties. After ordering a salad to hold us over the 45 minutes it takes to make a pizza, we settled down to wait. No problem so far. Our pizza order however was the opposite. We ordered a simple medium deep dish cheese with LIGHT garlic. Now, any other restaurant we have ever been to understood what light meant. Unfortunately, this one didn't seem to get the concept and added what appeared to be a full clove, crushed, on each slice. It was so obvious that we could see and smell it as soon as it hit the table. First bite, was the only bite either of us were able to manage. Yes, they removed it from the bill but by that time it was 8pm and they were officially closing so we couldn't order anything else. We ended up going home and having sandwiches. read more

Valentine's Day 2018 = massive heart shaped pizza failure. For those of you who also thought it'd be a great dinner idea that evening I'm sure you can relate to the frustration I and scores of others succumbed to. We placed an order that day several hours prior to pickup, only to arrive at my pickup time and wait approximately 45 minutes beyond. And to add insult to injury they finally called my name, handed over the goods, and when I sat down in my car I glanced at the receipt. Not my pizza. I considered just driving away but the intended recipient ordered a nasty combination of toppings making it nearly inedible. So back in I went. I contemplated hanging that pizza on the wall, but I elected to wait another 15 minutes. Needless to say, many many many hangry people that night. Good pizza place - I like their cheese pizza. There isn't an overload of red sauce, which is great. Their caesar salad is also pretty good. One thing is though are their cheesy breadsticks. They were a bit spicy, which I wasn't expecting and so they didn't taste very good. Overall though, Giordano's is a great pizza place to go to. read more

I've had Giordanos at other locations and it was so good. I went to this location and the pizza was not very good. I was a little embarrassed because we brought friends and talked about how good the pizza was. The crust was separating from the cheese. It seemed like it was not cooked all the way. Also my kids ordered chicken tenders and those were disgusting. They tasted like chicken that wasn't real and the breading was bad. I'm not willing to risk another bad experience. I won't go back. There are too many other pizza places to risk spending money on pizza that is not good. read more

This is THE pizza place in Oswego, in my view. They do a very nice job on their stuffed version. I've had several the past few years and I especially like their stuffed spinach pizza. Their thin crust is pretty good too although it doesn't get near the press. Try it sometime, too. Service can be spotty at times depending on your server. Most are usually pleasant though one kind of rubs us the wrong way. Service may also see slow but that is due to the 45+ minutes it takes to cook a stuff pizza so allow extra time for that if you're ordering it. I might add however, Giordano's is probably the slowest pizza delivery in town, if you're having it delivered to you home. No real qualms but in the end, it is pizza so I'll reserve the four and five stars for finer restaurants but make no mistake, Giordano's makes a very good pizza that rivals the old originals in downtown Chicago.... without the hour drive and parking hassles. read more

I have been eating Giordano's food for over 20 years and will continue to do so because it's quality. I have placed carryout orders from this location twice and both times, I have had to wait at least 30-45 minutes longer than the time I was told when placing the order. Also, both times while I was waiting, the counter girl asked me repeatedly what I ordered. This review has everything to do with the service and not the food. Yesterday my daughter graduated and she decided she wanted pizza. We chose both Lous and Giordano's. We grabbed the food (appetizers and salads) first from Lou's who was prompt and on time with their service. The people were friendly and got us out efficiently. We went two doors down to Giordanos where we had a 4:10 pickup. There was only one other car so they were not busy. The employee came out letting us know that it would be about 10 more minutes.....no apologies just it is what it is. We didn't wait 10 minutes......but 20. When the food was brought to our car again no apologies.....nothing. Look I ordered for 4:10 and understand being a few minutes behind. However we had other food in our car and prompt service is what I was hoping for. Not to mention the employees just seemed so miserable. Unfortunately the apps were no longer warm by the time we got them home. The giordanos pizza was however and it was good.....good food/bad service. read more

It has been several years since I have visited this location, but came for a visit recently with family who are from out of town looking for some quality Chicago style pizza. While the pizza was very good, the service was very lackluster and left something to be desired. When we entered the building, there was a hostess at the station, but we were never greeted by her. I was the one who initiated a friendly hello to her! When I told her how many were in our party, (11) she told me it would be a few minutes, which of course, was fine, but I don't think she ever smiled! Our server, who was very sweet, clearly lacked guidance/training. We waited so long for her to arrive to take our drink order, we had already decided our entire order, which she took at that time. Someone in our party ordered a cup of coffee, and was informed that a fresh pot was brewing, and would be up shortly. I believe at least 15 minutes passed before the coffee arrived. Luckily, the coffee was very good! One of the little guys at the table accidentally spilled his drink. We scrambled to gather the napkins at the table to clean it up. The wet pile of napkins sat nearly 30 minutes before she cleared the mess away. Our server would take drink refill orders one at a time, meaning she would ask one of us if we would like a refill, then walk off before asking if anyone else would like one too. One of the children ordered a sandwich. It was brought up with the appetizers, which I thought was strange, as we didn't ask her to do so. He was finished with his sandwich before our pizzas arrived. Empty glasses and plates from our appetizers began to pile up. We began to stack and organize them ourselves. The pizzas finally arrived, but we had to ask for clean plates. Maybe this review sounds petty, but with the amount of money we spent, I believe that we deserved better service. Believe it or not, I was in the service industry many years myself. I understand that it is a difficult, thankless job. Most servers work very hard for their money, and many customers don't understand what is going on back in the kitchen and how it affects your dinner. I have had more than my fair share of customers speak to me like I was their servant, then stiff me. But I always smiled, worked hard, and on a busy night, ran my ass off. My experience with a lot of these chain restaurants is the servers think if they just show up, they deserve 20% gratuity for doing the absolute bare minimum amount of work. (Not saying I got this vibe from our server, just a generalized statement.) Why do I write this review, then? To bring attention to THE MANAGERS of this facility that it is their responsibility to make certain that they have fully trained, competent staff. It wasn't the hostesses fault she didn't welcome us in, or the servers fault she didn't keep our table clear of dirty dishes. It is the fault of management. I know I am not the only one who feels this way based on other reviews. By the way, this is the first review I have ever written about a restaurant on any site. First off, I am no deep dish pizza aficionado but I do know a good deep dish from a bad deep dish. And when a place tells you it's going to take an hour to make a deep dish pizza then you know your gonna get good quality for a good price. Now I have been to this place three times within the last five years and never had a problem with the first two times up until about a week ago. My wife and I ordered a medium "meat and more meat" deep dish and we were told it would take about an hour to make. About half an hour later our deep dish comes out. As we were taking our first slice it seemed like somebody rollled out a piece of dough to literally make the bottom of the deep dish to a paper thin crust but with a thick deep dish crust pizza along the edge. So some parts of the crust were cooked and some parts were not completely cooked. But I will give the wait staff a five star review. read more

When I took a slice from the box at home, I was disappointed that it was a thin crust pizza with the 'STANDUP" edge of a stuffed pizza with extremely thick tomato topping with skimpy cheese and sausage. Having ordered take-out and dine-in Giordano's of Oswego is true Chicago style pizza in the suburbs. The staff is great, the location is clean and tidy and the food is just what I expected, great. A bit pricier than the major chains, the quality of the food is much higher than those places. And if you've been to a Giordano's before, you will find the same great food here. The location is easy to get to and the parking is great. The service I've gotten (carry out or dine in) has always been great and I highly recommend the Oswego location. read more

The food here is really great! I really love their menu and I am really amazed with their incredible pizza. It is so thin, cheesy, tasty, full of toppings, and the crust is really great. Their pizza is really way better than other pizza around the area. This place has the best signature deep dish pizza in the whole area of Oswego. If you are here in this area you must really visit this place and give their food a try. The menu here is really great. The rest of their offers was excellent. They also have pasta, appetizers, desserts, side dishes, and others. You will absolutely enjoy this place as well as their deals. I recommend to go and visit here earlier to avoid long lines and also when the time that the place is really crowded. Giordano's is really one of my favorite places to eat and visit at this area. We ordered for carry out and the pizza was not great. The crust was undercooked and didn't have much taste.

So the thin crust pizza was so hot and good and the buffalo wings were good as well. I gave it a 3 star because when we came in they told us that there was a 30 min wait but, we could put out orders in while we waited which is what we did because we thought our food would be almost done by the time we finally sat down. We sat for a while before receiving anything. Our waiter was also the waiter for a few other tables which she paid more attention to them versus us. I had to go to the front just to order another pizza because she didn't come check on us. She went to all the other tables refilling their drinks and could clearly see my boyfriend cup was empty I had to call her over to ask her for a refill for him and then another time for my son had she been doing her job then I wouldn't have to call her over. Great customer service would've been her coming over to check up on us checking to see if we had a refill and anything else. The other pizza didn't come until we were leaving which I was already aware of it was a deep dish pizza but wasn't as good as it normally would be they didn't put enough sauce on either. So we went in on Saturday night expecting wait time. They told us about 15-20 min so we decided to wait. It was me, my wife and 3 year old. All of us hungry and craving deep dish. We waited about hour. Only thing that save them from 1 star is that they took our order while we were waiting for table. Server was good. That place is a cluster f#@! On weekends and diner time. We were seated at the booth next to entrance across next to bar/tv area where all the people were waiting either for take out or table. My first visit here was great, but I wont be coming back after tonight's to go order. I placed my order via phone, my order was repeated back to me and my total was given. Upon arrival I was told a different total, so I inquired about any missing ingredients and all I got were blank stares until the (assumed) manager offered to cook some up on the side. (Still doesn't make up for incompetence.) I paid for my pizza, and left, very annoyed, but the worst is still to come. I get home, still angry about my order being messed up (I've been on a diet and today was my cheat day, so to be eating something that I didn't totally want, made the situation even more unpleasant) I open the box and 3/4 of my pizza was burnt. ...There isn't much else I can say to reiterate how displeased I am.
