Had a couple hours to waste before heading to Midway, so I was very pleased to see there was a Giordano's basically right next door to the airport! I stopped in around noon, and it wasn't busy at all. I was seated and waited on immediately. They have the best lunch specials! For less than $10, you get your choice of an entree and side. The quality was like everyone else's, you can read the reviews on it here, our experience didn't differ from that at all. The service, as you may tell from other, previous diners, was exactly like they said it was. The atmosphere was nice, it didn't differ from anyone else, no major changes between the other hundreds of reviews and our experience. The prices are a little high, as some other reviewers have said, but if it's not just going out with the kids for them to eat two bites and getting the "I'm fuuull" then it's worth the visit and the wait. I did my research before flying to Chicago and this place was listed top 10 for Italian beef sandwich. They had a surprisingly busy 2pm crowd which I was told as a result of a SW Airlines strike and weather causing airport delays. I was sat at a high top table in the bar area and was taken care off by a very friendly server that promptly brought me a cider to drink. I ordered the Classic Italian Beef sandwich with au jus, spicy giardiniera and sautéed green bell peppers. I also ordered a Caesar salad and garlic Parmesan fries on the side. The Caesar dressing was tasty, the fries were cooked just right and the star of the show was the sandwich!! The Italian tool was toasted, the beef was seasoned perfectly with the cheese melted and toasty. The toppings were served on a separate plate and after piling on the giardiniera and peppers and dipping each bite in the au jus it was a phenomenal sandwich!! I noticed the majority of other patrons indulged I. The deep dish pizza pies and they looked and smelled great! Next trip. Great pizza dinner after stumbling in my first foray on 11/2/2025, Sunday at Lou malnatis in Oakbrook Terrace- go see my review on that one. Anyway, I hadn't been to a giordanos pza in ~30-40 yrs since the 1980s/90s, and this one didn't disappoint, exactly or pretty damn close to the way I remembered it, yum yum, nice and hot, had to wait ~30 min for it to be prepared and baked, but man it tasted delish.... I do hafta say it was a bit salty, prob because I ordered the meat-lovers pza + mushrooms + spinach, but it came out hot, great crust the way I remembered it from the days of old, when tales were told, and magic ruled the air... very satisfying taste, texture and very filling, yum yum. Only downside is I'll prob skip the bacon next time or ask them to omit adding any extra salt if they even add it. Definitely will be a next time. The only seats were at the bar, but that was okay we got into a conversation with the guy sitting next to us and it pleasantly passed the time while we waited for our food. The food was great. They have outdoor seating and a nice menu variety- pizza (not just deep dish!) salads, pasta, etc. Our group of 3 ordered a salad each. The grilled buffalo chicken and wedge salads were decently sized, but the Greek salad was pretty measly. We had asked for the Greek salad with chicken on it but it came out meatless. The star of the show was the fresh spinach deep dish pizza we ordered. The pizza takes 45-60 minutes to be prepared, so keep that in mind when ordering. Let me tell you, it was worth the wait! Buttery crust, delicious sauce- it's everything wonderful and more. Unfortunately this location's service leaves you with something to be desired. Our salads took about 25 minutes to come out. We had no utensils and our server (or any server, at that) was no where to be found. The salads sat for 10 minutes before we were able to flag our sever down for some forks, and it took another 5 minutes for the forks to actually be brought over. The calamari came with fried lemon, peppers and other stuff. The fried lemon was interesting and the consensus was that it was delicious. What a pathetic place. They had an hour wait and the person who "greeted" us said we could "try our luck" at the bar. I happily managed to squeeze in, where the bar stools were an inch from one another. Then waited. Waited. Waited. Nothing. On a Business trip and had a strong recommendation for some true Chicago style deep dish pizza. So we gave it a go. Unfortunately after flying all day we didn't hear the phone so the hotel front desk called us down for pick up. Upon arriving to collect the food, a small angry older driver was standing waiting by the food. I confirmed the name and he said he was upset he had to wait. Yes, this can be frustrating, but it was not intentional or done with malicious intent. He proceeded to talk at me about how frustrating it is and I then called my friend down to pay for the meal. If we weren't starving we would have just cancelled being from out of town. The kicker is after he was done arguing and attempting to be confrontational with us, in front of the lobby and the attendant working the desk at the hotel, he was complaining about the lack of a tip. Now, many moons ago, working in the food industry, your tip is based on many factors. Berating another human and taking out your anger on a sweet person who intended ZERO disrespect is just bad karma. If I could give a -6, I would. A shame this person is the face of delivering Giordanos. Upon investigating other reviews, there may be a pattern with this extremely rude delivery driver. As for the food, the food is great. It will feed 3-4 people depending on appetite size. They layer in the meat for this pizza. You will not be disappointed with the toppings. There's so much cheese too.
