The owner accommodated our large-ish group and took the time to chat with us about our visit to Chicago. We ordered two large deep dish sausage pizzas. Fully satisfied and stuffed! Had the CHICAGO CLASSIC - DEEP DISH which contains Pepperoni, mushrooms, green peppers & onions. It's only a six inch pie but definitely can feed 2-3 people. Two of us wolfed down this pie but eating that third slice was a questionable call. Yes the gooey cheese and the pepperoni mixed in with the fresh veggies was oh so delicious but it definitely pushed the boundaries of my stomach. Unfortunately due to the pandemic the dining room was closed so had to do take out option. But then I got to experience the takeout box. The box was at least 50% taller than the standard takeout box so to give enough clearance for the deep dish pie. The box is also constructed such that it latches close to maintain the integrity of the pizza. Pretty awesome. Customer service was outstanding. We ordered online which gave us an ETA to pick up the pie. We showed up in the parking lot, called the guys inside to let them know we are parked in the designated spots, and they bring the pie to three car so we didn't even need to get out in the freezing cold. read more

Got the take out from here while staying at a hotel nearby. We ordered an individual pizza to share, a Caesar salad, and Italian beef sandwich. The pizza, was ok. We are not fans of Chicago style pizza, so that might be why. The toppings were good., but there was no sauce and the crust was just alright. Not sure if we had it fresh if it would have tasted better. The individual size was definitely enough to share between two people. The Caesar salad was your typical Caesar nothing special. Felt like I needed it after eating the heavy pizza. The Italian beef sandwich was also okay. Our favor Italian beef sandwich was definitely from Portillo's. My family went to the Rosemont location last night, and while the food was really good the experience was there single worst restaurant experience in my 63 years on planet earth. We were part of a larger group. I was greeted at the door asking if we had reservations. I said no, and added that we had more friends coming. I was told by the person that without a reservation my friends would not be getting a table tonight and that my family was being seated at the last available non reservation table in the restaurant. After being seated we were told that Deep Dish Pizza takes 45 minutes to 1 hour so we should order right away. My wife ordered a pizza. The server came back and took the rest of the order. I ordered a Italiano Sub for my self. Apps came out fairly fast and surprisingly my granddaughter's Chicken Alfredo came out with the Apps. A thin crust pizza that we ordered came out and then at around an hour the Deep Dish Pizza came out. My Sub didn't come out. I asked and was assured it was on its way. 10 minutes after the Deep Dish came out they brought an Entree Salad out. I told them I was waiting for a Italiano Sub. 10 minutes later the entire table was finished eating and boxing leftovers and my sub had still not arrived. We called a manager and, yes at this point I am angry. I told the manager I wanted my sub boxed and comped. The manager immediately started yelling that there would be no comp and that I needed to leave the restaurant. This gained to be the same rude person that seated us and told us our friends would not be eating there without a reservation. Absolute HORRIBLE Customer Service. I am debating disputing charges for the entire bill...service was really THAT bad. UPDATE: My wife and I were both contacted by Jim. I was contacted through this page, and my wife in response to her email. I responded to Jim in email and told him I understood he was in the position of damage control and that I would indeed edit my review as a result of how he proceeded. My wife also responded with a similar email. I had 3 simple requests, yes I am old school 63 years old, and I have in my lifetime had to suck up my pride and concede to these same consequences for my behavior. So no I don't consider these requests to be unreasonable to a civil society. 1. A simple written apology from the person that confronted me and threw me from the establishment based on bias and that fact that I complained. 2. Assurance that this would be a training moment for the company as a whole. 3. A full refund for the charges in a hand written check, I was not going to cash it because it wasn't about the money. I don't even know where to start with this one. My wife and I were staying in a hotel for a convention. We were in the mood for some pizza and wings. A lot of the other pizza places had very bad reviews, so we went with this one. The prices are a lot more expensive, but it was late, and we were both tired, so we sucked it up. We were on the10th floor of the hotel, and we specifically put in the instructions to come up to the room. I was already comfortable and didn't feel like going back down to the lobby. About 40 minutes or so someone calls my phone and says he can't come to the room and that I would have to meet him at the revolving doors. My wife said she would go but she it disabled and it's far easier for me, so I put my shoes back and headed back down. I did not take my phone with me as all I had to do was meet the driver in the lobby. got downstairs and waited about 15 - 20 minutes. I was about ready to go back upstairs, and the driver came in, looked at me and asked if I placed an order. I told him yes and he proceeded to tell me that he is not allowed to go to the rooms. I advised him that while I was waiting for him to arrive, I saw at least 6 delivery drivers go to the elevators. Either way, I took the food and went back to the room. When I got there, my wife told me that the driver had been calling telling her that I was supposed to go out to the driver way to pick up the food. WHAT?? A total cluster start to finish. My fitting last stop in Chicago, this place is seemingly designed to be that, being close to the airport and walkable to the train that goes there. Indeed, it is immensely convenient, offering online ordering, free wifi (though not as fast as Malnati's!), an outdoor courtyard as well as a large interior dining area, and a menu that designates all their vegetarian and vegan offerings. Not that Giordano's is the most vegan-friendly place, but it's nice that they label clearly. You're in for a wait if you want the deep dish pizza (and if you don't, I don't know why you're here). Fortunately, they delivered an excellent and crisp salad with a few pieces of some sharp, hard cheese. The pizza took about as long as they said it would (45 minutes for me), and arrived mouth-burningly hot. The stuffed pizza is unique, with some toppings actually on top, but most buried within. It was immensely salty and immensely satisfying. In addition to the more banal (and healthy) spinach and mushrooms, I sampled the giardiniera peppers, a pickled vegetable mix which also had a bit of celery and cauliflower. It was weird; it added some spice to the proceedings, and I suspect the sourness was more tolerable imbedded in a stuffed pizza than if you put it on top of a thin crust pizza (I find pickled peppers usually just overwhelm the whole thing). I'm not 100% sure whether I would order it again. One way or another, though, if this was the taste of Chicago, sign me up for another trip to Chicago. read more

It's been years since I last been to a Giordano's. This is a very popular location. I pre-ordered our deep dish before we sat down. Highly recommend you do that. By the time we got our table, our pizza arrived not too long after that. I did see a table full of bros easily polishing off half a deep dish each. Whoa! We also ordered a salad y'know...to be healthy and it was excellent. Between the three of its, we still had half a pizza left. Not scientific but to help you guesstimate how much to order, calculate how many slices of "regular" pizza you can consume in one sitting and divide that by half. That's how much deep dish to order. Comes with romaine lettuce, chicken, bacon, tomato, red onion, pasta and blue cheese. And it comes in 3 different sizes. I got the middle entree size and shared it. The Special came out and I was in heaven; it's sausage, mushroom, green pepper and onions. Ordered the small which comes cut in 6 pieces. I could only eat 2 slices after the salad and I was good. We also went with a vegetable pie with added pepperoni and the BBQ chicken pizza. Ok, there is no doubt that Giordano's deep dish is legit. It's some of the best pizza in the country. However, at this location, I'd recommend take out. Ok pro's - REAL CHICAGO STYLE DEEP DISH. There's one of these in LA where I live and it's just not the same. The texture, the flavor, they've got it all. A friend in our group was gluten free and they even had good pizza options for her too. con's- The service wasn't great. The atmosphere was pretty meh. And I don't know how the kitchen doesn't go deaf or insane with whatever high pitch noise was resonating out of the back the whole time. Every time I stay in Rosemont for an event, I always eat at this Giordano's almost every day. Thursday and Friday service was absolutely amazing, but our Saturday service ruined that. We were sat and waited 15 mins before our waiter came over to take our order (it was just 2 of us) we got waters to drink and said we were ready to order. We waited another 10 minutes before we got our waters and food order taken. We both order the same exact pizza and I ordered a pizza to go. When we finally got our food, one pizza was a small and one pizza was a medium. So we just kept it because our waiter didn't come over. He also never came back over from the time he took our order until we were almost done eating. Which meant, we never got an my drink refills, asked how our food was, asked if we wanted dessert, etc. When we asked for our check and for boxes for our food, he just handed us the boxes and walked away to get the check. While every other time we've been there, our food was boxes for us as were other tables food getting boxed for them. We waited another 15-20 mins to get our check as we watched him go around to other tables and give attention, refills, box food, etc. As for my to go pizza. We ended up cutting into it to eat it later that night and found parchment paper baked into the pizza. When I called the restaurant, I was told that he would try to get a manager for me then came back and said the manager was to busy to talk to me and he could take my name to possibly give me a discount the next time I come in. I said that's not possible as I'm flying back to Texas the next day. He asked me "well if you don't want a discount how do you want me to remedy this" I said I wanted a pizza that was edible and correct. He said that they could just make the pizza again and deliver it to the hotel I'm at. I said that's perfectly fine and asked for small boxes to be delivered with is as it would be delivered at almost 11pm and we will just split it up. He called me back 10 mins later and asked me what I ordered.. which tells me he didn't even listen. When I got my delivery, there were no boxes and the delivery driver stated they never told him anything about needing boxes and never wrote it down for him.
