Giavanna's is much more than Great Pizza! I was convinced by my wife to try a sub vs. my go to Calzone and she was right. Their Italian sub is amazing with the freshest of ingredients and the hot chicken parmigiana sub was the same. The portions are super generous Everything is made to order in front of your eyes by one of the co-owners! Where else in Scottsdale can you find this East Coast style authentic Italian...no where. I only leave reviews when I feel strongly about a product or service. Unfortunately, in this case I need to warn people with lactose intolerance that this pizza will trigger symptoms. The service was on par with most restaurants...not unkind. The pizza was average. Think of Dominos, Papa Johns, Costco, frozen pizza. The crust seemed stale. Usually these cheaper brands use cheaper ingredients. The cheese is highly processed and contains multiple times the amount of lactose. This causes gastric and non-gastric symptoms (headache, dehydration and fatigue to name a few). For those without lactose intolerance, again this is on par with other franchise brands. We have only gotten take out from this restaurant, but both times it has been real good! The order was done promptly when we were told it would be ready for pick up. The wings were spicy and meaty and were great both times. We got the Caesar salad and that was pretty big. It was enough to feed four of us and still have some left for lunch the next day. We have tried a couple different pizzas and they have all been good. The regular cheese was solid as well as getting a sausage and mushroom one. The real winner was the chicken parm pizza! It's lunchtime on Friday and the wife wanted a sandwich and salad. I was feeling in the mood for something new, something different, and something...pizza. I remember seeing the sign off the side of the road for a pizza shop id never been to so decided to look it up on maps and voila! (not to be concerned with the excellent bistro a few doors down :-) ) and I found it, opened the website, and ordered online the slice app. Giovanna's is new (to me anyway) and I think relatively new to the 'hood. I rarely order antipasto- usually not a fan but wow it was delicious. Everything was fresh, the vegetables had flavor and crunch and the meat and cheese were high quality. Lettuce wasn't a cheap iceberg, it was another dense darker green variety. I would order it again. Now the pizza-- the pesto was great. Again the high quality ingredients, the ricottta cheese was high quality and sooooo yum! Pizza no 2 was the Chicken Kebab pizza. I thought what a combo - I was in the mood for chicken shawarma but also pizza and this more than satisfied my urges. The dough / crust passed the flavor and texture test. Somewhat new pizza spot in the neighborhood. Came in to try their slices. Not a fan of how they prepare them. The slices are pre-cooked with only the dough and sauce then refrigerated. When you order a slice he puts on a little sauce, cheese and toppings But with the dough sitting in the refrigerator with sauce on, it becomes a soggy mess. The slice could not even be picked up. It was so soggy. Also, they do have the sewer gas problem which affects many restaurants in North Scottsdale. Owner is super nice. Excellent pizza addition to Scottsdale! Went here with my husband, baby, and father in law for a belated holiday lunch! It is small, just a few tables but we were the only people dining in! We got pizza, cheesy garlic knots, sautéed veggies, and fries. The only thing that fell a little flat for us was the garlic knots, I think they could've been a touch more garlicky and maybe they were a touch overcooked. Everything else was amazing! Loved the cheese pizza, yummy crust and cheese! Fries were nice and crisp, and the veggies were fresh and there was a great variety of veggies. A gem in Scottsdale that has best pizza around. The pizza is baked perfectly with fresh quality ingredients. The wings are excellent, great buffalo sauce and perfect sauce to wing ratio. I found a new favorite pizza place! It's only 0.5 miles from home. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? Haha. and I stopped by Giovanna's, and I met Fabian and a lovely lady at the front whose name I forgot--but I swear it might be the same as the restaurant! They were so friendly and shared how the place came to be. I'm excited about this spot! Yesterday, I decided to order takeout online. I got a 16" pepperoni pizza, an Italian sub, and a meatball sub. When I walked in, Fabian recognized me from the previous day--heck yeah! I couldn't believe how large the sandwiches were! My wife described the Italian sub as having incredibly fresh ingredients. I had a bite, and while I thought the bread looked a little thick, it was surprisingly soft and fresh. It was straight-up delicious! My stepson said he was stuffed after finishing the meatball sub. And as for me, the pizza was perfect. What stood out was the crispy crust, and the cheese had a flavor that paired perfectly with the pepperoni. It was the ultimate taste combo.
