Just moved to Windsor and went to Giovanni's but decided to check out the lounge on a Thursday night. The bartender was not friendly nor were the other customers. We waited 25 minutes for an order of cheese fries that were not well done. Drinks were also mediocre. Overall I wouldn't go back because the atmosphere was hostile. read more

Shady place to work at. Not only me but a good friend of mine had problems working here. My friend worked here for a week or two and they never once paid her for the hours she worked and she even clocked in and everything. She showed up months later asking about her money and they said "oh we will call you on Monday" never once called her. I had issues working here as well, I worked here while pregnant and the manager for the bar was extremely rude to me. I once called out sick a day in advance with a doctors note while being pregnant and she basically told me I wasn't "allowed" to work the rest of my work week until I took it up with the higher up manager. Also by the time I was 32 weeks pregnant they said "we don't have any hours for you" I asked if I was being let go and what the reason was and I got ignored completely multiple times. I was planning on working atleast another month to save money for once my baby got here but they wanted to discriminate against me for being pregnant, and without ever officially saying I was terminated I couldn't get unemployment or go to the department of labor and report them for discrimination. I only worked here maybe 4-5 months and I saw multiple girls come and go working here..that definitely says something. Would not recommend giving business to a place like this. read more

If I could give it a negative start, I would. As a long time Windsor resident, since 1977, Giovanni's (and its previous owners) have been a staple of our town. Until recently, when service got, th guy who makes pizzas answers the phone and tells you to shut up, delivery takes over an hour and generally the people/staff act like they are doing you a favor. This is no longer a local business or w place to spend your money on a pie or meal. They've lost what it means to be local Windsor establishment...I strongly urge anyone wanting a pizza in Windsor to not support such a place. Terrible people read more

This is not really a restaurant anymore. This is a bar that serves food and has a lot of room to sit. The waitress was lost and slow which I found funny as I was the only one in there. Good luck! read more

Another very typical, very uninteresting red sauce place. We came in because I think there was some sort of coupon or lunch special but the food was utterly forgettable, with that classic side of pasta sitting in a watery pool of liquefied tomato material. read more

The bartender Jen has a very bad attitude. Most bartenders are very accomdating to their customers but this one favors her everyday locals. I ordered a drink which she drowned in seltzer water and instead of giving me a new drink she wants to keep adding to it to change the taste and when I said I can't drink it I was told I still have to pay for it with an attitude. read more

Seeing a lot of the other reviews I'm in a sort of awe. Their pizza is my favorite pizza in Windsor from the dough, sauce, and cheese. I've always got a girl on the phone when I ordered and have never dealt with any issues. Also drug deals? You must be camping out there, I've never seen any of this at this establishment. There pizza blows pizza Rama and jims out of the water. If you want a good pizza, check this place out. I haven't eating anything else here but the pizza. read more

Never have i ever felt so disrespected before , i received 3 nasty voicemails and phone calls meanwhile iwork at a busy urgent care and i was in the room with a patient , the delivery driver african american male with a pineapple haircut came in rudely and demanded to the ladies at the front desk wheres hannah , ive been around this area for 25 minutes looking for the building, then when i came out of the room with the patient i said hi and he said are you hannah ? "maybe you should answer your phone calls ive been calling you not knowing where the place is, my salad didnt even taste that good, he gave me the wrong drink i asked for gatorade and got a mountain dew , so i said this is the wrong drink and he said oh well thats what they said you ordered, rudest person i know , i will never order food from here again , makes me sick the type of employees people hire. read more

Always good food. Friendly and prompt delivery. Boneless wings, chicken cutlet and eggplant grinders are our favorite. The pizza menu defaults to white sauce instead of red is my only complaint. We order from here often. They deserve a better star rating. read more

I wish there was negative stars. I signed up to yelp just because of how bad this place is. I will never eat here again. I was told for delivery 30 minutes. 1hr later the guy comes in, i asked why it was late and he said "she didnt write a time" i got a small pizza and cheese bacon fries. The fries were old, the cheese sauce was plastic tasting and an over abundance of it. The bacon had a funk to it. The pizza was horrible...the crust tasted freezer burnt. Do not go!!! read more

Second pizza in a row I ordered from here for my wife and I, the pizzas not cooked, dough is soft, terrible. The previous pizza I ordered was a large I planned on left overs, that didn't work out so well in the trash it went. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, we ordered again tonight 4-21-16, but a medium this time, same thing, again more than half went in the trash. Great food, horrible service. I ordered online as I usual do, after waiting over an hour for my food I called and was told that first the driver already left out when I asked for the specific location of the driver (I do not live far from the venue) I was then placed on hold then a man answered raising his voice at me demanding my address which I had given numerous times. I was then told that there was no order placed for me (which I confirmed with mypizza.com that that was a complete lie) & was hung up on three times with my card charged for a meal I never received. I honestly wouldn't recommend this pizza place to anybody. For starters they are very expensive and their food is sub par at best. I have gotten several pizzas from here, the only good thing about the pizza is the crust. The pizza is very thin and the cheese never stays on the pizza, the cheese keeps sliding off. Also, the food is never ready when they say it will be. I continually have to wait an additional 10-15 minutes on top of the 30 minutes that I already had to wait. Finally, if you don't wasn't peppers, onions, or anything else on your pizza on grinder make sure you tell them. Instead of them asking you what you would like on your grinder or speciality pizza, they just go right ahead and put everything on it. By the time you realize what they did to your food it may be to late to bring it back and have them fix it, which will not be quick. Overall, I would find another Mom & Pop shop to go to. read more

I can't believe these reviews. I was scared off by them but my wife and her uncle insisted on getting delivery from here based on past experience. Anyways, the delivery was fast. The driver was very nice. The pizza was very good. The prices were decent. Back to the food, I ordered 3 pies - cheese, pepperoni and a hamburger/green pepper. They were very good and the sauce was tasty. I can't speak for what the restaurant environment is like but I wouldn't hesitate to order again next time we visit my wife's uncle. read more

The food is normally very good from Giovanni's. They make one of the best pizzas in town in my opinion. Their customer service however is nonexistent! It understandable to be busy at peek times of the day and for delivery to take a bit longer but to flat out lie to the customer and then get caught in a lie, all the while denying it is wrong. The restaurant takes no credit for their wrongdoings and in turn will find it hard to keep loyal customers. We order at least 2 dozens times a year from Giovanni's and unfortunately will no longer do business with them. I would not recommend any take out or delivery from this restaurant! read more

Sunday afternoon lunch delivery: I ordered the chicken franchaise (pardon me if I spelt that wrong). At first glance something appears curdled and there are soooo many capers. I take a closer look and can only assume its the butter? The chicken appears fried or over cooked and its crispy ( some parts are unidentifiably crunchy). The sauce is extremely creamy and very tart which is probably what curdled the butter. Throughout the penne I find caper after caper. Literally must be about 200 in this dish. I tried to pick off the capers and scrape off the sauce to salvage the penne because I was quite hungry. It took too much effort and I could still taste the tart curdled sauce. I have deemed this meal too gross to eat... Oh and it came with new England clam chowder. The clam chowder smelled like fish (the bad kind like when fish has gone bad) and the soup separated during delivery so this too appears inedible. Oh and they didn't pack any plastic ware or the bread. This was my first experience ordering from this place. I would not recommend it and I'm hoping not to get food poisoning... Complete waste of $16 plus tip. read more
