Kitchen sink found to be leaking onto the floor at 530pm, called in these local plumbers who showed up within 2 hours, found the issue as a leaking garbage disposal. I confirmed they will go buy a replacement and charge me minimum 1.5 hours to get it done. they drove to home depot 2 miles away, got back, replaced, demonstrated it was working without anymore leakage, and was done by 820pm. After they installed a Bradford White water heater I contacted the manufacturer about an irritating noise issue, Although under manufacturer parts warranty they still need the plumber to do the troubleshooting. found this establishment thru Yelp as a project request. I had a water heater that wasn't lighting up. They sent out Mike. He came out 3-4 times. At first to assess the problem. He initially that it was a valve problem. Then he went out to order the part. He came back a 2nd time to replace that. That didn't fix it. Then he said it was the control module. So he ordered that part. He returned a 3rd time and changed that out. Still no go. Then it was the spark wire . Finally after replacing that, we have hot water. Now I'm no mech engineer but multiple points of failure in a single instrument is pretty unusual. Water heaters don't have a lotta moving mechanisms like a car. Electronics don't typically "wear out" at multiple points. Look at your computer or iPad for example. Heating elements sure. Ignition coils, ok. Valve failure, why not. So either I'm really unlucky. Or the diagnostic prowess here is...ahem. He prefaced the entire experience as "it's going to be a process." As if to set up the expectation that there was going to be a multi-step trial and error process. One can't help but feel like this was going to be a pricey ordeal. When your basement starts flooding it's a reason to freak out. We had numerous plumbers come out but Gladiator was both the most responsive and the company we ultimately chose to do the job. They kept in touch with me, even calling to let me know the plumber would be a few minutes late during a very busy season in December when bomb cyclones and atmospheric rivers were constantly dumping rain on the Bay Area and everyone seemed to be dealing with flooding issues of one sort or another. This is an update to a review I posted earlier this week. I wrote about a negative experience that has now been completely turned around! In response to my previous post , the owner came to our house -- he reached out to us. He came out, showed us text messages from when he'd been at our home before in 2021 and immediately got to work. Upon arrival, he even put booties on his shoes to protect our floors. Our toilet is repaired. Victor apologized for the lack of attention to detail during the previous service call this past month. Our toilet was clogged and bathroom sink was draining slowly; we had a friend staying with us so needed the job done fast. A bunch of crooks! Osvaldo came out to clear out a cleanout in our sewer line that was blocked. He quoted my husband $850 to do the work but after it was done he hit me with $1,125 bill. Basically strong armed me in to paying more than what he and my husband spoke about. Even worse, we agreed to have them do a trenchless repair and they quoted us a price and when we put it on hold to do our research, Osvaldo refused to do the work at the agreed upon price and doubled the price because "we probably shopped it around" and "it's an expensive area to work". Complete crooks....stay far, far away from this company. Their office didn't even care to hear what we had to say when we called them to tell them what was going on. read more

Gladiator came out the day after Christmas for an emergency. I called several other plumbers first, and even made an appointment with a different company, who ended up canceling. Gladiator was upfront about their fees. No other plumber I called would even give me a rough estimate. They arrived on time and even called for backup to get a special tool, which would avoid having to dig out the pipe. They tried several different tactics and worked very hard. I've been meaning to do this review for awhile. In December my main water line broke and needed to be replaced. I contacted a slew of plumbers on Yelp and settled on Gladiator. They took my call around 4pm, and came out the same evening before I had to head out to work. Other companies either wouldn't answer the phone or said to call back. They evaluated my issue and gave me the most reasonable price (some were RIDICULOUSLY overprice...adding on extras that were totally unnecessary). As it always goes we had a plumbing issue on a weekend and a lot of places I called were either not available or didn't do that kind of work in our area. We had a small leak in a joint of the sewer line. We immediately thought the worst. Enter Gladiator Rooter & Plumbing. I was not aware that when I request a quote from a specific company page that @Yelp would send this out to multiple folks in a given region. However, that is how I ended up finding Gladiator Rooter and plumbing. They along with a variety of others reached out to me in response to an issue I'd been having with a sewer line that had been backing up on multiple instances. I was beyond frustrated, as Roto-Rooter who had done my first few snake projects had just given me a wild bid to dig up my line and replace a section of pipe that had a root intrusion. One that after taking 3 additional bids was basically predatory in nature at 4x everyone else's price. Michelle at Gladiator plumbing was super proactive in her communication with me and was able to send out a crew the following day to provide an estimate. Cristobal the lead plumber ran a camera line and quickly found the issue and provided a confident solution in how they would approach a fix. He was super flexible as to the timing of when the work could get done. I had others that were scheduled to bid the project, so I met with some of them and took additional bids, but ultimately went with Gladiator as they were just the easiest to work with and gave me a confidence in their ability to resolve the issue quickly. Fast forward to today, they just finished the work and I was stunned by the precision that they dug a 4 foot hole to expose both the known issue as well as why past efforts to snake my external clean out were challenging. Throughout the process, they made sure to point to what they would be doing, what it would achieve and answer any questions I might have along the way. We had just painted our home and so I had taped off the exterior walls where the work would be done, but its notable that the crew also put down plastic and were super mindful of the fresh paint and took extra attention to keep the job site tidy. David and his team went above and beyond to help me resolve some issues. I had a short list of various projects, he quickly evaluated and gave a quote at the start. He did not try to upsell me - I thought I would be replacing a water heater but he recommended descaling first and seeing if that was enough, and it was! Most importantly, I mentioned that our water pressure was low, but I didn't really expect there was anything specific he could do. After looking at the pressure itself he was mad on my behalf! He did a lot of trouble shooting, determined it was that there wasn't enough pressure to the house, and even contacted EBMUD on my behalf to get it fixed and followed up to make sure they came when they said they would. Highly highly highly recommend victor!! My house's main water line was leaking water. I had to live 5 days without any water in my house, when I turned on the water the main water pipe was leaking water all over my yard. I was really upset and called ALOT of vendors. They all came in and did an estimate all were plus 7000 which is a lot of my money. My insurance didn't cover this cost and I lost all hopes. I came across this yelp page and decided to give a call. I sent victor some pictures and he said he will do the job for LESS THAN HALF WHAT OTHERS QUOTED. At first I thought he was a scam so I told him to come and talk to me in person to give the estimate so he came that day and explained the process to me. Avoid. Overpriced and didn't get the job done. The second star is only because of the response time - they came by within a couple of hours after the call. Charging $350 for a clogged bathtub. The guy didn't offer any warrantee initially and very hesitantly gave me 30 days when I insisted. Clogged again after a couple days so asked him to come back. Worked on it again and the same result, except this time he refused to offer any warranty for his work. Gladiator came to my rescue on my tankless water heater installation. I came back from a camping trip and discovered a leaking water tank. I happened to walk by one of their vans working at my neighbor's place while I was still trying to fix the leak, and they came by and gave me a quote in less than a day and while they were working on another job next door. Unfortunately I had another trip and couldn't schedule right away and decide to reach out to a few more plumbers for quotes, which all came in higher than Gladiator's. One of those was even double the price!? I ended up losing the initial quote from gladiator, but remembered roughly the cost so reached back and they responded in less than a day with a similar quote. They explained their reasoning for each part selection and why they chose where to install it. They scheduled an install in less than a week and the install was wrapped up in a day! David and his team have tenaciously helped me through the most hideous administrative quagmire I could have ever imagined. What I thought was a simple PSL compliance job turned into a nightmarish months-long shared sewer lateral drama, complete with difficult access points, absent neighbors, and confusing city codes. I had a toilet to replace with a new one that I bought. I choose Gladiator based on yelp reviews. The work is completed by Rick. Gladiator team was prompt in communication, scheduling, accommodating the reschedule. Rick completed the installation in short time. The installation by itself was done well. I appreciate the work done by Rick and he clarified my questions. Overall I like their work and responsiveness however I was surprised that the services does not include hauling the old toilet. Also, they don't caulk the gap between floor and toilet base. I have not heard back from the office on why they didn't inform ahead that the hauling is not included. Based on other user's review, I agree, as a customer's have reviewed. We should have the scope of work and how much they charge clearly before engaging their services. The work is done by the staff but how much we pay & scope of work is decided by front office, so please confirm your deal before you sign-up.
