My wife ordered the shrimp and grits and I ordered the lemon chicken sandwich and both were outstanding. Our appetizers were also good. The Honeybee Manhattan was so good I ordered a second (a rare occurrence) and the bartender was gracious enough to let me watch him so I can attempt to reproduce it at home. Our server Kelly was knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Everyone was gracious and friendly and we loved the casual ambiance. I am glad we just dropped in after peeking in the window while walking by. I was shocked when I read some of the previous reviews and felt obligated to post my first review ever in yelp. There is a give and take with reviewing restaurants in some areas of the country... Atlanta is not a top foodie place so for Atlanta this is a 4 star restaurant in Portland or San Francisco is would be 3 star maybe 2.5 because of service. The pros are they are one of the few decent restaurants in this area of Atlanta, they use local farms, the food was fresh tasting. Cons the service was lack luster and staff seemed overwhelmed. A huge conference was in town a few blocks from the restaurant and they had no idea, btw the conference was 12,000 public health professionals and the waiter suggested we go to a strip bar for local entertainment. read more

Stayed here for a business trip. Ordered the Black & Blue pasta. Sounded great, but it was so over-seasoned that you couldn't taste anything but the blackened seasoning. my husband and I were having dinner at this restaurant on Saturday. the first thing we saw was a place with little decoration. we sat down and milked the meal ($ 30 each dish), the food came to the table soon. My husband's dish was mashed potato with prawns (shrimp dish had 4 ... and the rest potato... seriously??) and my dinner was a salmon with quinoa and vegetables this was a good size but when I test the fish was undercooked. the food does not taste like anything ... please do not go to dinner at this restaurant, the food is ugly, poor and prices are overpriced for what they offer. each meal should cost $ 10. not worth more! read more

Congratulations to our daughter Bianca on her BA from GSU which is why we were in town to begin with. The Glenn Autograph hotel is within walking distance of the Georgia Dome as well as a variety of any cuisine of your choice. The staff and management at the Glenn Kitchen restaurant were outstanding. The menu choices can accommodate any discerning palate. The rooftop bar was yet a completely different experience, including spectacular views of the downtown Atlanta area not to mention the amazing mixologist who made us feel like we were on a tropical island. We went to Glenn's restaurant for a large party. While the atmosphere was gorgeous and the waitstaff incredibly attentive, I believe it was an "off night" for the kitchen. Previous reviews that the shrimp and grits were excellent is just not so. The sauce over powered the food with too much wine in it and made everything soupy. The salmon was great but not filling. One of my friends had the scallops and said she enjoyed them. Portions are small and honestly not worth $15-30 per plate. Cocktails were excellent. read more

Omgoodness! We had an AMAZING time at the Glenn Hotel / Sky Lounge on Saturday, August 16th, 2014. My close friend was celebrating her 50th Birthday and we threw her a surprise party. It was the perfect location with a great view, music, food and staff. Aaron did a great job helping us set everything up and Victor / Justice were phenomenal with the service and accommodating our group. I do several major events throughout the year and always try to find great venues that will work with me and be willing to go the extra mile. I must say, the Glenn Hotel is definitely the place to go and I would highly recommend it. Thanks so much for everything!!! Looking forward to our next event!!! read more

One (1) star granted because my ahi tuna w/garlic green beans & mashed potatoes was quite delicious. Service however was so deplorable it's as if the entire staff, manager included were on a mission to ruin the evening for our party of 20+. Despite the restaurant being empty besides our group and one other table of 3 folks staying in the hotel, the staff seemed 'bothered' to provide even basic customer service. One can only guess the attitude was a sense of entitlement to the automatic 18% gratuity - WRONG! A gratuity of thanks is earned and given freely (that and more) but not when the staff just could not be bothered and were ultimately downright rude, nasty and not at all good servers. One guest returned drink remained on bill along with charges for drinks that were never ordered nor delivered. When questioned, one waitress who was clearly perturbed (unsure why) responded with something along the lines that disputing someone's order defeated the purpose of agreeing to pay with one check. What does that even mean? Agreement to pay one single check does not include agreement to pay for incorrect charges. Perhaps if the staff's energy was focused on 'serving' - the waitress making the statement would have realized the ridiculousness of her statement. So many examples of bad service there are too many to list, just know that a request for matches to light candles on a birthday cake (that was delivered late after the 4th request to bring to table -- and arrived in full plastic packaging) was met with a waitress's response that we could get matches at the bar -- REALLY?!?!? Guess such over the top requests are too much for the Glenn's Kitchen staff! She did however request credit card to close the tab -- despite our cake still sitting with unlit candles and obviously not yet cut/eaten. The manager who clearly has no control over his staff nor dining room was a total joke. His declaration that he supports his staff was a clear indication of why the staff lacks basic customer service skills. I'm glad I didn't read Yelp reviews before I went to Glenn's Kitchen, I may have missed out on a wonderful culinary experience. That said, If I was rating the first 10 minutes I might give it one star, but that would have been for the Bartender, Wes, who didn't even acknowledge my existence as I sat at the bar waiting for a pre-dinner cocktail. His loss, I'm a great tipper. I actually got up to leave, and was even going to blow off dinner there, but the GM, stopped and asked if I needed a table, which I figured what the hell, I'm here. So I grabbed a table and hoped for a better experience than the bar. From the moment I sat down, it was like I was in a different place. Vanessa, my server was prompt, friendly, and took amazing care of me. I told her about my issue with the bartender, and was still a bit peeved by him, but within moments, I began to trust that I was going to have a great experience. I started out with the Shrimp and Grits, cooked perfectly, the shrimp were fresh, plump and delicious. My 2nd course was the grilled hearts of Romaine OMG!!.. I never thought a salad could taste so good. I rounded off the evening with a Belgian Waffle bourbon caramel sundai. A "icecream sandwich for adults" as the Service Manager, Earl put it. He also paired an amazing cocktail specifically for my dessert. All in all, a truly amazing dining experience. I'll be back indeed! read more

This place is absolutely deplorable. Service was error prone and slow. Meanwhile my party was the ONLY party in the restaurant for lunch. Place was empty. Food was absolutely horrible. I ordered a simple caesar salad with grilled chicken. The romaine lettuce was BROWN and wilted. This place had absolutely no shame in serving garbage food! The chicken was dry as can be. Luckily, we were able to slide into the main dining area last night before they closed at 11pm. My girlfriend and I wanted to have dinner, drinks and conversation in a nice central location and this was it! It was my first time visiting but I'd heard so much about this place plus the SkyLounge. The restaurant validates your valet parking (usually about $10) but they parked us right in the front row, so we still tipped well at the end. We tried the lobster cake, the bacon-wrapped dates, the steak and the shrimp and grits. Oh and the bread pudding was scrumptious! Our server, Genesis, and the Manager, Todd, were both so gracious with recommendations and speedy service. We also enjoyed 2 rounds of drinks and were glad to be able to have a convo in a place that wasn't too noisy but still sociable. Afterwards, we went up to the rooftop and the view of the city was amazing. Especially the ferris wheel! The weather was a breezy 76 degrees and I really liked the sophisticated lounge decor. I don't normally take time to complain, whenever I have a bad experience whether with the food or the service, I usually chalk it up to better luck next time. However for my first and last visit to this place both were so awful that I thought I would warn any way ward goodies or travelers this place was the worst dining experience I have had in a long time. To begin with I had to track down a hostess to get a seat, once seated I sat 12 minutes with no server, eventually I got up and asked a server if I could place an order. She said I am not your server but I can take your order. I order the chicken and veg soup $6 and the fried chicken, a stunning $19, about 30 minutes I finally meet my server, I ask her how long for the soup and she says what soup? I wasn't told you ordered soup... I simply gave up at this point of having a nice lunch and just hoped what I got tasted good she went and got the soup which came out in the equivalent of a coffee cup and it tasted like it was straight out of a can, even worse the veggies in the soup weren't even cooked, I literally had to take the veggies out of the soup cut them with a knife and eat them and I found one piece of chicken in the entire bowl it was the size of my thumbnail. The fried chicke was not at all what expected, you would think for $19 you would get a decent portion of the bird like a wing, breast and leg. Oh no, you get the lazy chefs cut, a bone less breast and that's it, furthermore they foolishly place the fried breast on top of the cheddar grits which made the entire underside of the breast soggy and the breaking just oozed odd. I ended up spending $27 and to be honest I get better service and food at Arby's than I did here. read more

reading previous reviews of Glenn's Kitchen, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and timeliness of service I received. I daringly decided to stop in for lunch on a Sunday--the same day as the Outkast concert (which was happening across the street). I had the lobster cake (as an app), salmon (for my entree), and Maker's and diet as my cocktail. The lobster was meaty and I didn't have to elicit the help of the national guard to find evidence of lobster. Although the quinoa, which was served with the salmon, was in dire need of some sort of moisture (chicken stock or broth) the salmon was moist and succulent (it was ordered medium-well). And Kristi, the bartender (I think that was her name) was super accommodating and attentive. She didn't talk my head off and didn't try to seduce me in purchasing some super high end spirit. She gave me what I asked for and checked back in to make sure that everything was to my liking. And by the time I was ready to order cocktail #2 she was able to suggest a"craft" whiskey that mirrored the flavor profile of Maker's. So, needless to say I will be back--for sure. read more

When my order was not quite right on my last visit, my experience was attentive and I had an exceptional superior response from the management staff; I had a dining experience that... exceeded my expectation, which would have been just an ordinary day; I would like to thank the, COS, for being the most professional and friendliest person I have encountered in the many restaurants which I have visited across the metro area; When visiting Glenn's Kitchen you must try Classic cheeseburger - The wedgie -Georgia pecan pie -Warm Bourbon bread pudding- simply good food!!!!!!!! read more

Went for lunch. Had the Mixed Greens salad with chicken. The salad was good. On my way back to the office I started having an allergic reaction and immediately contacted to them to see if the Mixed Greens had arugula in it. The young lady that answered the phone said yes and if you go into your grocery store and look at the Spring mix it shows arugula. At that time I asked to be transferred to a manager, who told me that there was NO arugula in the salad that arugula is on the same station as the salad and that it's possible some was mixed into my salad. I informed him that I am allergic to arugula and he said, sorry, you should have mentioned it to your server. I said is that it?! He said ma'am I'm sorry. I said wow and hung out the phone. I'll NEVER go back to this establishment as it is certain that they need some training in customer service and customer care and concern! read more

Rarely do I give a five star rating. However, tonight's experience at Glenn's Kitchen was nothing short of excellent! From the time that I arrived, till the time of my departure, the staff was on point. I went to the restaurant as a recommendation of a friend and met up with an old friend who I later found out had been there. The restaurant was very quaint and had a great atmosphere. We were given some restaurant favorites before ordering by our server. Their recommendations were excellent choices for my friend and I. The food was delicious, the presentations was awesome and the service was great! My friend had the trout, which was very good and I had the short ribs, which were tender and "fall off the bone" good! The end to a perfect night was the decadent chocolate cake. The management team also did periodic checks on the guests, which spoke volumes on how they are concerned those who patronize their establishment. It was a delightful experience that can be recorded in the history books! We definitely plan to dine again! read more
