There was no wait when we arrived here around 1pm on a Friday. The service here was so fast and they check up appropriately to make sure we're doing okay. They newly renovated their place and it is so beautiful, modern, spacious, and has lots of natural lighting. Mimosa- nice mixture of champagne and Orange juice. Smoked salmon benedict - hash browns were actually buttery and not too oily. The smoked salmon also known as lox was so yummy, soft, and smokey. Eggs were perfectly poached and yolky. English muffins was toasted nicely and was able to soak up the yolk from the eggs which was delicious. Coffee cake - super moist, soft, and warm. The cinnamon on the coffee cake wasn't too overbearing and was the right amount of sweetness. I loved that there was a little whipped butter added on top to enhance the cake's richness. Came here with my boyfriend yesterday, breakfast was mostly good! The alcoholic drinks, honestly weren't great, wouldn't make that mistake again. We ordered the banana pancakes ($15) and the brandon omelet ($19) and each alcoholic drink was $10. Drinks aside, the food was very tasty! I love Glo's! Typically very very busy on the weekends so be prepared to wait! What's nice is you can order a coffee from their coffee bar as you're waiting! The food is amazing! There was just something about this place that worked perfectly. The atmosphere was relaxed, the coffee was delicious, and the breakfast was superior to most. I don't know exactly how they cooked the eggs and hashbrowns, but they were better than any I've had. Hmmm.... I don't know what to say about this place. Food is great. But, there is no reason it should take an hour after placing your order to be served. Why? I thought about ordering another entree, keeping my table, running out for a few errands or maybe a quick trip down to so cal and returning to scarf down another meal- baby Jesus knows I'd have had the time. This place always has a line! Now I understand why. 1) it's not a very big place. 2) the food is so flavorful. It's typical diner food but I got to say the chef knows how to cook hashbrowns perfectly. The portions of the food are good. I didn't even finish half my hashbrowns. A bit on the pricey side but you are in Cap Hill area. The wait to get in this place was about an hour but it gave us some time to walk around and check out the farmer's market going on right outside the restaurant. They said I had to sit at the bar, on a high stool. I declined and left. I feel for the employees who obviously felt bad denying me a chair at a table, so this is a management decision. As I said the place was half empty. On a Wednesday. So if you want a place to eat eggs and coffee by yourself, and you can't easily balance on a high stool- I would give this place a hard pass. This place stands out among others as their mission is to provide for the needy, but it drastically diminished a paying customer's experience. Not because the homeless are shady, just their prioritization. I got the last table in the restaurant, on a Friday morning but it took 10+ min before I was taken care of. It's actually a small spot: 10 tables but there's a mirror on the wall to appear larger. They wanted to give coffee and sandwiches to the homeless first, leaving me and at least 10 people waiting in line to sit down or enter the waitlist. It's actually a very popular spot and has 30-60+ minutes wait regularly so I got somewhat lucky. However, it sadly did not live up to the hype. I got the smoked salmon benedict which is priced on the higher end of most places. $22 for 2 eggs and hash browns that were of standard diner breakfast quality. Smoked salmon was alright, and the eggs were poached properly. However, the hollandaise was a bit too tangy, and the hash brown was overly salty. I actually couldn't finish the dish not because of the quantity, but rather the quality. It was unnecessarily oily and salty. I feel the prices are set high to offset the costs to make the sandwiches and coffee for the homeless, which is understandable, but they should not prioritize it in such a way I have to wait 30+ min for a dish that I'm paying. The additional star is that they have good service, a bit excessive of course because it's an American breakfast place. I've bookmarked this place for a long time and finally tried it, but I wouldn't really recommend this place as a must go spot in Seattle. read more

I loved the variety on their menu and I was tempted by the seasonal special of pumpkin French toast but got "Azzy's" (hash browns with veggies and guacamole) instead, and a chai latte. The chai unfortunately only had a subtle flavor but the frothed milk was great and the cinnamon on top gave it a nice aroma. The hash browns seemed fresh (not frozen) and had the right mix of crispy/not crispy and the veggies were great too - especially the grilled zucchini. This is my favorite brunch spot in Seattle! The eggs benedicts here were truly delicious and every minute worth the long wait time in the morning. We ordered a variety from their menu including the original eggs benedict, the eggs blackstone, and the smoked salmon benedict, all topped with extra avocado. The eggs were made to perfection in all of them and the hollandaise sauce shone through with a good amount of zesty lemon flavor. But the original eggs benedict was by far my favorite. We were so full by the end of our meal but decided we should still try the highly reviewed coffee cake, and these reviews were absolutely right; the coffee cake was so moist and melt-in-your-mouth joy. The new Cal Anderson space is beautiful as well: spacious, bright, and artfully decorated. It'd be amazing if a reservation system was set up in this new location too! We arrived at 10:30am on a Saturday and wait times were an hour. After being seated, it still took another 30-45mins before our food arrived. There are a fair number of seats inside, but definitely be prepared to come early or wait -- at around 10AM, the wait was ~1.5 hours. I would put your name down and walk around the area! They have a fun, old-school diner vibe and an assortment of classic breakfast foods. The servers are really attentive and nice, and I didn't feel rushed at any point despite the long wait. I got the Glorito breakfast burrito and it was delicious -- the hash browns are SO. GOOD. The ambiance is like a modern take on a diner. The hostess and servers were all friendly and very quick. Opted for a vegetable has (which you can add an egg on top of). It was $15 + $3 for the egg, which is a little on the pricey side but when it came out, my eyes went wide bc it was so huge. Tasted great with some Aardvark hot sauce. My only gripe was that the coffee was really bad to where I didn't even get the free refills (I mean, this is Seattle). Should have opted for a latte since they serve Herkimer. But it's a fun option for a basic breakfast if you find yourself back in the neighborhood. It's in a very sleek, large new space, with a great location right by the light rail station. I was there on a Monday so it wasn't too frenetic. Menu options are basic, but it's breakfast you know? My scrambled eggs were really good and fluffy, I liked the thick buttery rye toast, and while I think 5 dollars to sub fruit for hash browns is bonkers, I enjoyed some free tomato slices instead. My waiter was very attentive and helpful. Sounds like this place gets nuts over the weekend, but if you are around on a weekday it was an easy place for a tasty breakfast. I never write bad reviews about places but here it goes. I've been to Glos several times for brunch, even excitedly bringing out of town visitors since it's essentially the only place to get a decent breakfast in the neighborhood I also come nearly every single Sunday to get coffee during the farmers market but after my visit today I won't be back. I walked in to order coffee per usual and I stood there for 5 minutes before the 2 baristas even acknowledged me, and when the young man did walk up to take my order he asked "has anyone helped me yet"...(him asking that questions just doubled down on his lack of situational awareness) no clearly not I'm standing here and you haven't noticed me in 5 minutes. They were busy making drinks and I get that and usually give a lot of grace to busy servers/baristas as I've done the job before so I get it...but while they were busy supposedly backed up making drinks the 2 baristas had no problem chatting with a friend of there's who was also at the counter; so you were too busy to even look up for 10 seconds and say "hey, give us a second and we will be with you" but not busy enough to have a full blown conversation with your friend? Train your staff better. Period. Customers should come before leisurely conversations especially if you're in a a rush to make drinks. Again it takes 5-10 seconds to look up and welcome someone. To make matters worse when they finally did make my drink they forgot the vanilla (I ordered a vanilla ice latte) and I got my drink after a lady who ordered after me got hers For someone who comes in weekly, tips well and is always friendly to the baristas it was just a jarring experience to essentially feel completely invisiblized and on top of that written off by the staff because when I told the baristas I was frustrated that they had ignored me for 5 minutes and then made a woman's drink who ordered after me before mine I was rudely written off and told I should be understanding since they were busy. Literally the guy barista told me "if you worked in the industry before you should know this isn't helpful or productive" when I voiced my frustration. Needless to say I won't ever be coming back to Glos. I definitely feel like if I was a white customer I would not have been treated to or talked to this way and likely wouldn't have been ignored (because even with how busy they were a white couple walked in before I ordered and the host immediately enthusiastic greeted and seated them) read more

We put our names on the list with 12 parties ahead of us and took a spun around m2m mart to kill some time. Afterwards, we just stood around the front of the diner and waited. As the waitress called for parties they were ready for and they kept not being there, she saw us waiting and decided to just seat us early since we were just sitting their waiting. So nice!!! I got a Nicholas scramble with rye bread and it was SO much food. So much GOOD food specifically. The rye was toasted perfectly and the butter on it was so smooth and rich. They also have jam on the side for the bread and i do love my bread with jam.
