I was truthfully expecting something that wasn't it. So that part was a bit disappointing. But I also got a very average, play-it-safe breakfast with the french toast. It was good, but I'd come back and try the loaded french toast next time and immediately regretted not getting it. My friend got the eggs benedict, and he really enjoyed it. The coffee, however, is not either of our favorites. The service was amazing, and the food came out really quickly. The vibe of the place is definitely worth checking out. I am BEYOND excited that Glo's is open again and their new location is amazing! They've got a perfect retro diner setup with cushy booths and the same fast, friendly service. It seems all of Seattle is equally excited because I showed up around 11am on a Monday and there was a packed restaurant with several other parties waiting outside. Luckily this is in a cute area and the weather was nice enough to endure the wait. My party of 2 was seated after about 40 minutes and it was worth it. My favorite dish is the Azzy Special which has loaded diner hash browns mixed with perfectly seasoned veggies and I like to add a fried egg. I've also tried a couple of their egg benny's and all have been delightful! This is my favorite brunch spot in Seattle and I always take my out of town guests here. This place is super clean and nicely decorated, if not a bit small. It almost felt sterile, but that might be because it's newly renovated. We only had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated at around noon on a Wednesday. The staff were very friendly and service was great! The food is a little pricey but portions were huge. Food was okay, service was lacking. My friend and I were seated right away and our order was taken a few mins after being seated. However, we waited over 35-40 mins for our meal. No one came to notify us there was a delay. We walked up to the counter and ask. Staff seemed a bit annoyed at us asking, which could be understood due to them being backed up. One of the staff had mentioned they had open a bit late and was behind on orders...but would have appreciated a notice of delay. Their waffle was soft like bread with no crisp, the hash browns were semi-warm, the side of toast was soft like it had been toasted and then left. I did LOVE their Secret Aardvark sauce, my friend and I agreed it went well with both savory dishes, a great breakfast hot sauce! Overall I would not go out of my way to grab a bite here. I've eaten at Glo's for breakfast a few times while visiting Seattle. The staff are so friendly! This trip I had the scrambled eggs- so creamy and very delicious! I had the lemon poppyseed pancakes with lemon curd. It's a huge stack so I ordered the short stack and couldn't finish it. My friend had the lox scramble with hash browns and rye toast. She said it was excellent! The restaurant is next to an apartment building that has a parking garage so it's very convenient! I'm looking forward to my next trip and eating again at Glo's. I have reframed from writing a review for Glo's new location. You know so they can sort out their workflow and execution. As a person who has ate at the original location for the past 20 years it did not live up to the expectations. The first time I went to the new location about 2 months after they opened. I ordered the Corned beef Hash. It was equivalent of going to the dollar store and buying a can of corded beef and dumping it on cubed potatoes. To top it off it came with ton of hashbrowns. Carb overload. I went a second time, this time with my partner we had a good breakfast. I don't remember what I ordered, so it was unrememberable. Today, I went again with my partner, and I ordered the Sausage Biscuits and gravy. It was always my go to when I would go to the original location. The biscuits were undercooked and doughy. The sausage gravy tasted like roux (flour), and I couldn't find any sausage in the gravy. The biscuits were doughy and undercooked. The hashbrowns tasted like oil but hey at least they were golden brown. It took over 20 minutes before we got our food. The person next to us who arrived 10 minutes after we ordered got his food before us. I won't be visiting anytime soon. read more

Came in here on Christmas Eve yesterday. This place was packed. Waiting list wasn't too long, 15 minutes, but it was worth it. The hostess Hannah was super nice. Set us down next to the window where they were having a Sunday's farmers market, nice view. The portions are incredible, everything tasted fresh. The bloody Mary's were the best, cappuccino was decent. The only issue we had, the parking was crazy, drove around for 20 minutes. Really amazing hash browns. I don't even like hash browns and these were great. London fog was good, too. Got it delivered. They have an option to add plastic ware, ketchup, hot sauce, and jam on door dash. But no option to add salt/pepper or butter. Need to add that. Sausage wasn't great. Bread needed the butter, and eggs needed the salt. When staying in a downtown hotel you don't have those things on hand. My stomach hurt after this meal (and I didn't eat much). Glo's is back! So happy to have another breakfast/brunch spot I'm Cap Hill. Menu is similar to what they had at the original location with the exception of their famous coffee cake which I don't recall seeing on the current menu. I went with the Spanish omelette sub hashbrowns with fruit plate. It is a hefty serving of fruit and had blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, kiwi, banana, orange slices and melon. All of their omelettes have 4 eggs so are of decent size. The Spanish one has filled with sausage, cheese, garlic and topped with avocado, salsa and sour cream. Also got the biscuits and gravy as a side. Gravy I believe is vegetarian friendly. The space is a bit bigger than the original location but not by much. The wait times during peak brunch can be crazy long which is in line with how Glo's always was. They do have counter top seating which is the way to sneak in and skip the wait if you are a solo eater! read more

After reading a lot of the glowing reviews on Yelp, I came in with high expectations. However, it did not meet my expectations. Came on a chilly Tuesday morning at around 9:30 and there were two other tables with customers in this small hole in the wall restaurant. As many reviewers have said, there are a lot of homeless folks outside getting free coffee from Glo's, which I think is really cool that they do that. Especially since it was super chilly the morning I came. As of April 2022, they are still asking for proof of vaccination before being able to enter, which is much appreciated on my end. I ordered the Eggs Florentine. The food took awhile to come out even though we were only one of a few customers at the time. The benedict was just ok, I've definitely had better, but the hash brown was really good. It was nice and crispy! The portion size was definitely more than enough. Service was good. An enthusiastic yes with some tips and do not go here if you're in a rush. If you are dining here for brunch on a weekend (maybe weekday too?) call 1.5 to 2 hours in advance to put your name on the waiting list. On a Sunday in February we waited 1.5 hours for our table midday (they said an hour on the phone but we got there and waited another 1/2 hr). I'm not complaining though - I really appreciate the call in advance system, it worked great for us. If you get there and you are still on the waitlist check out the goodwill thrift store just around the corner or if you're there on a Sunday check out the farmers market a few blocks up and over. If you didn't put your name on the waitlist perhaps you want to consider eating at the farmers market it looked amazing! They have a routine system in place for seating and serving tables, although arguably not the most efficient - they do seem to move people through pretty well. One server will see you and bring you drinks & menus. The other server will take your order. For food service I think the servers should probably have their hair tied back more, but maybe I just get grossed out too easily. Regardless of the hair - they were both lovely. The place is quite small, about 10 tables. There are two tables I would consider undesirable right beside the washrooms but besides that they're all pretty cozy. It is a divey diner sort of feel. I would say go as a group of 4 or less but they do have one table that would seat 6. We shared Huevos Rancheros and Banana Pancakes, both were delicious, huge and filling - a perfect savoury sweet brunch mix. Good coffee too. Everything we saw looked great. Glo's specializes in American diner food and they do it pretty damn well. We went for brunch and got the salmon benedict and the French toast. There was a good amount of salmon although I thought the egg was slightly over-poached. Hollandaise was smooth and rich. The French toast was airy but I would have liked a crispier exterior.
