    vegan khao soi
    Jackie S.

stellar vegan thai food! i went with a vegetarian friend of mine and we ordered the vegan crab rangoon, vegan khao soi, and vegan pad pong karee. the vegan khao soi was my favorite and the vegan crab rangoon was hot, crunchy, and cheesy. the staff were friendly and would occasionally check in on us to see how we were doing. it's a small space with a few tables but it's well decorated and homey.

Pretty little restaurant. Probably a better choice for takeout. You definitely should make a reservation if dining in. There are many vegan choices. It's on the pricey side. Skip the spring rolls. The tofu satay was meh. The crab woonsen didn't look attractive, but tasted great! The papaya salad was also very good and fresh.

So many vegan Thai options at this place! Tried the Pad See Ew noodles with tofu no egg. Very good and not spicy. The spring rolls were perfect! A cute vegan option in Chelsea!

A nice spot where the food is just top of the line. I got tofu satay cuz when can you ever get that at most Thai places and the HH edamame. My partner got tofu green curry which we shared and was just lovely. All were served in culturally authentic bowls, which is important to someone like me who doesn't make alot of Asian food at home cuz our ingredients can be so particular, you can't just walk into Trader Joe's or Westside to make them! Also, the thing about places that are at a slightly higher price point like Glur is that you don't have to share the room with a loud, student crowd which makes for a calmer, more romantic setting: 19th Street in that area is super chill which adds to the vibe. Can't wait for my next paycheck (heh) to go again.

Solid neighborhood spot. This is apparently a regular place for my sister so we got a couple of her usuals and then a couple of new things to try. It's a cozy little space with about 7 or 8 tables. The wait staff was efficient and nice. For food, we ordered a fried chicken wing off the specials menu that was probably my favorite thing of the night because the spices and sauce just contributed to an amazing burst of flavor. Unfortunately, I don't remember the name of it. We also got a khao soi, pad see ew, and crab fried rice. They were all pretty solid and enjoyable. I will say the type of crispy noodles used in the khao soi was different than other khao soi's I've had before and wasn't my favorite texturally. My sister also said the crab fried rice had a lot less crab than before as she was unsuccessfully hunting for visible pieces of crab. Other than those two nits, it's a pretty good spot that I'd go back to.

This vegan-friendly Thai restaurant has a wide variety of classic Thai dishes, and many options for plant-based customers. It is quite small inside but a cute place for a quick meal. Their Thai iced tea is made with oat milk, but if I didn't know, I wouldn't be able to tell! The apps were alright! The Plant-based Dumplings were made with a vegetable filling to mimic the look and flavor of meat, but I think you can definitely tell the difference. The filling also kept falling out once I put my fork in it. The Golden calamari had a light crisp as the breading was a bit thin, but it still had good flavor with a mayo dipping sauce. I loved the amount of crab in the Crab meat fried rice and the spice level on the Pad kee moa noodles. It was chewy and packed with fresh shrimp! Of course, no Thai meal is complete without Mango Sticky Rice for dessert. Theirs was quite good.

4/5 Thai Tea -- a bit on the sweeter side, standard richness of a classic thai tea 4.5/5 Curry Puff -- crisp flaky pastry, generous and flavorful filling 4.5/5 Green Curry- really enjoyed the flavor of their green curry, along side all the veggies in the dish with the jasmine rice. 4/5 Massaman Curry -- nothing to write home about but was tasty and hit the spot for a massaman curry craving 3.5/5 Pad Thai -- taste was overall too sweet, sauce was very liquidy, noodles erred on the softer side. Also note this restaurant is on the smaller side, maybe 6 tables total. We came on a weeknight around 6pm, and was lucky a group just finished their meal so there was no wait.

    Vegan Khao Nar Ped

SERVICE - located in Chelsea near flatiron - small interior with some seating for groups of 2-4 and a few tables outside - many people doing takeout - service made it seem like they wanted us to eat and leave as soon as possible rather than leisurely enjoying our meal - ambiance good for a casual/semi casual meal - restroom available for diners MENU - Thai selection of mains and chefs specials - many vegan/vegetarian options - average price ($20 per entree) FOOD - vegan khao nar ped (8/10): crispy vegan duck over brown rice with a gingery sauce and sides of cucumber and greens. I asked for chili paste on the side and while it wasn't spicy the tang and warmth from the ginger was unlike any Thai dish I have tried. The portion is perfect for one person and can easily be shared as part of a larger spread. The texture of the vegan duck was chewy, but the flavors were masked by the sauce. WOULD I GO BACK? Yes! This is one of the most vegan friendly Thai places in the city that has affordable and flavorful food.

One of my favorite small spots in Manhattan for some comforting and delicious Thai food, I've come in a few times and their pad Thai with shrimp is delicious, I also love their red curry with vegetables. During my last visit to NYC I decided to try some of their soups I loved their Tom Yum with shrimp and their Tom Kha is a great option for those who are very sensitive to spice, they were both very good. It's almost a must visit whenever I come to New York Whether I come with friends or myself.

very tiny cute place. authentic thai food. beef pad med mamuang (cashew nut sauté) was the table favorite. pad thai was a little weird almost like sweet - prob wouldn't order it again. green curry was spicy and delicious. chicken satay appetizer with peanut sauce

Sweet cucumber relish. A chicken skewer with a cucumber relish.

Although Glur is small, it has a good layout and seating. This place is super comfortable and has a great vibe. We received hot and tasty food. Guests were always assisted by the wait staff. I highly recommend Glur Thai for lunch, brunch, dinner, or dates. For those who enjoy dining outdoors, the outside seating is a great feature. I loved the food because it was so flavorful and delicious. All menus should be requested. Only their seasonal menu was provided to me, with fewer specials. Other diners had additional menus, so I inquired about them.

Pad Thai with daring chicken and Ground Impossible Gra Prow
    Anna D.

Such a great vegetarian option - I'm not a vegetarian or vegan by any means but it's so nice that people can have more than the 1-2 options that menus generally offer. We didn't have any issues getting a table for 2 on a Saturday evening - it did start filling up as we ate. The menu is quite extensive with some core options and lots of newness with vegan options. I'd recommend the daring chicken option with any noodle - personally the pad Thai ($20) was good at first but then got too sweet once again. The ground impossible gra pow with rice ($22) was 100% a must have! It was very flavorful and had a sweetness without being overpowering. Would definitely come back - it's a small space but great for pairs or groups of 4.

They had a very respectable pad see ew beef - sweet and savory, good amount of egg, a little stronger bitter broccoli but otherwise a good dish, good quantity to fill you up even though in the bowl it seemed smaller than it actually was with the rice noodle cooked well. The steamed sea bass with garlic and lime (Pla Neueng Manow) had beautifully cooked sea bass with a very nice spicy/sour/savory green garlic sauce which I'll have to try again. The fried version is supposedly very good, too, and the one person that always gets the basil fried rice had a wonderful aroma that we'll have to try again later. Mango sticky rice was a tasty dessert (although we probably didn't need the 3 orders they recommended for our table of 6), though usually like I like the purple rice version better, and came with a very cute shovel spoon. They gave a free birthday dessert of caramel delight which was ok, crumbly and sweet (I'm not a caramel fan but others liked it). Overall, good experience and solid food - while not the best Thai I've ever had, this certainly is a keeper for the Midtown East area. Will come again soon to try the lunch specials! Service was a little slow due to how busy they were, but do appreciate the birthday candle for the birthday friend!

Of course, we opted to try things that were out of the "norm". We started with the Khun Pan Pld Fashioned (which is old fashion with a Thai tea twist), of course, Thai iced tea, soft shell crab larb (omg so mouth watering) and the Pla Muk Tod (Fried Tumeric Coconut Calamari). These were new on the summer menu and I hope they stay! The dipping sauce in the calamari was sweet, tangy and syrupy with some heat but not too sweet. It was good without the sauce but with it, made it even better. The soft shell crab larb, wow, blew us away. The crunch and heat factor with the basil "salad" was out of this world. It is definitely spicy but is soo tasty. From their "privileged" menu, we had the duck chu chee which is a crispy roasted duck in a creamy mildly spicy red curry - the duck and curry was soo bomb, super crispy and stands out from other places. Finally the Royal Thai Spiced Lamb which is grilled lamb chops with karee curry sauce, snow pea tips and roti, sooo flavorful and so good. The veggies and the lamb paired so well with the curry sauce. It was not gamey or chewy but after all the appetizers I could not finish this dish. For dessert, we did try the Khao Neaw Puak which is a taro sticky rice with coconut ice cream. Again different but I think I will pass on this next time. I happily introduced her to my two favorite go tos: the crab fried rice and the steamed branzino. The crab fried rice was nothing like I was used to. Even at some of the other notable Thai restaurants I've been to, their crab fried rice presentation was basic compared to this one. The egg on this fried rice was soft and melty the soon it touches your tongue, and we didn't even have to chew it. It melted perfectly with the buttery crab and the rice was so warm and soft. It was a sizable portion but it didn't take us long to gobble it all down. Then came the steamed branzino. The presentation here I want to say is so unique that it blew me away. The fish was cut so that the head and tail of the fish was chopped off (a little disappointed but glad it was clean cut), the fish was so soft you would question if it was even fish...the soup was lightly seasoned with chili and lime and it wasn't super overpoweringly spicy that you can still taste the fish flavor. Everything was delicious and they even had a pre fixe menu that I will definitely come back and try again!
