Casual place to go to for some fish and chips! We came by for lunch and got the Henry VIII to try a mix of everything. The fish had a nice fry to it and was nice a moist. The crabcake was all crab meat, but didn't have any lump meat. The fried shrimp was a little breast. Fries were really disappointing and not crispy at all. Everyone else in the restaurant looked like they just ordered the fried fish and I can see why. Staff were friendly and service was quick.

Tried this spot today for the first time. Everything was so crazy good! The fish and chip platters were huge and served on newspaper which was cool. We also tried the battered crab and a fish pie! The food was fresh and piping hot! Will definitely go again, highly recommended!

Food this trip was great. Fish and Caesar salad. Service was terrific and the shop is very cute.

Small portions of fish and chips $14

Service was good, friendly and food came out suspiciously fast . The portion size for the fish and chips is small, so not worth $14 to me. You can get double the fish if you pay an extra $8 I believe. The fries were soft not crispy on the outside at all, maybe that's their style, I don't know. The fish was nice and crispy though. The lemonade tasted like cleaning chemicals so that was a waste of $3.

I stopped by here this past Tuesday for takeout for my family. Go Brit! wasn't our original intended dinner spot, but whenever another place in the same plaza accepted our online order and then wasn't open, I called an audible. So I phoned them up, placed the order and was told that it would be ready in 10 minutes. I walked in around 15 minutes later and my food was ready for us and the lady working there packed it up nicely. The inside of this restaurant unsurprisingly tries to feel British between the "mind the gap" sign, the beers that they offer and Union jacks hanging throughout. For dinner on this day both my wife and I decided to order the fish and chips while both of my in laws decided on the broiled lump crab cake sandwich. My fish and chips here ended up being quite a solid dinner. The fish was cooked nicely and even though the batter looked heavy, it was pretty light. I enjoyed dipping it in the tartar sauce to break up a little of the richness. Then the fries were crispy and I ended up dipping them in the accompanying malt vinegar which I loved and haven't done in years. My wife also enjoyed her fish, especially the batter. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future. While it wasn't our original destination, it ended up being a good substitute.

Perfect location right by the beach. Great to go option at a discounted price, we got it and watched the concert at the bandstand. Tasty and quick!

Was a bit surprised by this spot! Looked a little too kitchy but the Yelp reviews changed our mind. We needed a quick bite and this was perfect. Obviously ordered the fish & chips and was pleasantly surprised. Really flakey big piece of fish. We got it takeout and it stayed crispy on the drive. The fries could have been more crispy though.

Once I saw shrimp and grits on the menu, I immediately zeroed in on that. I love shrimp and grits going back to my Winchester days. Succulent shrimp, cheesy grits, and a nice porky meat to give it extra character. Here they use chorizo. But ham or bacon are good options as well. I also like that they give you eight big pieces of shrimp. Not like other restaurants that only give you two or four prawns and call it a day. The crab bisque is good too. A tasty soup that works well this time of year. Even though it was cold the first go around, the second one tasted hot and fresh. Of course it would taste good. The Delmarva region is abundant in crabs. Just as I would expect a clam chowder to taste great in New England or Manhattan. One thing to nitpick, it should come with oyster crackers, not saltines. They work better when it comes to a bisque or a chowder. Besides that, I have little to complain about.

Located in the quaint downtown, Striper Bites pays homage to Lewes' history as a former Dutch whaling and port city with nautical themed decor. Large wooden barrels, ship steering wheels, mounted fish and nets adorn the walls and accent the dark wooden furniture and color palette. There is a diverse menu, but when I'm in town with friends and family...I keep it simple. I'll usually start with one of the many beers on draft; check the chalkboard for what's on tap from the ever changing selection. The crab dip is an AMAZING appetizer. Chunks of crab meat are mixed in with cheese, given a quick bake, and served with buttered toast points. Great for sharing. You can also ask for additional pieces of bread (which I usually do) to sop up any residual dip. The bistro burger is nothing fancy...but everything a good pub style burger should be. A well seasoned angus beef patty is grilled is topped with aged white cheddar, bacon jam, house sauce, arugula, and nestled in a briche bun. The side of fries are also nice and crispy. Honestly, I've had the fish and chips, the fried shrimp, and other seafood dishes, and no suprise, it's all good. Service is always friendly, but not always as "prompt" when it gets busy - which in the summer during the high tourist season - but that's to be understood. Every town needs a neighborhood gathering spot like Striper Bites.

The food here is remarkably good at a reasonable price. It is not quite southern barbecue, but the food is tasty and enjoyable. In my opinion, barbecue restaurants should have a room in the back for naps, because that is what you will be doing after you eat here. It does get a bit loud here with the live entertainment, and parking can be hard to find on weekends, but that is understood. Better than an empty lot and walking out on an empty stomach.
