Apparent from the name, this is a restaurant to eat duck in San Francisco at Bernal Heights. Reservations is a must at this whimsical place. Choice of appointments from the belt driven fans, lighting, general color scheme to the pretty dishes exuded the good taste of the owners. The staff were polite, and attentive. Cantonese duck was the center of the attention, which was well deserved. Very nice and crispy skin and delicious and succulent meat that melted on the tongue. The Nice Melons salad was very delicious along with other dishes. This is must go place.

Love the ambience and energy! Casual yet still feels a little elevated. Located in a quiet neighborhood on the edge of SF. Service was attentive but they did forget one of our dishes (watermelon salad). We had eaten enough by the point we realized so it was a blessing in disguise. Between 5 people we got the BBQ combo, a disco duck, 9 steamed buns (come in orders of 6,9, and 12) and some garlic greens. The skin was super crispy and the sauces definitely enhanced the food. We had eaten enough but had room for an indulgent dessert. It was pricey for what it is when I live close to many options in Chinatown but overall nice experience to catch up with friends visiting from out of town.

Wow wow wow! We ordered here for the first time last night and the roasted duck was so good. Everything we got was really good! We ordered it via UberEats and it was packaged so well especially with the foil neatly wrapped around it. The Seasame balls were pretty big and pretty good! The Charsiu was also pretty flavorful. The noodles were also decent! The roasted duck was definitely the star here and by far the best we had so far. Totally recommend getting take out here. We look forward to going to the restaurant as well!!

No wonder this reservation is a little tough! This place is delicious. Service was excellent, attentive without being overbearing, genuinely excited about the food. We had the Cantonese duck, and added garlic greens and rice. It was tender and delicious. We added the buns and the hoisin they came with was really good. The duck came with a savory sauce and a tamarind sauce and both were really good - I was worried deboned duck would be too whitewashed but it was delicious. I want to try the other styles but I'd definitely eat this again. The pork combo (char siu and pork belly) were both good - I'd say not outstanding just solid but the sauces were again the star of the show. Authentic yet impactful, I was double dipping each time. I really enjoyed the fried noodles too - lots of meat, and really good noodles - thick chewy glutinous and a great flavor. The Asian pear salad was decent but I think it's the only thing I wouldn't be excited to order again, it was decent but I felt like the pear chunks were a little too big and the contrast with the fish sauce in the dressing was more than I was excited about. I'd definitely return, though! Yum.

From the moment you step into the restaurant, you're welcomed with such a beautiful setting. The people here are so warm and welcoming. I love the blue plates on the wood tables. Now let's talk about the food, Go Duck Yourself for real if you don't come and visit this place! The food was AMAZING!! The duck! OMG! The best! They cook the duck in the special duck oven. Legit the best!

This is a great taste of SF Chinatown in Bernal Heights. I love a restaurant with a forceful name and they make it very clear that they are all about the duck. They also make sure that you know it's NOT Peking duck but Cantonese, which is the same kind of duck you get from SF Chinatown. Three of us came here on a Sunday night and we ordered the Cantonese roast duck, soy marinated chicken, crispy and BBQ pork combo, garlic greens and egg custard buns. Everything was good but the highlight of the meal was the crispy and BBQ pork. They serve a pu'er tea that pairs really well with the food but packs a bit of caffeine. In terms of ambiance, it's very casual and typical of neighborhood Asian spots. Service was solid and attentive. With tax and tip, this was about $60 per person. This definitely scratched the itch for Chinese food without having to go to Chinatown.

Saw a clip of this place and the two brothers and knew we had to try it. My wife and I love a good duck. Came right at opening for a date night and had great service. The younger server was clearly doing his best, and a woman stepped in to help and really elevated the experience. It was just the two of us (no kids), so we over-ordered as usual. Got the half duck boneless. normally we prefer au jus, but here the plum sauce was phenomenal. The au jus was a little salty. Duck with rice was better than with the bao, but the cracklings with vinegar and bao were SO good! Also tried the braised pork belly (a bit salty), the char siu noodles (solid), and finished with the bao sampler and soft serve. Baos were just okay. I've seen comments about pricing compared to their old spot, but Bernal Heights rent isn't Chinatown rent. Love supporting local. We'll definitely be back--next time with our boys.

Definitely get a reservation as this place gets busy! Smaller restaurant so not the best for big groups. Staff was attentive and really kind. Food- some of the best duck I've had. Rivals the classic Peking Duck. This duck was so unctuously fatty and paired well with white rice and the dipping sauces. The sticky rice was also very delicious. The two style of pork was fun to try - I like the BBQ one the best and the almost hainan chicken style dipping sauce. The crispy pork belly was a little overcooked and tough so not my favorite but also not bad. Overall I would come back if I was craving some fatty non-beef protein

I stopped by Go Duck Yourself after hearing a ton of buzz, and I'm glad I finally checked it out. First things first: this is not Peking duck, so don't walk in expecting the traditional Beijing-style crispy skin, tableside carving, or pancake setup. What they do serve is their own fun, modern twist on the BBQ Cantonese duck--think bold flavors and dishes that don't take themselves too seriously. The duck itself was juicy and well-seasoned. I especially loved the sauces--they clearly put thought into balancing sweet, savory, and spicy. The vibe of the place is casual with a bit of attitude (in a good way), and the staff was friendly enough to guide first-timers through the menu. Prices are on the higher side for what is essentially elevated comfort food, but the creativity makes it worth a visit. If you come in with the right expectations--again, not Peking duck--you'll probably walk out happy and full. Would definitely return when I'm in the mood for something ducky but different.

Cantonese style duck that is so juicy while the skin was crispy and flavorful. The sauces on the side were also unique and my favorite was the plum based one. Also do not sleep on the combo both the char siu and crispy pork belly were not heavy at all. Not pictured is the watermelon salad which is the perfect light appetizer to go with the meal. The noodles were ok i probably wouldn't order it next time. Overall great spot with fast service and good food!

I need to go back asap! This is a wonderful place for families to eat. Our waiter was nice and very accommodating to toddlers. They provide high chairs, plastic plates and cutlery. As someone who is Chinese and lived in Beijing, I can say that thing duck is delicious. It does vary from the Beijing duck as it's soooo much juicier. we ordered a whole duck for three people (two very tall men, though), along with watermelon salad, buns for the duck, and Chinese broccoli. This was the perfect amount of food for the theee of us and we were able to finish every last bite.

Love the ambience of this place and the service was excellent despite there being a wait on a Sunday evening, we were able to have some drinks and peanuts while we waited. We got obviously the classic duck dish which was delicious. We also tried the taro cakes which were fried and very crispy, we really wanted to try the chicken, but they were out of that. Instead we opted for the combo platter which was quite good, which was the roast pork and crispy pork. We got the fish sauce wings which were great! I would say the fair the prices are quite fair.

OMGOODNESS what a great restaurant. We shared too much food, and it was all delicious. GDY Cantonese roast duck with bao, rice, and greens. AMAZING. Crispy skin pork belly with greens and rice. DELICIOUS. Nice melons. Watermelon cucumber salad. REFRESHING and DELICIOUS. Vanilla soft serve was a nice way to end the meal (would be even better with some crushed five spiced peanut brittle... just sayin', wink, wink) When we come back we'll skip the rice and just order the greens. The wok char on the greens was perfect. The GDY duck edged out the pork belly (only by a smidge)... and the duck was so good on its own it didn't need bao (we love bao, sauce, and green onions... it's just that the duck was. so. good.) Service was welcoming and wonderful. Can't wait to come back!!!!

We ordered the kumquat umeshu highball and the lemon oolong highball and really enjoyed, quite refreshing. We ended up getting the small squab, lamb skewer, Mapo spaghetti, and eggplant. I liked that they had a small squab option which was perfect for two people. The meal started with complimentary cucumbers and peanuts snacks perfect paired with a drink. Everything was delicious but if I pick a favorite, I think it would be the eggplant. The lamb was very tender and flavorful. It's a small restaurant so I would probably only come with 2-4 people. I think you can walk in but the wait seemed quite long so I'd try to get a res. I wish it was easier to get one or I'd be back more often :)

Read about a lot of hype about this restaurant and my friend secured a coveted Friday night dinner…read morereservation here, so we decided to give it a try. It's kind of a tiny hold-in-the-wall space at the edge of Chinatown, removed on the outskirts of the very busy central shopping & market districts, and I would not have even noticed it had I been casually walking around not looking for it. Underneath a learning center and with only a faint front facade, inside is a world of good food in a tight tiny space, bustling positive energy & vibes, and a uniquely Hong Kong dining experience that's a lot cleaner than the surrounding Chinese restaurants. At first glance of the menu, I didn't think that there would be much for us to eat here. I mostly stick to vegetarian & lighter fares, especially when dining before weekend concert or entertainment adventures. Once inside, we were greeted by a very cordial hostess and many friendly waitstaff. They proceeded to guide us through the menu and were very patient & attentive with our indecisiveness & slow speed to order. Once we figured out our selections, they were very happy to place our order and quickly brought out our selections. Every dish was well-presented. Portions can be a bit tiny, but we prefer small portions anyways, to sample as much we can without filling up and feeling weighed down. After sampling the free seasoned peanuts & marinated cucumbers, we started with the Kumquat ume-shu & osmanthus Lemon highballs. They were very tasty & refreshing, small-ish in size/quantity, but quite good & a good balance of flavorful mixers along with alcohol. The diner next to us encouraged us to also try the Chinese almond milk highball, which is not made from almond extract, but true almond milk that was carefully extracted & infused. All of the drinks were good, but I'd have to say that the Kumquat ume-shu was the winner and I'd drink it again. We ordered mostly small vegetarian bites. Sichauan cabbage, snap peas in tofu dressing, Sichauan potatoes, and olive green beans. The dishes were very good, but I wasn't a fan of the heavy sauces & flavoring used. The Sichauan tasted a bit more sour & bitter than I expected, although the vegetables with it were cooked well enough to retain some "crunch," and tasted fresh and clean. The sauces were a bit overpowering and abundant and I felt like the vegetables were drowning in them. We watched as other diners ordered more adventurous carnivore & pescatarian dishes and were amazed at the portion sizes, presentation, and appeal of such things as crab, squab, clams, jellyfish, escargot, scallops, lamb, steak, chicken, and pig head. Almost made me feel like I was missing out by being a vegetarian in a traditional Chinese restaurant, everything looked so good! But, they also looked really heavy & were smothered in sauce & seasoning too, and I like my food light, delicate, fresh, and clean. We were satiated & satisfied with our meal when they unexpected brought out a free round of the vegetarian chow mein. It was huge, and we barely even made a dent in it after eating our courses of vegetables & cocktails. I have to say, the chow mein that i did eat was great. It was perfectly oily, tasty, slippery, and salty as good chow mein should be. It was buried under a mound of vegetable toppings, but the noodles underneath were divine and some of the best that I've ever had. The restaurant is very busy, it's loud, it's bustling, it's crowded, it's fun, and its friendly. Staff constantly monitoring the room & checking in/up with diners. Lots of authentic Chinese pop culture decorations such as posters, pictures, memorabilia, trinkets, and furnishings to look at on the walls & shelves. The bar is tiny, narrow and constantly packed elbow-to-elbow. It has some smaller 2-seat cafe tables, a few larger tables for bigger parties, a narrow corridor, and a good view of the kitchen to watch the chefs create their dishes. Faint background Chinese pop music was literally drowned out by the noise of many diners having conversation but it added to the authentic HK dining experience. I liked Four Kings. It was a great dining experience with good food & excellent service. I would probably stick with highball cocktails & some lighter vegetarian fare if I came back here again. I'd probably avoid the Sichauan sauced dishes, as I wasn't a fan of the sour/bitter flavors. But the snap peas, green beans, and chow mein were my favorites. We had fun dining here, and I feel lucky to have tried a place so popular & in demand. It had a younger, upbeat, youthful feel to it, reflecting the waitstaff & demographics of its diners. I was very clean, organized, efficient, friendly, fun, and tasty, and everyone here had good vibes. Would come back here again knowing what I like now, and look forward to trying maybe some eggplant, spinach, or rice dishes next time. And I can honestly feel that there will be a next time soon!

I order my item, the chicken wings and item to share: the pan-fried dumplings, while my partner ordered one of the noodle soups. She comes back later and points out that the noodle soup has soy - much apperciated because people sometimes share, etc. And I said it was just for my partner. -- The chicken wings were plump, crispy, the first two were 'heathly', didn't taste the salt, and the rest were packed with flavor. If you're looking for consistency there is a #1 spot in Chinatown for chicken wings which I will not disclose in this review. But, otherwise, for flavor - I like it here. My partner said he didn't find the ones here oily but I said the bottom ones were a little and I did enjoy it. The panfried dumplings - the meat was succulent and delicious, I didn't think there was enough soup, these ones are smaller than other places, but the meat is massive. Came to pick up food to bring home. Our usual order can comprise of roast duck, roast pork, BBQ…read morepork, soy sauce chicken, and/or duck feet. When ordering the BBQ pork (char siu), I always ask for a leaner portion since I prefer it without too much fat. There wasn't much of a line this time--decades ago and even pre-pandemic, there was almost always a long wait during their busier times like during lunch and dinner hours. A relative of mine used to work here over 30 years ago, and I remember how nonstop and demanding it was. It was hardly a slow or relaxed environment. They also suggested adding mochi to my order. I passed this time, but I'll give it a try on my next visit. These days, there's a lot more competition along the Noriega corridor, which may explain the change in crowds. Still, it's nice to come back for the familiar Cantonese foods I grew up with and love.

We came on Thursday and got the roasted pork and pig tongue. My mom really liked the roasted pork,…read morethe skin was crispy and the meat was super tender. The pig tongue, however, wasn't really her thing and didn't have much flavor. We also tried the coconut mochi ($3.80 for 3). It was pretty good, with black sesame, peanuts, and sugar inside. They also have ginger pig feet and pork belly, which we might try next time. Overall, solid spot if you're here for roasted pork!

Stopped by Yongzi Ji for an early Saturday breakfast right when they open at 11:30 am. The place…read morewas still quiet, so we were seated immediately. We ordered : - Braised beef wonton noodle soup : noodles had that perfect springy bite, the broth was light , well seasoned & comforting. The braised beef was melt in your mouth tender, and the wontons were fresh, plump, and juicy. Everything was on point. - Fish porridge : I appreciate that the congee is not too soupy/ watered down. It was hearty and fish was delicately cooked just right, not dry or rubbery like some places. - Curry fish balls with pork rind : Good side dish, nicely seasoned with a spicy kick which we loved. Parking was relatively easy, there's metered spots across the street. Service was fast & efficient, the aunty who served us was super friendly and on top of everything. The interior is clean and comfy with a chill, welcoming vibe. Definitely planning to return, especially for another bowl of that beef noodle soup!

We ordered 8 items and everything was top quality, but my favorites were: - Ribeye XO "Dan Dan" mein with sesame sauce - Berkshire pork Shanghai soup dumplings (XLB) - Crispy shrimp & meat tofu skin roll It's a small restaurant and was super busy when we went around 11:40am on a Sunday, but luckily we were seated immediately when we walked in. I was able to get a walk-in table for dinner on a Sunday evening. The restaurant is pretty small,…read moreand the service was great. I will say, the restaurant felt a bit... drab. There was no music playing and it felt like everyone was whispering at their tables because it felt weird to talk at a normal volume. The interior design also does not match the quality/price of the food - I really think this place could use a redesign and new paint job... Anyway, the food overall was good, but definitely on the pricey side. We got two items off the seasonal menu - a spicy shrimp wonton starter, and the country fried rice. The wontons were good, but not spicy, and the fried rice was really good. It definitely could have used some chili oil on top, but was still good as it was served. The food also came out pretty quickly and was a great temperature. We also got the spicy string beans. They were alright, but not much better than any other dim sum restaurant's. Our total after tax & tip was about $100 for two people, with just two starters, one main dish, and a single beer. This definitely feels high for the quality/quantity of the food, but the great service helps makes up for this. I would say if this place got a redesign and lowered the prices a bit, it would be booked up every day.

Chashu bao - 5/5. Pretty big and was super tasty! Definitely one of my favs and wasn't too overly salty. Pork shumai - 5/5. I haven't had such a fresh shumai, and although it was just 3, it was still a good portion. I would definitely come here again with the prices and the taste. One of the best dim sums I had. Though, there is no longer any tables to sit down at, so we had to return to our car to eat.

30 person line, on Memorial Day. 1 hour for us to get inside and order. Food is served immediately…read moreover the counter. Waiting in the line is an experience in itself, if you have a group, time will go by faster because you can yap. An hour was a dread. But 30 minutes do fly. There's a grocery store next door to snack on/explore if you have a group member that'd you want to send in there. If you don't know what to get, there's a sign outside the door when you hit the front of the line that lists the top menu items. We got an order (each) of the shrimp, chive dumplings. And the baked pork buns were absolutely worth the wait. Don't be afraid to get one too many, as you can take it home and reheat. And by the way, we arrived during lunch time. The line was half the size around 2p.
