Last night's dinner was delicious. My date ordered the seafood pancake and Bbq beef ribs. I had vegetable potstickers and spicy soft tofu soup. The service was on point. We did ask for some time between appetizers and entrees, as we were not in a rush. That didn't happen. But water refills, checked on between courses and during entrees to ensure satisfaction, did happen. The seafood pancake had lots of seafood and was perfectly cooked. While the potstickers were good, I will skip the next time. My date loved the flavor of the ribs, but did not think it was worth $30. My soft tofu soup was delicious and had great flavor. She literally just said a series of food without and pause, I didn't listen in any of them. When I was asking for more Kimchi, they always just give the minimum that I had to ask couple times. Food: Bulgogi - score 3/5: seems my parents enjoyed it, but I think the Bulgogi was over cooked. I can smell the burn. They marinated it well but I hope it's less burned. Seafood pancake - score 5/5: seafood pancake is really really good. I highly recommend this dish. There's a lot of seafood in there and it's very crispy. I truly enjoyed it. I would come back for this dish. Bibimbap - score 4/5: I preferred hot stone bibimbap, it's not extraordinary but it's pretty good. It can also fill you up. Staff was extremely rude. We put our name down as we walked in and saw two open tables expecting to sit down shortly as we had a baby with us. The staff completely ignores us and continues picking up the phone to do phone in orders and take out orders. I ask if we can take the open seat and the response was "No, I'm busy put your name down". She easily could've sat us down and gave us a menu and told us she would be with us in a bit after she frees up. read more

I was CRAVING authentic Korean food but did not want to drive to Pleasanton or San Jose in the rain. Go Goong was close to our hotel, and while the reviews on Yelp were mixed, we thought it was worth a try. I am so glad we went. The restaurant is located in a little strip mall and is tucked into the corner. The parking lot is really crowded since there are so many stores. The restaurant itself is very open and clean. Bonus. We were seated right away and had the nicest, most attentive server. We did not want a lot of food, so we stuck with Yukgaejang for me and Chapchae for the fiancé. Both came with rice and about 8 different little banchan. Their kimchi was really tasty and had a slightly sweet finish which I enjoyed. The food came out about 10-15 minutes after we ordered. My soup was piping hot and had a nice spicy kick to it. It was delicious. I will say that it was a bit more oily than other restaurants (chili oil I am guessing) but it was tasty. The chapchae was a huge hit. My fiancé is in the area often for work trips and said that he loved it so much, he would return on his own. That says a lot! read more

Delicious! I ordered through Doordash and picked it up in the store. The order was ready 20 minutes before the estimated pickup time, so unfortunately I didn't get it quite as hot and fresh as I would've if it was ready at the pickup time, but at the same time I appreciated their speed! None the less, we ordered the Seafood/Beef tofu soup, and Bulgogi. These orders came with two bowls of rice and an assortment of side dishes. The bulgogi was delicious!! You can never go wrong with this type of meat and marinade. The cabbage and onion on the hot plate soaked in the meaty flavor. The soup had lots of seafood, but not too many meat pieces. The broth itself was lacking in flavor and spiciness. Generally mild would have hits of heat to it but this soup did not. Could be because we arrived too close to closing. The Tri-Valley area has seen a tremendous spike in Asian population in the last decade or so. Usually when Asians move into an area, good (and sometimes bad) food would follow. Go Goong is just one of a number of Korean restaurants popping up in that area in recent times. Go Goong is located in a strip mall in downtown Dublin. To be exact, it is in the southwest corner of the strip mall. The same strip mall also houses Amakara and a soon-to-be-open Paris Baguette. My friend Phil and I went there for lunch today. We arrived at the strip mall at around 11:30am and had no trouble finding parking. Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted immediately by the wait staff. The interior was clean and roomy. The modern wood-themed decor added a nice touch of elegance to the place. There were more than a dozen tables and we were seated at one off to the side, between the entrance and the kitchen. One of the female servers brought us water and menus. She had a great smile and was very polite. After a few minutes of looking over the menu, we ordered: - Seafood Pancake ($11.99) - Seafood Soondubu ($11.99, extra spicy) - Beef Short Rib Patties ($12.99 lunch special, actually one patty and not patties) The seafood pancake was excellent! It wasn't overly thick or greasy. The edge of the pancake had a nice crispiness while the center was moist. A small amount of fresh/frozen seafood (shrimp, squid, and mussels) was used and that definitely was a plus. My seafood soondubu arrived bubbling hot. A raw egg was cracked into the cauldron tableside by the server. Overall, it was decent. The taste of the stew was flavorful. Like the seafood pancake, a small amount of fresh and frozen seafood was used. I liked that they put a small bunch of enoki mushroom in it. The only negative was the portion. It was smaller compared to most Korean restaurants. Phil's beef short rib patty was of good size. I'd say it's at least 1/3 pound. It was served on a sizzling platter on top of some sliced onion. It didn't appear overcooked. He told me the meat was moist and delicious. An array of seven banchans was served alongside our meal. They were all pretty pedestrian. Service we received was very good. Our server checked on us a few times and refilled our water and banchans. With T/T, the total came out to $48. For that area, it was pretty reasonable. IMHO, Go Goong is one of the better Korean restaurants in the Tri-Valley area. I'd definitely go back if I'm in the area. There aren't a lot of Korean restaurants in the Tri-Valley so I was excited when Go Goong opened their doors last year. They are located to the right of the UPS store and diagonally opposite across the parking lot from Amakara. The lunch menu/items are quite extensive with the usual bi bim bap, kalbi, bulgogi, tofu soup, bbq chicken, etc. Their banchan selection includes a good variety of side dishes: kim chi, fish cake, broccoli, pickled radishes, and more (see Yelp pics) I've had their del sol bi bim bap a few times. Instead of a large cast iron bowl, it is served on a rather shallow iron bowl. The crust on the bottom at the end of the meal is always a treat! I tried their combination seafood tofu soup last time. This was great! Generous portion of seafood. Unfortunately, they only serve white rice here. (no brown or purple rice). All in all, a great place to have lunch. I am a big Korean cuisine lover. But I have narrowed down my favorite dishes to a few dishes. For our 2nd visit to GoGoong, we ordered our all time favorite Jhap Che noodles. The kids like the chewy texture and flavor of the glass noodles. It comes with a variety of meat and veggies, which makes it smell and taste good. We also tried their fried chicken, tofu soup, and Spicy Beef Soup. The fried chicken wings were great! They were crispy on the outside and juicy inside. Our 5 yr old loved it. She's a big fan of crispy chicken skin. Their special seasoning had a pleasantly tasting flavor. Except for the Spicy Beef Soup, which we found a bit bland and the beef a bit tough, we enjoyed the rest of the dishes The seafood beef tofu Soup was a delight. Adding the fresh egg put a nice touch to the presentation and taste. I liked the variety of FREE appetizers that they offered. Our two toddlers particularly loved the crispy mini shrimps. The service in this place is exceptional. They're prompt and helpful. I appreciate how they ensure to keep our tea cups filled. And that they had kid-safe utensils. read more

Go Goong is a spacious, Korean BBQ restaurant inside a strip mall in Dublin, sharing the parking lot with Amakara. We came here for a light lunch. Overall, I like the food and am willing to come back and try their dinner offerings. I'll give 3 stars for now, though its closer to 3.5 stars. Compared to Tofu House in San Ramon, the prices seem higher, and quality and variety of banchan are less. The dishes we ordered had some bright spots: Sweet and Spicy KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) wings were indeed crispy and had a nice kick. The wife felt the meat was a bit dry but I disagree and felt it was fine. Wound up eating all the wings by myself. Seafood Ramen was my wife's dish - the broth had good flavor and the noodles were chewy. Mussels and squids were the predominant proteins. I had just a few bites. My wife felt this version was better than Tofu House's. Seafood Pancake was interesting -similar to green onion pancake but thicker, softer, and more oily! They had generous amounts of green onion, squid, and a few pieces of halved-shrimp. They left a bit of tail in one of them. I love that they do all of the cooking for you in the back kitchen so the place is not so smokey. Menu consists of a variety of tradtional Korean eats. We came for lunch and ordered the spicy chicken and BBQ short ribs. Both were EXCELLENT and as are their sides. They offered free refill of the sides. Excellent new addition to the Asian dining scene in west Dublin. Parking was difficult (it was a Friday evening), but I had heard good things about Go Goong from my friend Roger L, so I persevered till I found a spot. I was alone - they greeted me politely and seated me at a two person table. The menu was extensive with a lot of interesting options, but I finally settled on the Go Goong noodle soup. This comes spicy or non-spicy, with beef or seafood versions. I ordered the spicy seafood soup, and it arrived - steaming hot - within minutes. The portion was large enough for two adults, so I immediately asked for a to-go container. As the server was neatly laying out the banchan, I soaked in the smells wafting from my bowl. Fishing around (hah!) among the noodles, I spied clams, shrimp, mussels, and at least two types of fish. I ate in silence, except for the occasional slurp, but no one seemed to notice, or mind! The flavor was out of this world - a seafood lovers delight. No wonder this is one of their top sellers. As I filled my to-go container to the brim with the soup I was not able to finish, I resolved to return soon with friends and family. This is the kind of restaurant that calls for a family-style sharing experience. My friend wanted to come here for dinner since apparently she loved it so much she went 4 times in 2 weeks. We got there at 6:30 and they were pretty busy for a weekday night. We ordered two of the cold noodle soups, a seafood pancake to share, and I got the spicy beef noodle soup. The seafood pancake came out with the banchan and it was bonb, super crispy and very thick batter with a decent amount of seafood and veggies. The banchan selection here is large, but not that tasty. I only looked the broccoli, bean sprouts, and the seaweed. My spicy beef noodle soup was savory, full of veggies, a bit of noodles, and a little bit spicy it wasn't that spicy at all even though I ordered extra spicy. Prices here are a bit higher than other Korean restaurant in the area. The cold noodle soup here is delicious, it is so refreshing and yummy my friends polished off their entire bowls. My family and I came down from Marin (where we have zero Korean food) since we were in the mood for traditional Korean food, and this place did not disappoint. We started with the kimchee pancake (delicious and crispy) and the rice cake and dumpling soup (also great, although I wish there were even more of the dumplings!) as appetizers. I then had the beef dolsot (hot stone) bibimbap, which was the highlight of the dinner. The cast iron bowl was shallow and wide, giving the rice more surface area to get crispy. The portion was generous and it tasted fresh, with every bite having crispy rice. My wife had the pork belly, which she loved as well. Kids had the mackerel and the salmon, everything was tasty and portions were good. The Banchan were also good, as was the kimchee (just a little heat) - I just wish there was more!
