Y'all.. I've been here more than 10 times in the past month between dine-in and to-go since I found it. The food is immaculate!! Everything hits. I'm not sure how they do it. Also they don't skimp on the alcohol in the drinks, and the pancakes are perfectly soft & crispy & delicious. We are consistently seated in a timely manner, and the staff is genuinely kind and professional. I appreciate that since it's not always the experience in Atlanta. They play good music and have a mix of generations there. It's such a great vibe with family or friends. This is definitely my new go-to. My husband went last week after golf and stumbled upon this gem. He immediately told the waitress he was going to bring me and he did just that and the waitress remembered him and his son. Folks were waiting at 11am for them to open. We were seated by the bar. I ordered crab cakes and an espresso martini to start. The brunch menu was massive and I had no idea what to order for entree. After eating the crab cakes I just ordered the jalapeño cheese grits. The jalapeño was on top and you could mix it in. Best grits ever! Husband got an omelette and croissant and loved it along with the coffee. The espresso martini was awesome as well. Hoping to visit again real soon as I tapped out after the crab cakes and grits. Sigh. Today I decided to visit Gocha Cascade location with a friend after our hike ! I was quite excited because I really enjoy their breakfast foods. However, today was a a bit disappointing considering the quality in food taste and the appeal discrepancies . My situation was simple, "what I ordered vs what was delivered to my table! " The host , waitress and floor manager were kind . I can tell that they were just doing their job . Although , you can feel the uneasiness given that restaurants are short staff and lots of shifts are being made constantly! Anywho, the waiter and manager noticed that I didn't eat my meal and I let them both know that I just didn't enjoy the meal and the food menu photo did not match my order. The manager made me aware that the owner was present and on the line cooking and would not be discounting my meal or allowing me the option to choose another dish . She also made me aware that because they are short staff and have lots of new people training she will not be able to speak to me about my dissatisfaction. So, pretty much pay for what you do not like because it's a house rule and all sales are final ! The meal that I ordered was the lump crab , fish and grits dish . In the past I have ordered the lump crab skillet . My crab meat usually are lumps . Todays dish did not model the pictured menu item. The disappointment was heavy for me , especially knowing that I was not even worth five minutes of talking time. A scene of angry was not worth my peace. I paid , and left the establishment with a disheartening experience . All in all , I will not be returning . I work too hard as everyone else to throw away my money . I have been to this place several times and although it's a commute for me from one side of Georgia to the next, it has been worth the drive every time! This review is long overdue. Let's start from the front door because that's actually where you're greeted. Ideally, you would want to have a reservation because this place is buzzing with folks from the inside out being that this is a must-try restaurant and the waiting list can grow like a wildflower with everyone wanting to see what the hype is about! But don't let that discourage you because they are so gracious and helpful here that they will do their best to accommodate a walk-in, you just may have to go on the waiting list, but let me add they do have a bar which is first come seating. Once inside you will adore the modern ambiance with cute aesthetics such as the chalkboard wall that will, if you look closely, offer a discount with a few strokes of your keyboard. Don't quote me on that because I believe it changes from time to time but maybe you will be fortunate to go on the day that it hasn't. Pushing forward.. the staff is super friendly, awesome, and always available despite how intensely busy this place is and can get. Also, let me say this... there is something to be said about a business when its owner is willing to roll up their sleeves and jump in to help. It's even more satisfying when the owner is so humble that you never know who it is because they are there working as if they are a part of the wait staff etc without prejudice! Moving on to the food, oh, it's an open kitchen by the way so you can see your food being prepared and prepped. Anyhow, the food . Once again, I'm no foodie and I'm very picky but when I say these recipes are mouth-watering and will have you wishing the chef could maybe stay over or heck, just move in with you!!!! And the portions are amazing, so there's always something to take with you for later. Everything is to perfection, chefs kiss. I'm a borderline vegan which you will hear me say numerous times in my reviews, so it is essential that I find places that cater to my preference. I found it once more here! Big takeaways and checked boxes for me with this place are the staff, ambiance, food, my money and me being appreciated, and for what you get, the prices are worth it. With places like this, I always make it my business to tell everyone I know and if I go I try to invite them with me. P.S. I come here often and normally the food and service is great. Today, we (2 of us) sat for over 40 minutes and no food. We asked our server the update of our food twice and she never came back with an update. She was working the bar and other parties. Water was empty and it took a while to get more water. I've been twice to the Cascade location and it's so good it will leave you thinking about it like a great date it's the type of place where you want to try almost everything on the menu so take friends and share! This establishment serves the best pancakes on the planet I'm willing to bet my last . Everything I had was Amazing . The fish and grits was so perfect . I like the crab cakes too very meaty . Bartender was excellent and very knowledgeable about the menu . Servers didn't leave a memorable impression don't even remember them speaking . However our bartender Shannon was the best . As a frequent customer to this location, it takes me 1hr and 5 minutes MINIMUM to come to this restaurant. This means, I'm passing MANY breakfast/brunch establishments between Woodstock, Acworth, Kennesaw, Marietta, Smyrna, Atlanta and more. Personally, I ONLY come for their pancakes!!! Today however I was highly disappointed!!!! My party and I had a phenomenal server, Shanice! She recommended some great drinks - Strawberry Henny Margarita, Old Fashioned and Gocha's Heat. We also had the empanadas, which was extremely tasty. One guest had the chicken & waffle stack, which they demolished. However, my other party and I had the pancakes and they were DISGUSTING. It had an off putting taste - sour, lemony and a terrible aftertaste which couldn't be described. Our server requested that the manager stop by. When the manager came, she asked me to describe what was wrong. After explaining, she said it was the "buttermilk." I told her, I always get their pancakes and when I make homemade pancakes i use store brought buttermilk and have made homemade buttermilk and today's taste was not "buttermilk." She then said, "well I've been selling it all day and no one else complained," and maybe it was a "fresh" batch of buttermilk. She asked the kitchen to make me a new batch of pancakes and it tasted the same. She then told me, well it does look slightly different and is a bit thinner than normal. She said "maybe" they used a substitute mix. However after analyzing the store , I couldn't understand how they can use a substitute mix when they're selling pancake mix which I originally considered purchasing because it came highly recommended by the bartender/server on my last visit. She also said maybe it wasn't a "fresh" batch of buttermilk but could see why it might taste different. When I received the bill, I was shocked I was still charged for it because I ONLY ate the chicken sausage which reminds me of the Delia's chicken sausage and they were great. See, it isn't about the $14 for the meal, it's the fact it wasn't edible. Shanice, my server, was extremely professional and apologetic. This score isn't based off her service rather the pancakes (my go-to) and the manager's dismissive disposal and different explanation as to why today's taste was different than the many times I've dined. We thought maybe it's because it was closing time but production of food should be the same from beginning to end. And I still can't understand how an establishment that sells their own pancake mix would use a substitute product when they had mixes onsite. Came in to celebrate my son's pre-k graduation. We didn't have a reservation but they were able to seat us quite quickly even with a full house. Our orders were taken and food brought in a timely manner. Everything looked picture perfect and the food was delicious! My mom and stepmom, (yes they were both at the same table, LOL) raved about the fresh squeezed orange juice. The staff was also very accommodating as my mother was using a walker and needed assistance maneuvering through the tight isles and getting up from the table. The food here is good. I took my friends from out of town here but the service was HORRIBLE. It's like the server was stalling (30 minutes left+) to take our order. We ordered drinks from the bar, he forgot about them. I'm not sure if service was slow for regular people because Omarion the singer was also dining in or what. As soon as he left all of a sudden service picked up. My server didn't do ANYTHING the whole time but made sure to put automatic gratuity, then at the end waited to try to be helpful. Please do better. It was good to see the owner working in the kitchen but whoever the floor manager is needs to pay more attention. The food here is really great. What's not great is the wait time. You really have to go on a weekday if you don't want to deal with being on a waitlist for over three hours. I had tried for Sunday and Saturday and before 11 AM, the waitlist was already closed with no intention of opening it again because it was too long. That really irked me to be honest. When I was finally able to go, I got the salmon grit cake. Very delicious, never had grits in that form before and I really enjoyed it.
