Don't walk, run here! They opened only 3 months ago? Why aren't they packed for a Friday evening yet? The price for the premium menu was $58/pp and is a bit of a sticker shocker, but it was a great yourself for a hard work week kind of night -- and totally worth it! They have an overwhelming extensive menu of offerings from KBBQ to sushi to a DIY ramen station and hot chocolate and coffee station. They have a lot of options for appetizers, such as japchae, korean fried chicken, tofu soup, egg soup, rice, gyoza, etc. You order everything through the QR code and get to select up to 5 items per category and submit your order every 5 minutes. We didn't know at first and submitted one order of 5 items only, so had to wait a little bit until we can submit another. Don't worry though, because the 90 minute rule was still plenty of time for us. The sushi was actually really good and IMO, was fresher and better cuts than some other ayce places that serve sushi, and that says a lot coming from a sushi connoisseur. Their meats were pretty tasty as well. Only 1 plate was a bit too cartilage to our liking, but we will opt out of getting that again. The ban chan, salad and mixed veggies helped balance out too much protein for us. We didn't have room to visit the ramen bar or get hot chocolate or coffee, but will be sure to try it out in a future visit. We were also offered cookies and creme and vanilla ice cream at the end to enjoy. Tip: The servers also help change out your grill constantly, so you don't have overly burnt food. This was a huge plus to us! The restaurant is a bit hard to find, but just look for Mimi's and they're in the same lot. They probably need to upgrade to a bigger and brighter eye catching sign if they don't already plan to do so.

I was so excited to try Gogi Nori after finding it on TikTok. There are so many AYCE spots now in OC, but I like that this one has sushi and meat options. We did the premium course. You order off of your phone , which is nice for convenience. You can order 5 meats, 5 sushis, etc at a time for each round. The sushi/fish was great! Felt like good quality. I'm still thinking about the wonton chips with tuna tartare! It was a pretty big portion of fish. All the sushi was good and so was the crispy rice, though that portion was quite small. It's okay though because you want to try everything vs. have big portions for something you can't finish! The meat was also good! I enjoyed everything and felt like the quality was good. The ribeye was alright though, would probably not order it due to textural issues in the future. I like that their pork belly was on the thinner side so it made it more manageable to eat! Their other wagyu beef meats were great! Their grill is also pretty unique and didn't burn at all (we chose no marinated meats though). But it was cool to see! They also have a miscellaneous menu of things you can order AYCE; like garlic, rice paper, fries, steamed egg, etc! Drinks are à la carte so you have to pay extra and there's no dessert. Overall, I would definitely come again as it has a great balance of both sushi and meat! Perfect for everyone!

I was looking for something delicious after my graduation ended around 3 PM on a Saturday. Let me tell you, I was STARVING & I'm so glad I found this spot. We were welcomed with smiles, seated, and served instantly! It was my first time here so I tried the Premium Tier - which is amazing and includes both sushi + a variety of their Korean barbecue meats!! Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. Some of my personal favorites were the beef tongue, short rib finger, salmon + yellowtail carpaccio, and the salmon ponzu nigiri! Our server T - was so sweet, welcoming, and did everything to ensure that my graduation lunch was amazing! He always made sure we were tended to! We appreciate you PS - the cute claw machines are a must when you're done with your meal or waiting to be seated!

Gogi Nori is a new AYCE KBBQ and sushi restaurant that opened in Irvine. Its selling point is that you can eat both KBBQ and sushi and don't need to settle for just one or the other. We made reservations on Yelp but you can also put your name on the waitlist. They have two options: premium ($57.99) and supreme ($74.99). We got the former which included a good variety of meat, sushi, and appetizer options. They also have a ramen bar where you can make instant ramen but we stuck with the KBBQ and sushi. There is a 90 minute time limit where you can order 10 items per order. You have a 4 minute gap between orders when you can order again. We used our phone to pick our food and it came out pretty quickly for us. Out of all the KBBQ options my favorites were the LA galbi, beef bulgogi, and wagyu ribeye. Out of all the sushi options my favorites were the yuzu yellowtail, crispy rice spicy tuna, and eel. Even though you can get the best of both worlds, it did feel a little weird eating salty hot meat followed by the more subtle cold fish. One thing I liked to do was to eat the sushi while the meat was cooking to give myself a break. The supreme option had things like lobster tail and blue crab but the premium option was sufficient for our needs. Neither stood out but if you're looking for both (like we were), this place is a good option and the staff were friendly.

It's always interesting to me that this location went from being an island burger to a Korean Bbq joint then to a new Korean Bbq joint! With that said, me and my cousin decided to finally check this place out! We went on a Sunday around 2pm and was sat immediately. Definitely call ahead to accommodate parties over 8 but this place has a huge setting and will definitely work with you. Onder prepared our table and we explained to him it was our first time here and he was probably one of the best waiters I've had in a long while. He explained everything that was different between the two tier system they have here and also showed us the ramen bar and how that worked. Thanks Onder! You were awesome. The top tier menu price is 74.99 while the premium menu price is 57.99 and all were very fair prices considering all they offered. I mean all you can eat sushi and kbbq what more can you ask for?! We opted to go with the premium. You order through your phone, 5 options at a time for both the sushi and kbbq. First came out the beef tongue, beef belly, pork jowl, and ribeye. All were delicious especially the beef tongue here! The sushi order consisted of their seared items which were all awesome as well. Everything we pretty much ordered here was delicious and I had nothing to complain about. Onder made the experience even better by letting us know that they had ice cream in the end. AWESOME! Overall, I'm glad this place is still an ayce Kbbq sushi spot. The price we paid for is definitely worth it especially all the delicious meats and sushi you are able to get here. Service is top tier and arguably had one of my favorite waiters ever during my restaurant experiences. Definitely get your sushi and kbbq fix here if you have the money for it!

Our first time here with hubby and our sis and our bro. Enjoyed it! Love it, everything so delicious. Our main waiter Johnoson great service, well all the waiters were all great too and Ondre also awesome and he is in one of the pictures. Had to ask for permission before I even post anyone in any pics on any public media. The ambiance is great too. Also to mention I also look for this and not always mention it on any post, bathroom in the women is good, no sewage smell etc and clean. Please everyone is a Must try, absolutely. We will be back definitely by our selves, with families and friends to enjoy.

Gogi Nori is one of the better all you can eat spots I've been to. The quality really stands out compared to typical AYCE places. The sushi tasted fresh and they actually serve real wasabi, which is a huge plus and not something you see often. The meats were just as impressive. You can tell they use premium cuts, and the wagyu had great marbling and flavor. Everything cooked well and didn't feel overly greasy or low quality like some other KBBQ spots. What also made a difference is that it's family owned, and you can feel that there's real care put into the restaurant. Service was attentive and the overall experience felt more elevated than your usual all you can eat. I would definitely come back, especially if you're looking for a place that combines both quality sushi and Korean BBQ in one spot

We came on a Thursday at 4pm and it was really empty, there was probably only two other customers there. Tiffany was one of the managers who helped us order and get to know the menu. She was so sweet and gave a small tour of the place since it just opened 3 weeks ago. My favorite part was the ramen bar!! Such a nice touch and definitely unique for a KBBQ. I'm a pretty simple eater so I didn't order any of the marinated meats (I also have trust issues of them being too sweet). The side dishes were really good and felt fresh (not old). We ordered the beef tongue, beef belly, brisket, and pork jowl. We also got some sushi and carpaccio which were pretty good quality. We got the basic dinner menu AYCE and it was still really good. Overall, I'd give this place 5/5. The staff was attentive, the ramen bar was fun, the meats were good and the vibe was clean. Not too loud. I would bring family and friends here again!

GOGI NORI @ IRVINE This place just opened up as an AYCE KBBQ place with sushi as well, they also had a ramen bar (I wouldn't recommend to really get your moneys worth.) I like how they offer the dinner options for lunch too so you're not stuck with limited selections. The workers were really on top of things and the food came out fast, they also have ice cream available after. Overall 5/5

Had a reservation today for lunch. It was not busy at all which called for a relaxing lunch. I thought I'd be coming for the lunch special but informed that the lunch special is only available on Mon-Thursday. We opted for the premium menu on Easter Sunday. Food was great. Service was good except it was a bit slow to get some items went missing but when brought up to the staff they were attentive. Wagyu ribeye was our fav. Beef tongue always a hit. Brisket good. Enjoyed the Ikura sushi, salmon sushi, yellowtail, and jalapeño seared salmon sushi. Enjoyed the tofu soup, cheese corn and steamed egg. They have sesame oil on request. The sodas come with refills. Ice cream is offered at the enjoy of the meal. Loved that there are sushi offerings as I prefer sushi over Kbbq but everyone else enjoys meat in our party.

Gogi Nori in Irvine is a solid, middle of the road spot that gets the job done if you're craving Korean BBQ without too many frills. The quality of the meat was decent, the beef belly was our favorite. It hit that baseline of what you'd expect and the sushi was good, (seared salmon and tuna) however for the crispy rice the rice its self was not very crispy at all. Service was also pretty average. The staff was attentive enough to keep things moving, but there wasn't anything especially memorable about the experience. Everything felt smooth but the plates did feel like it took a bit to come out. Overall, it's a reliable choice if you're in the area and want something consistent without high expectations. Not a place I'd go out of my way for, but I wouldn't mind coming back if I was nearby around lunch for the lunch menu. (12-2)

If you were planning to go to Chubby Cattle or Wagyu Factory or about to blow some cash on really expensive sushi, definitely give Gogi Nori a try. It will surprise you! The Beef Quality is absolutely sensational! But the key is you gotta order from the supreme tier menu to get the best cuts of BEEF! It's all about the beef. The pork and chicken choices are like other places. But the Beef Quality, the marbling of the prime wood age Galbi, prime short ribs and boneless short rib is truly perfection. Plus the grill plates that are used, makes the meat extra tasty. You can be distracted with all the sides and appetizers like sushi nachos, gyoza, corn cheese, steamed egg but nothing beats the beef selection. The perfect pairing is the ramen bar or the kimchi fried rice. Btw, the table side brisket sauce is sooooo good and picked onions and radishes inside, sooo delicious. There is also this one time order of sushi omakase. If you eat that, you will not return to the regular sushi menu. The quality of the nigiri will absolutely melt in your mouth that filled with freshness and deliciousness. It's soooo good. The service is a little wonky but they mean well and I like the seating area and layout. Learned the cute Asian guy is the owner named Brandon. My friend would love to know if you were single.

Grand Opening! Pros: Easy to make reservations on Yelp, easy to find parking, easy to be seated, and easy to order! Staff were super friendly and attentive! Restaurant and restrooms were clean! Coffee machine, included! Instant ramen station, included! Food was solid. Cons: We got the Premium tier ($57.99/pp), and didn't know that some sushi items were limited to 2 per person. There was a MAJOR delay between ordering through the QR code and getting our items. Some of the meat came still frozen. Marinated meats were WAYYY too sweet. Most importantly, the tables were SUPER smoky and the ventilation system did not seem to work at all. Bottom line: I would prefer to either have AYCE kbbq or AYCE sushi and pay less. Great staff though!

The former because everything looked and sounded so good; the latter because it's hard to know whether you can trust what some of these foodie accounts are saying is truthful or paid for. Given how I write Yelp reviews, the irony in saying that doesn't escape me. However, now that I've been here several times, I can happily report that everything those IG accounts said was entirely true! Even though their complex isn't very large (parking is usually easy, but it can be scarce at time), Yoo's Place itself is decently large and always seems to have tables available for groups large or small. Similarly, their menu is rather extensive as well, to the point where it took us a while to figure out what we wanted to try most the first time we came here. Whether it be their appetizers, soups, stews, cold noodles, hot noodles, BBQ meats, stone pot dishes, bossam, broiled fish, galbijjim, and even omurice and Chinese dishes. In short, too many dishes for me to try before finally writing this! -- BANCHAN For the most part, all of these were great! Of the bunch, the fishcakes, kimchi, and radish were my favorites. I also like the kabocha a lot, but they sometimes slather too much mayo/sauce. -- HAEMUL PAJUN - Seafood & Green Onion Pancake As weird as it is to say, this almost came with too many goodies, as it was chock full of seafood and green onions. Definitely a nice problem to have, but I do wish there had been a bit more batter to make this crispier. -- HAEMUL KALGUKSU - Homemade Noodles with Seafood I don't get this often, so I don't know how it compares to others, but this tasted so good! The noodles had such a nice chew to them and I love that they didn't skimp on the seafood. Plus, the portion is large enough where you could easily stretch this into two meals! -- SEOLLEONG TANG - Ox Bone Soup Similar to the Haemul Kalguksu, this was one hearty bowl of soup! The broth was rich and beefy, there were several large chunks of meat, and there was a lot of noodles in this. Plus, I liked that they also included a lot of veggies and strips of eggs, too. -- DAKNALGAE TWIGIM - Deep Fried Chicken Wings Despite falling a bit short of what we hoped for, this was still pretty solid. While the portion initially seemed light (only about eight wings), each piece was HUGE, the batter was crispy, and the chicken itself was juicy. I just wish it had been a little more flavorful. -- LA GALBI & (SUKEO) SOON TOFU COMBO - Marinated Beef Short Rib and Seafood & Beef Soon Tofu Soup The LA Galbi was great - meaty, well marinated, tender, lightly charred, and the portion was sizable for a combo. As for the Soon Tofu, it was terrific! The tofu soup was rich and hearty, had a good mix of beef and seafood, and was just so comforting. -- JAJANG MYUN - Noodles with Black Bean, Pork, Cream Sauce Maybe it's because I haven't had a legit Korean Jajang Myun in ages, but this was pretty good! The noodles were perfect and I love how it came loaded with plenty of pork and onions. The sauce had a bit of an aftertaste to it, but I still liked this. -- KODUNGAE - Broiled Mackerel This was delicious! Compared to the one we had at BCD, this one was deboned better and was just as big, if not bigger. Plus, not only was it still really moist, but the mackerel still had some crispy edges, too. -- KALBIJJIM - Braised Short Ribs While I do wish this had more chili peppers in this (it was really yellow), the taste of this was still awesome. More importantly, there was a fair amount of short ribs, which were so tender and meaty, along with rice noodles, glass noodles, cheese, and vegetables. SO GOOD! -- NAENGMYUN - Sliced Beef & Vegetables over Noodles with Spicy Sauce This was on the house (possibly from ordering the kalbijjim) and, even though it might have been a scaled down version of the dish, this was still so good! The noodles had the perfect chew, there was just a touch of heat, and the overall flavors were amazing! In addition to the food, the service here is fantastic. All of the workers are super friendly and the kitchen gets dishes out very quickly. What's more, the workers will happily refill any banchan dishes and every table comes with a small thermos of beef bone broth that is just so PERFECTLY DELICIOUS! Even when it's hot out, it still hits the spot - it's just so warm and comforting! Honestly, it's one of my favorite things at Yoo's Place! With so many options in Irvine and around the rest of OC, I know there may very well be better places than Yoo's Place, especially when it comes to a specific dish. However, I can't imagine that Yoo's Place isn't among the best of the bunch. At the very least, it's the best I've tried thus far and I wouldn't hesitate to keep coming back even as I try more places in OC!

There is nobody else standing in line outside and the owner comes outside to tell me 2 times that I need to wait 30-40 minutes. I told her there is no waiting in front of me, and that it should be first come, first serve. She says no, you can only sit on tables for 1 person and it will be a 30-40 min wait for that. I said okay, but if there is no line and people are done eating with empty tables it should be fine, right? There is a waitlist, and that it should go in order. She said no, you can only get seated on tables for 1. Then she proceeded to say it's a 30-40 min wait again as if I didn't already know that for the second time. I told her i'd wait, but now i'm feeling bad and don't know if she even cares to earn my business. It's my 5th time coming here, and unfortunately this place was one of my favorite Korean restaurants and since I'm from out of town I make sure to visit each time I am in the OC. I'm not sure if I want to continue coming back here if service remains this way. It's embarrassing enough to come alone, it's even worse when you're called out in front of people inside of the restaurant while there are only 3 people waiting outside. When I got seated she didn't even give me a menu and asked me what I wanted. Lucky for her i'm Korean and was already a repeat customer from the early days so I was able to order right away-otherwise how could I order? God forbid I ask for any recommendations on the menu... 1 star well deserved for this. Congratulations this is the first time I rated a fellow Korean restaurant 1 star. There is a first time for everything I suppose.

Today I went…read morewith the back rib soup, and it was sizzling hot, with tender beef that practically fell off the bones. I really enjoyed the glass noodles in the soup, and all of the banchan dishes that came out were fresh, flavorful, and a great complement to the meal. The staff were friendly, and we got seated right away, which made for a smooth experience. The ambiance has a contemporary feel, making it a comfortable spot for both casual meals and a slightly elevated dining vibe.

First, parking wasn't bad. The shopping center isn't that big but it's not a busy center so I don't think it'll ever be an issue. The restaurant itself was clean and simple. Very mom and pop vibe. They have a good amount of seating. Restroom was very clean. Service was good, I had no issues. Please be patient with the staff as English is not some of their dominant languages. Staff was trying their best to help everyone. They were constantly checking in on us, refilling our Banchan, I thought they did great. Food was yummy and portions were huge! My friend and I shared the crispy garlic tofu. That was fresh and hot and not greasy! I enjoyed it! She had the Garlic Seolleongtang and she loved it. You saw the chunks of garlic, they were generous on the meat and the bowl was huge. I had beef spicy tofu soup and that was delicious and so filling. They were extremely generous on the tofu and I felt like I definitely got my protein intake in. The spice was just right, it looks so red but it wasn't that bad! I would definitely come back. It's a mom and pop shop I would support. I think it's underlooked and needs appreciation. My husband is from Irvine so we'll definitely be back next time we're in town visiting family.

The menu can be a little confusing but you get the gist of it. I tried the ox bone soup which comes with rice and some glass noodles. At $23.99, the price point was steep for the portion. I've gotten this for cheaper elsewhere for a similar taste.

It's now Tang N Tang x Namsan. We went a few weeks back when they were trailing 2 weeks of Nam San…read moreand reduced the menu options from their old Tang N Tang menu. During that visit, I wasn't able to get the rice cake beef dumplings soup that I usually get here, so I opted for my other go to, which was Galbi Tang and it was not filling at all due to the smaller portion and how the bone-in beef was much shorter thN the usual size it came in before. The beef was also chewy and not soft nor tender. Noodles inside the soup was barely there, too. Husband got their stone pot rice with bulgogi and also wasn't full at the end of the meal. We decided to give it a break and try again a month later. We ordered: Galbi Tang $23.99 (deboned beef soup) and Yukdaejang $20.99 (requested no egg for both). The Galbi Tang had 5 big chunks of beef deboned and was quite tender and juicy! So glad they improved on that dish portion. The flavor of the broth was still the same as well. Hubby's yukaejang was also the best tasting to him compared to other places. Overall, we left happy, full, and very satisfied this time. Hopefully they don't completely get rid of their Tang N Tang side! Moreover, I'd be more excited if they can bring back the rice cake beef dumplings soup or even all veggies dumplings would be perfect, too!
