Parking lot packed when the jackpot is high!
    Paul P.

Folks here are always helpful and friendly. Depending on the "jackpot" defines the lines. Arrive early generally helps avoid that. The line is for folks who want personalized service. If you want to buy lotto tickets enter through the side door to use the machines. Cash only, ATM is available on site. There is ice cream & sodas for sale. Generally clean and well maintained.

Quality/Quantity - This was my buddy's "go to" place for breakfast every morning before skiing. But they increased the price by $1 so we stopped coming, lol. Our "go to" breakfast was in the Sierra Cafe. They used to have pancakes, eggs, bacon/sausage, hash browns, etc. for only like $5-6 bucks. Atmosphere - Convenient in and out location. Casino, RV resort, gas station, etc. Open 24 hours. Plenty of parking in the back, but we have never had an issue getting a space up front either. Service - Good. We usually just go to the cafe. I have not used any of the other services. Nor have I gambled here. Price - Depends on what you buy/drink. Or depends on how much you gamble. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success with your 8-10+ locations...?

HUGE French Toast serving; very good. Bacon was typical/ greasy

First time here for convenience of being close to the border. Came into restaurant right as they opened at 8am on a Sunday. Seated right away, food came out little over 10 mins later. Good portion sizes for breakfast and the price. Very basic, but still yummy and waitresses were very nice. I have to dox a star for the women's restroom being closed as we came in, especially with who roams around the small casino. But still will return!

It's my reliable breakfast stop when I stay near Reno. It's easy to park, get in the restaurant & order. During the pandemic they're wearing masks & keeping things spotless. I was seated quickly, had coffee within 2 minutes, ordered right away & was delivered a tasty breakfast of ham, eggs & hash browns within 5 minutes of ordering. I'll keep coming back!

On our fist trip to do a little fishing at Stampede. We had all the gear ready and just needed ice. As always lots of people getting gas to go back to Ca.

This time I'm here with my crew that I met up with in Sacramento on our way on 80 East heading towards Salt Lake City. This is gonna be a long drive but it beats flying with 5 people and all the gear we carry. WE pull into Sasquatch and go in. We get a table in the middle of the room. The inside looks just like it always did with that Sasquatch statue standing there. The service is super friendly and we all order drinks. No beer this time, we're all on the road and some of us gotta drive. I decide to get something different this time, the steamed clams. My guys get 2 of the steak sandwiches, one gets fish and chips and the one other girl on the crew gets a chicken salad of some sort. The food arrives in a decent amount of time. My clams look delicious, though I thought the clams were on the small side, but there were a lot of them. The steak sandwiches looked good as usual as did the fish and chips. Next time I think I might go back to the steak sandwich. The clams really didn't fill me up, but I got some fries off one of the guys. Sasquatch is still on my list of best places to stop to eat when traveling the 80 near Reno.

The French dip sandwich was salty, with very little meat, and the onion rings were burned almost black and also very salty, almost to the point of being unpalatable. My husband's chili was good. He said, "My grandson's cheese pizza looked good, but was like a hard, chewy piece of cardboard," and I tasted it, and I agree. They had been here once before for dinner, dine-in, about eight months ago, and I was pretty pleased. Not sure if the times are tough, or if they've had a change in style, but the food has really gone downhill. It's very sad to see if that's the case because it seems like any place that opens in the village at Somersett doesn't do very well. Who knows what the reason is. All I know is that I spent $60 on food that I ended up mostly throwing away because it was unpalatable. That's not good in this day and age.

I had the grinder sandwich and ate every single bite because it was so delicious. The crack and crumble of the bread was like a banh mi sandwich but filled with Italian ingredients. The only downside is their space is a bit tight for the amount of business they bring in and timing is essential to enjoy your experience here if you can grab a seat at the right time. We typically order from the bar portion of the menu at water bar/ short rib tacos, tenderloin burgers, cobb salad etc and those options are very good but we decided to try out the top end of the menu and it was pretty good but not great. Bacon wrapped Filet was under seasoned. and didn't have a great sear on it like really good steakhouses do. I felt like the sauce/gravy and mashed potatoes carried the flavor on the dish and the meat didn't have a savory flavor and you really needed the sauce because the meat alone would've been mediocre. Luckily the sauce and potatoes were tasty and the dish was overall good. Seasoning that steak top and bottom and a proper searing would take it from good to great!! 7.5/10 My wife ordered the halibut and it was pretty good but not great. A little dry , needed a little more seasoning and love to be a great dish. Risotto was just an uninteresting glob of goo with no flavor. When you pay 54$ for a fish dish , you expect it to be really good....... i'd say the halibut was 6/10 - room for improvement . Great location with lake views and the pier and marina right there. Love that they had tables on the pier, the location definitely elevates the experience !! 10/10 Mocha ice cream cake/ mud pie dessert is awesome , one of my favorites at the water bar....... Next visit to Gar Woods I will stick to burgers , salads and short rib tacos but the location makes it worth eating here no matter what you order but i feel like the 25-30$ offerings are tastier and you get more bang for your buck!!! Our server was friendly and efficient. He has been with the company for more than ten years and his professionalism along with his personality made him top notch. I wish I could say the same about the food consistency. We both started out with their signature drink - the Wet Woody. This drink is very tasty. My husband ordered the Ahi Tuna fish of the day. It was blackened and seared rare. It was perfectly cooked and tasty. It came with wasabi mashed potatoes and an arugula salad. The potatoes were good but the salad was overdressed. I ordered the chicken Cobb salad. The salad was mixed greens along with olives, blue cheese, bacon, an egg, avocado, cucumber, tomato, and balsamic vinaigrette. Again, the salad was overdressed and the ingredients were rather scarce. The chicken was on skewers. The chicken was rubbery, dry and tough - so much so, I had to wrestle them off the skewers. I ended up taking one bite and not eating the rest. I had a strawberry milkshake to go for dessert. That was delicious. We have been coming here for years but will likely not make the drive again. Their sister restaurant, Rivas Grill, is much more consistently good. If I could, I would rate a 3.5.

The only downfall was I wish it was a bit hotter for my liking but regardless it was perfect. The brisket one meat platter with mac n cheese and mashed potatoes was full of yumminess.
