First things first. Customer service was amazing. Quick, kind, attentive, and accommodating. The food is also really good. I highly recommend the cold noodles, seafood pancake, and galbi. However everything else was really good as well. This place deserves a visit if you're in the area.

Situated in a revamped KFC location, Gold Spoon is small but mighty-- we were surprised how the tiny kitchen could cook for all the tables (and handle washing so many plates). It was solid meal in a casual setting :) ** Chive pancake-- really liked this one! Crispy edges with a hot almost gooey interior. The chives add a little brightness and almost sweetness. I didn't even need the dipping sauce, which MT said just tasted like soy sauce. ** Boiled sliced pork / bossam-- the medium size is big enough to share for two and beautifully presented. Wrap a slice up in lettuce, add some of the soybean sauce and kimchi or veggies, and you got yourself a delicious bite! I'm not a bossam expert, but this was really tender for lean pork. There's a strip of fat/skin that makes it melt-in-your mouth, but it still tender even if you separate that part off. ** LA short ribs / kalbi-- marinated well and flavorful. I thought it was a little too salty, and MT thought it was a little too glazed/sweet. The meat quality was good but not LA level. Tasty nonetheless! Service was friendly and helpful, coming often to replace the water pitcher or ask if we wanted refills for the side dishes. Come earlier or make a reservation, since the space is small. Happy to have tried Gold Spoon-- their bossam set the bar high!

I'm always on the look out for some good Korean food, and this spot was a hit! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior is small and cozy, and there was no wait on a Sunday during lunchtime.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The seafood scallion pancake was a must, and I will say that I've had better seafood pancakes at other Korean spots, but this was still solid (I'd give it a 4 out of 5-the batter was slightly slightly underdone in my opinion.) The banchan was fresh and flavorful, and there are free refills on everything besides the tofu. The beef intestine soup was so delicious! I haven't had hearty Korean soup in a while, so this was perfect on a cooler day. There was a good amount of intestines and tripe, and I loved that it was kept hot and bubbling on the gas burner. The flavor was great, and it was the perfect amount of spiciness to enhance all the meaty flavors of the soup. (Also a 4 out of 5 for the dish--I thought it was just missing something that I couldn't put my finger on.) I do think it was a bit on the pricier end too, with tax and tip, those two items ended up being about $100. But I will say the experience was great :)

I have been craving bibimbap for a month and finally decided to find a korean restaurant near by. We walked into a space that looked to have previously been used as a fast food restaurant and was seated. They provided water, and all the ute sils required already at the booth. For food, I got bibimbap and my partner ordered the Galbi, and we got the seafood pancake to share. When they started bringing out the sides, we took a bite of the kimchi and immediately knew, this was going to be excellent. The food was fantastic, service immaculate. We enjoyed everything we got and left so satisfied. Looking forward to returning in the near future.

I ate at Gold Spoon recently and was very pleased. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is clean and decor is nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The dining area is small but did not feel cramped.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered the beef bulgogi and asked them to make it spicy. They served banchan first, as is expected. The small dishes were good, but not exceptional, although I particularly enjoyed pickled peppers (top left dish in my picture). The bulgogi was served hot and fresh, and was full of flavor. That flavor became increasingly spicy (per my request) as I ate. I was not disappointed. The service was quick, efficient, and polite. No issues whatsoever. Gold Spoon didn't disappoint but it did not stand much above other Korean spots. I'll need to visit again to get a better sense of what makes them standout.

Food here was delish! It was my first time trying bossam and it was so good. I loved how the meat was prepared. The galbi is also a must try. Service was amazing and i would definitely come back!

This place can be a little pricey but the food is good and the portions are large. We got the budae jjigae, seafood pajeon, and grilled pork belly. The army stew came in a large pot and was boiled on a portable stove at the table. It was incredibly filling, spicy, and flavorful. It comes with two types of noodles, rice cakes, sausage, spam, tofu, and some vegetables--very hearty! The samgyeopsal came out sizzling and went very well with the sauce they prepared. The seafood pancake was thick, but still crispy on the edges. They also gave lots of banchan and were very generous with refilling. The waitresses here are Korean aunties and they're so nice and welcoming!

Delicious and really friendly service. Banchan are plentiful and refilled - faves were the kimchi. I loved the short rib soup - clear soup and tender short ribs. I didn't love the bossam to be honest, but the pancake was awesome and crispy!

Finally got to try Gold Spoon and very glad we did! We came in for a random lunch and ordered the Bibimbap and the Spicy Pork to share. With the banchan, a small soup and a bowl or rice with the pork dish, we had more than enough food for the two of us. Service is UNBEATABLE!! We Stan Queen Esther! She was incredibly kind and funny and very attentive! Been going to Gold Spoon for quite some time. Their bossam is the best!! I also love their beef soondubu; it's so different than any other soondubu I've tried. Very flavorful, & not only has spice but a lot of depth to the broth. The service is AMAZING!! I love Esther when she was working; the new manager Sam is wonderful, he is so kind & attentive, making sure his customers are happy with their meals!! The restaurant has that nice pocha vibe, and is open late, which I love!! I have brought so many friends here, & I hope to bring more people to try Gold Spoon's amazing food!! read more

The food and service were delicious. We came on 4 May 2024 during the rain. It was pretty empty and we were greeted by a friendly lady. She got us settled down and joked about the water being the finest water in town. My friends and I got the LA Galbi, Bossam, Braised Pork, Mussel Soup, and Kimchi Squid Pancake. All were delicious. For 6 people, these were more than enough. The lady that took our order recommended a lot of food for us but we just chose the alternatives since I'm allergic to shrimp. She also mentioned that they recently opened (5 months ago) and I'm impressed. The food quality and quantity were incredible. The pancake was thicker than other places but I'm fine with it. It was crispy on all sides and squid was the right satisfying bounce texture. Definitely will go here again. read more

Best water in town! Came here to see queen Esther, who was the sweetest waitress in town. That's what she claimed after he was true food was Korean food with a slight departure into a welcomed area such as chili base stew, and a selection of delicious side dishes. read more

SOO GOOD I loved the banchan and the service was great. Food came out hot and fresh and we got the seafood pancake which was gas it is very different from those that I have tried which it was thicker than all the other I have tried. The bossam was really good and fresh!! It was not dry like most place. The seafood and beef Sundubu was good and flavorful. The bulgogi & mushroom hot pot was okay, too sweet for me but my brother loved it. The seafood pancake was crunchy however it would be much better if there were more seafood and not just mainly flour. And the stir fry beef and bean sprouts was ok but I think it's kinda overpriced for so little beef and mostly green onions and bean sprouts. Give it a try once and see it for yourself. read more

Omg! This place is so good!! We came to try the famous Korean Army Stew and Seafood pancake. Both are great here! The menu is not extensive but there's no need. Every table is ordering the same things. The banchan is good and flavorful. Army stew consists of the typical Korean soup with everything in it including ramen, sausage, hot dog, spam, pork belly, meatball, rice cake, kimchi, mushroom, Napa cabbage, zucchini, and tofu. The dish definitely serves an army (~4-6)! Service is awesome! Mira is so nice and helpful! Seems like she's the only person to take orders, deliver food, and do everything! She is always checking in on the table and making sure that we like everything. She is quick around the restaurant. Looks like a place for many locals as they are all ordering in Korean with Mira. Gold spoon has become a new favorite of ours for Korean food. The portion sizes are ideal for large groups eating family style and the side dishes are another plus as they offer refills on them. We got the bossam, ttekboki, seafood pancake, and soybean paste soup, which were all delicious and the perfect amount of food for 5 people. At the end of the meal, they even brought out a complimentary cinnamon sweet drink that was a refreshing way to cap it all off. Overall the food and service are unmatched and we'll be coming back again very soon! read more

Absolutely lovely restaurant. Had the best experience, ordered the Short rib entree which must be the best short rib in town. Before the main came out, all of the traditional Korean side dishes came before the meal. All of the sides were fantastic. The service was fantastic, and I really enjoyed the ambiance as well. "Fire, straight fire," said my husband as he stuffs our second serving of banchan into his mouth. We decided to come to this new eatery to expand outside the usual recommended restaurants in Carrollton. And we are so glad we did! This little gem is cozy with friendly Queen Esther as our host and server. She recommended the pork neckbone soup and it was DELICIOUS. There was about 10 different kinds of banchan and all of them delectable. I always say if I had to eat one cuisine for the rest of my life, it'd be Korean food. After moving here from the San Francisco Bay Area, we have been building our list of usual haunts, and this definitely makes the list. read more

A must go restaurant if you have not try it !! Their food are awesome!! We ordered their seafood pancake , it was so crispy served on the hot grill pan. Pancake served with the right texture without tasting too much of starch and it was full of fresh seafoods and onion. We also ordered their "seafood hotpot " , it was the best soup base with lots of crabs, prawns , squid, vegetables and also noodle. The portion was huge which easily can feed 2-4 people, we just could not stop enjoying it, it was Super yummy !! A must order dish especially if you have 2 or more pax. Of course, a meal cannot go without the Makgeolli! It was such a great complementary with the hotpot. In addition, their side dishes were so fresh and made everyday. My husband and I always love coming into Carrollton. Today was a special treat since we live so far away now. I was craving a good filling stew and Gold Spoon hit the spot! Esther was very sweet and welcoming. She sat us down at one of their hotpot tables and went over the menu with us. We ordered their recommend special Army Stew. It's enough to feed 4 people, we ended up leaving leftovers but that's no complaint because the food was so good! We added 떡볶이 a perfect choice! My husband and I are also learning Korean. First the cons: I noticed all of the things I generally don't care for at any AYCE sushi place. The ginger/wasabi was the low-quality kind you find everywhere, the cocktails I ordered were terrible (just stick with beer) and some of the pieces we ordered were not consistent. But I was expecting that going in and so was prepared. Pros: the food was all pretty decent. The only times I really eat sushi rolls is when I'm at a place like this, so we ordered one to get our mayo intake for the month and the rest were sashimi or nigiri pieces. Pepper in some hot appetizers and we left feeling extremely full and satisfied. One thing that I really did love was the presentation. It makes it feel a lot fancier when the food comes out on a wooden boat serving platter than on little plates so brownie points for that. I will say that we ordered pretty much the same thing from round one and two, but the first round was definitely had more of the higher quality pieces (fattier pieces, smoked this and that, etc.) but I get it. Can't serve all of the premo stuff each time. We will definitely be back. And also, a shout out to the amazing staff. I think we had no less than four people come by our table to check up on us or to serve us.

the service is great, really helpful and friendly. The fish cake soup is delicious light and perfect for a cold night. definitely recommend!
