My husband and I visited the Anderson In. location on Wednesday, June 19th. It was horribly disappointing. First, it was so hot in that building you could hardly breathe! Let alone eat. I was pouring sweat the entire visit. I used most of the napkins wiping sweat off my forehead! My husband could hardly eat because the heat was making him nauseous. We had 4 glasses of water trying to cool down. After we both had one plate, then i asked for the manager. He was very rude and lied straight to my face. I heard many people complaining, but he told me I was the first to complain??? He said this while he was dripping with sweat and had wet marks on his shirt. I know it had to be over 80 in that building! It was cooler outside, and we had a heat advisory today! I asked the manager if we could get the rest of our food to go. He said no and there is nothing he can do, it's company policy. I am pretty sure having the air conditioning working on one of the hottest days of the year is policy too? If not it should be! I have NEVER been to a business where the air conditioning was not working properly. It needs to be shut down till it is fixed! I was told that when the workers complain about the heat, they are simply told, "McDonalds is hiring???" Every worker in that building was sweating. It is an unsafe work environment. Nobody should have to work in that environment. My waitress was very kind and kept the water coming. She was very hot too, but she tried her best to keep us as comfortable as possible. I left her a 10$ tip. But I told her, it was for HER and her work. I would not have left a tip if it wasn't for her! The manager was very condescending, dishonest, and disrespectful. He literally told our waitress "It must not be that hot, their eating?!?!" behind our backs, TOTAL JERK That man should not be in an authority position. We drove 45 min. From Dunkirk In. to visit Golden Corral, of course we still ate. WE PAID FOR IT! In these hard financial times going out to eat is definitely a treat, so I made my husband finish eating. The GM was RUDE. We got there and they were getting ready for lunch. I asked if they were pulling breakfast and he said yes. Since I knew my husband was looking forward to the breakfast, I started getting some gravy for his biscuits. The gentleman behind the Buffet grabbed the spoon out of my hand and walked to the other end of the Buffet and put it in the gravy. The food was good, wide variety of breakfast and lunch items. My wife and I visited the Anderson, IN, location and asked to purchase 2 senior dinner buffets and one Coke.  Our 23 year old daughter (who has Down syndrome) accompanied us and was not going to eat (only drink the Coke we were purchasing).  This has been our practice for years as she has oral sensory issues and has a very limited diet.  The cashier charged her for an adult buffet even though we emphasized she was not going to eat and the waitress would be able to verify that.  He went and got the manager who then informed us that no one is allowed to enter the restaurant without paying for a meal.  We explained that this is our practice regardless of where we take her because she doesn't eat any of the food whatsoever.  The cashier then spoke up and said "I've never heard of something like that - it would be different if she had a tube or something."  We then asked for a full refund and took our business elsewhere.  Needless to say, we will not return to the Anderson, IN, location.  I HIGHLY recommend your company post the policy of the requirement to pay to walk in the door (even when someone isn't or more specifically can't eat) and also provide training to your management and employees on disability awareness and discrimination. read more

The woman should NOT be working if she doesn't do anything but stand and say I don't speak. Give the job to someone that speaks English and is willing to help. Absolutely the worst service I've ever experienced! There was absolutely no meat on the bar at 6:30p.m. No one running the steak or ham station. When I talked to management I was told they would be glad to refund me and I could leave after spending $60. Not to say we wouldn't have stayed and waited but a little more compassion would have been nice. When asked about a discount was told that wasn't part of there policy! I will be to call corporate tomorrow. We go atleast once a week for our family outing dinner and have never been treated like this or seen the bar look this awful read more
