We finally decided to try Golden Corral and were very disappointed. The only reason for the two-star rating is the staff member clearing tables, who was friendly and efficient. Unfortunately, the food quality was poor overall. The fried chicken was the only somewhat acceptable item, but it was excessively oily. The salad bar was especially disappointing--limited in options and not fresh-looking. The interior felt dated and cafeteria-like, with an overall unclean impression. Based on this experience, we won't be returning.

Had a great experience dining at this location. Friendly staff, delicious food. I ordered the lobster special and it was delicious! Brought my son for his graduation dinner and they made it special for us.

We come here every year for Thanksgiving. Their turkey is fresh and carved to order. It's juicy and moist. The staff are very nice and patient on this very hectic and crowded day. It's very noisy in here and the line can get very long but they keep the food flowing, the tables clean and the floors swept. Thank you to the hard working employees here for the amazing job and great food. Steaks are still grilled to order and they still have the waffle bar and other carved meats with fresh desserts as well. Can't wait to return next year. If we lived closer we would come here more often. Great price for their Thanksgiving buffet, $26.98 for all you can eat. Drink not included.

HORRIBLE experience. GREAT SERVICE!! $60+ for 5 bites of disgusting food, pie tasted like a wet dog, sweet potatoes looked 6 days old and were hard??? the service was okay i guess they dropped a nasty napkin and 7 different servers and the manger walked past it several times looking at it but wouldn't pick it up. don't come here if you want an actual meal for what your paying. Also the inside looks like you're stuck in the back rooms. Everything is sad and grey.. much like the food. Also the woman's bathroom spelled like a sewer burst.. We walked out and came back in because we were so upset with the food and they gave us a refund. I appreciate them for that and hearing us out as customers! I'm sorry I didn't catch your name sir but thank you! Side note: 4 years of marriage and it's the first time i've ever seen my husband spit out food.. EDIT: 30 minutes after my husband puked in the parking lot do. not. eat. here. save yourself and you wallet please if you disregard all other reviews, please listen to this one. he 100% has food poisoning.

This is a family friendly AYCE buffet with a salad bar and dessert station. We got there when it opened so it wasn't too crowded yet. It's very open with plenty of indoor seating. The staff had wonderful customer service. There's so much variety, something for everyone. I would suggest checking out all of their offerings before choosing. I like that they have both baked potatoes and sweet potatoes. They have breakfast options as well, like pancakes and French toast. They can also make an omelette for you. My least favorite was the taco station; the meat was cold. The steak burger seemed like it had too much bread. Loved the veggie options, Bourbon Street Chicken and stir fry. There's a large variety of desserts. Loved the banana bread! Very moist! With buffets like this, some things are a hit and some are a miss. But, overall, it's tasty and a great value for AYCE. Come hungry!!

But today I wanted something a little different and found this place. In addition to the big honking pieces of perfectly breaded chicken, they had some delicious red beans and rice on the side as well. The fries were okay--seasoned pretty well and not super thick or thin--and the cornbread was pretty decent as well. But the real draw is that unbelievable chicken. I was a lot disappointed that they didn't have fountain drinks despite having a machine. It doesn't feel like a satisfying meal unless I have access to adequate soda or juice. Part of me believes that more and more restaurants disconnect their fountain drinks to stick it to you with cans and bottles of soda each time you get thirsty while eating. And this pretty much guarantees this will never become a regular spot because it's irritating to be super thirsty but not wanting to haul your ass to the register to purchase another semi-cold van of soda. The service was okay, if a little sparse. My server only checked on me two times--once to drop off the food and to check on me when I looked obviously about to pass out from dehydration. The space is nice too with a lot of booths for my liking. Like some mom-and-pop places there was a lone fly buzzing while I was trying to eat dinner but that could be an aberration. It was also hinky that I was the only customer dining in. I was starting to think the food wouldn't be all that spectacular or mentionable. But I was glad to be mistaken. Maybe if they ever fix the fountain drinks I'd come back. But without that it's just no kosher to be constantly of thirst and have to pay for 3 or 4 cans of soda to satiate it. It's not worth it.

She was incredibly attentive and accommodating, especially since we were dining with a toddler. That level of service definitely made the meal even more enjoyable. For dinner, we ordered the Ribs & Two Meat Combo with Memphis Ribs, Jalapeño Cheddar Smoked Sausage, and Brisket, plus the Chicken & Two Meat Combo with Brisket, Original Smoked Sausage, and Southern Fried Chicken. Our daughter had the BBQ Chicken Kids Meal, and of course we couldn't leave without ordering the Cast Iron Cornbread. Everything was delicious, but a few items really stood out. The jalapeño jam served with the cornbread was absolute perfection, sweet with just the right amount of heat. The Jalapeño Cheddar Smoked Sausage was easily one of my favorites. The Southern Fried Chicken was incredibly crispy, and both my toddler and I couldn't get enough of the mac and cheese. Gus's offers great value for the quality of food you get. The portions are generous and we had no complaints when it came to flavor. Parking is easy thanks to the nearby parking structure. Most of the seating is on the patio, while the indoor dining room seemed fairly small. Even on a warm Father's Day evening, the outdoor seating was surprisingly comfortable. We'll definitely be back, and next time I'll be ordering that cornbread all over again.

5/1/2026 Been so…read morelong since I've had a pan roast! I thought there weren't any more places that make pan roasts, but happy to have found one in Chino Hills! HOUSE PAN ROAST It tasted exactly what was expected. A creamy tomato soup consistency and flavor. Got level 2 or 3 for spice level. I wanted more of that creamy flavor, not spice. Any higher than 3 would be Tabasco level spice and up. Deliciously filled with shrimp, chopped scallops, small crab meat. I could taste the crab meat, which was all sitting at the bottom of the bowl. The scoop of jasmine rice with the creamy pan roast was comfort on another level. Got the small size, but it is enough for me. I do wish there were more shrimp and scallops and crab in the pan roast. I felt the scallops and crab were chopped too small and wished there was a bit more. But still I enjoyed the pan roast and would get it again. As an appetizer and accompaniment to the house pan roast, they bring a basket with three sliced breads and a side of butter. It's a light, soft bread with a bit of sour flavor. Didn't like it. I would have preferred dinner rolls. CUSTOMER SERVICE I arrived 1 hr before lunch closing time. It closes at 2:00pm and then re-opens for dinner at 5:00pm. But service was good! Only one server, but she checked back with everyone and all around better than most places I've been at recently. Lots of people came in 30-40 mins before closing time. Still, service was friendly and they weren't turned away. LOCATION At The Commons at Chino Hills. This is a large outdoor mall and have many parking spaces.

Hey Jackson, Instead…read moreof giving me an imaginary prize for being relentless, I would much rather appreciate your business taking accountability for the really poor service I had to experience in order to get a basic refund as a result of a mistake that was clearly from your restaurant. I can definitely be more upfront about my dietary needs moving forward when ordering, but even your employee admitted over the phone that chicken is not automatically part of the item that I ordered. If your staff wanted to add chicken to an item that should be seafood only, perhaps they should have asked if I was okay with that. After communicating with your employee about my concerns, I realized that the mistake on the food was secondary compared to the horrendous service I experienced when I shared my concerns. In your reply, you failed to mention anything regarding customer service that I mentioned, so let me say these facts again. I was hung up on several times over the phone, ignored multiple times when I showed up in person the next day, pressured to sign a claims release in order to get the refund, then was told I was an inconvenience to your business. Another fact is I lost my appetite after tasting your food yet was essentially called a liar when I came in the next day because I didn't appear sick to your employee. I cannot believe that is how your employee was allowed to treat a customer and I honestly hope you had a serious conversation with them. For the record, I was signed out of my main account for several months and did leave a review on a temporary account. Once I gained access to my main account, the review on my temporary account got deleted because that account got deleted. I operate on only one account and needed to re-write any reviews that got deleted. Looks like someone reported my review for your business, so I did revise it to better follow yelp's guidelines. Therefore, it is absolutely not an exact duplicate of the previous review. The real impact here is not only the loss of appetite, but also how I was treated after I raised concerns. It really was one of the most horrendous experience with restaurant staff. I will never again feel comfortable stepping inside your restaurant that is careless enough to scoop an item that was already made with chicken in it instead of making a fresh one with only seafood then try to pressure a customer to sign a claims release to protect yourselves. Nice try, but I'm not falling for that and neither should anyone else.

Staff is always nice and knowledgeable. We normally bring our wine and just have it corked there, but last time we were here, we enjoyed their selection as well. We love the interior with all the brick and lowered lighting. Provides a little more intimate of a setting. We actually came on my birthday in April (sorry the review is so late), but the staff all signed a birthday card for me and left confetti on the table. Nice touch. The food. We had the lava shrimp to start and of course the freshly baked loaf. I can't say anything bad. It's all fresh and the flavors are amazing. I got the venison chops cooked rare. Wow. First time I've had venison like this, and man. The presentation was cool. Waiter brought it out covered in glass and opened up the container in front of me so I could see the smoke leave the plate. She got the surf and turf, which is always nice. Steak cooked perfectly, lobster cooked perfectly, potatoes with the brown butter were delicious. As a visual person, it did hamper the ambiance for me, especially since I was sitting right next to it. We were the only table that wasn't a couple, and even when it got more crowded, the noise level was pleasantly low. Our server asked us how we felt about salt, which was very much appreciated. AMARETTO SOUR: 3/5. Very sweet, and orange-forward which is a new flavor profile for this cocktail for me. BREAD & WHIPPED BUTTER: 5/5. Served warm. The bread was pillowy soft, and the butter, (which was more air than butter and therefore definitely zero calories), was delightfully salty. BRUSSELS SPROUTS: 5/5. I've been burned by so many poorly done sprouts that I don't order them anymore, but my partner wanted to try it and I'm so glad we got them. Zero bitterness, and crispier than an newly minted dollar bill. OCTOPUS: 5/5. Grilled to perfection, soft, not rubbery. The spices in the romesco sauce were aromatic and punchy. STEAK TARTARE: 4/5. Good. These crostinis were the most crostinis to have ever crostinied. The perfect vessel for the rich steak. MUSHROOM SOUP: 5/5. This is the first time I've found balance between being truffle-forward without being overbearing. Usually I'm done after about two spoonfuls, but all 3 bowls (shared between 6 of us) were cleaned. SURF & TURF: 5/5. Owen's checks internal and external temperature, which means steak is cooked true to the way it's ordered. More impressive is that they didn't overcook the lobster. A moment for the gorgeous blue plates; they are heirlooms, and only 7 of them exist in the world. CHILEAN SEA BASS: 4/5. For me, the radish did a lot of heavy lifting in balancing out the saltiness of the soy vinaigrette and richness of the fish itself. STEAK FRITES: 4/5. Again, perfectly cooked steak. I only had one fry, and I thought it was a damn good fry, but my partner did say it eventually got salty. And he loves his salt. CAMPING TRIP: 5/5. The crust on the salmon, the theatrics of the hot rock, the fresh veggies. It's a classic for a reason. MAITAKE MUSHROOM: 4/5. While it was good, I didn't find myself continuously reaching for more, as I nearly always do with mushrooms. ROBUCHON POTATOES: 5/5. AKA indulgent, buttery velvet. A labor of love well received. STRAWBERRY TART: 5/5. While the strawberries were phenomenal, the vanilla (?) custard was a little heavy for me. My mom inhaled it though. CRÈME BRÛLÉE: 5/5. So good. I don't know when it became normalized to serve crème with an Ozempic-thin layer of brûlée, but thank you Owen's for not doing that.
