Golden House is fantastic. The service is always impeccable, and the food is excellent. I love that they have an option for everyone: meat, vegetarian, they can even omit oil if you're avoiding it. As I am gluten free having a Chinese restaurant that uses gluten free soy sauce in their cooking is the best! There is nothing I can not eat there except the pork which is made with regular soy sauce. Their hot and sour soup was the first time I could eat it as it is usually off the gf list. Absolutely impressed with this place!!! The option of no oil is fabulous, the staff are so hospitable and you can definitely tell they care about there restaurants success and there customer loyalty! The food were smaller portions than other places I've been but also a lot cheaper! The portion was just what I wanted and needed! 18$ for 2 meals and a drink definitely can't beat that!!! We have lived in Tucson for the past seven years and I have tried many Chinese restaurants, trying to find one that I would like to frequent. It hasn't happened until now. A friend recommended we try Golden House since there was recently a change of ownership. Literally everything we tried was amazing. And I'm super picky. My whole family is super picky. My husband and I both have Asian mothers that cook very well so we set the bar pretty high. We ordered a large variety of dishes and as we tasted each one we were smiling at each other like weirdos. I'm pretty sure it's the best Mongolian Beef I've ever had. Everything was fresh and well seasoned. None of that weird mystery meat feeling you can often get at a Chinese restaurant and all the veggies were really fresh and not over-cooked. To top it all off, Ming and her staff were delightful, very welcoming and helpful. You should definitely eat here as soon as possible. read more

Called and was told their driver would bring to us (2 miles away)..45 minutes later, still no soup, all other food cold, and what was most regrettable was a sizable tip that I had given with initial pickup....ridiculous that no refund or other consideration offered. I just moved to this area, and It was between this place and another, for Chinese. I choose this one based on the reviews. Man, was I disappointed. At first we had a good impression as they told us they don't deliver where we live as we were just outside their service area, but were willing to make an exception. So, I was like "cool." Then we get a knock on the door about 15 to 10 mins later, and we live about 12 mins or so away. So I didn't think it could possibly be our food, however, it was. Immediately I thought, this was not cooked when ordered. I don't have an issue with food being under heating laps or anything like that. So, we begin to serve ourselves. I ordered the sesame chicken, but it tasted like a lemon chicken. Assuming they messed up the order, I would have not had a problem, but it was a very bland sauce. The egg flower soup was also very bland, I had to add a generous amount of salt to be able to eat it. Finally, the fried rice was, eh, it was barely ok. This sucks because I really like the owner. She is super nice and happy. We came here for lunch to get out of the house. He ordered the orange chicken and I ordered the combination fried rice. The orange chicken had an acidic taste. And not the type of acidic you would expect it to be. My husband said it tasted like orange juice, sugar and vinegar. My fried rice was beyond bland with seasoning being in the negative range. I added a little soy sauce and it became a little too salty so I couldn't eat it. And there was a young waitress we had who looked to be in her 20's and brunette with the nastiest attitude and was rude when my husband tried to grab her attention. There is nothing more I dislike than bad food and bad service. But like I said I truly adore the owner. She always has a smile on her face and for that I gave it two stars.
