Keepin it real out here at QCM, one of the best performing malls in America. If I'm ever craving boba on the way home I have to stop at Fulton center and grab a drink at gong cha! The workers are nice and the drinks come out quick. There's no seating or tables or anything just a stand I wish there was a menu displayed on the wall or something so we can look at the menu while we wait in line instead of having a menu just at the register where we have to rush and decide. The drinks are good but could be inconsistent. I've gotten the lychee slush and handful of times and always 70% but the drinks are sweeter some days than others. I usually order my standard default drink with herbal jelly as my childhood favorite dessert. This Gong Cha sits inside Fulton Center as a kiosk rather than a independent storefront. Customers can grab their boba to go in the passage of one's travels on the subway to your destination. I find the herbal jelly rather stale and harden which tastes like rubber. I order honey green tea at less honey embedded, however, it contains a lot of sugar. It tasted entirely too sweet. What would former NYC Mayor Bloomberg think about excessive sugary drinks made and sold? Horrified and utter dismay. Gong Cha is a big disappointment, but I did give it the o' college try without prejudice. To each their own as one goes your way and I go my way. Customers can choose the amount of ice desired. Price for one medium honey green tea is reasonable of $4.25 plus one topping of herbal jelly $.50. Nevertheless, the staff is attentive and courteous. I prefer my favorite bubble tea shop Hui Tea in Chinatown, Manhattan, NY on Canal Street which they do it right with the herbal jelly, the minimal sugar level and the overall freshness plus taste. I have had Gong Cha three times in my life. First time in Myeong-Dong, Korea and the rest of the times here. I had to come back! And, it is the best bubble tea I have had. To each their own. But I love the flavor balance here, the smoothness of the liquid. It is not as thick and frappe like, but really smooth and milky. Also, I love that you can adjust the sweetness. Best of all, they have the best boba! The boba tastes like a little squishy bubble and then the chewiness is just right. Pearl Milk tea and Taro were the flavors we tried. Loved them both! I was here yesterday 12/09/2023 somewhere near the morning time. I loved the staff that assisted me. She was so nice and patient- she even explained each of the tea flavors to me carefully and gave me a comparison of drinks of what the teas tasted like. Most of the time when i asked employees from this location a question they get so annoyed at me because I'm asking too much. She even gave me a list of recommendations based on my preferences. She was working alone and i can see her just running back and forth around gongcha.
