I really wish I was coming here to write a positive review, but unfortunately, this takes the cake for our worst move. We were given a window of 8-10 for arrival and then closer to 10 we are told the truck has broken down and they have to get another one. They don't arrive until 11:30 (I saw another review with the exact same experience and had to look twice to make sure I hadn't already left a review because our experiences were so similar). Things happen, I get it, but it only went down hill from there. To keep in mind: We were in a three bedroom house, it was not fully furnished to begin with (other movers we got quotes from called us minimalists and quoted 7 hours with two movers). We were told we would have "three" movers with Good Deeds. To our surprise, when they arrive, one of them was significantly older and could barely make it up & down the stairs. Another one complained about the older mover and told the third he "refused to keep carrying with him." The move took 10 hours and it didn't even include all our stuff... Ten. Hours. Again, we didn't have bed frames or a full house of stuff (we had just moved in nine months prior and hadn't fully furnished it). They dropped my desk down the stairs while trying to unscrew it halfway down. They lost my couch cushion (and I sent proof of it not being in the storage unit or our old house when told I was mistaken). They didn't use furniture pads on our items (or securely wrap them instead) and scratched, chipped, crushed boxes, broke our things and damaged our walls. After this nightmare move, the woman (Dasia? Danielle Unclear) discounted part of the move for our trouble but they made my husband sign the form before we could check any of the items (as it was now the middle of the night and we couldn't see anything anyway). When I reached out, this same woman told us to send images of the damage and she would forward to her bosses so they could offer us a solution. We have since followed up with her several times and gotten zero response. These are definitely not good people. I feel absolutely swindled. What a nightmare!!! read more

Moving isn't an easy process. It's much less easier when you have a toddler and a tiny dog running around. I hired Good Deeds Moving to get me out of my 2 bedroom townhouse and into my 4 bedroom house. Thank God. The team of 3 that showed up were super nice. They were efficient, helped me hang stuff and rebuild the baby's crib, etc. They went above and beyond and even helped me entertain my son when he was fussy. I can't say enough good things about them! They played chill music while they worked which was unexpected but appreciated. They were careful not to get in the way of my neighbors and we're very polite. Thank you again! read more

The day of our move they sent over a truck that was far too small for all of our belongings. I had spoken to dispatch the day before about the size of our house and the furniture we had. She knew we had a 2 bedroom house with a full garage and still decided to send over a 16ft "packing" truck. Of course that wasn't going to work but we moved as much as we could that day. That cost us about $1000 plus tip. Also, the movers were efficient once they got started but they didn't start actually moving our things until 11am, which is well past the 8-10 window we were promised. Afterwards my husband and I agreed that we would not be doing business with them again, but when we called to discuss the issue we had they made us a good offer with a discount and no double drive time. So we booked them again and again the movers were perfectly nice, but slow this time! What should have been a 3 hour job to move the rest of our belongings (mostly boxes in the garage) turned into a 5 hour job. It felt like a bait and switch! We ended up spending another $1000 ($2000 in total) and had to take a day off work on top of that! I just felt like the company has some shady business practices and I would not recommend them whatsoever. read more

Very slow and inefficient moving service. It took them almost 12 hours for them to move a 1500 square foot house for a 4 person job. We still have items left in our original house. They seemed unprepared and didn't have the necessary tools to disassemble our furnitures. They even kept asking how the appliances got into the house. Only one person was assembling and disassembling while the other 3 were resting outside. My brother had to step in and help to speed the process up. It felt they were milking us for the hours. They also left trash in our front yard after we fed them lunch and dinner. They were not careful in handling some of our things and even dropped our storage cabinet off the truck. In our first big move, we had no idea how to find or even choose a moving company. Not to mention moving in the middle of the Covid-19 epidemic. I am not a perfect packer, and I had probably 80% of my house done. Not to mention the fact that we had lots of furniture, patio furniture and a plastic playhouse my kids love. The A-Team showed up right on time. Sergey, Joe, Kevin and Christian were so friendly and when I confessed I wasn't finished packing they didn't even judge me. They said "no problem" and got it done. They got my oversized move into 1 load, were quick and efficient and honest all along about difficulties and worked so fast and efficiently. I hired Good Deeds moving for now the 3rd time. This move was for my 88yo grandmother. The owner and Business Manager Dasia was super professional and compassionate. I can tell she was very mindful of the staff she assigned to this move, and the staff she chose were beyond amazing. There was a hiccup on my end, and I under estimated the amount of belongings my grandmother had in her home, so the wrong size truck was selected. Even though this was my error, Dasia knowing my situation without a doubt still did what she could to work with me. After a few back and forth trips, the moving crew backed everything with gentleness and stored away my grandmother stuff in storage in a way that will be easily accessible. Had a really good experience with them helping me move today. I know moving out of my old house was tough too, given that it's a tri-level with a lot of heavy furniture on the top level. Terrible communication through receptionist Danielle - did not return calls; reception was terrible; would promise a response about something and would never follow through. Too many cooks in the kitchen. Very sketchy 'supervisors.' Employee came to the house to see the home and give the quote in a contract form. Had it all in writing. Was signed by the owner 'Rodney Wilson.' Packers and movers slacked off on a long day (someone took a nap on the truck). Quote was given with a 'not to exceed' and company did not honor contract that was signed by owner and myself. Went back on their word several times and it turned into them negotiating and bargaining with me. A contract is a contract and they seem to not understand the legal implications. Items were damaged and broken. Missing parts to my stroller and kitchen items... found them later in trash bins. See pictures They for sure bribe and pay people for their 5 stars. There is no way a company that operates this way truly deserves it. People need to be aware of what they've done. Because it's absolutely not OK with me. Furthermore, after haggling me for more money the whole move day (after contract was already signed) and me sticking to the agreed upon amount - 'supervisor' drives to my home and threatens me for more money, cursing, yelling, being verbally aggressive. Needless to say, I called the cops and filed a police report with everything documented on cameras. Protect yourselves, your belongings and your loved ones. I was on a tight deadline towards the end of the month and Good Deeds was the only company that was able to put me on their schedule. I spoke with Ron over the phone and he set me up for my move. On the day of the guys showed up, worked hard, and got the job done. It was a really long day but since 4 guys were helping it made the job easier. A few weeks later I needed movers again for and Ron helped get me set up again. 4 guys again and the job was done a lot quicker this time since there was less to move. Since they were so helpful, I'm about to call them again now for help moving some items for my work. I work long hours during the week, and had only had ONE Sunday free to move a 2br apartment from Orange County to Valley Glen (just over 50 miles). I used Yelp to get multiple quotes for movers and I picked Good Deeds over other 5 star movers because they had the most reviews. The online support via Yelp messaging was responsive. The confirmation call was friendly, and the move went very smooth. I would definitely work with this company again. Edwin was an outstanding supervisor and got the job done. It took 8 hours because drive time, by regulations, needs to be calculated as 2X time. That was just over $1000. A bit more than the rough estimate, but still fair. The crew works hard so I did tip generously, it's the right thing to do. Edwin made it a point to split the tip evenly and ensure that I saw that each of the crew got their share. I didn't pre-pack most of my dishes and food, I probably should have but I thought they'd have dishpack boxes and paper. They did provide some boxes (10 came with the service) but didn't have paper. Oh well, we improvised with my paper towels and paper plates and handled carefully loading, securing and unloading and nothing broke. Upon move in, we couldn't fit all the cabinets where we wanted them so they re-moved a few items within the new apartment. Upon delivery, they do ask for the wardrobe boxes (with the bars) to be returned, but they leave the rest. If you want extra help packing and unpacking, you can specify but we did most of it ourselves, and it saved a little bit of time and money. All good things can be improved... one of the crew took a few calls and fiddled with his phone a little bit and when you are paying by the hour, it's a bit frustrating, but it was such a minor thing, I decided it was not worth discussing with the supervisor. The team, led by Sal, worked 7 long hours on my move from the San Gabriel Valley to South Bay. Initially, I was impressed at how everyone grabbed misc items that I had not yet packed and expected to pack/move myself later. After my walkthrough of my house, however, I was dismayed to find they took my four floor lamps but not the glass enclosures. My hall closet was emptied EXCEPT the vacuum cleaner attachments and table lamp. One bathroom was completely overlooked. Their empty tape rolls were found at various places. I was NOT happy with their lack of protection for my 1953 antique stove. Furniture pieces were wrapped in blankets, but nothing for my stove. The damage I found was inevitable and heartbreaking. They wrapped my dresser and carried it UPSIDE DOWN! Who does that?? Every piece of loose trinkets was scattered. I'm still finding things in odd places. One guy DRAGGED my elliptical into my workout shed instead of getting help. Someone shoved SO MUCH packing paper into two silverware drawers of my sideboard that the drawers would barely open an inch. How in the heck is anyone supposed to get ANYTHING out with 1" access? After my queen size bed-frame was reassembled and I had the chance to sit on it, my bed made creaking noises that had not existed before the move. I called Sal to let him know something was wrong, and he gave me a flip template response, "Your bed has been assembled safely. Be sure that it's up against the wall for proper support." GMAFB Next day, my sister crawled underneath and found that none of the three vertical supports were tightened. After dropping off my frig at my brother's, second stop, they tried to force it through the sliding glass door. Didn't fit but they left the door half off its rail. When my brother asked where the shelves were? "Didn't come with shelves." WHAT? He found the shelves in a nearby trash bin!! I do NOT recommend Good Deeds Moving! read more

Things were thrown, items unwrapped thrown and fell onto the street then let them lay there, bags stuffed on top of clothes in wardrobe boxes (not sure why we spent money on boxes, packing everything nicely), were told "no" when asked if things could be placed at certain places, asked for cash instead of the choices owner offered, then at the end they ask for a tip and how much! One guy had a horrible attitude the entire time and was scary. The list goes on and on., etc. etc. My husband and I were so upset and still are as we keep finding things they did. They had a good sense of humor and made the stress of moving feel lighter. We had a big move from OC to Corona. It took about 3 hours to get everything loaded up into a 26 foot truck which they provided. They also had boxes, wardrobe boxes, and wrapped all of our TV's, wood furniture, couches, and anything that was breakable. They took an hour lunch which was a welcomed break for everyone. I have mixed feelings about my move from Irvine to Long Beach. This was my first time hiring professional movers, and I shopped around for companies that were experienced with pianos. On 4/28, I asked for a quote from Good Deeds because the associate (apologies, I did not write down her name) who spoke to me over the phone mentioned that the movers would be able to dissemble and assemble the piano if needed to get it to its destination. After going over the specifics of the move (upright piano transported from first story place to second story apartment), I followed her instructions to text her five preferred moving dates over the next two weeks. I was instructed to wait for a response as they checked the possible dates. On 4/30, I received a photo of a handfilled quote from someone else in the company that did not specify a moving date in it. Confused, I contacted Good Deeds but did not get a response. I started packing as a precaution. On 5/3 at 7:30AM from Good Deeds called asking if I was ready for my move. I told them I was not ready for the move as I did not know it was even booked, as I had not received any confirmations. They said that they were ready and could give me two hours to pack as much as possible. I contacted my work to let them know I had a moving mixup, and then packed as much as I could until Good Deeds arrived. I continued packing as the three movers skillfully arranged my furniture into the moving truck. The three movers were fast and helpful. In the end, I was able to get about 85% of my stuff ready to go I decided to cut my losses for the last 15% as I was concerned about hitting traffic. When it came time to move the piano, I watched with worry as these three men fought gravity to get this piano up the stairs. They exhausted every muscle in their bodies hefting it up without taking it apart. The piano, wrapped generously in blankets, creaked as they tried their best to get it to the second floor. I was scared, but I wanted to trust their experience since the three movers were what suggested. Once done, my piano's paint was chipped and the pedals were broken. I saved whatever paint chips I could find so that I could try to restore its wood on the future. The three movers agreed that the piano should have been four people, and were shocked that whomever booked the job suggested only three people. In the end, my move was rushed, stressful, and long-- my studio apartment move's total was ~$1300. Now I'm saving to get my piano repaired. I'm grateful that the three movers did their best, however I feel like this move ended up being way more trouble and money due to the lack of communication on moving dates. read more

Terrible experience. Was told I had to pay for truck and fuel, even though loading a pod. Workers showed up in their vehicle. Worker did not bring any packing materials, they used mine. One worker had a monitoring anklet, I was not advised ahead of time. Money was missing from vacation piggy bank after they left, conscience? Maybe? This company has communication issues between order taker and workers. The workers did an overall adequate job in loading a pod; but I would not use or recommend anyone use this service!
