The breakfast buffet is a great way to start off the day at Disneyland. However, there are some things that you need to expect before just walking into this place. It is expensive for a buffet. Located at the Disneyland hotel, you are paying Disney prices. Make reservations! Especially for the breakfast buffet. It is packed because everyone wants to stuff their bellies with as much food as they can before getting into the park in order to avoid those $12 cheeseburgers. It's Disney themed, of course. There are annoying characters that walk up to the tables. They will break out in song and dance in the middle of the restaurant and make ridiculous amounts of noise. If you don't like that kind of thing, don't come here. In fact, just don't go to Disneyland. Children everywhere!!! They will take out your kneecaps while you are trying to get back to your table with a mountain of food on your plate. As long as you come prepared for all of the above, you should enjoy yourself. Here's the thing about Goofy's Kitchen: the food for the most part is kind of middle-of-the-road buffet faire (except for the PB&J Pizza -- which is OUTSTANDING!), but you don't really come here for the food. Or at least you shouldn't. It's way overpriced for the quality. However...if you are the kind of big pants people to want quantity over quality...then you may have found your Disney Feed Bag Nirvana. This is the kind of place you suck it up & pay the big money so your kids can interact with the Disney characters. And for that....it's worth every penny. If you want to spend similarly and get a better meal without the character hoopla, then I suggest going next door to the steak house (which usually has less of a wait). I have been for both dinner and breakfast and I have to say that if you can choose, breakfast is the better option. Character dining two weekends in a row?! Oy...I'm a first name basis with the chipmunks now. Came here for my niece's 6th birthday. Made reservations for the Sunday brunch buffet for 9 people. At first they weren't sure if they could accomodate all of us and we initially made two reservations (a table of 6 and a table of 3). Luckily, when we got there, the whole party was able to sit together. More variety of food than at Storytellers cafe (much more dessert options, the famous peanut butter & jelly pizza, Mickey waffles and pancakes were part of the buffet and you didn't have to order them from the waiter). The characters didn't come around as often as they did at Storytellers but the characters at Goofy's Kitchen were more varied (at Storytellers you have more woodland creatures, at Goofy's Kitchen we were visisted by Chip, Dale, Pluto, Alladin, Captain Hook and Snow White). Highlights of the brunch for my niece: the "dance time" where all the kids run to the middle of the restaurant and dance with the characters, macaroni & cheese pizza, getting a hug from Snow White and BACON. I think she ate a whole plate of bacon. My 3 y/o niece was terrified of the characters and when they saw this, they gave her some space. Lol. My boyfriend enjoyed the food and described it as pretty much the same quality of food as Storytellers except more options. But Goofy's Kitchen feels more hectic - or lively or happening. I guess it depends on how you look at it. I was busy chasing my niece around with the camera and trying to track down all of the characters that I couldn't really enjoy eating. I feel anxious thinking about last Sunday's birthday celebration. Overall, a 3.5-4 star experience. Bumping it up to 4 because free 5 hours of parking (self-park or valet) at the hotel. I don't think I'd come back unless my nieces wanted to or unless the BF gets a craving for that peanut butter & jelly pizza (I think he ate 4-5 slices of that pizza). For AYCE Disney breakfast brunch, I think I'd rather come back to Storytellers Cafe for the because of the chill and rustic charm (and the "secret entrance" to the park through the Grand Californian hotel). read more

During breakfast they're the ones that have the Mickey pancakes & Mickey waffles as well as Goofy's PB&J Pizza. Very standard American fare: pancakes, French toast, sausage, bacon, eggs Benedict, frittata, glazed ham, smoked salmon, pastries, fresh fruit, made-to-order omelets and other varieties that they switch up from time-to-time. Chip n Dale, Peter Pan n Wendy D., Pluto, Rafiki, Baloo, and of course Goofy. :) I'm sure there are others but those are what we saw. The buffet is pretty pricey and it may not be the best tasting, but most buffets aren't. As for buffets, this IS one of the best ones though. 5 stars of the food was exceptional, but 4 stars because the character interaction is well worth it! Oh! I went here a good 4 or 5 times and it's been all smiles from stepping into the restaurant to stepping out. The food has always been the same, but the makers of this place picked food that you virtually can't get sick of. Cereal, eggs benedict, pb and j pizza, waffles, and their many arrangements of meats and sweets. The waiting isn't usually long, 15 - 20 min. (and if you think that's bad, it's worth it) The price of it is worth every penny for what's in store. The place is very colorful (upon entering you'll know it's targeted for kids), and the service is outstanding. Never messed up on a drink order and accompanies them with creamer, sugar, straws on initiative, brings out extra chairs, booster seats (w/out even asking), and always serving with a smile. Waiters/waitresses will occasionally ask you how's your dining experience and the chefs/cooks are really entertaining. They have Disney characters that walk around the restaurant taking pictures with anyone/everyone and it gives you that warm fuzzy feeling when you see a child's bright eyes light up when they see their favorite Disney character... (sigh). They also have little interactive shows where Goofy would come out, slip and fall with a lot of kitchen utensils scattered on the ground, and the children dining would use them as instruments to collaborate with music playing in the background. Very creative. Onto the food. I gotta give it to Goofy's Kitchen for letting me experience my first Eggs Benedict (applaud) and since I didn't know what's it really suppose to taste like, I'm still looking for the best resto to serve one better than the one I got here. They have some "Goofy" looking food that tastes great. Most of it are foods that you can prepare at home, but with the whole entire buffet of food in front of you, you can get whatever your heart desires. Decent character breakfast. I mean, most of the food is below average, but it's a buffet so that's to be expected. As far as character breakfasts go, this one seems to be one of the better ones. My favorite food was the peanut butter and jelly pizza. Also I got a pretty good made to order omelet. Beyond that, there aren't really any stand outs. The mac and cheese pizza was okay, the bacon was disappointing, and the desserts were a let down. They also, bizarrely, have fried plantains (which were a little gross). Lots of characters walking around, which is good, including a few of the funnier looking ones like Goofy and Baloo. Plus, when I was there, they had Goofy dance the twist with the little kids every half hour, so that was cool. Free valet parking for five hours, validated by the restaurant. The atmosphere is amazing, it definitely beats going to TOONTOWN and waiting in those horrendous lines to see the Characters. They have what they call a "just my size" bar for the little mouseketeers with the standard kid food of chicken tenders, varities of pizzas, mac and cheese, which is fun for the kids since they have the opportunity to pick what they want to eat. They have en entire island dedicated to desserts, which are also to die for... Crispy treats the size of my arm, pudding, cookies, cakes, and bananas fosters.. all AMAZING! DISNEY always goes ABOVE and BEYOND a PERFECT SHOW.. however, ONE TIP that i must share.. DO THE BRUNCH... Ive learned over the years of going to this place that the Characters are at their best during BRUNCH.. I went here with my boyfriend and his brother's family. This place is definitely for the kids, but I secretly enjoyed it myself :). Before you are seated, you take a picture with Goofy, which you can buy later for about $30.00. There a lot of seats, and we were able to walk-in without a reservation on a Wednesday night. As for the buffet, the selection was okay. I was more concerned with the delicious selection of desserts rather than the main course foods. They had really cute desserts like cocoa rice krispies treats and cream puffs. Their food is pretty decent, I tried their popular peanut butter and jelly pizza, which is a must! They had BBQ ribs, fried rice, fried shrimp, smoked salmon, hot dogs, spaghetti and meatballs, roasted chicken, and some baked fish. There were a couple of cool characters that came out. We had Captain Hook, Snow White, Cinderella, and Minnie Mouse. A few didn't make their way to our table, but you get a good amount of visits. Great to take your kids to. Note that I say this while I dont have any kids. I went with my boyfriend here on Sunday night for dinner. We checked in and they led us to take pictures with goofy. Then we waited a short time in the lobby until they called us in. We noticed that we were the only ones in the room without any kids. Well we will have some in like a decade for sure. And take them here. But anyways~ Food was average at best. My favorite was their smoked salmon and turkey with cranberry sauce. Good creme brulee too. I usually get every dessert and try them out. Creme brulee I came back for more. I was pretty full by the time we left. But for the price we paid for this food quality, I dont feel it was worth all that cash. I just think of the bill as maybe a third of it was for the food and the rest of the money was for the experience of dining with "character". It was pun (fun). Okay now to review the characters. Chipmunk was my worst enemy. Be warned. He tries to steal your boyfriend!!! He kept shoving me away and stole a kiss off my baby's cheek ;( He got mad at me because I refused his kiss so he took it out on me by trying to make me jealous LOL. I've wanted to come here for well over a year and the only thing holding me back was the price. This is the most expensive place I have ever eaten. We paid 69.00 (it was half off). I couldn't imagine paying full price, just no way. There were 2 adults and 2 children, one was free (infants are free) We came on a Monday, it wasn't busy at all, so I was able to call Disney Dining and make same day reservations for 5:10 (they open for dinner at 5pm). Check in was quick. Gratuity is charged up front. another 17.00 dollars We met Goofy in his kitchen, Minnie, Pluto, Chip & Dale. They (all characters with the exception of Goofy) made several rounds to the tables, by several I mean at least 6 times. We were able to have autographs signed, tons of pictures taken. The characters were nothing less then attentive and wonderful and funny. Our waitress was absolutely wonderful. We didn't have to wait for refill's, our plates were always cleared in a timely manner. Service was fantastic! No complaints there. Many people have commented on the food. It is a buffet and the food really isn't that bad. The only thing I didn't like was the Mac n cheese. The pizza was okay. The chicken nuggets were alright. The turkey, ribs and garlic mashed potatoes were amazing! So good. I thought they had a really good selection of desserts. Lots to choose from. Celebrated my princesses first birthday with a family of 10 at Goofy's Kitchen! And oh my goodness!!! Amazing. The characters, the food, the atmosphere, and the service was PERFECT!!!. My daughter loved it all. This place was such a good time and my daughter was in LOVE....My kid was treated like the princess she is which was the most important part!! Apparently there is nothing bad to say about anything Disney.... Food is awesome, they give a military discount, and they keep the kids happy. Best part is that they have something to eat for EVERYONE. Are you a health freak?? They got you covered. Are you a meat eater?? They got you covered. Do you like peanut butter and jelly pizza?? They got you covered. No really, i'm not exaggerating!! And it 's really good!!! They make the kids feel so special, it was my 3 year old's birthday, and the characters came and sang him happy birthday. $36 is pretty steep so you'd expect service to be commensurate. Not so. First of all, they take a picture up front with goofy, which you can buy for $30. They will only use 1 of your cameras and they'll make zero effort to even take a decent picture with your camera. Ours turned blurry and they refused to retake. Onto the food. The food is not bad but no different than pch grill or any other character buffet. However, I must take issue with the characters, or lack thereof. We arrived at 10:30 and left at 11:50. During that time, we saw Pluto, chip, and jasmine. That's it. We saw other characters but our table was ignored. We went to disneyland early, for once, and decided to try this one out because we've been to Storyteller's. We were fortunate that it wasn't extremely busy because we didn't make reservations. Dinner review: $45 dollars total if you have a Disney pass discount. $50 dollars without. Is it worth it?? ABSOLUTELY. They had a wide selection of food that both children and adults can enjoy. The quality of the food was actually very good. I was really surprised that the food here tasted like it was made with care and the selection was twice the size of the one in the Grand California Buffet. In the children's section I recall there being chicken nuggets, battered fried shrimp, spaghetti with meatballs, macaroni and cheese (very cheesy and delicious), corn, various types of pizzas and hot dogs. In the adult section there was a creamy fish dish (made very well), mash potatoes, sauteed vegetables, creamy shrimp and pasta (bomb dot com), fried chicken, bbq ribs, a daily special dish (Chinese beef dish), a carving station (chicken and prime rib) and im sure im missing a bunch of other dishes. There was a big dessert station as well as salad station. Each character came around at least twice to our table. They stuck around for a while and we were all able to get a picture. The price for two adults at Goofy's kitchen was about $120 and it includes tax and gratuity. The food items are of course geared towards kids. They have hotdog tacos, pb &j pizza, chicken nuggets, pasta, pizza. The food isn't the greatest, but the characters that come to your table are well worth the visit. We had Minnie, Chip and Dale, Goofy and Pluto. They spent a lot of time visiting and taking pictures which really makes it unforgettable for the kids. read more

I love Goofy's Kitchen! We've been to Disneyland at least a dozen times and we always go to Goofy's Kitchen. Their food is great, the atmosphere is fun, and it's a nice way to start out the day before heading into the park. It's a buffet so you can really get stuffed, but at least you can walk it off later inside Disneyland. They have fun food like Mickey Mouse shaped pancakes and waffles, Mickey Mouse shaped macaroni and cheese and Mickey Mouse shaped chicken nuggets. They also have Un-Birthday cake...... chocolaty and delicious! One of my favorites is the Peanut Butter and Jelly pizza! The place can get loud and crazy and all the kids get excited because the characters come to your table. It's fun but if your table consists of adults it can be annoying to have Princess Jasmin stop by while your shoveling your face with Mickey shaped edibles....... All in all it's a great place for families and the food is really good too. read more

Excellent!! Goofys Kitchen was just great. Food selection, food quality, staff were all great. But let's be honest...it's really about the characters! My kids saw 6 different characters in less than an hour. They absolutely loved it. The restaurant itself was surprisingly clean considering the number of people that come through here. One tip...make sure you come early and reserve. We reserved at 8am and the place was pretty quiet. By 8:30, there was a lineup outside 10 deep...yikes! We have been to Ariel's Grotto last time but this one definitely topped Ariel. We will be back again. read more

I think everyone, who likes Disney, should experience a character breakfast/lunch/dinner at least once in their lifetime. As a grown woman in her 20's my then boyfriend, now husband, took me to Ariel's grotto. I'm glad I waited until I had a child to go to this LOL. No shame if you do not bring a child with you. But..bringing a child with you makes you see it through their eyes! I can't even remember the food because I was anticipating how my 2 year old would react when the characters came around. Let's just say so worth it and the photos are super presh. But I'm pretty sure the food was great too. On our way out, no one was in line taking a picture with Goofy, so Goofy hung around with my baby boy! Extra Goofy time!! Freakin' adorable. For characters, we saw Goofy, Pluto, Minnie, and Chip N Dale. Although I admit, whoever was dressed in Dale, was not having it and not putting in nearly as much effort as the rest. Like Pluto got distracted during a photo and sniffed some guys plate as he walked by because that's what dogs do. The fresh made Mickey waffles were my favorite, loved the pozole, bacon and kale salad, smores pizza, buffalo chicken pasta, mandarin chicken... everything was delicious! My kids had so much fun meeting the characters, they came around to our table a couple times and took photos with us. They also did a little song/dance show a couple times! This was our first Disney dining so I can't compare this to other dining experiences but we liked it alot! We came on a Thursday morning around 8am and the staff was very courteous and sweet! Goofy seemed very engaging with all the children and we took multiple pics with him throughout the meal. We also saw Chip & Dale, Aladdin, and Baloo. Other Yelpers have raved on being able to see lots of characters at Goofy's kitchen compared to the other dining experiences, but the only ones who came to our actual table were Chip & Dale and Goofy. Its a little pricey (around $28 for adult and $15 for child) but I would say you are paying 60% on the experience and 40% on the food. I would definately come back again, the food was pretty good, we got lots of pictures with Goofy, and there was a good variety of food. My preschooler enjoyed every minute! read more

We came here the other day for my niece's 4th birthday. It is a buffet and it is kinda pricey but then again it is Disneyland so I guess it's expected. The food was not bad for buffet food. We came for brunch. They have a couple of different stations: breakfast foods (like eggs sausage, potatoes and omelette bar), breads (like danish and biscuits), fruits, cereals, salads, pizza (pb&j pizza, mac and cheese pizza etc) and of course desserts. They also have a full bar for the adults; those drinks have to be paid for additionally. The best part of the experience are all the characters that walk around to the tables and meet the kids and guests. There is, of course, Goofy, also Pluto, Chip and Dale, Alice in Wonderland, Princess Aurora etc... All of the characters were so awesome with my niece! She had so much fun and they really gave her personal attention. They also interacted with the adults too and that was fun for us! Like i said, expensive but a great time! I have a two year old and its perfect age...I could have saved money by skipping the park (and all those lines), and just come here! Buffet has tons of great food and desserts, and the characters are great at coming to your table throughout dinner. I recommend a 7:30 or 8 pm dinner reservation since they close at 9 and the characters hang out with you for bit after. In a nutshell? Fun environment and a pretty good variety of food options. We came here for breakfast after our Magic Morning early park entry. I made our reservations in advance for an 11:15 seating so that once the park got crowded we were able to go sit down and eat outside the park in the Disneyland Hotel (i.e. refuel and recharge). You pay on arrival and they include gratuities in your total so everything's taken care of up front. No flagging down a server for your bill, calculating a tip, or waiting for your card. Excellent! Prior to being seated, we met the big guy himself, Goofy, for a photo op (I highly recommend purchasing a Max Pass for free photo downloads through the parks and at character experiences). Once inside, there were several stations serving up creative pizza options, fruit, traditions breakfast fare, a build your own omelette station, a salad bar, and a dessert bar. I opted for the omelette bar while my little guy tried just about everything else. Throughout the meal we were visited by several Disney characters who indulged us in photos and autographs. No lines and no chasing them down through Disney streets. Pretty cool. This character dining experience for my son and I came to just under $80 with gratuities yesterday. Well worth it! read more
