I try to rate venues according to expectation and function. Normally I would rate this as a 2/5, but it's airport food, and the staff was nice despite being understaffed. I had the Cajun fish tacos, no Cajun about them. I have no idea why they had blue shell soft tacos wrapped inside regular flour tacos. No extra flavor or purpose, just extra calories. No flavor, under-seasoned. Fries were stale. Had a couple drinks, which were not amazing, but enough to achieve the purpose of a pleasant buzz while on a layover. Cleanliness was questionable. Even though I am giving 3-stars, this is the tale of two ratings: Service: 5 stars! Off the chart! They were fantastic and could brighten anyones mood, which is tough to do, since a lot of us (myself included) were there because of delayed flights). I loved everyone working there. Food: 1 star. Actually, lower that one star. As good as the service was, it was matched, inversely, by the quality of the food. I got a burger - hard to mess it up, but it is possibly the worst burger I've ever had. If you are delayed, and going in for a bev, to casually hang out at the bar, while waiting for your flight, definitely, check it out. If you are hungry, go somewhere else. read more

We decided to give this a try while waiting for our flight. It's very busy here during lunch, but they were able to find us a seat. Our waitress, Andrea, was very nice. I ordered the salmon with quinoa and kale and jasmine rice, and the other person ordered the barbecue burger. The salmon was cut very well, the sides were OK, the selection is pretty limited. If you don't sit at the bar then don't expect anything but poor service. Sat at a table for 10 minutes waiting to order something and finally gave up and left. Let the hostess know she seated me in an area with no server but as she was on her phone was too busy to even acknowledge me. Would expect in an airport that they would be a bit faster with service. Guess servers were to busy on there phones and out back having coffee hour to care. My BF and I found ourselves on a 6 hour delay home so we stopped here for dinner. You'll need to go upstairs to get to the restaurant and it was worth it! The service was great! It wasn't fast, but it wasn't slow either. The music was perfect for our liking (mostly 90s music, but some modern music, too). The atmosphere was great as I have never had a sit down meal at an airport. Since we knew we weren't in a rush, we took our time and talked for a while. No one seemed to mind that we just sat. Our server checked on us randomly and we noticed how busy it was starting to get. The food was really good. The fries were my favorite as the seasoning was just perfect (huge fan of carbs here!) and I opted to dip the fries in ranch instead of ketchup. It just seemed right with the seasoning. Gordon Biersch Is not what it used to be. In fact, it's sort of depressing. I paid $13 for a California chicken sandwich that was eclipsed in flavor by a chick-fil-a sandwich costing $3. The BLTA had a bread that was possibly an attempt at sourdough but was largely flavorless...and missing bacon. The fries were greasy and the music was louder than it needs to be. Was it horrible...no. Our server was not quick, and even charged our card for another table first, then had to refund and fix the issue. Not the end of the world, but it starts to pile up against my ever eating here again. My experience wasn't great. So if you want fast food quality food at triple the price, and with slower service, this is your place. read more

Yikes, where do I begin. This rating got the one star for the Hef I drank while waiting. After that it was downhill. Had the Marzen BBQ chicken sandwich. Took a bit, but not a terrible length of time. When it arrived, looked like it had been sitting under a heat lamp. It did have ample extremely thin bacon...the picture on the menu means nothing, but we know that. The bun was cold, and the chicken was warm, at best. The Marzen BBQ sauce? Nonexistent. But that's what happens when you barely coat it and let it sit under heat for a bit. One of the worst chicken sandwiches I've ever had. I also had the garlic fries. Yikes, not what I expected. Literally cold fried with an oil and big chunks of garlic. It wasn't especially appetizing with the huge chunks of garlic. Even less so considering how old and cold they were. Server was nice, but inattentive. I know, labor shortage, we've heard it all. Not her fault about the food, but she never checked in after she took the order until I was done. Easily a terrible experience at Gordon Beirsch. I've grown to expect very little at airport locations, but this didn't even reach the level of my low expectations. At nearly 9pm on a Thursday night, there is almost nothing open in the airport. Fortunately, Gordon Biersch was still open. I ordered the bratwurst sliders and my wife ordered the fish tacos. I didn't get a chance to taste my wife's food, but my sliders came out cold and the chips were soggy. The brats tasted like they've been just sitting in a cold liquid for quite some time. The pretzel bun was forgettable. The caramelized onions and the mustard made it somewhat tolerable. I guess since their dining room closes at 915pm, quality of the food wasn't their concern anymore. I should've known better than to expect good food at the airport 15 minutes before their kitchen closes. Service was meh. Clearly, the staff wanted to leave and it was clear we were those annoying customers coming in at the last minute. Nonetheless, my wife enjoyed a glass of wine with her meal and I enjoyed a glass of Marzen beer. I should've just stuck to the liquid diet. My server was the most rude and condescending staff member I've dealt with in all the Gordon Biersch's I've been to. I asked her about the seasonal vegetables, she tells me what they are (clearly annoyed), I then ask how they're cooked and she gives me attitude and responds "sautéed" as if I'm the chef their and should know that. I ended up ordering a Caesar salad which was fine. She continued to check on the couple next to me, ignoring I was sitting there. I finally asked for the check, she brought it. I took out my card to pay immediately (were at the airport, I have a flight to catch). And she walks away watching me put it on the table. She then checks on all the tables around me, but polite to some and seemingly short with others. I finally asked her to close out and she gave me attitude claiming "you're going to have to wait a minute." I've never felt more uncomfortable. Never asked how things were, didn't say thank you when she delivered my check, just all around horrible service. Her name was Racquel. We happened upon this place while we were looking for a spot to grab a beer and a quick dinner before a flight back to the West Coast. I don't remember which terminal it was in, but I do remember that we had to go up an escalator to enter the restaurant. Kind of fun that you got to go up an escalator to get in! The food selection is pretty standard airport chain, but they were a couple of fun items. A compatriot add some fish tacos which look very good, and a couple of us just ended up getting drinks. They had a good selection of beers, including a good variety that went light to dark. Definitely not a down-home type pub with a lot of local options, but a couple that made it interesting for those that are looking for regional type brews. The servers are, obviously, used to people having lots of luggage so they were very adept at getting things out of the way. The prices are actually better than I was expecting for slightly nicer than normal airport chain food. Perhaps, after the Falcons lowered their stadium prices, the rest of Georgia got the memo and decided to make the price is reasonable so more people partake. Yay supply and demand! Wanted something out of the norm, so this restaurant was a gamble. Liked the color scheme, looked it up on Yelp, good to go....Was the food good. Could not even tell you!!! I proceed to the wait area to be seated and as I looked around, it was crowded. I then look at the wait staff and I just feel the vibe is not right so I shake it off them being busy with the ease of the V restrictions. I was informed the wait is long but since I am solo so the bar area was open. Cool. I proceed to the bar where directed and it was not even cleaned from the last patron. I button hook to the other side of the bar and found an empty spot. Now I am looking around at patron's expression and the food that is being eaten. Some of the dishes looked cold and not fully cooked. I can only describe it as if a home made dish was left out overnight at room temperature and you went to eat it, that is how it looked to me. It just from one day you could tell at the bottom of the sill was disgusting. I looked at the other windows and they were all the same . Long layover in terminal A lead us to this location above the food court. We were greeted instantly and sat right away with a group of 5. The service was very attentive and friendly throughout our meal. My sister and her husband enjoyed the beer selection and my niece loved their thick kids book filled with coloring and stickers. The Caesar salad with chicken was great and large enough to be called a meal. The lobster and shrimp Mac and cheese was also very tasty but the garlic bread (I believe that's what it was), was a little different. There were large pieces of lobster mixed in with the bow tie pasta, which was great. Overall, this is a great spot to grab a sit down meal if you have the time during a layover. We had no issues with the service and our food was all above average! (Especially for airport terminal food). We will definitely stop in again when we have a layover. read more

Going out...needing lunch prior to our agonizing 4 hour and 35 minute flight to San Francisco. Had never been in a Gordon Biersch restaurant other than once in Palo Alto. And at that time, Gordon Biersch was just a beer bar, more bar than restaurant. Well, this was different. Still bar, but now a decent restaurant with a good menu and excellent views of the runways. Wife and I did like the menu, plenty of options, not just bar food. Wife ordered a spinach salad and a cup of soup. She liked both. I had a BLT and a cup of soup and was happy. No booze, just water to drink. John P. was our server and he was on point. Accurate, friendly and watched over us. Their location was really nice with the views, so I recommend that you consider it as a place to relax awaiting flights. Restrooms are down the escalator in the concourse. read more

Ok.. so you don't always get what you pay for.... first I'll say the staff was great no issues with the service our waitress was great! But for these prices you expect a certain something. My BLTA had avocado paste not fresh. No flavor by the time it made its way to me bread was cold.. how do you screw up bacon.. not sure but it was limp and bland and not alot either. But THE GARLIC FRIES were delicious.. maybe not thre best idea with a mask.. but delicious. My husband's cheeseburger was good.. The view was interesting we sat by the window watching planes arrive. Visited this past Friday afternoon, on my way out of town. The restaurant was pretty busy but I was immediately seated upon entry. The restaurant was clean. My server came over, around the time I had to look over the menu. She was pleasant, professional and attentive. My drinks and food came out fast, fresh and delicious! The sliders was something new I tried. I normally don't like onions but their caramelized onions were good. My margarita was delicious. There are lots of options for dining in the ATL airport and I've hit quite a few of them. But when your flight is delayed and you're still here at 10:00, most of the spots are closed or closing. Not Gordon's! Take the up escalator in the center B food court and you'll be delivered directly to the hostess stand. I was brought to the high top community table, as the hostess suggested that was the only one with electrical outlets. High gloss menus as are typical of chain restaurants. Same with the high prices including their own and other beers. I ordered their Czech Pilsner and the fish tacos. The beer arrived first and the tacos a few minutes later. Two decently stuffed tacos (which went way better with some Sriracha added) and rice and beans (more Sriracha) that were cooked nicely. You can sit here and other than people with suitcases and rollaboards, it's like not even being in an airport. A decent option if you don't want to be in a SkyClub. read more

My wife and I popped upstairs from the terminal A food court to find a fairly empty restaurant for breakfast on a rainy Friday morning. The space is quite nice with a commanding view of the alley between terminals A and T. They have a glassed in area for folks who want to smoke and a full service bar. We were promptly seated and got our drinks ordered. There is a decent selection of items for breakfast both from their main menu and a separate breakfast only card. My wife picked the classic breakfast with three eggs over medium, bacon, sourdough toast and grits substituted for the potatoes. Her eggs were delicious as were the grits but her toast was cold and the bacon too salty. I went with the French toast and bacon. My meal was quite disappointing as the French toast was a little on the burnt side and served cold. The syrup was nice and warm which helped but my bacon was also too salty for my liking. Service started strong but faded fast. Our server disappeared for long periods of time leaving us wanting drink refills. My wife finally got up and went looking for her to get a coffee refill. We won't be returning anytime soon and will try some other place the next time we are dining in ATL. read more

Came here for a meal since we had time to spare. Got here near 8PM with no line and the place was packed. Sat down and it took a little while for waiter to come by for our order or drinks but the our appetizer, the crispy artichoke hearts, came out super fast, within 5 minutes. The entrees came out about 10 minutes later. The server was very attentive and checked on us frequently. We ordered the fish and chips and Mediterranean chicken. Fish and chips was good. I wouldn't order the chicken again as it was a tad dry and I didn't fancy it much. I would definitely order the crispy artichokes again! Overall, it was a super quick and decent meal.
