It was quiet and a bit slow which shocked him. So we went and it was exactly as he said. Friendly and the sushi was so good. I am not a fish fan so any place with even a hint of a fishy flavor turns me away and the fish here had none of it. Remembered half way through to take pictures! Came here for dinner. Wanted some Chinese food and wasn't about to go to Panda Express. Ordered orange chicken and combo roll which came with California roll, tuna roll, and spicy tuna roll. Got served with miso soup prior to ordering which was nice. Miso soup was yummy, same ole same ole but it was nice and hot. Orange chicken was alright, could have used little more flavoring but had nice crunch battering on the chicken. Rolls were pretty good, nothing special. This is the sushi hidden gem in the city of Mesa. We came in on a wet and cold Saturday night while we were charging our car and I was blown away by how cozy it was on the inside to begin with it was super clean and the server was really nice. We ordered a rainbow roll that had some of the yummiest fresh fish wrapped up in some great sticky rice it was really good. We had also ordered some Chinese chicken fried rice that had nice size pieces of chicken in it. The portion was really big that it was enough for leftovers the next day for lunch. Both entrees came with a bowl of soup. I highly recommend this restaurant for everyone's sushi needs here in Phoenix I'll definitely be coming back. read more

I used to love this place! It was one of the favorites of my dad, and our family enjoyed many meals there. Even after my dad passed years ago, I would still ask my family to take me here for my birthday as I had so many fond memories here. That said, the last few years have not been kind to Got Sushi. The last several times I've been there (including today for lunch), there has been a very strong, unpleasant odor as soon as you enter the restaurant. It's literally been that way the last 6 or 7 times I've been there. The food was good, but the 'old fish' smell wasn't appetizing at all, so I ordered teriyaki chicken instead of my usual rolls. The place feels like it is in a slow decline, which is a shame. A deep cleaning would be a great start to making the restaurant more welcoming again. read more

Sushi always on point they hve tons to choose from, if your not looking for sushi they have a full menu as well of options, my complaint would be there kinda an off smell in the restaurant when you walk in, my son had the orange chicken and it wasn't to great.. had good flavor but the chicken itself was meh.. I always love the got 1 sushi roll and the tempura rolls! Loren and sale is always a must as well! I would come back here because the sushi always hits. Service is terrible, especially for carry out. They tell you a time and then you wait in confusion after they take your credit card. Second time I've stood and waited 30 minutes for three pre-order rolls. The place wasn't even busy. Well, I came here for a meal, but I guess I accidentally enrolled in a live performance of "Grumpy Grandma's Last Nerve." Service was already moving at the speed of molasses in January, but I stayed patient. That was my mistake. When I dared to hand my checklist to the chef (oh, the horror), our server--an older woman with the warmth of a DMV clerk on a Monday completely lost it. She yelled at me like I had just tried to steal her bingo winnings. Not sure what I did wrong, other than exist within 10 feet of her bad mood. If you're into public scoldings and long waits, this place is a five-star experience. Also bathroom smelled rank if that's your thing. read more

Really, really nice place! I sat at the bar. I love that the chairs are regular height, and not raised. The chairs were nice and cushioned. Very cozy, cute, and darker inside. I liked the vibe. This place is awesome! They are always pretty fast, lots of yummy rolls and nigiri. The price is reasonable for their special and reg rolls. We are big fans of their Mesa location. My husbands favorite rolls are the Palm Springs roll, and the Crazy roll. My favorite is the G.T.O roll. We order takeout from them at least twice a month. read more

The last few times we have been here the service has not been very good. The woman owner who takes your order has been just rude the last few times. She told us that her a tip was not good enough and we needed to leave more, okay.. we did it because we thought maybe she was just having a bad day. This last time we were asked if we wanted a drink and we ordered 3 waters and hot tea. She brings us ice cold tea then got mad when we told her it was ice cold. She then brings it back so scalding hot you couldn't touch the cup for 20 minutes, it was that hot. Almost felt like she did it on purpose. I ended up having to pour half of it out and filling it with water for my 84 year old grandmother. She brings us out almost all of our food but one roll is missing. The rolls have been made but tolled badly. We are getting ready to leave an hour later and she brings out the final roll. I was wondering if we should refuse to pay for because we are now leaving. We don't leave have to sit back down for this last roll grandma ordered. I didn't even want to leave her a tip but I did. I hope the family gets it together. It use to be our favorite place. Now the atmosphere the owner gives off makes you feel unwelcome. What a shame. read more

So good news, if you're craving a mix of Korean and Japanese - than this is the perfect place for you! Recent changes! This used to be a Japanese inspired restaurant with sushi options and chef's that cooked your meal right in front of you. If this is what you're looking for, it isn't quite the same because it is now a Korean Barbecue location instead. But don't worry! You can still order some Japanese inspired dishes and Sushi. They are still great for serving large parties as my family and I (table of 8) came to visit recently. The service is very friendly and try to still add a personal touch to everyone's visit. The rolls are good, but not my personal favorite. I'd rather save room for the different dishes you can make yourself with the Korean Barbecue options. My part of the table ordered the option that included Kalbi Short Ribs, Bulgogi and Pork Belly and it was amazing! Although we were originally surprised with the changes, it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. I only rate this experience four star because I didn't get to completely enjoy "cooking the food." Our server stood by and cooked all of our food for us. Although her intentions were good we felt very cluttered and didn't have our own space to just cook and enjoy. Unfortunately when I think of this experience I think of how delicious it was but how we were slightly uncomfortable without any privacy. (Yes, we should have said something, but we kept thinking, maybe something was broken on our side of the table?)... We will visit again! read more

I would consider myself a local. I've lived in AZ for over 12 yrs. With that said my dad was in the military so I moved around a lot. Born in the Philippines, visited Korea, and lived in Okinawa for a good chunk of my childhood. With all that said I grew up eating food from everywhere. Got Sushi is the real deal. Food taste authentic and delicious. This place use to have some tables that were set up for Korean BBQ. Omg... my favorite! A few years ago they did a little remodel and took out the tables that were for the BBQ. My favorite dish was still on the menu Beef Bulgogi so I will always go back for that. My son and I went Saturday. Of course I got the beef bulgogi. We also ordered some sushi and shrimp tempura. The food here never disappoints. I came here for the happy menu items at lunch. They are great prices. However I was very unimpressed with the sushi. I got spicy tuna and shrimp tempura. The spicy tuna was soggy. The shrimp tempura was COVERED in spicy mayo. The spicy mayo tasted like straight mayonnaise. I feel like that roll would have been good if they didn't add any mayo to it. I came here at the suggestion of fellow Yelpster Victoria K. Being the sushi connoisseur she is I can count on a good sushi experience when she rates a place 5 stars. Located in a strip mall this unassuming little gem is nicely decorated and offers a happy hour special. One at lunch 11-1 and another 5-7. At that time you can get select items at a special price. I ordered my standard, a spicy salmon roll for $5.50 and a volcano roll for $6.50. This all came with a bowl of miso soup. The soup came out within minutes piping hot. Not the best miso I've had, but ok. It lacked flavor. The spicy salmon roll came out in about 10 minutes. This was the kind without the nori wrap. The salmon was fresh and the rice was perfect. The dish was garnished with a generous amount of ginger and wasabi. I waited another 15 minutes for the volcano roll to arrive. This roll is made with tuna, salmon, yellowfin, whitefish, and crab. This is all wrapped in nori with rice and cream cheese, topped with spicy mayo and then baked. This is worth the wait. I don't usually like the tempura sushi, but never had one baked so I thought I'd give it a try. This roll has a unique flavor and texture. It reminds me of baked fish with spicy tartar sauce. There are more rolls on the menu I would like to try. For only $15.00 and change to get 2 sushi rolls, miso soup, and a soda, there's a good chance I will get to try them too. read more

Like I have said in other reviews of Sushi places, I do not eat sushi, but my husband does so I came here with him. Upon arriving and reviewing the menu, I was glad that they had a wide variety of non-sushi items. I like the bento boxes, so I decided on the sesame chicken bento box. This box included the chicken, rice, egg roll, 4 piece California roll and a small lettuce salad. We ordered an order of spring rolls for an appetizer, and also had miso soup. A short time after ordering our soup came out. It was okay. Tbe spring rolls came out hot and crispy. My box came out and everything looked so good! The chicken was crispy and flavorful, the rice was perfectly cooked, the egg roll was good and the salad was okay. We ended up bringing the spring rolls home for a snack later. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. The negative thing is that we noticed they charged us extra for the miso soup. Most other places it is included. Not a huge deal, but just a heads up. Overall it was a good experience and since this is one of my husband's favorite sushi places, I'm sure I will be back to try a different bento box. read more

This has been my favorite sushi restaurant for 6 years! The food is great and the service is always excellent. They are so sweet and take such good care of us when we are there. They always keep our drinks filled and make sure we have everything we need. Some sushi restaurants play their music so loud that it's hard to have a conversation but this place has the music at the perfect volume. They also provide free miso soup which other sushi restaurants usually charge for. We recently tried the Gotzilla roll and is was so delicious!! read more
