Gott's has become a Bay Area staple with outposts scattered around Bay and Napa Valley. Even though it is a small chain I find the quality of the food and ingredients still very good. The fast casual atmosphere and in door/out door seating is very comfortable for year round dining, especially since most outdoor tables are outfitted with heaters with your own personal controls at your table. My son, husband and I recently came to this location on a Monday afternoon and were met with no line. We got the strawberry lemonade, chicken tenders, chicken schnitzel sandwich, western bacon blue ring burger, chili fries and peach cobbler parfait. I loved the toppings on the chicken schnitzel sandwich, with fresh herbs, pickled turnips, arugula and cucumber. It was well balanced and felt light for a fried chicken sandwich. My husband loved his burger with great crunch from the onion ring and bacon, and tang from the pickles and blue cheese . The seasonal soft serve "parfait" was a favorite to all of us. The other items felt obviously homemade and were good, we definitely had leftovers. Big fan of Gott's in SF, but while this location delivered on taste, it kept fumbling on service. Pros: tons of outdoor seating, extensive menu with great burgers and chicken sandwiches. Cons: our buzzer never rang, and when we finally went to check (after about 30 mins) our order had been made but given the wrong number, so it was sat cold on the counter. We asked for it but they offered to make it again for us fresh. However, they did not prioritize remaking it and instead we had to wait another 30 mins before it came -- and when we got it, they had made completely wrong burgers. Given that the rest of our party had long since finished their food, we ate what we were given -- but it sucks to wait so long for a nearly $20 burger with all the wrong toppings. Once ordered, the wait for food was around 10 minutes. There were quite a few dirty tables so we had to clean one ourselves before we could get seated. Gott's Roadside has been a staple in the Napa Valley for probably close to 50 years. Their location up in Saint Helena is legendary. We visited the Gott's in downtown Napa as we were traveling through the area, and decided to stop in on a wet rainy night. As usual Gott's had a line about 10 deep. I usually love their Aji fish sandwich as it is one of the best items on their menu that is not a burger. Tonight we opted for a chopped salad and decided to split a burger. We had a cutie patootie granddaughter with us and ordered her a kids meal with a grilled cheese and fries. Her food came out lukewarm, and the salad came out without dressing on it. As it was super busy in there, I had to wait at the counter to get the attention of the person for about 56 minutes to be able to get dressing for my salad Having visited several other locations, including Walnut Creek, San Francisco at the ferry building, and of course, Saint Helena, we've never had a bad experience with this chain. Our experience wasn't bad per se, but it also wasn't great. I totally get it that restaurants have off nights and maybe we just caught this location on an off night. This location is great in the Oxbow marketplace in Napa with a lot to do in the area. The location is only steps from the Napa River and the Napa wine train. Burgers are a crowded playing field. You really have to make a good one to get by in a town like Napa. Gott's does it well! My only complaint about Gott's was that the wait time was a lot. It took a little over 20 minutes for a burger and onion rings. Sure, they were busy, but I'd imagine this place is always busy. Even In N Out is a bit faster when you go inside. Other than the wait, the food was great. The onion rings were perfectly battered and fried and the burger held its own. It's nice to not always have a smash burger these days. The Zabs hot sauce was something I'd never seen before and boy was it good! I'd recommend Gott's for sure. If you're wanting a cheapish and causal option in downtown Napa, they got you. Love the spot. Parking was easy and on the street. My wife found it and I had a make a decision between this spot and another one that was Mexican. I choose this one. The lines were reasonably long but moved quickly. We had about a 15 minute wait after we placed our order. On another note, the men's bathrooms were some of the cleanest and I have seen. I mean, they are very clean. The food was good. I enjoyed my California Chicken sandwich and fries. The chocolate chip cookie was huge but soft. I was delightful and decadent. I'm pretty sure it may be brown-butter based without really saying such. Its a divey spot so you have to ask for additional sauces and such if needed. There are no waiters or waitresses. You can get as much hot sauce, mustard, salt, pepper, and ketchup that you want. This is a casual, family-friendly spot in downtown Napa that is loved by locals and visitors alike. Well, here I am in Napa with the wife enjoying a Friday afternoon out. After a bit of a drive coming down from the Sacramento area we looked up a good place to eat and Gotts was well endorsed by a lot of yelp users. So as far as the restaurant, it was well attended, laid out nicely with ample seating both inside and outside. The bathrooms were clean and the servers and cooks were very nice and presentable. My only complaint about the restaurant as far as setting goes is that the outside tables and floors were kinda dirty. We ordered a cheeseburger and the Western Burger. It was pretty good. To be honest, I've had better. The patties were dry and overcooked. It wasn't anything that blew me away. Their fries were good and they offered fried Brussels sprouts, which my wife liked. They were okay. We do a lot of cooking at home and honestly everything we had we've made better at home. Even the Brussels sprouts. It is definitely a lot better that McD's or any other fast food franchise, and I do like supporting small and local businesses. My husband and I were in downtown Napa when we saw there was a lot of people in this restaurant so we decided to try it out. I read the reviews and knew it would be good but wow not this good. I've heard that Gott's Roadside is a MUST try when in the San Fran area. I stopped into the downtown napa location during the busy Saturday dinner hour. One orders at the counter then waits for the buzzer to go off showing your food is ready. They had quite a few tables inside and out on the patio. I also loved how many specials they seem to offer regularly! We heard the worker tell another guest that food wait was about 20 minutes and probably ended up being 15. The menu had a lot of different options which made it hard to decide! I got the Bacon Cheeseburger, my husband got the Double Cheeseburger, and we split the Garlic Fries. We were disappointed to see the thickness of the burger patty and how well done the meat was. It entirely dried out the burger so I asked for extra secret sauce! The other ingredients did taste fresh and added nice flavor. We both thoroughly enjoyed the fries and knew to order a side of ranch; chef's kiss. We ended with a Black & White Shake which may have been the best part of the experience. While Gott's has everything to be great, it sounds like they need better consistency in quality. Well, 2:30pm on a Thursday was the right time for me to finally try. The line was minimal and I found parking right away! It was described as fried chicken breast topped with green cabbage & cilantro slaw and pickled red onions, on a butter toasted telera roll with house-made chipotle mayo, cilantro-lime crema & black bean spread. I was given a buzzer and headed to the restroom where my buzzer went off almost immediately! Dang, that was fast!! I was almost concerned that it was ready too quick, as in the chicken was premade and sitting under a heat lamp. Was that the case? We'll never know. The sandwich was amazing and the flavors blended so well together. I loved the cilantro lime mayo that the slaw was tossed in, the pickled onions gave it a nice tanginess, and the chicken was cooked to the perfect crispness! I visited this Gott's location on Saturday as a guest for a private catered event sponsored by MINI of Berkeley. We had perfect weather out on the patio, and while I'm a longtime fan of Gott's Roadside locations around the Bay Area, I was blown away by this experience. The appetizers and buffet service were hot and tasty, and the servers were incredibly friendly and helpful. The most amazing thing to me was this all happened during Gott's lunch rush on a weekend day with typical long lines of walk-in customers keeping the kitchen staff hopping. I have passed the Gott's in Napa plenty of times but never stopped. Most of the time we are headed to another place for an event. The place is large but every table was full, so if you see someone leaving you better grab that table! You have to leave someone at your table and go get in line so you can order your food. The menu is on the wall and more & more people are coming in so you have to move. I ordered the avocado tacos. What made me order was the avocado was fried which is something I have never tried. My cousin ordered a burger & fries and some kind of blended alcohol beverage, her daughter ordered the lobster roll which I didn't see on the menu. I also ordered a lemonade which was sour, my cousin said hers was sour too; she took them back and we got regular sodas. When our orders were ready I was surprised that my tacos were really filled with cold slaw, no meat and the fried avocado was sitting on top; just one. Unfortunately, I was not impressed with the tacos, but I would be willing to give Gott's a second chance. My cousins lobster roll looked good!!! We walked around all of Napa to look at dinner places and ultimately decided that fries and ice cream outside on a nice night were the way to go - it was a great decision! I was kind of feeling a burger, but as a vegetarian, the fact that the impossible burger was a 4$ upcharge is a hard sell and one of the reasons I'm knocking a star. The burgers aren't particularly cheap, so I can't believe that plant-based meat costs 4$ more than regular beef? We got some fries which were tasty - not particularly notable but hard to go wrong with deep-fried potatoes and salt! We went back to get soft-serve and it was really nice - only a couple classic options but they do it well!
