I have to say this is a very "Instagram vs reality" type of joint. The photos of food on their website make it look like high quality gourmet street food but what we got looked a little more like wet dog food. We came here for the ahi on the recommendation of our wine tasting host, as she said it was highlighted on a food reality show, but it definitely wasn't the quality that it's presented online. Cheap food for the area and laid back backyard feel are fun, but would never go back for the food. For reference, we got ahi tacos (bleh), impossible burger (average, and kinda pricey for what it is), and sweet potato fries (nothing fancy, but a decent fry for the price.) Got the Texas avocado burger , chicken tenders from the kids menu and my mom got the green chili burger. To start off the wait was about 20 minutes but I've been here before and have always loved the food. I brought my mom and it was her first time, super excited. The burgers were super cold , dry and uncooked. Mine had avocado, and all these different flavors when I was about halfway I was like oooo I don't feel good and my mom and I look inside our burgers and it's very red and dry. Omg I wanted to throw up... I'm so grossed out and disappointed. My daughter didn't eat the tenders and I was wondering why when I tried them it was horrible almost had a fish smell to it. Finally get our dinner...and it's terrible. Chicken is so badly overcooked it's tough and barely edible. Cheeseburger was somehow overcooked and cold at the same time. It was overcooked so bad it was crunchy, and the cheese wasn't melted. Only redeeming quality was the blackberry lemon ice. But this was far from a $50 dinner. Today was my first time eating inside Gott's since the COVID restrictions. I arrived around 1:45 pm for lunch on a Sunday and there was quite a bit of a wait. We ordered some of our favorites, including the Texas Avocado Burger, sweet potato and garlic fries. I also tried the special tap from Fieldworks which was intriguing because they boast flavors of 7/11 gummy worms. The food was good and the staff were great. I think the Napa location and St Helena have better customer service with staff offering to bus your table and checking in on you. One of our favorite spots to grab a quick bite. The food is pricey but the quality is always good. We always come on the weekends after the kids' sports games. A big big shot out to the employee named Connor. I love Gott's Roadside in Walnut Creek! My wife and I have been to the location in St. Helena and we were happy to see the opening of one closer to where we live. It's a big restaurant with lots of indoor and outdoor seating! Burgers, Shakes, Salads and Beer. How can you go wrong? It's a fun restaurant for lunch with friends or in the midst of a long shopping excursion with my Wife. It's a little on the pricy side for burgers and fries, however they have compostable packaging, organic ingredients and a great location near Broadway Plaza. We'll be back! read more

I was downtown at lunch time on Monday, and did a quick search for my Vegan food needs. I saw that Gott's Roadside had fried avocado tacos, which sounded like it would be plant based, so I drove over. I waited in a line which looked more like a mishmash of people waiting to order. There were only two cashiers at the height of lunch time. The gal whom took my order was friendly and helpful, but then she told me after telling me that it can be made with their vegan mayonaise (surprisingly), and no cheese, and no they don't have vegan cheese (please get some). I was still going to order the avocado tacos, but then she remembered to tell me that the avo is fried-in butter. Oh No, I said it doesn't show that on the menu, so I had to say no to the tacos. I probably should have just left, but I was hungry, so I ordered the Impossible burger and a fries. It cost something around $17 - which I think is a bit steep for this type of meal. I rarely go out for a burger, and my husband and I had been here once before. I was given my pager thingy, and found a seat at a long shared high table near the back door...and waited. It seemed like a very long time to wait, so I finally went to the pickup counter to ask if it's almost ready. A lady checked my order # and said it's 21 minutes. I said ok, but I think I've been waiting 25 minutes or so. It came out a few minutes later, thank goodness. I asked for a bag to take it out, because I didn't want to sit by the back door, people kept coming in it, and it was raining. So I took it to the car and ate. The burger was pretty good, more or less. I think I had ordered it on the wheat bun, but I got the wheat grain toast instead. It was ok though. The fries were crispy and pretty good too. It dawned on me later, that maybe they aren't fried in vegan friendly oil or some type of bad fat. Not sure really. I also thought that the huge paper takeout box was "cute" but frankly, a waste of paper that just has to be recycled. (It's brown paperboard, but I had to mention it, because we need to save our environment). If you are looking for a quick meal, perhaps don't go to Gott's. You will have to wait around to eventually get your food at the counter. Maybe bring a snack so you don't pass out while waiting -LOL. read more

Been waiting to try this place for months. It wasn't super crowded & nearby parking was easy. Which is difficult in Walnut Creek. Had the California Burger lettuce wrapped. It was delicious. Very fresh lettuce & tasty sauce. Of course had to get in a few bites of the Mexican Corn. Wow... sooo good! Lots of flavor & the corn was sweet. The soft serve ice cream is one of the cream-iest I have ever eaten. Is not as watery compared to super duper. Best. EVER. On to the burger. I got the California one, the very first one on the menu. I liked it. It was non greasy and flavorful. I was satisfied with my dinner right after my spin class at cycle scape. The fries were plain & normal. The ketup is an odd flavor. Bring yo own. "Unfair unfair! Walnut Creek is getting all of these great places!" I happened to come by here for the very first time, after shopping at Uniqlo across the street. What an unbelievably fun place! It was not a mob, like it normally is at this time, because of the rain, but there was still a fair number of folks eating her. This restaurant has the three main ingredients to a happy life: food, beer, ice cream. That says it all. I did not know where to start first since I love all three. They have a good selection of popular craft Brews on tap. I got things started with a Lagunitas on tap. Then, I ordered the mahi-mahi tacos; finally, I topped it off with a chocolate dipped ice cream cone. I was pretty sure that beer and ice cream go together well. The vanilla cone dipped in chocolate was about $6. At first I thought that was pretty pricey, but after tasting it I concluded it is worth every penny! I think it's safe to say this is not a health food restaurant, although I told them to hold the sour cream on my tacos. The time to deliver my order was not really speedy (16 min), nevertheless the mahi-mahi tacos were really delicious. They are served with slaw, cilantro, oranges, limes, and hot peppers (on the side.) If you hold the sour cream, it looks like it really is a light meal. This restaurant was a great way to end the day on a cool winter afternoon. Keep in mind that you will almost certainly have to pay for parking in Downtown Walnut Creek. But it's not too expensive--about $1 for an hour. As others have noted, the prices are not cheap, but honestly this is Walnut Creek, so what can you expect? I actually thought they were okay. At the bar they had a menu of beer specials. Honestly, the prices did not look very special to me, so I passed on the specials. Life does not get any better than this folks. read more

Don't get me wrong the food here is amazing, but the management team is awful. I was here just Sunday around 5:30 to pick up an online order and had asked for ranch. The girl up front had let me know that this one would be on the house but normally it's 75¢ per her manager who was sitting off to the side eating her lunch. I asked her if it was possible to get two more which I would gladly pay for and her manager with a full mouth says "This one's on the house!!" while I'm asking her for my other two ranch's. Then the girl up front rings me up for the two and her manager in a rude and snarky tone informs her to "Yeah... go get her two more, and charge her for all three." In my professional opinion, when you offer a customer something and go back on your promise, it leaves a negative impact. I am not sure what I had to her manager to be treated so rudely and I think she should be reviewed by the restaurants owners. Not impressed. The best thing about this place is the open seating. I came here once and probably won't come back with all the different burger places in the area. For $85 I expected much more. My family of four ordered some burgers and a chicken sandwich and fries as well as some shakes. The cashier seemed less interested in taking our order and of course did not get it right. My husband does not eat avocado and I asked for the avocado to be put on the side so I could have it and that did not happen. Also, they did not put my order in for four orders of fries, so we only got three. I really wanted the cashier to pay more attention to what we were ordering because I could not just go up and ask for more fries, because the line was out the door. The burger I got was the one with the bacon and mushrooms and the bread was super hard and the bacon was so hard that it was hard to eat. The garlic fries were cold and not good at all. Gott's is such a Bay Area staple! We were excited when we realized there was one nearby. The sweet potato fries are a must. I love that they now carry the Impossible Burger (much better than their regular veggie burger) and you can substitute it in any of their burgers for a $4 up-charge, which is steep given some of the burgers are already $14+. A ton of the burgers have bacon, so it doesn't make them all vegetarian friendly by substituting the patty but there are a handful that are. They also have salads, tacos and other non-burger options so there's something for everyone! We got it delivered and it was neatly packed in a box, but I was overly excited and forgot to take a picture before devouring. The buns are soft and don't hold up great, so it's pretty messy. We have been to Gotts in Napa and San Francisco and have always enjoyed the food and have always eaten during warm weather. During COVID, they have very limited seating, in fact they mark a lot of outside seting area with "don't sit here signs". We were able to finally snag a booth outside where the social distancing partitioning was pretty good. We ordered our food at the counter and there was no line at all - usually when we have passed by, the line is outside the door. We visited after the lunch crush. We ordered: - Plain hamburger rare - it was rare! $7.99 - Ahi Burger - nicely seared and cooked just perfectly $16.99 - Tomato soup - delicious! $4.99 - Bottle of rose wine - Biehler $32 - Soft serve ice cream - $4.99 I think the experience would have been better if it was not so cold outside. The food was good but it got cold very quickly. It was not until I noticed the little boxes on the wall where you can turn on the heat lamps by yourself and it is on timers. Once we discovered that, the rest of the meal was enjoyable. This place gets packed during good weather. read more
