My husband and I dined here tonight because we were tasting some comfort food. After looking at the menu and being a little overwhelmed because there was such a wide variety of options, our thoughts were changed. We looked around to see what others had ordered and we were impressed just from what we saw. The table next to us had a burger and a reuben sandwich. Both were huge and looked great. Not what we were tasting tonight but that will definitely be ordered by us on a future visit. Next thing we saw was small bowls of complimentary popcorn being delivered to each table by the server. Our server never offered it to us and we didn't ask for it. We did not seem to have the best server. She was just okay. On to our order. We got celery and carrots with their homemade blue cheese dressing because it was supposed to be special but we didn't really care for it as it was quite sweet and had very few pieces of blue cheese in it. The ranch dressing is much better. We also ordered a bowl of chili which comes with a generous handful of tortilla chips and a side of sour cream and jalapenos. It was delicious enough to wipe the bowl clean with the chips. The Sushi Tuna Platter was not something I would have considered ordering at a diner type place but I have to admit, it was really good. I don't believe it was 6 ounces of tuna but more like 7 or 8 ounces. It also comes with a side of seaweed salad and sweet potato fries but you can swap out the side for different ones of your choosing. I got double seaweed salad because I didn't expect it to be so much but it was. The tuna was sliced thin and it was super fresh. I would definitely recommend ordering it. Overall, the dining experience was good. We were seated pretty quickly as your whole party must arrive before you can be sat. The food was excellent and from the looks of what we ordered and what we saw coming out of the kitchen, all of the portions are very generous. Prices are reasonable and everyone was friendly. We just went to one our favorite Delray Beach restaurants for Saturday Rib Night. We usually love them, but tonight we were told a new policy was that we could only get a half rack. Turns out that was a good thing because they were not up to par, very tough. The baked beans were also not the same as In the past and the portion size greatly reduced. The cornbread, which used to be awesome, was back to being very good. For a while it had been disappointing. We were excited to bring new friends to an old favorite, but things at Grangers have been inconsistent since the pandemic. read more

I have been eating at Grangers for over 15 years. I will never go back. They have new owners. The prices on the menu were less then what was charged on bill. There explanation was we ordered new menus and they are not in yet. They said we can do whatever we want and charge whatever we want. We nicely said they should put an insert in menu and explain the cost of food has gone up so prices have increased. They told us to not come back again! So unbelievably rude and disrespectful! I absolutely love this place! The best fried chicken sandwich (once a week as a special only right now) I've ever had. Hoping they will add it to the regular menu in time. This is a long time staple in Delray Beach located on Federal Highway. Comfort food personified. Warm and welcoming place with the feel of an old time diner. I loved the posters of Rock Icons decorating the walls. I have been here quite few times and have never been disappointed. On our most recent foray, I had the 4 cheese Bourbon French Onion soup followed by a Ceasar Salad with sashimi Tuna on it. Both were great, the soup was luscious from the cheese on the top to the last spoon of broth. The salad was very crisp and fresh and was the perfect compliment to the soup. My wife had the soup and Ceasar salad with chicken. Our friends had the brisket sandwich and the Black & Moo meatloaf ( blackened meatloaf with bacon and blue cheese. Tonight my friend and I decided to have dinner at Granger's and after a short wait had a great meal. We ordered the Conch soup and Beef Barley. Both were not only freshly made but were delicious. We ordered ribs and a turkey burger that were superb. We were waited on by Alicia an unbelievable server. Not only was she adorable but she filled our drinks before they were half empty. If I opened a restaurant Alicia would be my first hire. And by the way they served delicious popcorn when we sat down. Grangers has been sold to new owners. I had the thursday special of a turkey dinner. Last time had this dinner it was $17.00. Tonight it was $19.95. An increase of almost $3.00. The food was okay ( potatoes were barely warm ) but the cost increase was unnecessary. When I made a comment about the increase I was told the turkey they purchase was better quality, REALLY. The cashier and I exchanged words and I was kicked out of a restaurant I frequent twice a week. Some times new ownership is better for it's patrons, in this case its new owners are ruining a local spot I've been going to for many many years. Such a terrible shame. read more

I can't believe I've lived in East Delray for 3 years and have just discovered this place. I'm originally from PA where there are more diners and there aren't any down here. This place reminded me of one but with even better food! I also love that it's not a place where you feel the need to dress up like almost every place in South Florida. Granger's never disappoints. They are handling Covid restrictions very well. Very clean, masks required, tables well spaced. The food as always, is delicious. My favorite here is the deep fried shrimp. The shrimp is never greasy and always very lightly battered. Their cole slaw is great also - not too creamy or soupy. Usually good salmon very overcooked broccoli black on the ends. Service was the worst. We were the only table and the waiter was too busy talking and keep ignoring us. Cleared half the table and never came back. Another waitress walked near and we signaled her and all we got was "WHAT?" In a sarcastic manner. Onion soup nothing special not much added. WOW! Our group of 6 went for dinner and we were all happy with our dishes. The night we went they were having a turkey dinner as their nightly special. It was so yummy, who doesn't love a "Thanksgiving" dinner in August? Stuffing with gravy was perfect, turkey was tender & my pour of wine was HUGE. My brother in law had a bunless burger which he said was the best tasting burger he had in years. The kids menu also has lots of yummy dishes, the mac-n-cheese was a hit. My sis ordered a big salad & it was super fresh, topped with homemade dressing. They have a nice selection of beer & wine too. We will return here again & again. So glad we tried this gem. read more

I've been back to the new location multiple times! We've been greeted in a friendly manner, served promptly, and water glasses / wine glasses kept full. I just tried calling in to order food. Alyssa took the call...held the phone away from her ear to yell to someone that she's not taking orders next week. She then Said a simple order would take 45 min! In addition I tried to make a change and she literally huffed and puffed in my ear. Gross and rude! I told her never mind the order. mrktmvn Delray Beach, Florida Dining is Supposed to be a Pleasurable Experience Been going to Granger's for over 15 years including the previous iconic small location prior to the current. On recent visit we discovered Tim (previous owner) sold Granger's. Since Granger's has been high on our go to Restaurants list for many years we introduced ourselves to the new Manager upon arrival. We were a party of 4 with our 2 friends being 1st time customers. Over the years we have brought MANY new customers to Grangers. We ordered 3 Salmon Reubens and 1 B.C.B.T. plus drunks. Within 5 minutes of our Waitress taking our order we called her back and ordered 1 Caesar's Salad. She said the kitchen was running slow and we would not be able to receive it. I immediately sensed trouble but remained hopeful. 45 minutes pass and finally our waitress brings our order out and to my amazement says we only have 2 Salmon Ruebens and not 3 as ordered resulting in one in my party not having a dinner. A hamburger is ordered and another 15-20 min pass till we ask where is our burger. This is totally unacceptable with 3 people having a meal and 1 person nothing. Everyone is uncomfortable with the situation, rightfully so. Upon finishing dinner I call the Manager over and tell him of our displeasure with what has happened, and he tells tells me the kitchen got backed up and he apologizes for the difficulties the kitchen was having. I said to him Dining is supposed to be a pleasurable experience. Manager says what are you complaining about you got your food and ate it and basically laughs at us and is totally belligerent with the matter. We walked out not wanting to escalate matters, we are totally shocked that a Restaurant operator would act like this and not take responsibility to make this right. Before writing this very NEGATIVE review I decided to call Grangers back and talk to the Manager to give him a chance to smooth things over. He immediately goes on the attack saying we have been in the Restaurant business 40 years and once again says the kitchen had problems but eventually got and ate our food. I said once again Dinning along with great food is supposed to be a pleasurable experience and they failed miserably. The Manage laughs at me over the matter. It is very hard to believe a restaurateur being successful for 40 years with an attitude like what was being displayed. My friends said don't think we will be coming back anytime soon. I have brought many guests and have recommended Grangers to many Snow Birds over the past 15 years asking for recommendations to dine. People have choices and I deeply regret Grangers is off the list. I wish the new owners the best of luck but never forget Dining along with good food is supposed to be a pleasure experience. Love it here. Local diner style restaurant but definitely grown up menu. The food is huge In flavor and portion. Also, VERY reasonable pricing given location. We have been several times. Got the philly cheese the first time and it was enough for 2 people to be full. Got the grilled cheese patty melt this time and it was also enough for two.. so I took half home for dinner! The turkey burger was burnt, thin, tasted like card board. I have been going to grangers for 18 years..new and old. A popular, busy food establishment, with a great menu, reasonable prices and attentive staff. Regulars known by name. The pork chili was stellar with a light kick. The six-grilled cheese on rye was not as delicious as it sounds. Very cheesy but one cheese did not belong and gave it an "off" taste. Perfect grill on the sandwich (but too greasy/buttery). Someone else's steak and cheese looked delish but way too large. I did not find sitting beneath a provocative Monroe pic appetizing but understand their "All-Star" theme.
