First time trying Grassburger and I will be back!! I decided to get the Vegan Black Bean burger (and yes, they do serve meat there) with fries and it was DEEEElicious!! The vegan black bean patty had a good, firm texture and I had it with mustard and ketchup and it really hit the spot. I mention the texture because sometimes vegan burgers can tend to be a little on the mushy side and this one was perfect. It was also delicious!! I learned later that it was made in HOUSE! It tasted really fresh, so it was nice to know that its because it IS! The fries were really good and really well seasoned. They were perfectly crisp without being too hard. Really enjoyed them. They were so good in fact, I ate most of them in the car on the way home, without ketchup! (I'm kind of a fiend for ketchup on fries) So the fact that I could eat them sans sauce, is saying something! I got my food to go and but the service was friendly and pretty quick. i'm looking forward to going back and trying some of their other burgers! read more

Hands down this is the best burger in town! The meat has actual flavor! All the ingredients are fresh and healthy and the staff is efficient and friendly. I've eaten burgers all over this town and whether you pay lots more or lots less, you won't find a better meal. As a general rule of thumb, I don't care much for chipotle flavor anything, but the chipotle mayo is pretty good, especially with the mix fry basket. It had been a while since I ate at Grassburger on the east side and wanted to treat my daughter to a great burger & fries. As we walked in, all of the employees were standing together chit chattering as it was not busy. No one was at the register to take our order, and no one attempted to do so. A girl rounded the corner with a mop and bucket and as she saw us she stopped, looked at her fellow employees chit chatting then abandoned her mop & bucket, and stormed to the cash register to take our order. She was obviously put out with having to help us, and not receiving help from her co workers. She said all the correct things to say to a customer, but her mannerisms and facial expressions clearly said that she was not in the serving mood. I generally tip well as I also have had several customer service jobs and understand the work that goes into it, and that tips matter. This experience nearly convinced me to choose "no tip" as my option, but chose 10% instead because I had not gotten my food yet and was hoping things would get better. Luckily they did! The burger was good, but not the best in my opinion. The bun got soggy fast, but the sweet potato fries were amazing. The food came out fast and hot. The place was clean and pleasant to dine in. A bit pricy for what you get. Definitely pricy for rude employees to greet you before you spend $34.58 for 2 burger combos. read more

Tried this place today, I had a green chile jackburger and it was darn good! Definitely hit the spot! I loved the options they have. They have vegan/non dairy/gluten free options as well! I love that you can get a mix of their sweet potato and regular French fries and they have a chipotle sauce that is delicious! I also love the company's philosophy. They are all about Ethical and Sustainable practices and it seems that they source locally or within the region. I was a pretty busy day but the wait was reasonable and the staff was awesome and friendly. It was a bit pricey but the quality and product is definitely worth it. I'm mostly vegan/vegetarian by choice but this place intrigued me. Their grass fed, cage free philosophy is refreshing, better for you and better for the animal. We went on a Saturday around 3:30 so we missed the lunch rush and the dinner rush. The store felt large and was nicely air conditioned. We were greeted by the girl at the register when we walked in. She was patient with us as we had never been there before. The burgers come in 1/4lb (single) or 1/2lb (double). I think the 1/4lb were $7 something and the 1/2lb were $10 something. All burgers come with lettuce, tomato, pickles, raw onion, potato bun and their signature chipotle mayo. We got three 1/4lb burgers and a mix up fry (regular fries and sweet potato fries). I got mine with no onion, add avocado, and an egg. One of my friends got no onion, add avocado and my other friend got no tomato or onion, add an egg. You can see we got fairly complicated orders and they got all of them correct and our food was out in 10 or 15 min. Everything was so delicious! The burgers melted in your mouth and were hot and fresh. The fries were crispy, salty and hot. Overall we were very impressed and can't wait to go back again! read more

This review doesn't have an ABQ handicap. Mostly, because it is a small size franchise chain from Colorado, and we are not cutting it any slack. The location is in a strip mall, and I cannot hold this against them. The parking is reasonable, although around Christmas the lot was full, it was still easy to navigate. The restaurant is very clean, and the design also very good. First impression, the organization of the line was standard as it is not a waiter based service, but a "counter based bring it to you, but ask whether you are tipping on the register service." The beer selection was average, bottle and can, local and well balanced, and the wine selection sparse but acceptable. Service was prompt, the server gloved and clean, although I think the plastic wine glass might have been better to simply use the glass that the beer would be poured into, namely a Mason style glass with a handle. Glassware was clean. The food came out hot, the fries crisp and perfectly salted, and I got a 1/2 lb burger and my wife got the 1/4 burger, and having this selection was very nice. I wish there was more than two selections of cheese for my wife, as she is not a cheddar fan nor pepper Jack. The aluminum tray the burger and fries were served on were perfectly sized for the burger, but not big enough to hold the fries and the burger so that ketchup could be put on the tray for dipping. The flavor of the burger was just delicious, and the bun made it all the way through the meal, although just barely. We were there on a Saturday afternoon, and it was about 30% full so there was no issue with service, the bathroom very clean, and easy to navigate. Compared with the other burger joints in town, I would make it competitive, although the beer selection and wine selection might push it down if we were looking to drink as much as eat. Voted Best in Burque so we Had to try it. We were NOT disappointed at all. The service is attentive and professional. Our order was double checked to assure it was correct. It took less than ten minutes to get our fresh, grass fed, healthy for you, perfectly made to order hamburgers and fries. The green chile jack cheeseburger, with just the homemade chipotle sauce, fit on the bun splendidly. The mix of sweet potato and regular fries were hot, crisp, and lightly salted and we couldn't stop eating them. There are choices for beers, wine margaritas, and sodas. I really like this place! They have some really great options for any of those who may be Vegetarian, Gluten free, or love a juicy real beef patty! Both times I have visited I have gotten a bowl. Avoid the bun, but still get a great burger with all the fixens. The sweet potato fries with there green Chile ranch is the best! I like the theme and decor , there's a little kids corral so you could send the kids off to play and still enjoy your meal. They have some alcohol but not a very wide selection. Had 30 minutes to kill waiting for some friends who wanted to eat at Il Vicino. Was super hungry so figured I'd order some fries at Grassburger for an appetizer while I waited. Tuesday night, not too many folks in the restaurant. Ordered a small fries and nothing else at 7:05. Got my number, put it on the table. A few more folks wandered in. Seemed like there was activity in the kitchen. But no fries. At 7:30 saw my friends walk by to go to Il Vicino, so left to meet them. Never did get the fries. I'm sure this is an isolated incident. But, 25 minutes and you can't get out a small order of fries? That's pretty disorganized. And yeah, I could have waited in line to talk to the folks at the counter, but figured it wasn't worth the $3 to go through the all the bs. As a side note, I like the GB concept, and really enjoyed eating at the Durango branch. Would probably try them again at some point. But this experience was super lame. read more

It's kind of hard to rave about burgers as they are so un-unique. But I will say that Grassburger makes a really good burger. They really boast about their burgers being grass-fed and all the benefits that come along with that. I'm down with the whole grass-fed thing, and I guess it feels really good to know that Bessie munched down the greens instead of corn during her final days mowing the earth. What else..... The time from ordering from the time to the food arriving was a bit long I must admit and is the reason that I withheld a star from them ("Me gots to be greedy with me stars, so few to give on me Yelp!). The place was also jam packed, but I typically would like a meal to last under an hour especially at a burger joint. Overall Grassburger is pretty good. First time here. I heard about it word of mouth. It's near my Apt. You can taste the goodness of the beef. There is real difference in this and other burgers. I went plain with regular toppings minus chipotle so I could taste the burger. It was really good. Staff friendly ready to please. I also surprisingly liked their drinks. I really like the grass burger bowls here. I asked for a green chili grass burger bowl and was asked if I wanted the jack cheese. I said yes. I asked for the meal and wanted sweet potatoes fries. Honestly my new favorite Hamburger joint in the city. Is it creative? NO. Is it something new? NO. Is it back to the Basics of what a hamburger is supposed to be? YES!! So they take the concept of taking good fresh quality meat, grilling it perfectly, and then adding it to a few simple ingredients like fresh vegetables and chipotle mayonnaise (I always get it on the side so that i can dip fries in it too). Placing this between two buns (or in lettuce if you prefer a healthier/gluten free option) and you have all you need for a main course. They do have a few other toppings like avocado, bacon, and cheese. The only thing I have tried this burger with is a little pepperjack cheese to give it a little more kick and WOW it is good. As far as sides, the fries are good, and better than the majority of places. However, the sweet potato fries are phenomenal and rival the best I have ever had (still debating on this). As far as I am concerned, if you are looking for a good quality burger without the fancy-pants add-ons, go here and have a fantastic experience. Grassburger is the only other place I would eat a hamburger other than my own home. The hamburgers are delicious, not dry and not greasy and the buns are homemade. You have multiple options for your side. Don't leave Grassburger without tasting their wonderful sweet potato fries. However, my favorite is the Burger Bowl, a delicious patty on top of a rice/quinoa mix and shredded cabbage (they happily accommodate me by substituting Arugula for the cabbage). I normally get a stomach ache after eating a burger and fries but that is not the case with GrassBurger! Delicious, simple vegan burgers! I loved the possibility to have a mix of sweet potato and regular fries as I can never choose between the two. They have a small kids play area with books and toys. Knocked down a star because their homemade sauce isn't vegan and they don't have any substitution so you just get a dry burger. We put ketchup and mustard on ours and it did the trick but it would have been nice if they had had a vegan sauce or at least some veganese. read more
