Very cool place for brunch! Great food! Must try the maple bacon donuts! Staff were friendly and calm even though the restaurant was busy. We went on a Monday and it was packed! Can't even imagine what this place is like on the weekends! Fresh ingredients, and food came out pretty quickly. Finding parking can be a challenge especially with the surrounding community under construction but if you pack your patience to find parking the food here will be the reward! Restaurant was bright and simple deco but seemed a bit cramped. We were seated fairly close to the kitchen area but also next to the main walking aisle. Sitting somewhere different may have provided a different feel. Would definitely try this place again!
We got lucky with parking this morning just before 9am. They seated us right away since we there were only two of us. The service was exceptional and one point during Sunday brunch . The portions were ginormous and I could complain about the 25-30$ price tag on most of the menu items. Everything tasted delicious and my wife loved the ginger lime mimosa
This was nice brunch surprise that was really tasty!! We were seated outside, where the San Diego weather was really nice! Our server was attentive and brunch was spot on!! So good here!! I have NEVER had bacon on a donut before, so this was a first and as a signature choice here, it was surprisingly DELISH!! Everything was cooked to perfection. This was my first time having poached eggs and let me tell you, I AM A FAN now!!! I def recommend checking this spot out when in San Diego!!
A cool brunch/lunch spot! Parking can be a little tricky, so I'd recommend carpooling if you're going with a bigger group. We went on a weekday and didn't have to wait, but I'm not sure how busy weekends get. The service was friendly and the food came out quickly. The vegan hash had amazing flavor -- I especially loved the sweet potatoes and mushrooms. The maple bacon donuts were good too, but definitely very rich. I couldn't finish one myself, so I'd recommend sharing them with a few people. Overall, the food was really good. A little pricey, but honestly what isn't these days?
We brought my husband for Father's Day and it was such a dad place to be! The portions on the French toast, pancakes, and table side beignets were massive! We ordered one ordered of the French toast logs on their own, one order of the French toast logs with fried chicken, the banana pancakes with peanut butter, and fried banana, and one American breakfast. For drinks we had the mimosa flight, and a hot latte. The service was great out on the patio and the ambiance was lovely. Brendyn was a great server and so kind. I appreciated the fountain behind us and that it's dog friendly though we didn't bring ours.
After passing by this spot countless times, I finally made it in and overall, it was a solid experience with a few things worth noting. First off, the location is right in the heart of Hillcrest near the DMV, so it's definitely a busy area. There IS parking, but fair warning.... the spaces are tight. There's only one way in and one way out, which gets pretty congested. With it being such a popular breakfast spot, there were a lot of people (including families) waiting outside, and it felt crowded. A larger or more organized waiting area would really improve the experience. That said, once we got inside, things definitely picked up. The host was kind and got us seated pretty quickly, which I appreciated. The interior design is beautiful very spacious, airy, and thoughtfully put together. Each table had a small flower vase (looked real!), which added a really nice touch. Service-wise, Edgar took great care of us. He was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, which always makes a difference. For food, we ordered the steak with truffle fries and the French toast. The steak was requested medium but came out more well done than wanted. The truffle fries were really good, though. The French toast portion is HUGE definitely shareable. Personally, I would've preferred the syrup on the side because the bottom layer was pretty soaked, which gave it more of an eggy texture. That said, the bacon and blueberries paired really well and balanced it out nicely. Drinks were a bit of a mixed bag. The mimosas leaned heavily on the orange juice...more than I expected served in a more casual glass than I would've liked for the vibe of the place. I also tried the house coffee, which unfortunately didn't hit for me. Overall: beautiful space, great service from Edgar, and decent food with a few execution tweaks needed. I'd come back, but probably with adjusted expectations (and maybe park a block away next time)
Food was excellent.. everything came out hot and fresh tasting... service was good and server up sold some breakfast items didn't Catch her name but she did well if the owner reads this exactly what you want.. the place is old fashioned but modern inside. The food is amazing the French toast is to die for. Bring an appetite.
Been here twice and liked my second time around a lot better! I can see why they have a Michelin star and it's well deserved. I ordered the Scrambled Eggs with Zucchini and potatoes. It was really good and great taste. The busboy was so kind and funny when taking the things away. Service was very good and helpful. Place is loud but because it fills up fast but it's a great place to have a great time.
Y'all... this place is WORTH THE HYPE 100%. I went on a Sunday morning with some friends and put our name in for four. We had time to walk and grab a coffee down the street and come back before our name was called. Once seated, we ordered the maple bacon donuts for the table. Dare I say a MUST have! I usually don't love maple flavored foods, but these donuts got eaten quickly. I then got the picnic brunch because I was in a snack mood and it was so amazing to just graze on some high quality bread, cheese, grapes, and jam. My friends were also raving about their orders. The decor was cute, light, bright, and I can't wait to bring out of towners here soon!
What a pleasant surprise this was. We were sat really quickly and my eyes went all over the menu. I quickly ordered the Caesar of Spain and Pistachio Brie to start. The salad was intensely amazing and packed with flavor. The Brie and chutney.... Holy cow. I could have sat there and eaten a whole wheel. For entrees we ordered the prime rib and buttermilk fried chicken. The mashed potatoes....... Ugh. What a dream. I love old fashioned mashed potatoes that are still chunky! Perfectly flavored. The buttermilk chicken was insanely good. The waitress let me know I could substitute the thigh with a breast. So i ordered two breasts. They were so good and so moist. I can't stand dry chicken and this was nothing near. The donuts were huge and unexpected. They reminded me of fair food. When i bit into mine it felt super doughy and uncooked (i understand it was cooked thoroughly and this is just the texture of deep fried dough). It was heavy and dense. I had two bites and had to tap out. We took these home and ate these over the course of a two days. Quite a bit. As an overall complaint.. I'm not really for dog owners bringing their dogs INTO restaurants. As I understand the CDPH policies against non-service dogs in food facilities... i was surprised to be sat next to someone who had their dog on the booth bench and was feeding the dog from the table/plate. I've never seen a service dog doing that... I noticed a few employees stare at the dog eating on the bench and table and not say anything. Kinda gross. But I'll just have to keep that consideration in the future.
First time visiting for dinner. We started with the pistachio baked brie which was pretty good. I ordered the prime rib since the waiter raved about it, and I do like prime rib, but it's so hard to find a good one. This place wasn't the exception. I was super disappointed in the prime rib. It was super firm and tough to cut despite it's beautiful presentation. The mashed potatoes and asparagus paired perfectly with the meat too. The gravy was also really good! Too bad the cut was poor. I was excited when I saw it too because it was a huge piece of prime rib. Oh well! My husband thought the burger was good but nothing special. Service was okay. No one came over to offer refills on our drinks until we basically got our check. The gentleman working the host stand was pleasant. Overall, the food and experience was average at best.
Great is great and Great Maple is close to it in my book. Great seating indoors or out. Great service from the moment you walk in, til the moment you walk out very full and happy. We got a recommendation here and I honestly remember this place from years ago being just as busy, but now even busier and why I hadn't got to try. But fate and the power of the most important weekend meal of the day, brunch brought us in. I knew I was gonna go for the Vegan Hash, but just before strolling over from some window shopping on Park Blvd, we got a food recommendation for Great Maple's French Toast Logs. Left that all to bae as it's smoked bacon syrup, brioche style cut and battered "fire logs", topped with fresh mountain blueberries + powdered sugar... He ate as much as he could, loved it but couldn't finish it. It's definitely a meal for two. Being the the plant-based foodie of the two of us I can say my, cilantro, charred kale, cinnamon glazed sweet potatoes, fresh avocado, garlic, harissa, mushrooms, onion, tomato, and yukon potatoes via the Vegan Hash was soooo delicious. I added a little hot sauce, ketchup and pepper to get it some more heat. And feel like love with this dish. I do wish they had more clear cut plant-based options in 2026, but always grateful for what I can enjoy, not to mention or server. Pretty sure things like the Kale & Quinoa Salad or Great Maple House Salad can be made dairy free, like their S.D. Eggplant Sandwich. Good beverage options, from Bloody Mary's to Daiquiris to Margaritas and all your juice, coffee, soft drink, tea and water needs. Located on Washington Street with their on lot, encompassed by a unique set of intersections and the streets Cleveland Avenue and Lincoln Avenue. Open from 8AM to 2PM Monday through Friday, til 230PM Saturday and Sunday with dinner hours Friday as well as Saturday only, 5PM til 9PM. Reservation encouraged.

Came in from out of town for the first time on a Friday morning. Wait was about 20 minutes. Minimal parking. Have to find parking on the street somewhere. Fast service. Had the French toast logs. It's a very large portion. Delicious. Also had the bacon scramble melt. Aa little disappointed. Needed flavor. The potatoes had the flavor. read more

An excellent experience on Black Friday! Evelyn was our server. She carefully timed our ordering, made sure our food was right, and frequently checked in with us. She was such a welcoming server that I'll ask for her again in the future. As expected, the food was superb. The coffee was delicious and several sugar options were offered. I wish I could eat every single of the maple donuts in one setting! They are perfection. The brisket was smoked without being overly smoky, the potatoes were crispy, the bacon plentiful and the kale was sautéed perfectly. There were also perfectly cooked pomme frites that didn't make the picture. The bathrooms were clean and stocked. read more

First time trying it. It was so good! The beignets are a lot, so be prepared to share. I shared that plate along with the eggs, steak, potato platter. I can't remember the name. Everything was so good, even the lavender lemonade. Would def come back. Servers were also friendly and checked in. Just note the parking lot is very small! read more
This place is busy even on a weekday. Parking is free in there lot, but limited space and the spots are super tight. We were on our way back to vegas, but I wanted a yummy breakfast to fill me up. The wait time was a bummer as we were on a bit of a time crunch, but luckily they have the option of getting a to go order. I ordered their brisket hash dish and a Moroccan ice tea. As I paid for my to go order the food being expedited looked so opulant you could practically taste it with your eyes. I was drooling already. Let me tell you a freaking to go order ended up being one of the best brunches I have had in my life! The brisket was crazy tender and full of flavor, blistered tomatoes, crispy potatoes, a red pepper hollodaise to bring it all together, a perfecting poached egg, and thick crusty bread. I was in a state of ecstacy. The Moroccan ice tea was a refreshing counter point, and not to sweet. More lime than mint forward than I am used to, but still good. I honestly cant wait to go back to California to try more of their amazing looking menu. So many items were speaking to me, and I need to experience them. read more
Gave Great Maple a second try and enjoyed it a lot more this time around. Arriving on a Tuesday afternoon, we were seated immediately and enjoyed quick and attentive service. The beignets were definitely the highlight for me, they were slightly crispy and perfectly sweet with all the powdered sugar. They were so good with the maple glaze which is what our server added for us since we were deciding between the beignets and the maple bacon donuts! read more

Now the food looks REALLY good! And I they give ALOT of food, if your into that sort of thing and that's all that matters you would absolutely love this place. I think the food lacked flavor, substance, and that "mhmm wow this is so good" factor for me. This place has one Michelin star. Walking into the restaurant and seeing this plastered on the front door, made me curious, although I didn't see how. Trying the food and eating it, made me wonder how they even got that star. The food lacks in so many areas for me. For one favor- it lacked in taste. I thought everything was just mediocre. The food was presented really well and looked amazing! If you're going for looks, great pictures, and some cool menu items, this is your spot. If you're looking for a really yummy breakfast spot, this is not it. Took pics tho! Start to end, it was a pleasant surprise! Easy and accessible parking in the Great Maple's private lot (which is rare in Hillcrest). It was pleasant surprise as I'm used to circling around a few times for restaurants. My family and I made a reservation and were seated right on time. The staff was attentive and helpful providing recommendations. Note, some portions are MASSIVE! I ordered the California Chorizo Scramble. It was the perfect balance of protein, fruits, bread, and the guilty pleasure potatoes. The iced mocha presentation was a little messy but worth it. It was delicious! Can't wait to return to try the crispy mushroom fries and one of the signature donuts. read more
The food was really good. It was very filling, with huge portions. We ordered the brisket hash as a recommendation of the staff and he was right. There was plenty of brisket in there and it was juicy and flavorful. There could have been more vegetables but I was satisfied. My only real complaint is that the eggs were supposed to be Benedict but they cooked them too long and it was a hard boiled egg. We also ordered the maple bacon doughnuts. We were hesitant about the bacon on top of the doughnuts and she offered to put it on the side for us. The donuts were heavenly. They are moist and soft. We also got the great Maple scramble. Melt, it wasn't my favorite. I wasn't a fan of the soufflé eggs but the person who I was with. Enjoyed it a lot. That was also a large portion. Lastly I ordered chicken sausage because I was so hungry upon arrival and wanted something right away. It came out quickly and even that was large. I would definitely recommend this place. The staff was so friendly and very accommodated and helpful and making our decisions as we chose what to order. Their parking lot is small and there's only street parking around. This place does NOT skimp on their portions! Had a reservation and was seated right away. Sat on their patio area, a little bit cold but they had heaters. My partner ordered the peanut butter/banana espresso martini (it was interesting), the silver dollar pancakes (plain), BBQ pork belly & eggs. I had the French Dip. Drink: it was interesting. Honestly can't remember if it was an espresso martini or not, but they used peanut butter whiskey! BBQ Pork Belly was DELICIOUS! Very rich in flavor. The French Dip was good also. Pretty standard. I did enjoy the fried onion strings on top! Silver Dollar pancakes were pretty good! Would I come here again? It was a little out of the way since we stayed in the Gaslamp area, so likely not. But I'm happy we tried it while we were out here and weren't disappointed. read more
Super cozy, diner in Hillcrest area. Went in for brunch and discovered it was restaurant week and even though it was quite full inside the restaurant we were seated quickly. Gabby greeted us warmly with menus and promised to bring us our cappuccinos asap, ha! Caffeine fixes are real!! We both ordered from the restaurant week menu. I ordered the pork belly hash, mixed greens salad and key lime pie for dessert. My friend ordered winter squash soup, crabmeat on brioche and key lime pie. The pork belly hash was epic! Very much a satisfying comfort dish! All of the flavor's were deliciously matched from the potatoes, pork belly, perfectly poached eggs, spinach, onions and mushrooms. Mixed greens salad was a good addition. Nice and light, fresh tasting. I tried the lump crab on brioche and delicious as well. The winter squash soup was also a hit! I'm here to tell you this...the key lime pie though!!!! I know, I know,.... everyone loves a key lime pie and if you (like me) can't find a good one here it is!!!! Come and see for yourself! It's been awhile since I've been here and the food and cocktails were still very good. This place is always packed but luckily I was able to make reservations. We ordered the California Gourmet chorizo Scramble with egg whites and the Hardwood Smoked Bacon scramble. They included a toasted slice of sourdough bread and fruit. It was a generous amount of food and since it's so rich, we both had yummy left overs to take home. I enjoyed my cocktail which was the Pear Deux. It had the perfect amount of sweetness and my friend ordered a Bloody Mary which had a giant piece of bacon. Both delicious cocktails. And later we ordered a flight of mimosas to share. It comprised of mandarin cardamom, lavender lemon, mango pineapple, and hibiscus. The Mango pineapple was my favorite one. Our server was very nice and accommodating but I think since the restaurant was so busy, sometimes we waited a bit for her to refill our waters and for our check. Our server gave my friend a little chocolate bread pudding with candle for her birthday. Very nice touch which we appreciated. read more

THEIR FRENCH TOAST IS THE BEST IN SD I FEAR. Highlights of this place are their French toast, generous portions and service! this morning was my second time coming & my friend and I had to order this again! the portion is huge and shareable! TOWER of fluffy bread, sugary syrupy, with crispy crunchy bacon... this menu item alone is reason for me to come back again and again pigs in a blanket 2/5 nothing extraordinary, blueberry syrup could have saved this from being plain as it is sausage wrapped in pancake but blueberry taste was just super light. drenched and it barely added any sweetness/flavor. however, pancake was so warm and yummy. came with side of potatoes which were rip the roof of ur mouth crispy.... our first time here, we shared beef brisket hash 5/5 everything inside it went so well together the kale & beef were SO good Top tier customer service, friendly & funny, we love. Super cute interior and there is outdoor seating as well! read more
So! This was my first time going to a restaurant and seeing the coveted "Michelin Star Rated" sign. I have been to several Michelin star rated restaurants, it's just one of the first things you see here. So that was cool...but then kind of overkill by the bathrooms and on every surface possible. With that said...IT WAS GREAT! So I get it. The food was great. Eggs were the only kind of blahhhh taste. But I won't complain about eggs in this day and age. The French toast logs were decadent as can be. Now you know I love a deal...We got the full breakfast French toast logs... but then we added the fried chicken, which was my meal, and two eggs for $4.95. So total, we had the French Toast logs, added the fried chicken, two, two eggs, and an extra side of bacon. We both were STUFFED from that. You can definitely split an entree and be happy here. Loved it. My second favorite spot to eat breakfast in SD, next to the Hashouse. read more

As soon as we stepped into the restaurant we were greeting with a friendly staff. I forgot her name but she was super sweet and assisted us immediately. I am a sucker for attentive and caring service. She offered assistance since this was our first service and we both ordered our plate quite quickly. The portion size was huge and can fit 4 people for sure!! My nephew ended up bringing half of his plate home. Very friendly atmosphere and plenty of parking spaces perhaps it's on an early weekday. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here and will surely be back in the future to try other options on their menu!! read more

Great Maple- Hillcrest is one of those places you have to visit as a tourist or anyone living permanently in San Diego. It's always packed, so I would suggest booking on open table prior to coming. Also parking tends to be crazy, so factor that as well since, as its mostly street parking. The food comes in big portions so prepare to come hungry I've never had a bad entree so you're pretty good with everything on the menu, just depends on what you're craving. Definitely a must visit! read more

We came here because they offer eggs breakfast with veggies. Ended up ordering their scrambled melt with zucchini and two egg breakfast. Both of them were well done. I am partial towards vegetables and of course cheese helps enhance the flavor so gonna vote for their scrambled melt next time. They have a cute porch at the back where we sat. It was a sunny day so definitely a big perk of eating here.. read more

My husband and daughter are a big maple fans so we decided to try this place. When we came they asked if we had reservations. I didn't even realize they took breakfast reservations. We did not have reservations but got seated fairly quickly within 20 minutes. The place is hoping with people and the parking lot very small so I would suggest to go early. We were seated outside so I didn't get to see how the layout inside looked but outside was nice. Plenty of outside seating. The portions are generous so it was fun to see plates go by and ooooihg and awwwing . I got the coffee. My cup was given to me with red lipstick on the rim. I asked the waiter for a clean cup and he blamed women that wear stronger lipstick these days instead of just apologizing. He did give me a new cup fairly quickly but honestly I think it could have been handled better. All in all he was a good waiter and that was the only complaint I had. He was attentive and friendly the rest of the time. The coffee tasted dark and intense which I love that. We started off with the homemade maple bacon donuts. They were drizzled with maple. It was sprinkled with crispy bacon pieces. Oh man they were served warm too and sooo ooey gooey and messy. I would definitely get those again. I got the Two Egg Breakfast. The potatoes were crispy and golden brown and topped with salt . I chose bacon as my side meat and it was crispy and delicious. The grilled ciabatta was so good with the house made jam. It tasted like fresh raspberry jam. The rest of the family loved their breakfast too. We will definitely come back again but come early and with reservations I suppose. read more

Came here for a weekday brunch for 2. We had to wait about 10-15 minutes before we were seated. The restaurant is pretty tightly seated with tables both inside and outside. We ordered the bacon donuts, french toast logs, BLT with truffle fries, and the chilaquiles. I recommend only getting the donuts if you have ppl to share with because they are MASSIVE and very sweet so a little goes a long way. Overall we enjoyed all of our food. Chilaquiles had great flavor and the chips were crispy enough to hold up to the sauce. I recommend getting syrup on side of french toast logs since they're so large you don't want your leftovers soggy. Ultimately the food was yummy & we'd come back again. The only downside was the service. Once we got our food our waitress never checked back in with us. No drink refills, how is your food, can I get you anything, do you need boxes etc. it's quite disappointing when you have to ask someone else for a box and then an additional person to find your waitress to then wait even longer just to get your check. The follow through with the wait staff could've really elevated the experience. Overall I'll return but I don't think I'll bring anyone I want to have a good impression with the iffy service. read more
Even with a reservation, the wait was about 25 minutes for 6 people for outdoor seating. 2024 Michelin guide restaurant We got the maple bacon donuts to share and everyone liked them. If you like sweet/savory then you'll love these. The maple bacon French toast had good texture and were really fluffy. I'm not much of a sweet/savory guy but this was good. I would opt out of getting the side of fried chicken as it is boneless. Everyone enjoyed their dishes. Portions are generous and prices reasonable. Came here with my in-laws for breakfast and it was great! We got there a little before 9am so there wasn't a line yet. The hostess and waitress were also both very friendly and welcoming! One of my friends suggested we try Great Maple, and I have to say, it was a great decision! They take reservations, which I recommend since it was quite busy when we arrived. The parking lot is small, but there's street parking available too. After checking in, we only had to wait about five minutes to be seated. We chose to sit outside because the weather was nice. Our server greeted us quickly, and I ordered the maple bacon donuts for the table. My friends tried the Bloody Mary and the caramel mocha, while I stuck with water. The donuts were good but a bit thick and doughy, which made them feel a little dry. I would have liked them to be sweeter, but I do have a major sweet tooth, so maybe that's just me. My friends enjoyed their drinks as well. I tried them both and agreed though I'm not a fan of Bloody Mary's. For my meal, I went with the BBQ pork belly. I was torn between a few options, but the server helped me decide, and I was not disappointed! The pork belly was incredibly tender--melt-in-your-mouth good. The flavor was bursting with rich bacon taste, perfectly complemented by the BBQ sauce. I didn't want the dish to end! The potatoes were crispy, just how I like them, and well-seasoned, and the eggs added a nice protein boost to the meal. My friends enjoyed their meals as well and agreed that the experience should be 5 stars. I definitely recommend and will be back to this gem. read more
Went here for brunch, and it truly hit the spot! I had their avocado feta toast that's topped with fresh tomatoes, basil, a drizzle of balsamic vinegar and tangy pickled onions on a ciabatta bread. The bread was incredibly fluffy and fresh, and the avocado was perfectly seasoned. I highly recommend giving it a try. I also ordered a soy latte, which was delicious. My husband and friends opted for Great Maple's regular black coffee, and they were impressed by its rich dark roast and lovely flavor. I took a sip of my husband's coffee and completely agree! My husband ordered the Great Maple French Toast Logs, and they were enormous--fluffy, drizzled with syrup, and accompanied by slices of bacon and fresh blueberries. There was more than enough to share, and we took some home. For the table, we shared the French Apple Pie Pancakes. They were packed with flavor, though I found them a bit chewy. However, my friend really enjoyed them. The restaurant offers a parking lot, which is super convenient. I highly recommend making reservations, as this place gets busy--and for good reason! With Michelin stars to its name, the food is not only great but also generously portioned. Come hungry and expect friendly service and a warm, inviting atmosphere when you dine at Great Maple. read more

I came here for brunch with my family. The food was good, I ordered the Provence Sunshine Squash Blossom Hash and we got the Fresh Maple Bacon Doughnuts to share. The Squash Blossom Hash was very filling and a hearty meal. The potatoes were crisp and the goat cheese really rounds out the dish. The maple doughnuts were very big and fresh. I would recommend making reservations, we went on a Saturday and it was extremely busy. Service was friendly and we were served quickly even with the place being very busy. When arriving at Great Maple, the parking was very accessible and free. The restaurant it self is very small inside but clean. It gives off a very modern feel, but we thought that the tables were too close together. Reservations are recommended, we arrived when they opened and it was already packed by the time we finished. The service was good, average service for a busy brunch place. The menu was presenting itself as upscale but the flavors didn't deliver. We ordered the Cerrillos Chilaquiles and the California Chorizo Scramble Melt. The chilaquiles were definitely not up to par for me. The dish was topped with a giant handful of cilantro, which I didn't like personally. I appreciated the tortilla chips being crispy, but the other flavors did not add up. I love a good runny egg on my chilaquiles, so the scrambled egg definitely didn't give me the experience I was looking for. The chorizo and egg were buried at the bottom and you had to dig through to the tortilla chips to get to it. The cilantro sour cream was tasty on the top, but the tomatoes threw the plate off for me. I definitely would not get the chilaquiles if you enjoy the traditional version, this version just doesn't cut it. Upon ordering The California Chorizo Scramble Melt, the description makes you think you're ordering a sandwich (to us a "melt" is considered a sandwich), no where does it say it's a bowl with a slice of bread. The bowl tasted good when accompanied by the bread, but by its self it tasted flavorless. The potatoes were very bland, they were missing flavors and salt. The fruit on the side consisted of 2 blackberries and a 1/3 slice of cantaloupe. Overall we felt the prices were high given the quality and quantity of the food. This is definitely a one time visit spot for us. When planning a trip to San Diego definitely explore your options before committing to coming here! read more

Great spot! Be aware that portions are HUGE. My boyfriend and I each got a plate in addition to their maple donuts (fantastic) and we ended up taking so much home. But everything was so good. read more

Parking at Great Maple is definitely a challenge, the lot is small and usually full, so be prepared to circle or find street parking. The service was decent, nothing standout but friendly enough. The place was clean and the atmosphere was neutral. I ordered the double egg breakfast, which came with potatoes and bread. I added bacon for an extra charge and, it was worth it, I love their bacon. The scrambled eggs were a little bland, but everything else hit the spot. Overall, solid food, just wish parking wasn't such a hassle. read more

After years of staring at this place, I finally tried the breakfast. My first time at great Maple in Hillcrest I got the smoked beef brisket hash. The brisket was super tender, and the entire dish was really good, but a little oily for me to enjoy the whole thing in one sitting. Then I went a second time, and I tried their kale and quinoa salad with pine nuts , and that was super light and refreshing. I added a little bit of chicken to it to make it a full meal. And when I thought I was too full, my order of three donuts came. The famous maple bacon donuts were super fresh and the size of my hand. The bacon was extra crispy and it had a great balance of sweet and savory. I highly recommend to share this dish. Don't come here by yourself unless you're willing to go home with huge take-home boxes. read more

My bestie and I came on Saturday afternoon, and she was able to make a reservation, which we love and recommend. Parking can be kind of difficult if it's a busy time - just expect to find street parking and walk. Once we arrived we just had to wait a little bit was seating and our server was super attentive considering it was a busy day. We ordered their French toast, bacon and chocolate pancakes and it was super yummy. Definitely recommend the pancakes! Their Lavender Lemonade was super good as well as their espresso martini. One of my top brunch places in San Diego ! It is a little pricey but the quality and amount of food you get is amazing ! The french toast logs were the best thing on the menu for me. They are 4 huge slices of bread shaped into logs smothered with delicious maple syrup and topped with sweet juicy blueberries. I truly did enjoy it and got pretty full from it ! The house smoked brisket hash was also good ! It was brisket mixed in with Roma tomatoes, potatoes, and topped off with a delicious egg and creamy hollandaise sauce. The mocha coffee was okay , nothing too special. The atmosphere is nice and feels like you're in a fancy cabin inside. Best breakfast I've had in a long time! Had an amazing brunch at Great Maple everything from start to finish was perfect. I tried their mimosa flight with a variety of exotic flavors, and every single one was delicious. The food was incredible, full of flavor and beautifully presented. We sat outside and it was super comfortable, with great vibes all around. The staff was friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. Definitely a must-visit brunch spot I'll be coming back soon! read more

Unfortunately while their food is very yummy they are not particularly gluten free friendly. No indications on menus, no GF bread etc.

Unfortunately No. They serve breakfast in the morning till certain hours. I do know that it can be as late as noon but I don't think their menu allows for breakfast anytime after that.

The website says they have a happy hour from 5-6pm....with small bites too
Do they have a parking lot?
Yes, they do but it is small. Make sure you time your visit otherwise you will have to circle the neighborhood looking for street parking.
